John's House Restaurant

Stanford, Rushcliffe
12/03/2019: Been meaning to try this Michelin starred restaurant for ages. Its very local to us, and we had heard good things. My wife’s birthday provided the reason to finally cross the threshold of this quaint farmhouse based eatery.
08/03/2019: This was the second leg of my Birthday food tour and what a way to finish. The moment you enter the sitting room via a tiny reception with roaring fire you know you are in for something special. Once we had ordered our pre meal drink we were escorted upstairs to the dining room. We were not expecting such an amazing dining space, small and intimate, a mix of modern and old and white table clothes. ...perfect. The fòod that followed was amazing as was the fresh from the oven bread. The only shame was we had to drive home so could not sample any wine. We were totally impressed and will definitely be back again to sample the full tasting menu experience

The Royal Oak

Oak, Rushcliffe, >100£
19/03/2019: We moved to the area a few months ago so this is our local. It is worth moving for! Warm, friendly welcome, cosy surroundings and excelllent home cooked food reasonably priced. The bread and butter pudding is to die for!
18/03/2019: My parents favourite eatery. They have been going pretty much weekly for the last few years and we have had birthday celebrations and other such family events there. The hosts Richard and Vicky are just as village pub hosts should be. They go out of their way to help in anyway they can. The food is excellent. Pretty basic pub fayre, but an extensive menu and always lots of specials. You know what you are getting and the standard never fails.

Perkins Restaurant

Wolds, Rushcliffe, 60-100£
03/03/2019: It’s been a long time since I’ve been here, ashamedly, and I was really impressed. Layout light and airy, attentive but not intrusive staff, and a very good prix fixe lunch menu.
23/02/2019: Wow what can I say... if I’m totally honest I’ve been here a few times. It is honestly one of my favourite places to go for food!

Yeung Sing Restaurant

Bingham East, Rushcliffe, >100£
17/03/2019: Having spent a few months in China back in the noughties, I often find myself yearning for good authentic Chinese fair. I was delighted to find exactly that in Bingham of all places.
13/03/2019: We came to the yeung sing for my beautiful lady’s Birthday meal. I have eaten at a few Chinese and Cantonese restaurants but they don’t compare to the yeung sing. I am not going to go through all the dishes as there were too many to mention but what I will say is that every dish we ordered, and we ordered a whole load of starters and mains, was fresh, hot and tasty as. Everything was just perfect. The hosts are amazing, nothing is an issue and they accommodate any needs you may have. The restaurant feels authentic and is spotlessly clean. This restaurant has something that a lot of restaurants don’t. You go out for a meal and are sat at tables where you are either too close to people, small tables to accommodate as many customers as possible or you have a large family sat at a long table so you don’t get to see half your family. Everything I have just mentioned does not apply to the yeung sing. Large round tables with loads of room between you and other tables. That tells me that they care about their guests experience.

Three Spices

Ruddington, Rushcliffe
03/03/2019: This is the 3rd time we have visited and the food was excellent, there was 7 of us who all had different dishes and all tasted fabulous, nothing was to much bother for the staff and looked after us ,if you fancy an Indian not in the city then this is the place .
03/03/2019: Decided to try a new curry house. Three spices is attached to a local pub but there is a side entrance if you don’t want to go through the pub. Seated immediately on arrival after booking on line for 7.30 sitting. Table service throughout was very polite and very efficient. Our starters were the green pepper and onion bhaji . Both beautifully presented. My bhaji has the most amazing ball of carrot and beetroot with basil leaves in the middle ! Main courses were just as good. Try the chef specialities if you go. Only downside was a group of lads in at the same time who were very very noisy so you couldn’t hear yourself speak. Even though we asked the staff to ask them to quieten down they didn’t want to get involved. We were not the only couple to make comment. Spoilt the evening somewhat but as the food was great we will go again. If the restaurant is as noisy we will choose a takeaway instead! The special nights and taster nights look good value so we will have to go again !

Manvers, Rushcliffe, 30-45£
11/03/2019: A group of friends went for a birthday meal, and I must say, everything about the place was spot on. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the staff are so professional, all the mains came out at the same time and the food was superb. I would recommend it to anyone as I can't find anything to fault, apart from the fact that it's a long way out.
23/02/2019: We visited this restaurant on the 08.02.19. for my wife’s birthday. Having been recommended by friends we were well and truly impressed with the venue, staff, and food. We could not fault anything at all. This will become a restaurant we will visit on a regular basis. Thank you all.

The Durham OX

Thoroton, Rushcliffe, <20£
14/03/2019: Visit as a group and we were impressed with the friendly service, and food with the exception of the battered fish which was OK, but not great - it seemed like it was a frozen battered fish portion rather than fresh fish battered in house (I hope I'm not being unfair, but that is what it seemed like) despite this slight disappointment we had a good night an will be back.
09/03/2019: Fantastic homemade pie and delicious chips; a must have every time. Overheard that the pork was very good too!

Trent Bridge, Rushcliffe
11/03/2019: We had a variety of tapas meals. The service was quick. Delicious food, wide variety menu for normal portions and tapas portions. Good choice of soft drinks and alcoholic drinks. Child friendly areas were also available. I did not notice parking immediately outside, but parking may be available near by.
02/03/2019: Went with 5 friends and we all ordered about 4 dishes- everything was delicious! Would definitely need to book as very busy but worth it, great selection of drinks/cocktails too. Lost a rating due to the staff not being as on the ball as they could have been (reservation issues, incorrect items on bill) but will for sure return.

Langar Hall Restaurant

Wiverton, Rushcliffe, 45-60£
10/03/2019: Have to say that the food was a half and half experience. My husband enjoyed his starter and lamb but I can't say the same for mine. I started with salmon and beetroot that was drowned in creme friache. Followed by crispy tortellini which tasted deep fried and greasy. Even my rich chocolate dessert wasn't great so after two mouthfuls I gave up and left it. Shame the food wasn't as nice as the amuse-bouches served in the bar area which were fantastic.
06/03/2019: My son’s 16th birthday was a joy, celebrated in muted, tasteful style with glorious food and the best service we have received in a long time! Dedicating the menu to him was a humorous and welcoming touch. Thank you.

Cafe Piano

Trent, Rushcliffe, 20-30£
26/12/2018: Very much enjoyed our evening at this lovely restaurant. 11 of us enjoyed lovely food; almost all different and served together by great staff.

23/01/2019: I came on wednesday night for a meal with my partner, we were amazed by the whole evening! From the minuet we entered the staff were very kind and polite and catered to all of our needs, the food was marvellous and at a great price for the quality of food and the atmosphere was postive throughout. We will definitely be coming again and would recommend to anybody!

The Royal Oak

Oak, Rushcliffe, 20-30£
01/03/2019: We called in on route to the Park District for a lunch stop. Had a fantastic lunch and they also had my favourite ale, London Pride.
17/02/2019: Been here before and my daughter was at home for the weekend and asked to go here. The meal was fantastic and my daughter loved it. service was excellent too.

Kings Head Pub

Soar Valley, Rushcliffe
11/03/2019: My Wife and I were looking for somewhere fresh to try for a meal, she could remember one of her friends saying as how they went regularly to The King's Head in Sutton Bonnington with an elderly relative and how much they liked it so we thought we would give it a try.
08/03/2019: A friendly, family run pub with a very good selection of pies. The food is traditional from the UK, prepared with care and attention. We tasted the steak and Guinness pie and the 3S (steak, stout and stilton) pie and both were very tasty. The dessert list was appetizing but we could only manage to share one between the two of us. Prices are really reasonable taking into account the quality and the portion size.

The Carriage Hall

Wolds, Rushcliffe
12/02/2019: De principio a fin, el personal de Carriage Hall fue increíble, ¡muy servicial y bien organizado!
30/01/2019: Well presented and sweet decor Nice place in general But cold but lovely especially the beef😬😬😬👻

Mewar Haveli Indian Restaurant

Gamston, Rushcliffe
19/03/2019: Very nice Indian food with excellent service, we visited on a Saturday night and it was extremely busy, even so the service was quick and pleasant, the food was good and well served
19/03/2019: First visit to Haveli after recommendation. Lived up to our expectations. Amazing service and lovely food! Couldn’t have been better
