Dambusters Inn

Scampton, West Lindsey
08/03/2019: Visited this pub for the first time, taking four Australian friends for the traditional English pub atmosphere with plenty of history thrown in. The pub didn’t disappoint, in fact we had a fabulous evening. Most opted for the Grimsby haddock (on my recommendation) and the chef certainly delivered - five portions of beautifully cooked fish, plus a very tasty ham sandwich. The pub is rightly famous for the quality and selection of beers, ales and ciders; I chose a pint of The Dambusters and it was the best pint of bitter I’ve had in years. The lady who took our orders worked like a Trojan, got everything right, was kind, polite, helpful and funny. The young chap behind the bar was also a pleasure to deal with. I can’t recommend highly enough - a hearty welcome, great service, wonderful food and fine ales.
05/03/2019: Well what can I say. The history in this pub is amazing. It signifies true hero's who took part in the Dam Busters raids in the second world war Long may they be remembered so much interesting stuff to read and look at. The owner is a true font of knowledge of the Dam Busters. The food is very good and the beer is great. This is a must return venue for all the above reasons.

Albion Tea Room

Market Rasen, West Lindsey, >100£
02/03/2019: Tasty well cooked food, nicely presented. Six friends met for lunch and we all enjoyed our two course meal.
02/03/2019: Given that it’s about twenty years since we last ate in Market Rasen, we walked past a few venues today and this one seemed the most appealing. It was an excellent choice.

MaCh Restaurant

Nettleham, West Lindsey, 20-30£
19/03/2019: Came with my partner for dinner. The food was so tasty. We went for the monday evening special taali which were both fab! The interior of the restaurant was so nice with candles and relaxing lights. Such a lovely place and the staff were very friendly which just made the evening perfect.
19/03/2019: Asked what we would like to drink but not offered a menu. When asking waiter asked why?. Suggested so we can see what available and the prices. Then was sarcasticly told 'it cheap! Service very slow and the staff gave the impression they really didnt care. Had 3 talis of different dishes and was not told which was which and they could'nt make out which asked. Plates were compartment metal dishes but we were given no plates or room to mix dishes. food bland and poor. Worst restaurant been in for a long time.

The Carpenters Arms

Fiskerton, West Lindsey, <20£
09/03/2019: Having booked onto the CL campsite in Fiskerton we checked Trips Advisor for local eateries. The Carpenters Arms was not only local but had good reviews. We were not disappointed our meals were generous, hot and well presented. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The bill at the end was a pleasant surprise. We would have no hesitation in recommending a visit.
27/02/2019: Our favourite eatery when visiting Lincoln. Excellent food, lovely welcoming staff and a pleasant atmosphere. About 15 mins drive from Lincoln City Centre.

Fox and Hounds

Lea, West Lindsey
10/03/2019: We have been here for many works events. The rooms are really cosy with good shower and hairdryer. Fantastic view of fields and horses.
27/02/2019: This was our third stay at this welcoming pub. The rooms are comfortable, some are bigger than others. The rooms are located in two blocks next to the main pub building, but only a few feet away.

Upton Fish Shop

Lea, West Lindsey, <20£
18/01/2019: Be prepared to be transported back to another era, a time when in typical British fashion, we queued without complaint and talked to those other hungry souls also queuing, about all manner of subjects like we'd known them all our lives. Well worth the wait!!
22/11/2018: Without question, the greatest fish and chips I have ever eaten - served out of an authentic, little shop. Fresh fish, crispy batter, flavoursome chips. And they rarely get it wrong! For me anyway. Not much more to be added. 5 out of 5. World class. And virtually on my door step, too. Aren’t I lucky?

kings head

Market Rasen, West Lindsey
14/03/2019: What a beautiful old building hidden away off the beaten track. Well worth a visit. A warm welcome awaits you at this pretty old inn. There is a lovely ambiance about the place that makes you feel so relaxed. Popped in late afternoon for a meal. Plenty of choice. I had the salmon on a bed of spring onion mash and kale. Absolutely beautifully cooked with a side plate of mixed vegetables. Couldn't fault it. Keep up the good work
02/03/2019: You will not find fault with this place. It has lovely decor, it is welcoming, the staff are courteous and efficient, and the food and menu are to die for!

The Wishing Well

Cherry Willingham, West Lindsey
08/02/2019: A smart and comfortable pub serving the local community and beyond. I enjoyed looking at the old prints of Lincoln through the decades. The toilets are modern, spotlessly clean and the fresh flowers were a lovely touch.
21/11/2018: After hearing about the great food I have to say we were all disappointed with the portion sizes except the 5 year old who had ample. It was cooked very well and tasted great. Just some of the mains on the Sunday menu (Not Sunday lunch) are like starters and at £10.50 overpriced for meal size.

Johnson's Fish & Chip shop

Gainsborough South-West, West Lindsey
03/03/2019: Called for the first time yesterday lunch and i have to say that they were the best fish and chips I have ever tasted. Choice of portion size and presented in a proper box.
21/02/2019: Fish and Chips were amazing as always and love the mushy peas! Lovely crispy batter not greasy at all - cooked to perfection! Will be back

The Cross Keys Country Inn & Restaurant

Stow, West Lindsey
19/03/2019: Menu variable to suit all tastes, in a charming location. High praise indeed & will book again. Before or after you can then enjoy a look round the historical St Mary’s church, the mother church to Lincoln Cathedral.
17/03/2019: My first visit to The Cross Keys, found it to be a warm and charming Inn, won't be our last visit. Greeted on arrival by the charming Ruth on the bar who went out of her way to help. Front of house was Hayley, Dawn & Chelsie who were all, extremely charming & attentive, nothing was too much trouble. The food was out of this world, not only was it exceedingly well cooked but there was plenty of it. A lovely menu with good choices at sensible prices. Our congratulations to all in the Kitchen

Papa's Fish and Chip Restaurant

Gainsborough South-West, West Lindsey
19/03/2019: I went to play golf ️‍♂️ yesterday in Gainsborough, we arrived at the restaurant at 5.00.We were hungry so we ordered a selection of starters , prawn tempura, fish goujons , mushrooms , halumi cheese , very generous portions to say the least. I then ordered the fish and chips with mushy peas , superb !, the staff were very attentive and couldn’t do enough . The restaurant itself is very nice , lovely decor and spotlessly clean.. also very busy for a Monday night , if you are in the area I would highly recommend Adams Bay.
16/03/2019: We have had takeaway from Adams Bay and it’s wonderful and tasty. This time we decided to have lunch in the restaurant. The food was excellent. Really tasty and top quality fish. Great size portions and really good value for money. Great service too. Highly recommend for a treat!

Prezzo - Gainsborough

Gainsborough South-West, West Lindsey
19/03/2019: The experience was warm and welcoming from the start and the seating was perfect for any shape or size or disability. In-fact I saw a good mix of every genre treated with the same respect as the next.(unusual in these times) The food was very tasty, My Mum and I had the 3 course menu at £13.99 and it was amazing value. Calamari (perfectly cooked reminded me of trips to South Africa) Chicken in Madeira sauce with a side from the main menu, escalloped and wood fired perfection. To follow chocolate tat with salted caramel and space dust and cream. Well done staff excellent XXXXX
15/03/2019: I have to admit I wasn't expecting too much from this place after all these chain Italian places can be very much the same..However I have to say both the food and service was of better standard than I was expecting and we all enjoyed it..

The Inn on the Green

Scampton, West Lindsey
03/03/2019: I booked a table for two for 5:30pm on the Saturday afternoon. I visited with my husband, it is a place we used to visit years ago. We were really early, Elissa served us the drinks we requested ( I had Prosecco my husband a white wine which he asked if he could have a little taster of to make sure he liked it before buying a glass, this was no problem at all). We told Elissa we had a table booked but were an hour early she asked if we wanted to sit on the comfy sofas in the bar area or go to our table, we chose to sit in the bar area and enjoy pre dinner drinks. A little while later we were brought menus to look at, we both chose the Homemade salmon and chive fish cakes with sweet chilli jam starter but to have as a main with chunky chips and salad. Once our food was ready we were shown to our table. The food was perfect for what we wanted presented nicely too. Elissa came back to ask if everything was ok which it was. We will certainly go back, the food was lovely, the pub has lots of quirky extras.......different homemade gins, a cookbook and homemade preserves for sale etc. Elissa was so attentive, friendly and welcoming she is an asset to the pub.
25/11/2018: We had lunch here as part of a very large party - the food, service and hospitality was absolutely superb and we cannot recommend highly, enough, many thanks for a fantastic job.
