The Kings Arms

Fleggburgh, Great Yarmouth
18/06/2019: After dropping some bits off at Bawburgh, I saw the Kings Arms and thought that I had never been in and it was a shame as it looked nice ! Myself, my significant other, Carmen and Chilli the phycotic sausage dog, sat at a table outside and perused the menus. Wow, fine dining meets country pub - my initial reaction was WOW. Great selections of food, wine etc and even something for Vegans (Whos should all be locked up !!!! ONLY JOKING).
05/06/2019: I ask a very good friend of mine to reserve a table for 10 people of various ages (22 to 90+) for a special occasion and I would leave the choice of where to go to him. We arrived expecting to eat outside in a very pleasant garden area but due to the weather we were forced to go inside. This was absolutely no problem whatsoever and the table was re laid inside. The owners wife was extremely polite, as were the other waiting staff and very helpful with nothing being too much trouble. The food was superb and excellent value for money with everything piping hot. The portion sizes would satisfy the biggest appetites and everyone said how much they enjoyed the day. I too was pleasantly surprised at the bill, very reasonable bearing in mind what we had put on the table. I never knew about this restaurant/Public House but I would thoroughly recommend it and will definitely return when I am next in Great Yarmouth.

Chico's Fish Bar & Restaurant

Nelson, Great Yarmouth
06/06/2019: Tried a few times to get in here after reading all the great reviews but was disappointed with the visit.
05/06/2019: I adore fish and seafood and this place certainly ticks all the boxes. I have heard my family talk about it but thought it may be one of those 'overpriced' seafront places but I adored it. The owner is really friendly and helpful - going to suggest it for my sister's BIG birthday this year.

The Shed

St Andrews, Great Yarmouth
15/06/2019: After reading all the positive reviews just had to visit Te Shed.
08/06/2019: We live 3 hours away but hopefully we will be coming back much sooner this time!! Fabulous food, wonderful service, unfortunately we just couldn’t manage a dessert ☹️. If you love your seafood you have to eat here.!!!!

Merrivale Tea Rooms

Nelson, Great Yarmouth
17/06/2019: Having been a couple of time last year we returned for a family lunch, We love this place as we always pop in the retro arcade first. We have a mix of bacon butty, sausage rolls and meals from he special boards and it was very tasty. It all came out at once and was warm and well presented. The slow cooked pork with apple was fantastic. We love the out door seating and seeing the birds popping around the tables looking for crumbs is great. Plus the hanging baskets are always amazing and well kept.
16/06/2019: A nice tea room with plenty of seating. A great choice of cakes which are very nice. Excellent cream tea. But unfortunately the coffee is much to be desired it's not freshly made from a proper coffee machine, it is from a machine which they use pre mixed coffee like you get from a coffee machine from a canteen or supermarket cafe which you help yourself to, thus tastes like instant coffee and that was having a latte very disappointed please purchase a proper coffee machine. A big let down.

Ormesby, Great Yarmouth
18/06/2019: This little restaurant is well worth a visit the food and service were excellant. I would certainly recommend the Sea Bass fillets.
19/05/2019: Arranged a Sunday lunch birthday party for my 90-year-old dad - 15 friends and family. Moments' staff coped effortlessly with the assembled throng and all were fed and watered well. Good range of options on the Sunday Lunch menu - plus some interesting touches like physalis (Cape Gooseberry) in the fruit salad.

11/06/2019: Although me and my boyfriend are locals, we had never been in here before despite walking past. I'm ashamed we had left it so long! We were greeted by a pleasant waitress as we entered and were seated and had our order taken incredibly quickly. The food was delicious, I ordered the fishcakes which were lovely. Portion sizes are generous and pretty good value for money. There is also a pleasant seating area outside which would be ideal for people with dogs who want to stop for lunch.

The chips were proper hand cut and food was really good, service excellent, attentive and friendly. A really nice atmosphere, for that to come through on a very busy night is no mean feat
