John's House Restaurant

Stanford, Rushcliffe
11/12/2018: Just don't bother with this team. We booked online through their online booking system. Following this, we had tried and tried to contact the home to confirm the booking to be told that they know nothing about our booking. This team do not respond to emails nor messages and as such you have to wait for a response. To not even be offered a solution to this in the way of being put onto a waiting list for example. The last comment of "well, we'll leave that with you then". Its just not good enough. Leave that with me - you complete idiots - you have lost a customer that lives only up the road and enjoys a good meal out. Although i haven't tasted the food - i have remarked as excellent due to the good reviews - but their customer service is terrible. We will now go to Alchemilla in Nottingham again instead.
11/12/2018: I took the family to our 'on the doorstep' Michelin starred restaurant. Service and food were both excellent and a memorable time was had by all. Not a fan of the sliced gin and as it was a busy night we had nowhere to sit for our pre dinner drinks. Aside from this I would definitely recommend. Pricey but worth it for a special occasion!

Perkins Restaurant

Wolds, Rushcliffe, 60-100£
11/12/2018: Just back from lunch at Perkins. We took two special guests. We last paid a visit here in January.
11/12/2018: Our daughter-in-law found this bistro for our 36th wedding anniversary(today). But as our Surname is Perkins and we were married the same year as the bistro was opened it’s very surreal to go there on the date we were married.

Yeung Sing Restaurant

Bingham East, Rushcliffe, >100£
17/12/2018: Let Sunday afternoon lunch and just as good as ever. Love the whole feel of Yeung Sing with a warm welcome and friendly service. Slight mix up on our starters but soon put right with a smile. Freshly cooked food, good choice on the menu, and so so tasty. Delicious meal from start to finish ... thank you.
16/12/2018: Have had a few takeaways from here previously and really loved them, so decided to have a family night out and selected a set menu to make life easy - big mistake. The starters and the crispy duck were excellent and perhaps we should have just had that and chosen individual mains - very disappointing and at £40 per head - including 2 bottles of wine between 8 we felt it was not the best value for money. The last takeaway for 4 cost not much more than £40! Fortunately the food was not our main reason for our night out as a family.......

Langar Hall Restaurant

Wiverton, Rushcliffe, 45-60£
13/12/2018: The worst food I've ever tasted. The vegetarian mains option was a so called cauliflower dish
02/12/2018: We were hoping that Langar Hall would become our regular go to restaurant after experiencing some exceptional food there previously this year, however we visited last night (1st December), and were left really disappointed and £140 lighter. We arrived for our 7.15pm table at 7.05pm only to be greeted with a " you had better dive on the sofa quickly to get a seat". We thought no more, but this was then followed minutes later with a young woman asking us if we knew what we wanted to eat as a party was coming in and they wanted our order. Bearing in mind this was before we even should have been due to arrive in the first place we thought it was very odd. The meal itself in terms of food quality was great, but we had eaten three courses and had coffee by 8.15pm. Rushed was an understatement, and the service was very poor, before we were seated our starters arrived, we had to ask for bread, etc etc. It was far from the relaxing evening out we were really looking forward to. Langar Hall had clearly bitten off more than it could chew on Saturday, with parties etc going on, however if you can't service your bread and butter clientele properly at the same time, then something needs to be done to rectify this. We mentioned our issues to front of house but the usual lady was not around and we didn't really feel that the problem was dealt with properly. What a real shame!

Trent Bridge, Rushcliffe
13/12/2018: Me and my wife visited this place today with children for a cake and coffee. We were surprised how big and spacious the place was. It was our first time there and we will come back for sure. Coffee and cake were £4 and to upgrade your coffee to latte or cappuccino it’s only 50p. The size and variety of the cakes were amazing. So overall you won’t find better place in West Bridgford where to have a nice coffee with tasty and decent size cake.
08/12/2018: We usually come here for coffee and cake during the day, which is always very good. Last night we visited for a meal. The food from the Christmas menu was absolutely delicious, loved it all. The cocktails were yummy too. So impressed with the service, the staff were delightful, and really attentive even though it was a busy Friday night. The singer brought a nice touch to the atmosphere. Excellent.

Manvers, Rushcliffe, 30-45£
18/12/2018: 7 of us gathered at this brilliant restaurant local to the family. It’s a lovely restaurant with attentive staff and a good atmosphere. The variety on the menu is spectacular and they had specials too, even on a Sunday evening.
17/12/2018: We had another great night at Venezia last night with our family and friends, food and service were fantastic as always!

Three Spices

Ruddington, Rushcliffe
30/11/2018: Really great restaurant, I’ve never had a bad meal here! There are some really good dishes on the main menu and the food is always delicious, there is a Monday night taster night and a Tuesday banquet night that are definitely worth a visit. The service is always welcoming and friendly and I can’t rate the place highly enough
25/11/2018: There were 7 of us. We had a variety of dishes between us. Everything was very good and the service also good.

The Durham OX

Thoroton, Rushcliffe, <20£
10/12/2018: This is the second time we have based our walk around this pub as the Beer and the Sunday Lunches are excellent and there is always a warm welcome from the Landlord. The food was of a high quality and we were served together which doesn't always happen when dining as part of a large group. The choice of starters was good and the Pate was particularly good this week as was the Prawn Cocktail. There was plenty of choice of meat with an option to have a mixture or double up for a larger portion. The Lamb Shank special proved to be worth the small extra charge and all meals were served with all the trimings and plenty of fresh vegetables. It's not always possible to please everyone in a group of 10 but this pub ticks all the boxes and we will be back soon by popular request!
26/11/2018: Full marks to the chef for producing an excellent Sunday lunch. The Pheasant Terrine for a starter was a bonus. There was plenty to eat in the main course and the Sticky toffee Pudding and Chocolate Brownie didn't touch the sides.

The Horse & Plough Bingham

Bingham East, Rushcliffe
04/11/2018: My hubby and I have never been before, & we were looking for somewhere to have Sunday lunch, when a local person recommended them to us.
28/10/2018: Had heard great reviews about the horse and plough, what a disappointment my daughter and 2 granddaughters thought we would go for Sunday lunch, we both ordered homemade soup as starters and roast beef for main, my daughter got her soup and then the waitress disappeared I never got mine and there wasn’t any one in the restaurant to tell,we ordered drinks which took 1/2 to come, I asked where my starter was when she came to clear my daughters plate, was asked if I wanted it then, I said no as we had been waiting awhile for her plate to be cleared, my main came and was cold so I sent it back, it came back 10 mins later still cold but on a really hot plate, still with the horseradish I had put on before.

The Royal Oak

Oak, Rushcliffe, >100£
11/12/2018: We visited these premises earlier in the years and had a great time so we decided to visit again. We stayed for a long weekend on the caravan site at the rear of the premises (with friends) and eat twice in the pub. The welcome was very friendly with a great range of food and beer, and the atmosphere is second to none, you may be a visitor but you leave as a friend. Excellent attentive detail from Richard,Vicky and their team.
02/12/2018: Absolutely beautiful Sunday lunch excellent service lovely food, cannot recommend this place enough for lovely home cooked tasty food

Cafe Piano

Trent, Rushcliffe, 20-30£
14/12/2018: This lovely little restaurant catered for a special birthday lunch last week. They were extremely helpful and made the occasion very special. The food was delicious and the staff very friendly and efficient. Every thing we wanted.

Cote Brasserie - West Bridgford

Trent Bridge, Rushcliffe, 30-45£
11/11/2018: We had a table booked for five people at 8.00. On arrival at that time, we were advised that they were just "clearing the table". More than 20 minutes later we were finally shown to our table - which WE had spotted and pointed out to the "front of house" guy!
11/11/2018: I arranged to meet a friend at Cote, its not my town so had no prior knowledge of it. Was surprised we had to book for lunch time and our first request was refused, I was therefore very surprised to arrive and find the place practically empty of diners. Possibly its because of shortage of staff they limit the times of bookings. The food however was good but there was for me as a very fussy eater, not a lot of choice and I thought very pricey. There is parking quite nearby which is always useful to know. I wouldn't go again.

Mewar Haveli Indian Restaurant

Gamston, Rushcliffe
02/12/2018: The setting was nice and the staff were very polite, friendly and helpful but the food was just ok. Not bad but not amazing. The food and drinks are overpriced for the quality ( have had the same or better elsewhere for less.) 2 people and a bill for nearly £80 is far too expensive compared to other restaurants I have eaten in (and that is what most people use to judge a place by, quality of food and price compared to other places they have eaten in) Also the menu lacked variety and description compared to other Indian restaurants I have eaten in. Note to manager, I did not expect to be charged £1.95 for 2 teaspoons of Raita!
Definitivamente visita

The Carriage Hall

Wolds, Rushcliffe
10/12/2018: We came here for the wedding evening party. The location is excellent and was very well presented. The drinks and the food were good. We had a great time here.
12/11/2018: Visited here for a work function. Was most impressed. Lovely building with tasteful interior. Ran the event like a well oiled machine. There were approximately 100 of us yet the food arrived promptly, was hot and tasted delicious. Staff were excellent but unobtrusive. Lovely place

The Neville Arms

Nevile, Rushcliffe, 20-30£
13/08/2018: Please note The team from here owner/foh/kitchen have now moved to The Windmill Inn at Redmile.
27/06/2018: We once again went to our favourite eating place for Father's Day lunch, and once again had a SUPERB lunch - totally delicious, every course was a sheer delight. We have eaten at Michelin Starred establishments, and this is the next best thing in our opinion - and local too!
