St Helen's, Chesterfield, 20-30£
18/06/2019: We came here on a Tuesday night for our Anniversary.
09/06/2019: Booked a table for 5.30 on a Saturday before a show nearby. Arrived a little early to find the place almost full!! Food was very good and service even better. Slick and professional throughout. I had the ribs to start followed by the Mushroom risotto and my wife a Caprese followed by Lasagna. We then shared a pancake filled with chocolate sauce and ice cream Delicious but huge. Got talking to a lovely couple at the table next to us who were going to the same show which made the ambience and buzz around the place even better. Go, you won’t regret it.

The Market Pub

St Leonard's, Chesterfield, <20£
09/06/2019: Visited this pub on 7th June. Great atmosphere and food was delicious. The pies are amazing and huge. All homemade. Friendly staff. Only draw back is because they are so busy your visit maybe timed. We were allowed 2 hours which was fine for us but may not suit all.
07/06/2019: My wife and I had dinner here twice during w/c 3rd June 2019. We enjoyed our visits very much but soon realised that this is a pub that serves good food. A gastro pub it is not!

St Helen's, Chesterfield
18/06/2019: Been coming here every Saturday for 3 years and we all have the seniors meal £8 with a tea or coffee. Also have a bar drink usually John Smiths which is always top quality and cold. Service is excellent Lauren is brilliant and looks after us . Coffee has changed used to be really good but they must have changed the brand as it’s not nice now so we just have a tea for the free drink . Better than any pub meals locally .
09/06/2019: We unfortunately have a couple of issues with Chesters restaurant. We sat in the restaurant and chose the traditional fish and chips, I chose the SMAll cod and my partner the LARGE cod, when the food arrived there didn’t appear to be any difference in the size of them. The ‘large’ fish wasn’t particularly large at all.

St Leonard's, Chesterfield
04/06/2019: My wife and i went on a Tuesday for lunch, great atmosphere, service was great and all Staff friendly, couldn't do enough without being over the top.Prices was very reasonable and food quirky but great
30/05/2019: Went in today after hearing good things from friends and I’ve got to say it was absolutely amazing. Unique menu with a lot of variety, the burgers are unusual but absolutely delicious, smoothies were done quickly and looked and tasted incredible! Friendly staff too who were incredibly kind and quick with their service. Will be returning soon, loved it. Will have to try one of the milkshakes as they looked wonderful.

The Welbeck Inn

St Leonard's, Chesterfield
08/03/2019: I visited with mum last week as we had a few appointments in town. Handy location near to the banks and car park. Comfy seating and it felt clean too. There were a few locals / regulars sat chatting around the bar. We ordered the cheese, potato and broccoli pie and it was delicious and hot with prompt friendly service. They don't take cards so take cash with you. We had 2 meals, 2 puddings and drinks and it cost £19 in total. Really enjoyed the experience and we are planning on visiting again next week.
03/01/2019: I usually just grab a sandwich and a drink from town when on my dinner break, but when the family joined me today we needed somewhere warm with some warm food inside us. I’d not visited The Wellbeck Inn for a fair few years, but the interior hasn’t changed and neither has the great value for money or friendly service.

Maison Mes Amis

Holmebrook, Chesterfield
02/06/2019: Many thanks to Marcella and staff for providing a fantastic double birthday celebration for our family party of twenty. The food was excellent and beautifully presented and the staff on duty were extremely professional and efficient. Special thanks on the night must go to, Chloe, Emily and James and what can we say about Benoit, not only was he a super waiter but his magic tricks had grandchildren and adults spellbound .
20/05/2019: I invited 12 Spanish friends to celebrate a BIG Birthday with me on Saturday 18th May at Maison Mes Amis. Our table was beautifully set and friends were really impressed by how elegant the whole restaurant looked. Many thanks to Marcella and Aidan for their help in planning the event. A big thank you to Craig and his team in the kitchen. All the food we had was delicious - a fantastic range of flavours plus great presentation. We were well looked after by the front of house staff. They were attentive, polite but never intrusive. A fantastic evening!!

Siam Palace Thai Restaurant

St Leonard's, Chesterfield
02/06/2019: We came to Siam palace on Sunday night and had the early dinner menu. Although I wondered what I was walking in to, I was amazed when I walked into the restaurant. The decor is beautiful. There were 6 of us and a baby and we chose to sit on the cushions. It felt so homely taking our shoes off and relaxing whilst waiting for our food. Some of us had 3 courses for 14 pounds whilst others ordered off the al a carte menu. The staff were so accommodating, especially with the baby. The food was very tasty and was beautifully presented. We all loved our food and couldn’t recommend this place highly enough. Thank you so much for the excellent service and yummy food! We will be back!
11/04/2019: Loving the OTT decor! There is the option of sitting on cushions on the floor if you choose but we were boring and went for a table. Food was tasty. Service was good. It was very quiet as we went on a weeknight. Try not to be put off by the weird nightclub-esque staircase.

Organic Kitchen Chesterfield UK

St Leonard's, Chesterfield, <20£
10/06/2019: Called in and was surprised at all the lovely food on offer. We had a good lookround and ended up buying more than we thought we would.
18/05/2019: Just a snack but we love beans on toast, seved on quality bloomer bread great quality and value. Staff friendly and chatty.

The Gulab Tandoori

Holmebrook, Chesterfield
07/06/2019: My second visit this year. Food is reasonably standard in terms of a traditional Indian Restaurant Menu , but it is good and reasonably priced. Service is always excellent. Worth a visit !
02/06/2019: Gulab is one of the best Indian restaurants I have ever visited. The staff are very welcoming and cannot do enough for you. The service is second to none and we could not have asked for more. The food was fresh, hot on arrival and fantastic! The overall atmosphere and vibe is so friendly and locally run. Would definitely recommend Gulab for observant, effeicnt staff that go the extra mile to make their customers have a great experience.

St Leonard's, Chesterfield
18/06/2019: Super fast service, everything was delicious. Great potion sizes, not too big which meant that on the 'all you can eat' menu, you could try lots of different things but not get too full too fast. Very friendly staff.
11/06/2019: We’ve been here a couple of times now - the food is always top notch and the added bonus of an ‘all you can eat menu’ is you can order whatever you like and its freshly cooked to order for you. Plenty of veggie options (the veggie starter platter is amazing!) too for any non meat-eaters. The sashimi box went down very well here and the hot/sour soup was delicious. Only downside I’d have to agree with is the location isn’t the best (its hidden down a dank alleyway across from the Donut carpark) but on the upside there is plenty of nearby parking. Staff are great, super attentive quick to take orders/get drinks etc.

The Boythorpe Fryer

Rother, Chesterfield
21/03/2019: Back home in Chesterfield after traveling abroad for a while. On our second day home I called in for our favourite meal which is the Mini Fish & Chips special. This meal contains chips, a mini fish, sausage & mushy Peas. You had a choice of peas, gravy, curry etc. For us it has always been mushy peas, it used to include a can of pop but now it appears not as I missed my can of Dandelion & Burdock pop. We are both in our 70s so the size of the meal is ideal in fact I end up eating my wife's sausage & a lot of chips.the food was cooked to perfection as always, many thanks The Boythorpe Fisheries good to be back
16/03/2019: Haddock and chips freshly done with a slice of lemon in there, was absolutely delicious, never been disappointed in the BF, I live overseas but come home often, always stop by.

The Soulville Steakhouse

St Leonard's, Chesterfield
16/06/2019: Arrived for a fathers day lunch and received a rather unamicable welcome. The member of staff told us rather abruptly to 'get a drink from the bar for a minute' . After waiting approximately 15 minutes the same person made a hand gesture and said 'thats your table there!' We sat down and picked up the menu we were disgusted! The menus were tacky and sticky and looked filthy-the tables didn't look/feel that clean either! There was a choice of 2 menus but nothing was explained to us. It seemed you could have any starter or desert from the main menu combined with a Sunday lunch from another menu for an offer of £14. A different member of staff came to take our order but she never smiled and didn't seem to be interested or familiar with the menu and it seemed an annoyance to her to ask questions like what the soup of the day was. We placed our order and didn't have to wait too long before the food arrived. The starters were lovely though - the ribs my husband and daughter had fell off the bone and were very lean and tasted gorgeous. I had the mushroom pepperpot which again was very tasty but in my opinion dispite it's name was a bit ott on the pepper. The main courses were very nice-sunday lunch with all the trimmings-only complaint here was the Yorkshire puddings left a lot to be desired-very hard&more; like scones! Throughout our meal not one member of staff came to ask us if everything was alright or if we needed anything else! My daughter struggled cutting her gammon steak as she wasn't given a steak knife-although she did say The gammon was tasty when she could eventually cut it!-there were no members of staff around to ask for a steak knife. The music was playing but could hardly be heard-apart from in the kitchen!!- when the doors opened when staff were taking food in/ out the kitchen the vibe in there seemed alive compared to in the restaurant which is definitely ready for a fact lift and some serious atmosphere! On one occasion a chef in checked black/white trousers appeared from the kitchen-his trousers were filthy and had a huge stain down one side-another could be seen licking his fingers in the kitchen!! All in all the food was mainly good but for god sake sort your hygiene standards out! Gordon Ramsey would have a field day in here!!
31/05/2019: Very good value restaurant with a good vibe at most times of the day.

Blu Bistro

Walton, Chesterfield, 30-45£
13/06/2019: We don't live locally so were lucky to find this restaurant on line, looking for somewhere to eat on way to Chatsworth. We were looking for brunch, Vegan options for some of us and a nice stop off to catch up with family members. We phoned to firm up and Debbie couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating to our requests. Although some of the party were Vegan there were plenty of options for carnivores and any family members with dietary concerns. On arrival we were shown to a reserved table. There was no issue turning a speaker down near our table to allow us a good natter and all in all we had a delightful relaxed lunch, before heading off to the RHS flower show. Service was fabulous and the food was amongst the best we have experienced in some time. Easily one of the best Vegan brunches ever. Local businesses like this deserve everyone' support and I hope it thrives.
26/05/2019: A must dine out experience if you live in or around Chesterfield. Amazing menu everything cooked fresh by Adam the chef full marks to all the staff had a really lovely evening at Blu

Holmebrook, Chesterfield
17/06/2019: Iv visited preciously and swore to go back as it was so good. We weren't disappointed. Staff are friendly and welcoming and create a relaxed atmosphere. Service cycle is good. Food is top notch and reasonably priced. £20 per head for poppadoms, starters, mains, rice and nann with 2 rounds of drinks. Food is well presented and good portion size. Good to see a few different dishes on the menu as well as what you would expect. Would recommend.
07/05/2019: After looking at a review of this restaurant I had to try. Food was great, hot and served perfectly. Staff were attentive and obliging. What a brilliant meal. Cant agree with the last report of cold food. Cracking staff and food. Well worth a visit.

Galleon Steakhouse

St Leonard's, Chesterfield, 30-45£
17/06/2019: Visited the Galleon on Saturday evening although it was busy the staff were attentive and service was delivered in good time and with a smile.
11/06/2019: We enjoyed the meal at the Galleon, the food being of a good standard. Service was efficient if a little impersonal. As it is a steakhouse, as expected, not a wide choice if anyone in you party prefers not to eat steak. We did like the opportunity of cooking your own steak to your liking at the table. Plenty of parking available nearby which made the visit easier.
