The Courtyard

Central and Northgate, Great Yarmouth, <20£
10/11/2019: Definitely made our weekend finding this place. Food was excellent and catered last minute for vegan, and nothing was too much trouble. The chocolate dessert (also vegan) was to die for.
10/11/2019: Absolutely amazing little quaint restaurant!!! So relaxed, warm and welcoming! Vegan friendly and the lady and chef couldn’t do enough for us!! Love love love and will certainly come back xx

The Old Bank

Snettisham, King's Lynn and West Norfolk, >100£
08/11/2019: This was our second visit and didn’t disappoint in any way. The scallop dish was so full of flavours and my halibut was delicious. I can’t praise this little restaurant enough for the Chef’s wonderful food, the front of house stars and behind the scenes workers too! Thank you very much.
01/11/2019: A superb little restaurant with first class cuisine and friendly staff. I had the duck which was cooked to perfection.

Queen Victoria

Wickham Bishops and Woodham, Maldon
11/11/2019: We have been here twice now and each time the staff have been so welcoming they are a credit to your team! Food was amazing think we will be becoming regulars for our sunday roast!
11/11/2019: Very unassuming pub/restaurant. Once inside the open log fire was very welcoming. An intimate olde world layout with a variety of local artisan decor. The service was quick without being pushy. Michelle, our host, was pleasant, informative and witty. The food was plentiful, well prepared and was so obviously home made.

St Helena

Elstow, Bedford, 45-60£
10/11/2019: With 4 friends, we went here to celebrate a 40th and a 50th wedding anniversary and 2 big birthdays and we could not ask for a better venue, food or service! Raff and Frank and their staff gave us marvellous treatment and all 6 of us came away having had a splendid evening. It is hard to write anything that hasn't been said elsewhere but this is truly a gem of a place that is well worth a visit. Many thanks Raff for all you did and your delightful entertainment!
08/11/2019: Moved away from area some years ago so first visit for many years and what a pleasure.

Maison Bleue Restaurant

Abbeygate, St Edmundsbury
09/11/2019: First visit to this restaurant, food was very good and staff were very friendly although the prices seemed high for the a la carte menu. We would definitely return.
07/11/2019: I booked Maison Bleue for a “big birthday“ surprise lunch for my wife and- unbeknown to her - 14 friends!

Restaurant Twenty Two

West Chesterton, Cambridge
09/10/2019: Lovely restaurant for couples. We went there for our wedding anniversary. The interior is not great but the food was fantastic.
09/10/2019: Such a great meal. We had the 7 course with wine pairing. Everything was delicious and service was impeccable.

The Buxhall Crown

Onehouse, Mid Suffolk, 20-30£
01/11/2019: Always the best service and the most wonderful food. I can't recommend this place more...
21/10/2019: A lovely setting with food to match.

The Green Man

Whittlesford, South Cambridgeshire, 20-30£
01/11/2019: They offer several menus, we went for the Tapas selection which was fantastic. Good food, good beer selection and lovely atmosphere.
29/10/2019: Haven't been for quite sometime, so thought would give it a go. Lovely rustic look inside. Loved the scrabble personalised touch on the table. Very busy lunch but staff were friendly and service was prompt. Meal was very tasty and the ice cream and sorbet mix for desert gorgeous. Used to visit here quite a lot before was community owned but think they have done a lovely job with it.

The Ingham Swan

Waxham, North Norfolk, 45-60£
11/11/2019: Went today for a pre-birthday treat. Originally booked a romantic table for 2 but an issue in our village meant the school was closed so had to take the children.
10/11/2019: Absolutely loved our evening at the Ingham Swan. Perfect evening for my partners birthday . Romantic, cosy , fantastic food , wine & great service from all the staff. For me this has been my favourite place this year and I cant wait to go back . Highly recommended if you like fine dining.

Bure River Cottage Restaurant

St Benet, North Norfolk, >100£
06/11/2019: We have been to this restaurant on several occasions and have had great food every time. There is plenty of choice on the menu. The wines are also very reasonably priced. See you again soon
25/10/2019: What a great restaurant. We had a lovely meal which was delicious. I tried swordfish for the first time which was very adventurous for me! It was extremely tasty. As much as we would have liked to, we were both too full to have a desert! We would definitely go back if we were return to Norfolk again.

Roger Hickman's restaurant

Mancroft, Norwich, 60-100£
10/11/2019: Norwich is my favourite city after Massive Attack's Bristol. In the midst of family funeral preparations we took a day out to visit the incredible Castle Museum and its current exhibition on the life and times of WG Sebald. We had a fantastic lunch at RH's on 79 Upper Saint Giles Street. I had the two course lunch, the archaeologist was tempted to the three course menu. Great ambience with muted Miles Davis Kind of Blue phase, alongside Coltrane's lyricism on the soundtrack. A delightful waitress from Colorado, has just completed her masters in Museum studies at UEA. Beautifully presented each course while we talked around ethnography, archaeology and anthropology. I ate cod cheeks to start, followed by the beef main. Before that dark brown rustic bread with pumpkin and peanut sauce. A glass of champagne each; a bottle of Fleurie. Quiet when we were there - 45 covers downstairs, 15 for private functions upstairs. Will be hectic over Christmas. Thank you so much.
05/11/2019: Food wasn’t too bad (if you like paying 14x what it’s worth), service was good & couldn’t fault table service. However.....The cook (Hickman), the ‘great man himself’, should concentrate on cooking rather than ogling female diners & swanning around like he’s something special.

The Lowestoft Tandoori

Harbour, Waveney
09/11/2019: Me and my brother come here once a year from Stoke on Trent, we have been coming for around 5/6 years now, and from the first meal to the last, we have never been disappointed. Food is superb. Choice is wide and I’m always spoilt for choice on what to have. We were waited on hand and foot and the staff here are fantastic. I’ve had worse meals closer to home, so we look forward to coming here all year round. I can’t recommend it more, it’s brilliant. Meheraj is a superb bloke and will look after you. Can’t wait for next year!
09/11/2019: Went here last night on back of searching for a good curry house. We werent disappointed. The food was amazing and great options never seen before. Staff very attentive with little extras added to our table. Will definitely go back here.

Vita Bella

Bicknacre and East and West Hanningfield, Chelmsford, 45-60£
11/11/2019: Our fourth visit to Vita Bella now and definitely the best visit yesterday which was for a family birthday meal - 4 adults and 2 teenagers. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed all of their well cooked and presented dishes - starters and main dishes. Only one dessert as we were too full! The lobster, prawn and crab ravioli and sea bass fillets (plentiful!) were particularly enjoyed. The staff were all courteous, friendly, efficient and accommodating but not intrusive. We were not at all rushed and time between courses was just right. A lovely ambience and table was in a spacious position that had privacy though. A perfect meal - thank you.
10/11/2019: We arranged a family weekday lunch and have to say we were all impressed with the quality of the food, absolutely delicious. Also the staff are friendly and attentive. I have to say I generally do not order dessert as, quite frankly, it can be very disappointing - basically something bought in or frozen. But not here! All the desserts are made in the kitchen and are undoubtedly the grand finale of the meal. We were all very impressed and will definitely return to this delightful restaurant. Highly recommend.

The Bell Inn - Bovingdon

Bovingdon, Flaunden and Chipperfield, Dacorum
11/11/2019: This was my 2nd visit to this pub in the last year. Good friendly service and generous food portions, good food. Wouldn't hesitate to return.
09/11/2019: Had fish and chips which was lovely and a trifle for desert which was also great. Nice and friendly service.

The Star Inn

Walberswick and Wenhaston, Suffolk Coastal, <20£
07/11/2019: We visited here for lunch on our monthly cycle ride. The weather was wet and chilly. We walked into a busy bar with a substantial log fire. Excellent.
31/10/2019: We visited the evening we were staying in the village and so pleased we did. It was recommended we book a table, and although we were eating relatively early, half way through the evening pretty much all the tables were taken.
