Norbury, Derbyshire Dales
02/12/2018: We were given a voucher to eat here as a birthday present from friends who adore the place & felt we needed to know why! Wow! We really loved the whole experience & loved the way each dish was explained and presented. There was no hurry to eat up or drink up. Leave at least 2 1/2 hours ( we were there 3 hours!) It’s a place to go for a special reason & really soak it all up. Great food. Not cheap!!
01/12/2018: Great food, incredibly reasonable price compared with what you can pay in the major cities for similar dining experiences (but which do not match this for quality!).

Curry Cottage at Lovers Leap

Calver, Derbyshire Dales
11/12/2018: Great food at very reasonable prices: very convenient 'take away' for us; but also lovely place to 'eat in'.
10/12/2018: Curry Cottage is nestled away, directly beneath the towering cliffs of Lovers Leap, in close proximity to the Peak Forest and Eyam. The whole area is steeped in character, history and geological wonder. The layout of Curry Cottage maximises the potential of its surroundings.

Packhorse Inn

Litton and Longstone, Derbyshire Dales
04/01/2019: Don't get me wrong I love this pub its a great building with great staff and excellent beer. But just lately the food has in my opinion not quite as good as it was.
03/01/2019: We chose the Packhorse to go for my wife's birthday on Boxing day. We were not disappointed, the food was excellent, service was good even though the place was extremely busy. Good value for money. The place has a great vibe and atmosphere. To ensure a table it is advisable to book.

Stones Restaurant

Matlock All Saints, Derbyshire Dales, 45-60£
03/12/2018: Ate here with my husband for dinner in November having booked months in advance. We were on holiday in the area and had last visited nine years ago. Having enjoyed a fabulous meal on that occasion, we were keen to go again.
02/12/2018: Wonderful place to eat, superb food the service is amazing always The number one on my list, the menu and the tasting menu is second to none, make sure to book early because it is always fully booked

Bakewell, Derbyshire Dales
22/11/2018: We ate early on a Saturday evening but the restaurant soon filled up and I can see why as this was the best Indian meal that I've eaten for a good while. The popadums were crispy and the pickle tray had some different offering but the stars were the mains. These were clearly cooked by a chef who knows the intricacies of spice blending and was delicious - the rice was light and fluffy and the garlic naan delightful. The service was efficient but not overbearing - all at a reasonable price.
17/11/2018: The food, the service, the atmosphere all excellent as always. Once again we had the Southern Indian dishes. Chicken Chaat and fish starters, Lamb Nonna, Chicken Handi mains, can't praise this place enough! *****

The Green Way Cafe

Matlock All Saints, Derbyshire Dales, <20£
04/01/2019: We found this place by searching on Trip Advisor and we were so pleased, it definitely deserves all of its 5 stars! We went in thinking we'd just have a light lunch and ended up with starter, main and pudding!!! Lovely staff, great magazines to read and nice relaxed atmosphere. So nice to have all veggie options and so many vegan ones, especially cake and ice cream, delicious coffee too. Great to read their ethics on their website, always makes the food taste better! Thanks for a wonderful lunch.
12/12/2018: I couldn’t think of one bad thing about this cafe. The snack size is definitely enough for one person, the salad on the side of any dish you can choose is absolutely delicious! We’ve visited quite a few times and will definitely be returning, staff are very friendly and it has a lovely homely atmosphere. You’ve cracked it!!!

Hathersage Social Club

Hathersage and Eyam, Derbyshire Dales
08/12/2018: Staff were really freindly & helpful, Food was lovely, I had Winter Veg Stack..Nice drinks before the meal upstairs.....................................................................
05/12/2018: This is my third or fourth visit here (although I have not reviewed it before) and the excellent standards have been maintained. Interesting menu which included a delicious version of kedgeree which I have not had for years but there were several other things I could have chosen. The place has a nice relaxed atmosphere - not stuffy al all. They don't bother with table cloths and frills just concentrate on the food. Good attentive and friendly service. There is also a good choice of beers including local hand pulled ones and wines. A slight criticism - I thought the choice of sweets was a bit limited but an excellent cheese board compensated.

Hassop Hall

Litton and Longstone, Derbyshire Dales
18/11/2018: Looking forward to our visit to Hassop Hall on Sunday afternoon for a special celebratory meal, we arrived with a cake for the occasion . Politely greeted in reception when l realised I’d forgotten the candles “no problem madam, we will find you some candles“ so a huge relief to start the afternoon and then a fabulous tasty meal with silver service well timed courses, relaxing ambiance in a beautiful Victorian Manor House. Altogether a first class experience, I will definitely return.
23/10/2018: Real old-fashioned hospitality in a building that felt like a stately home. We loved our twin bedroom with a view over parkland and trees. Food was delicious; friendly and pleasant atmosphere in the dining room.

The Saracen's Head

Clifton and Bradley, Derbyshire Dales
17/12/2018: Went for a Christmas family meal ,myself and my sister in law had the turkey meal the turkey was lovely but the 2 very small Brussels and 2 very small carrots were rock hard the large whole roast potatoes were dry and awful, the rest of the family had steak which was not cooked as requested and chewy,we have had many meals here but this one and the previous one were average at best , not sure if the chef has changed but the food certainly has
12/12/2018: Visited for meal as birthday treat, was welcomed by friendly, polite and helpful staff upon entering. My daughter had booked before hand which is recommended to do because can get very busy at times and it saves you from disappointment if you don't.

Stella's Kitchen

Hathersage and Eyam, Derbyshire Dales
17/12/2018: Arrived to a lovely warm fire on a cold winters day - ordered our food which Stella then started to cook in the adjacent kitchen - we weren't in any hurry and appreciated freshly prepared meals.
11/12/2018: Stella is a very close friend of the family so maybe we're biased - but if you want 'a meal with a difference' look no further. Stella prepares all the food herself, and it is simply delicious: you'll have to try it to see how good it is.

Eyam Tea Rooms

Hathersage and Eyam, Derbyshire Dales, <20£
01/01/2019: Being one of the few places entrepreneurial enough to cater for the 'first walk of the New Year' crowd, it was very busy but the lady running front of house had it all under control, taking orders from customers in all the order of arrival, being clear about wait times and marshalling junior staff to clear & wipe.
18/11/2018: excellent all round, good food and friendly, first class service. Good value and ideally located in the village centre. Can recommend the Marble cake (no marbles in it)

Maazi Indian Restaurant

Hathersage and Eyam, Derbyshire Dales
11/11/2018: In Hathersage for the day and took advantage of the Early Bird offer. excellent food, superb service, staff very friendly and accommodating, lovely surroundings.
04/11/2018: The food is absolutely delicious and the staff are extremely friendly and efficient! I would recommend to everyone!

The Royal Oak

Hartington and Taddington, Derbyshire Dales
17/12/2018: Wanted to meet for a pre-Christmas lunch with a former work colleague who now lives in Sheffield. We picked the Royal Oak after quite extensive online research and drove over from Staffordshire. When we saw how isolated the pub is, we did wonder how good it could be, how much clientele they'd have and so on. We needn't have worried.
11/12/2018: Lovely roast dinner. Great Ale fantastic service. Staff really friendly and welcoming. Make sure you book as it was really busy. On a 3 night break in the Peak District we visited there twice !

Ye Olde gate Inne

Carsington Water, Derbyshire Dales
04/01/2019: Have visited many many times over the years & always enjoyed it. Visited today after a walk feeling pretty cold but had a warm welcome & great food. Good to see lamb’s liver on the menu, taste was lovely. One of us also had a real steak pie which was really succulent with the best shortcrust pastry ever tasted. We will be back.
21/12/2018: We have visited few time alway had luvly staff but recently they have had new bar staff rude misrable and arrogant real shame hopefully they arnt there next time as we felt a incovinence to her please get rid of her the gate as she isn’t doing you any favours
