Buxton Central, High Peak, 30-45£
01/03/2019: Two of us ate here on a quiet Wednesday night, the fish was beautifully cooked, the restaurant was clean and inviting, a very pleasant evening. Well worth visiting.
25/02/2019: Had a meal on Saturday night and was very, very impressed again. The staff are attentive and the place is always clean and beautifully presented too. I chose the special Skrei fish dish and was not disappointed. It came with scallops that were soft and delicious, a pesto sauce, fresh veggies that were cooked just right, pan fried potatoes and provencale veg too. My partner had steak with a pepper sauce, which he reliably informed me was also very good. Pudding was pear and frangipani tart, warm with cream for me, simply delicious. My partner had ice cream with a shot of liqueur, which he loved as it was light and just perfect to end the meal. All in all, highly recommended. I shall be visiting again.

Buxton Central, High Peak
09/03/2019: My wife and I booked a table for 6-30 on a Friday which we thought was nice and early and not many in!
04/03/2019: Main restaurant fully booked, offered a table in the basement. Little concerned we might get forgotten down there. WRONG! Excellent service and food. Had the Lamb Chops, Moussaka and stuffed Peppers … Beautiful. And yes, it was full upstairs when we left. Will book next time!!

Rose Cottage Cafe

Hope Valley, High Peak, <20£
12/03/2019: We went to celebrate my daughter's and my birthday. There were six of us so we reserved a table. We all had the sunday roast. It was cooked to perfection plenty of meat and vegetables and yorkshire pudding. It was a dreadful day cold, wet and windy. The cafe was lovely and warm and cosy. The service was very good and all the staff were friendly and pleasant. I would really recommend it.
04/03/2019: We went mid week, arrived about 2pm for a late lunch. We were lucky to get a table, as the cafe was still busy. We ordered from the menu and were not disappointed, lovely grub, well presented, and prepared to order

Glossop Cafeteria

Howard Town, High Peak
02/03/2019: Just love this place. ALWAYS a very warm welcome and the food is brilliant and such a great price - WONDERFUL
24/02/2019: Visited here on a Sunday as other places were shut in Glossop. The welcome was lovely and whilst it’s nothing more than a standard caf they work really hard and leave you satisfied. The breakfast was all in all pretty good. I’d rather have better sausages but everything else was well cooked and hot so will know what to go for next time. There was a constant queue for tables the whole time we were there so they’re obviously doing something right.

Woodlands Guest House and Tea Rooms

St John's, High Peak
12/12/2018: We went as a family for Boxing Day 2017 all I can say is we were not disappointed the food was devine the service excellent. Could,t believe the value for money so sad they are not open this Boxing Day
10/12/2018: We enjoyed the view, location and food was delicious. Not the most child friendly but they didn’t mind that we had 4 kids with us!

The Three Roofs Cafe

Hope Valley, High Peak, >100£
13/03/2019: Popped in here for lunch when visiting Castleton. We worked up an appetite after visiting a carvern nearby.
11/03/2019: We called in for a hot drink on a very cold wet day,the service was fast and efficient and all the staff lovely and friendly and all came to pet our 2 dogs which was lovely as most people avoid staffies. They have a vast array of teas and coffees and the cakes looked amazing.I had a cappuccino which was hot and frothy and my partner had tea and a full English breakfast. The breakfast came out quickly and was hot and filling and he said the black pudding was the best he had in a long time.I would highly recommend this cafe as I could not fault anything.

11/03/2019: What a lovely setting for a family celebration! We were led through to the back room, a charming kitchen oozing atmosphere and warmth thanks to the aga.
10/03/2019: My husband and I stayed for one night, the food in the restaurant was just lovely, the staff were so polite and friendly ( nothing was too much trouble) especially the young lady that served us ( teaching assistant in the week) we didn’t catch her name . The landlord Dan was very helpful and offered to move us to the main hotel rather than staying in the paper mill as he explained it can be quite noisy till late

The Royal Oak Inn

Buxton Central, High Peak
19/03/2019: Am a regular visitor to the Royal Oak, whether it be with my family or friends. All my visits are for a meal and not just for a drink as this is more of a food pub with it being so rural, but it has a campsite and other accommodation if required and is only a few miles from Buxton and local villages.
19/03/2019: Very friendly staff as soon as we walked in, once we sat down the waiter who served us was excellent with the advice on what was on the menu. While we decided he brought us our drinks. When the food arrived could not thank the staff enough for the service and the food.

Casa di Pizza

Whaley Bridge, High Peak
13/03/2019: Nestling in the centre of Whaley Bridge, this family run restaurant offers Wonderful food. The dining area is a nice clean setting with great friendly service.
28/02/2019: Amazing atmosphere and food. Never been before thought it was a run of the mill pasta/pizza cafe. WRONG! Best Italian food I have had for ages and lovely staff. Everything we had was wonderful, except starter ribs which were a tad small. Courgette flowers for stater amazing and brilliant special board

Old Sun Inn

Buxton Central, High Peak
17/02/2019: A lovely typical Sunday roast no frills but was excellent. Good staff waitress was great from start to finish !
03/02/2019: Possibly the best meal the missus and I have ever had in a pub. It has a great layout for service as the bar is in the middle of the building and serves 3 rooms, one of which is the sports room (the only one with a TV screen) which we chose to watch a world cup game. Oh, and the beer was great.

The Lamb Inn

Blackbrook, High Peak, <20£
19/03/2019: A lovely old inn, warm and cosy and full of rustic charm. We were made to feel very welcome and the service was friendly and prompt. The food was excellent. The Lamb Henry was particularly delicious. Those of us who had a dessert were not disappointed. Definitely a place to revisit. Can highly recommend it.
14/03/2019: Four of us ate here on a Tuesday lunchtime and we all enjoyed the food. We had 2 starters each and we were full at the end. I had the pate and then the pork ribs: so tasty. Good real ale too, and the ladies said the wine was delicious. Fabulous, friendly service into the bargain.

The Packhorse Inn

New Mills West, High Peak, 20-30£
28/02/2019: Walked from Buxton today to the Packhorse and got the bus home (Number 442 bus stops right outside). This was one of our favourite places years ago and haven’t been for a while. Tried it today. It didn’t disappoint ! A walker/dog friendly proper country pub. Mick’s a great landlord, very friendly and attentive. A great selection of drinks on draught. Lovely food and great service. Credit goes to their chef/s and kitchen staff. We have booked again for this Sunday......
28/01/2019: Visited for lunch and were not disappointed, in fact quite the opposite. A roaring log burner wasn't the only thing to provide a warm welcome; the landlord was welcoming and chatty.

The Wanted Inn Pub

Hope Valley, High Peak
13/01/2019: Totally delicious Sunday dinner, just like your mum used to make. It’s not smart or trendy, but this is a great pub with friendly staff and very good traditional Sunday dinner
01/01/2019: Stopped in on New Year’s Day at lunch time after a two hour walk around Mam Tor... it had everything! Great atmosphere, and managed to drop in when it was a bit quiet... lovely owners and fab food! Coming back again :)
