The Old Bank

Snettisham, King's Lynn and West Norfolk, >100£
23/02/2020: The restaurant is small but definatley not cramped.
15/02/2020: Our first visit, and what a shame we live elsewhere and were only here for a weekend. We loved the tasting menu: the lamb was truly excellent. Service relaxed but professional. The restaurant is quite small but has a lovely Bistro atmosphere and the food far exceeds that of a standard Bistro though.

The Courtyard

Central and Northgate, Great Yarmouth, <20£
23/02/2020: This was our first visit to the Courtyard. It certainly won’t be our last.
22/02/2020: Perfect hosts -Katy & Dave always welcoming Perfect atmosphere -always chilled with nice background music -cosey & warm Perfect food -fresh - hot -tasty & well presented Perfect in every way -cannot fault it in anyway

Queen Victoria

Wickham Bishops and Woodham, Maldon
16/02/2020: Despite living in Maldon we had never visited the pub till yesterday. Boy have we been missing out. Great food, excellent service and lovely interior. We will definitely be going back.
15/02/2020: Stopped here for lunch after reading reviews on trip advisor lovely clean pub with friendly staff the food was excellent and very nicely presented having the option of a choice of a large or small portion of a dish it a great idea will come here again.

Maison Bleue Restaurant

Abbeygate, St Edmundsbury
25/02/2020: Friday night dinner booked earlier in the week. There is nothing to fault. Perfection and incredibly good value for money. We now rarely try other restaurants as few can live up to expectations. As good as it gets.
25/02/2020: We had a Lovely relaxed lunch - excellent efficient service and absolutely fantastic delicious food.

Restaurant Twenty Two

West Chesterton, Cambridge
18/03/2012: Went with my wife for our wedding anniversary, and was not dissappointed. The single room has an intimate "at home" feel, with tables fairly close together. The food was excellent - especially the very tender venison main course. The menu is fairly small and set for the month, but the quality makes up for the lack of choice. Also, you have to have a full meal rather than just choosing individual courses. Nice touches like a small taster soup on arrival, and a sorbet before the main course. We also had a great bottle of Cotes du Rhone red wine (Parallelle 45).It's not the cheapest place, but it is special. Perfect for that special occasion.
30/01/2012: The decor is very dated and the food just OK. Seems a place for business people to go rather than a romantic dinner

St Helena

Elstow, Bedford, 45-60£
25/02/2020: This was my second visit to St Helena, again for a birthday treat. It is truly an amazing experience. From the minute you walk through the door you are made to feel special but also like family. The staff are friendly and attentive and all have a wealth of knowledge regarding the dishes on the menu. Absolutely nothing is too much trouble and then it gets even better as you sample the amazing food. I so enjoyed my meal last time that i was torn as whether to try something different. I did and i wasn't dissapointed. The posh fish and chips were stunning and having tried lobster thermador around the world this was by far the best i have ever eaten. So many flavours and the right portion size. The starters and desert were equally impressive and despite being totally full i couldn't resist the homemade petit fours at the end of the meal. I travel over 60 miles to reach this restaurant and it has been worth it every time. Heres to the next time. Many Thanks Raff & Frank the proprietors for making my birthday so special once again.
23/02/2020: Attended the restaurant with my wife and friends. On arrival you are made so welcome by the staff especially Raff and Frank. Great atmosphere with the food absolutely amazing. Had the fillet steak which was the best I have eaten in a long time. Overall a fabulous evening can’t wait to return.

The Lowestoft Tandoori

Harbour, Waveney
23/02/2020: We ordered at 17 30 and it was delivered quicker than time on delivery slot was hot and very tasty the best we have had in lowestoft wish we had gone here sooner.
22/02/2020: Little gem this place, always very accommodating, nice atmosphere, staff are attentive and professional and above all, the food is absolutely outstanding!

The Green Man

Whittlesford, South Cambridgeshire, 20-30£
24/02/2020: My sister and I arrived late for our lunch booking, despite this the staff were welcoming and we enjoyed the lunch, the waiting deserve a special mention for their help with choosing the dishes, we ordered 5 vegan tapas dishes together with grilled Haloumi, My white wine although inexpensive was very good, unfortunately they didn't have any vegan certified wines to accompany the vegan food?. We both agreed that the dessert of BlackBerry and apple crumble with sorbet was divine.
23/02/2020: We visited for a meal early on a Saturday evening - cosy atmosphere and warm, friendly service. Several families eating there too and staff were catering well for the little folk. The food was superb - good choice of dish (I had read online they only offered 3 options per course but there are more than that) cooked to perfection and reasonably priced. Would definitely visit again and am interested to visit the sister pub in Fowlmere.

The Buxhall Crown

Onehouse, Mid Suffolk, 20-30£
25/02/2020: Great service with a landlord who is very knowledgeable about the drinks and food available. The food came out quickly and it was beautiful.
22/02/2020: We had a lovely time on valentines evening, the food was amazing as usual. Staff are always friendly, it's always cosy and warm

Roger Hickman's restaurant

Mancroft, Norwich, 60-100£
25/02/2020: My sister and I booked a Saturday Lunch for our mum’s Birthday. The food was faultless; first we were presented with an appetizer of artichoke soup with a hazelnut crumb. Next sourdough bread which was plentiful -2 slices each and lots of butter. For starter I had blow torched salmon, followed by the Cod with Risotto. Both were presented elegantly and tasted delicious. For dessert I opted for a thin slice of rich decadent chocolate tart, with a coffee cream and ice cream. We were also give a piece of chocolate fudge and white chocolate shard, which had happy birthday piped onto the plate for our mum. This was my second visit, and I will be looking forward to seeing the menu for Spring/Summer
24/02/2020: We were eleven people celebrating a "big" birthday in Hickman's Private Dining room. It is not an inexpensive exercise; you are required to have the taster menu which is £45ph or £75ph with the wine flight and a minimum spend of £800. The private room, located upstairs is ideal for a group of about 12 people and has its own kitchen.

Vita Bella

Bicknacre and East and West Hanningfield, Chelmsford, 45-60£
25/02/2020: A beautiful lunch and superb service. We chose this Italian restaurant because of a friend's recommendation. We were not disappointed. The service is second to none and the food was amazing, plus a brilliant selection of starters and main courses.
23/02/2020: Birthday meal for the old man. Arrived in the car park to find a parking attending placing everyone so no one parks like an idiot. Went in and were overwhelmed by the standard of attention we were given during our visit. Then the food - WOW, fabulous. Can't tell you how good this place is - you have to go and see for yourself!

Morston Hall Restaurant

Glaven Valley, North Norfolk, 60-100£
16/02/2020: We recently stayed here in one of the garden rooms. The room was beautifully decorated and easily compared with a 5 star luxurious hotel. The staff are incredibly professional and nothing was too much trouble. We stayed for Valentines evening and had the 9 course dinner. Without doubt this was probably one of the best meals we have ever eaten. The breakfast however, was sublime! Everything at Morston Hall is so very special. We cannot wait to return in the Spring, to admire the beautiful gardens and of course the food!
16/02/2020: Thoroughly enjoyable and relaxed atmosphere and delicious variery of treats ... beautifully presented and welcomed attention to detail

The Star Inn

Walberswick and Wenhaston, Suffolk Coastal, <20£
18/02/2020: (Traducido por Google) Pasamos la noche en nuestra casa rodante pub / restaurante encantador, acogedor e interesante. (Original) Stayed night in our camper lovely cosy and interesting local pub / restaurant.
17/02/2020: We booked a table for the Friday evening as we were staying in the village for a weekend break with friends. It's a proper pub with real fires, old tin signs and pics on the walls and quirky ornaments which added to its character. We knew they were dog friendly but when we turned up they said dogs can go anywhere and our dogs were given treats and fusses. The owners were really friendly and the food was really good, with decent size portions at a good price. I think the negative reviews about the landlord is because the reviewer didn't get his sense of humour ( very dry but we thought he was funny). Both him and the landlady couldn't have been more welcoming.

Milton, Southend-on-Sea
15/02/2020: My husband and I ate with friends here last Saturday before going to a show. The restaurant had a warm and inviting atmosphere and we were quickly seated and served. I fancied the chicken in creamy mushroom sauce which was actually on the set lunchtime menu but they very kindly made it for me as an a la carte dish, it was absolutely delicious and the vegetables were al dente which is just how I like them. My other companions enjoyed their mains of pizza, cannelloni and tagliatelle. My friend and I had desert, she said her profiteroles were the best she had ever eaten and I enjoyed my chocolate fondant. The savignon blanc and Rose were very good as was the coffee which came with a charming mini biscotti. So lovely that you get given chocolate mints when you ask for the bill, not many establishments do this now. We were also treated to a complimentary limoncello which rounded our meal off beautifully. Waiting staff were very friendly and attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely come again when we have another trip to the theatre planned and will also try the lunchtime set menu when catching up with girlfriends. Highly recommend.
15/02/2020: Beautiful food and lovely staff. The risotto was the best we have ever had outside of Italy! We will definitely be coming back.
