The White Hart Grafton Regis

Cosgrove and Grafton, South Northamptonshire, 20-30£
10/03/2019: My husband & I visited for lunch today. I had the beef topside which was the best beef I’ve had in a long time! It was tender & tasty. My husband chose the chicken which he said was ok. Both dishes arrived with 2 Yorkshire puddings per plate ( we couldn’t manage both). There were loads of potatoes - new & roast - a side of vegetables each consisting of broccoli, carrots, cauliflower & cabbage plus gravy. All in all very good value for money. I’m sorry to say that we were too full to try the puddings!
10/03/2019: From the initial warm welcome to the end of the meal the staff could not have been better .Food was hot and very good ,we were a party of 7and accustomed to going out for Sunday lunch but the white hart was exceptional .Will have no problem recommending this establishment to our friends

The Plough Inn - Shutlanger

Tove, South Northamptonshire, >100£
03/03/2019: Fabulous Sunday lunch, fantastic service. Excellent choice on the menu, wine list and at the bar, we all had 2 courses, plus coffee and couldn’t fault a single thing.
24/02/2019: Had Sunday lunch today, greeting was warm with big smile. We both had Sunday roast, one lamb, the other was turkey (special, locally sourced). Food and presentation was outstanding, with tastes to match! Also had the ginger cheesecake ... which my wife described as 'heaven on a plate' (and she doesn't normally do desserts). Add a nice bottle of Chilean Sauvignon and jug of ice cold water too. Great meal and service was second to none ... we'll be back to try the evening menu!

White Horse

Kings Sutton, South Northamptonshire, 20-30£
16/03/2019: We went on a Sunday evening with another couple who had been before. It was clear when we arrived that they had had a very busy day. We ordered G&T;'s and they had run out of gin glasses. Not a problem just an observation!! There was one lady sitting the bar who was a waitress who had come off duty who looked exhausted. I know she can sit there but she was right in the middle of the bar with her head in her phone and didn't even notice people trying to get to the bar. That aside it's a nice place and we got seated quickly. The waitress was lovely but kept saying it had been a long day. Therefore there were a number of things that had ran out, soup and one of the desserts. My husband and ordered the salad to start. It was amazing. So good. Then I ordered the steak and my husband the Sunday roast. The steak was cooked perfectly and it came with a little bowl of chips separately. It was a little odd though when the steak arrived because that was all there was on the plate. No garnish, no veg, nothing else. Even a grilled tomato would have helped. The meal was nice but I ended up pinching some of the veg from the Sunday roast and could have done with some kind of sauce. I ordered ice cream for afterwards and the salted Carmel was so creamy we think they put the wrong scoop in and we had cream as it didn't taste of salted Carmel. The apple crumble was a hit though and went in seconds. This place is nice and I would go back but maybe when it's been not quite so hectic so we could try what we wanted to and the staff were not so exhausted!!
12/03/2019: Had lunch here today and loved it. Beautiful pub, very friendly staff and a lovely cosy fire place with a sofa, I didn't want to leave.

Hummingbirds Bistro Brackley

Brackley South, South Northamptonshire
10/03/2019: Varied menu to suit everyone, really nice staff everything home cooked. Only open for coffee and lunches but they have frequent speciality evenings which are great fun!
04/03/2019: We came here with 4 generations of the family, Great Nana, Nannie, Granddad, myself and my daughter. The two ladies who run this place are Tracey and Nikki and they are very personable and friendly. The menu is small but extremely well executed with generous portions. We had an omelette, a cheeseburger, mixed breaded fish and chips and the sampler as well as a salted caramel sundae.

The Folly Inn

Towcester Brook, South Northamptonshire, 30-45£
18/03/2019: As always when we go to the Folly the food and service was great. We went with some friends who have never been before and they though it was great too. =See you soon
18/03/2019: Innovative, fresh, locally sourced, beautifully cooked and presented food. Service was also attentive without being stifling. The Malbec was lovely too!! We will be back

Courtyard Cafe

Brackley South, South Northamptonshire
05/03/2019: Popped in here for first time. Had wonderful butternut squash soup and poached eggs on toast. All freshly prepared, hot and served with delicious granary bread.
24/01/2019: Popped in for a takeaway sandwich and it was amazing - doorstep bread with generous filling of coronation chicken and salad. Carrot cake wasn't bad either!

The Larder Deli - Eatery

Brafield and Yardley, South Northamptonshire, <20£
21/02/2019: We received a very warm welcome from Helen and her staff. We weren't sure if the cafe area was open though as it was unlit. We turned the lights on and chose somewhere to sit. It's quite a small cafe area but the lovely friendly helpful staff more than made up for it and we were the only people there so had their full attention. The food was tasty. We had a cold choice but hot food and a couple of specials were an option. There is seating outside but I'm not sure if it is for the Deli Cafe or the one next door. It was too cold to sit outside on our visit day but I think in warmer weather it would be glorious. A lovely courtyard with nice little shops. The Deli has some great food stuffs for everyone including vegetarian, vegan and gluten free. Will definitely return.
17/12/2018: Great food albeit spaces limits choice a little. Well worth a visit for the range of shops here and the buttery as a place to eat

Great Western Arms

Little Brook, South Northamptonshire
05/03/2019: Eight of us gathered for an evening out on a busy Friday evening. We were warmly welcomed and drinks served promptly. The staff were wonderful and despite being so busy our order was taken with good humour and patience. The food was as good as ever. All of us enjoyed tasty, well presented food and portions being generous. We arrived with great expectations and we were not let down in the slightest. The GWA is just a lovely place to eat. Give it a go if you have not been.
02/03/2019: A group of eight were royally looked after at this excellent pub. The food was delicious, tasty, hot and attentively served. The pub is comfortable and welcoming and we made choices from across the menu. Our beer lovers were more than happy with the range on offer. In fact, we had a thoroughly enjoyable evening out.

Super Sausage Cafe

Whittlewood, South Northamptonshire
15/03/2019: Super cafe for both bikers and cars as well. Just be aware of the parking. Food is great breakfast menu. The que will be out the door but the wait is worth it.
13/03/2019: My son and I used to have breakfast here after a swim when he was little. We now live in Towcester my son is a six foot strapping lad and last weekend we would have a change and decided to give Super sausage a try again and are glad we did. The place was packed inside and out but we didn't have to wait long for a place to sit. I loved being able to show my son some of the bikes I had ridden and the stars I had seen racing back in the day. We chose from the main menu but there was also a specials board. I had a breakfast and my son had a chicken burger with a side of coleslaw and chips. The food was prepared fresh and arrived hot and quickly, as an understatement the portions were generous. I had a coffee which was average by todays standards.

The Lion

Old Stratford, South Northamptonshire
03/03/2019: I arranged for my walking group to have lunch here. We were able to pre order and use the facilities before the walk. The landlord was welcoming and friendly and ready for us. We were back for lunch which was served promptly. There were a variety of dishes and all were presented very well and delicious to eat. Prices were very reasonable for the quality and portion size. The pub is delightful in side. Thank you so much. Highly recommended.
23/12/2018: We all really enjoyed our food, great choice, and the staff were friendly. The pub/restaurant was very welcoming and had a lovely relaxed atmosphere. Unfortunately the bill was wrong, it wasn’t itemised and it took a while to sort out. The staff did take this on board and it got sorted, but it’s a shame when this happens. We find this happening often at other places we eat at and it becomes a bit of a nuisance. This wouldn’t put us off returning.

The Old Crown

Salcey, South Northamptonshire
19/03/2019: We visited The Old Crown while we were away for an evening, staying nearby. The B&B; we stayed at recommended this place and their recommendation was spot on. Some great beers, a lovely meal in a family oriented pub. What's not to like? Highly recommended.
14/03/2019: We originally looked to have some lunch at a pub in Hartwell but when we got there at 1.00pm it was closed! We allowed the tarmac to guide us and stumbled across this delightful pub. Lunch was great - Beef Blade and Sea Bass with Directors bitter on draft. We loved it. Just a pity that we are not local as we would like to visit more often.

New Inn Abthorpe

Washington, South Northamptonshire
15/02/2019: My husband and I took some friends to meet other friends at The New Inn tonight and we're so pleased we chose there. We had heard good reports and it lived up to its reputation. Menu choices were varied. Food was piping hot and delicious. Staff were friendly and efficient. We will certainly go again.
14/02/2019: We're a bit biased because we love this great little pub, but we really did have a fabulous meal for Valentine's night.

Rose and Crown

Steane, South Northamptonshire
17/02/2019: We have eaten here several times before in this lively, child and dog friendly, very busy, country pub. All staff friendly, welcoming and helpful. The food was delicious and sensibly priced, we had a Roast Pork Sunday lunch - faultless ! We also recommend the Rose and Crown for it's very good range of real ales. Thank you for a Grand Lunch Out.
05/02/2019: Absolutely fantastic Burns night from the team at the Rose. Great piper, but getting 'proper' haggis from Scotland made all the difference. Attention to detail is the hallmark of this fantastic pub.

The Crown Inn

Washington, South Northamptonshire, >100£
03/03/2019: Just stayed at the Crown Inn in Weston last night. The food was lovely The staff couldn’t do enough for you. Lovely friendly pub most defiantly be going back.
