Axe & Cleaver

North Somercotes, East Lindsey
03/12/2019: A very varied menu with lots of choice for all tastes and dietary preferences. All the vegetables were fresh and the food home cooked. The staff were very welcoming and couldn't do enough for us. All the meals were excellent value too, "Nuff said!
30/11/2019: We recently visited the nature reserve to see the seals and booked Sunday lunch here in advance which is very close to the seal viewing area.

Serendipity at The Priory

St James', East Lindsey
30/11/2019: Returned after our marriage here last year. So glad we did. Great welcome from Paul and the team. They remembered us of course. We had a fantastic wedding, some said it was the best they'd ever been to. Just saying. Our room was nicely appointed with a great touch of an anniversary card from the team. Then a knock on the door preceeded a complimentary sherry for us. Wow. The food comprised their famous taster menu. Fantastic local produce, not pretentious just nicely presented. Each course was fantastic. I think I counted 7 mains and 3 deserts. Included was a shot of tequila mixed with ginger beer and coriander. Amazing taste. Paul had time to chat after service with his guests and I'm sure received glowing praise for his food. The rest of the team were awesome and worked hard whilst being very nice and polite. My wife and I are in awe of this place and wished it was on our doorstep to frequent properly.
06/11/2019: Went to the priory for a birthday dinner which was lovely although the portions were a little small and they could do with more deals midweek

The Tea House in the Woods

Woodhall Spa, East Lindsey
27/11/2019: This is not the first time we have been here, but always before in the height of summer when sitting outside is really nice. But now, with a blazing fire and comfortable surroundings it is just as good inside. So many staff who all know what they are doing makes this a welcome experience. Most tastes are catered for and even a request for some variation of the menu can be met; like bacon and cheese melt instead of tuna and cheese. Perhaps bacon and cheese should occupy a permanent place on the menu (management to consider).
22/11/2019: Booked a table on a Saturday early evening prior to going next door to watch a film. The restaurant was nearly full when we arrived - we were shown straight to our table and within 20 mins we had our starters. Both the food and service were second to none. Plenty of staff who managed in an unobtrusive way to walk around ensuring that tables were cleared and courses brought out so that no one was kept waiting for the food. The food was cooked to perfection and the cheeseboard was big enough for us to share.

23/11/2019: Quite simply having tried most other pubs in and around the area we continue to revisit and are regularly coming for dinner every few weeks as the food, service and atmosphere are of the highest quality. The food options are great, portion sizes huge, the homemade onion rings are amazing.

The Coach House

Halton Holegate, East Lindsey
02/12/2019: We booked for Sunday lunch. We were a party of 6. We sat next to a radiator, but the place was still cold. We were wearing shirts and jumpers, but it was still cold. They had 2 large fireplaces, which were unlit. Boo! Which is a shame. The meal was lovely, well priced and plentiful. The service was friendly and efficient. If they sort out the heating they would be on to a winner.
29/11/2019: What a lovely place, we popped in for a light lunch and wow the food it was fantastic. The facilities are both nice and clean and well maintained. The staff are friendly and helpful. The only criticism i could say would be to improve on the signage outside as we nearly drove passed it as we throught it was a house, but once inside it is a great place to visit and eat in. Looking forward to going back again.

San Rufo's

St Clement's, East Lindsey
17/11/2019: The restaurant was good but not quite great. The serice was warm and friendly and the food was good just didnt stand out to be great. Would go there again as its certainly worth a visit. Thanks Martin
16/11/2019: We came for a weekend of motocross racing and I don't know the area so went of what trip said so glad we did it was delicious best Italian I have had and will be returning next year. The portion sizes are big and a very reasonable price to which is a bonus.

Horncastle, East Lindsey
04/12/2019: Having had a superb meal here last month we decided to give the "beat the clock" a try as it seemed very good value.
01/11/2019: We went last night for our anniversary meal and I had one of the best steak meals ever. Not being a lover of fat on my meat I am wary ordering steak but the young server was so eloquent in his description of the dish that I took a chance. I was not disappointed! It was so tender it took no cutting,I swear that you could have cut it with a fork!

The Ranch Steakhouse & Grill

Priory, East Lindsey, 20-30£
07/12/2019: As the title says this was our first visit to the Ranch and all our party of 4 really enjoyed our meals, all served hot and delicious too. Unfortunately I didn't get the name of the young lady who served us but she was very professional and friendly. Had to book well in advance and now I understand why, very busy but loads of elbow room . Look forward to returning soon . Only slight niggle was the temp was a couple of degrees low in the restaurant.
02/12/2019: We went on a Sunday which was, as ever fully booked. Thought we would do the review by highlighting the good and bad points. The good - the food was delicious and of course - ample portions ! The staff were very friendly and efficient and nothing seems to be too much trouble for them. At the Ranch's old place the meals sometimes took an age to come. However, since the move, the kitchen has obviously upgraded and the food came out to us in very good time and was not an issue. The bad - we couldn't think of a thing ! We would heartily recommend the Ranch for a really good meal and an excellent night out.

The Blue Bell Inn

Tetford, East Lindsey
03/12/2019: They tolerated the invasion of a party of 21 at lunchtime.
05/11/2019: Visited with hubby for lunch out after seeing the seals at Donna Nook. A very warm and welcoming pub with lovely, friendly staff. We both had Beer Battered Haddock & Chips which was absolutely fantastic, so fresh with excellent crispy batter. Unfortunately we had no room for pudding! Would have no hesitation in visiting again when next in the area.

Ali's Indian Restaurant

Holton le Clay, East Lindsey
27/11/2019: Excellent meal, great selection. Starters are superb. Milder recipe and extra vegetable requested and not disappointed. Food always hot and staff very attentive. Ali's special dishes are definitely to be tried.
16/11/2019: Booked a table after reading reviews. Definitely not disappointed. Small, clean little restaurant. Staff super attentive and the food delicious. I went away from my usual norm and took a bit of a gamble and probably made a wrong choice for me personally, but even so it was beautiful, well cooked and hot. Fiancé really enjoyed his meal too. Will be returning. Very much recommended.

Fat Seagull

Sutton on Sea South, East Lindsey, <20£
30/10/2019: Truly wonderful food, friendly service, good atmosphere. All in all a lovely experience, which myself and my daughters look forward to repeating again soon!
29/10/2019: We love a day trip to the Lincs coast when its quieter after the summer season. Lunch at the Fat Seagull makes it special. Always a warm welcome, small enough to offer prompt, personal service, but do book in advance even in the off season as it's always busy and closed some days. The verandah outside has rugs and is great for just a cup of coffee or if your dog's been for a romp in the sea. Choices on the blackboard menu are limited but varied and interesting. I was offered four gluten free choices and settled for the inevitable cod (nicely grilled) chips and mushy peas, my partner opted for steak pie, both of which were freshly cooked and delicious. Tea/coffee was served in pretty china cups with plenty of it. We would have stayed for pudding if g/f options (other than ice cream) were available. Best of all a trip to the Seagull won't break the bank. Highly recommended, but don't all come at once!

Bar Castillejar Louth

Priory, East Lindsey, <20£
27/11/2019: Have visited previously and loved it but was disappointed with “laissez faire” service today and had to return one dish as firstly not authentic Spanish, and secondly not cooked properly. Complained to waitress who spoke to the chef and she came back and said “ it was as per the menu description and was cooked” and to add insult to injury they added it to the bill and we had to complain again to get it removed.
17/11/2019: Good food and a nice change from the usual types of food on offer but the 2 hour time limit on the table takes the shine off particularly when you’ve had the menu for over 20 minutes and still no-one has taken your order but your minutes are ticking away. Tapas is more the social aspect of meeting with friends, socialising and eating. It is a little restrictive to socialise against the clock when there’s half a dozen or more of you. Good food, pleasant location and if you’re already pushed for time you might appreciate the limits. Would not recommended for an evening of relaxing wining and dining.
