Kwai Chin Newtown

Newtown East, Powys
20/11/2018: Superb food great taste fast service even when busy, delightful staff clean and good portions would recommend
10/09/2018: I had been here once before recommended by our housemate, but as the menu was a little smaller than I’m used to I didn’t know what to order and just had sweet and sour chicken balls last time. They were nice but you can’t go wrong with them really.

Dan 'I Sang

Aberaeron, Ceredigion
29/08/2018: Great food, chicken curry was really tasty, chips were great. Enjoyed the Chinese style chicken too. Look carefully for the signage though otherwise you’ll miss it!
25/08/2018: Having spent a lovely few days camping, thought we would treat ourselves to a takeaway on the last night...Big mistake. The hygiene standard of this Chinese takeaway are clearly very poor, loo stops and "throwing up" all the way home. Thanks for nothing!! John.

Breidden Pub

Trewern, Powys
03/11/2018: Visited this restaurant many times and it is consistently good. Staff friendly, efficient and good ambience. Usually go for the Sweet and Sour Chicken Cantonese with special rice noodles/special chips and has never let me down. If you ever drive past then this place is definitely worth a visit.
09/10/2018: Have been eating here for many years and can say in all that time I have never been disappointed with the food. (Love the spare rib in paper). Full marks to Michael and Ling. Always come away having had a good evening.

Fusion King

Aberystwyth Canol/Central, Ceredigion
08/11/2018: Always have nice food from here... it cheap and cheerful. Love all the different choices on the menu. Not the fastest service but worth the wait. Few seats to sit inside. Not posh in any shape or foam but it’s good!
21/10/2018: Had takeaway and got home to discover it was the wrong order..took it back and our order was on side.No apology from manager, who managed to shout at the worker who had got order wrong, but totally ignored the customer!(me)!I took my correct order home,(3 meals),and of course it was cold. I have had takeaways from here for years and it has gone very down hill since this new management.A real shame as it used to be so good.

Ling Di Long

Lampeter, Ceredigion
07/08/2018: Although we have intended to try the food here before-today was the first time.We were certainly not disappointed -we ordered a lunch time take away and can honestly say that it was the best Chinese food that we have had .Everything was cooked nicely and with very good portions. The lemon chicken was succulent and crisp but not dry,the rice perfectly cooked ,the list goes on -we honestly could not fault anything. With the addition of the free prawn crackers (which were very fresh and crispy) it made a perfect birthday lunch. We will certainly be coming here more often now. I must add that we were served by an extremely pleasant and knowledgeble young man -full marks to Ling Di Long
18/07/2018: Have never had a bad experience here and I visit here around once a month for a Saturday night takeaway. Food is always cooked fresh and is never greasy or fatty and is always served hot. Its very good value for money and the staff are always friendly and helpful. It is the best Chinese food around this area and I would not use anywhere else. Keep up the good work!

Seafront Palace

Aberystwyth Canol/Central, Ceredigion
12/11/2018: We had a fabulous takeaway from here on Saturday night. The guy taking the order gave excellent advice on gluten free choices. The food was very tasty and was still hot when we came to eat it after a 15min drive back to Borth.
27/10/2018: My partner and I decided to go away for the weekend in Aberystwyth. After some drinks we were hungry and craving chinese and came across this brilliant takeaway on the seafront. The guy on the desk is incredible - so so good at his job & the food is so delicious, in fact we ended up having 3 takeaways from here in two days because of these factors! So glad we stumbled across this gem - and next time we’re in Aberystwyth we will definitely be visiting the Seafront Palace!

Hampton Chinese Buffet Resturant

Llandrindod South, Powys
19/10/2018: Plenty of choice, food kept topped up and/or changed, lovely cake options, eat what you fancy and as much as you like, pleasant staff, will call in again.
09/10/2018: We absolutely love this place we know what we like when we go there but could do with a bit more selection as I don’t believe there is as many as advertised

Red Dragon Chinese Restaurant

St. Mary, Powys
01/02/2018: Ну это такой типичный китайский тэйкэвэй, какие есть во всех британских городках и городах. Вообще ничего неожиданного. Как говорится, международный скучный стандарт. Но ничем и не разочаровывает.
14/12/2017: Quite quiet when I visited, but the takeaway side was doing a good trade.

Happy City

Aberteifi/Cardigan-Teifi, Ceredigion
02/12/2018: We were staying in Gwbert (about 3 miles away) as a big family. We had looked forward for weeks to the Chinese that had been planned for a while as when we lived nearer it was a brilliant sit-down restaurant but when we saw the reviews on here, I must admit we were a little apprehensive.
30/10/2018: Well, well, what an awful meal, cheap Iceland chicken blocks covered in powdered chip shop curry....worst meal we have ever had in any Chinese establishment anywhere in the world, when complained, we were told they were sorry, then advised of better restaurants around the town!

Kam Sing

Aberystwyth Canol/Central, Ceredigion
22/06/2018: I've been at Aber Uni for four years and will be graduating in July. This place has been our go-to Chinese during this time and despite having pretty regular takeaways when we're busy, I've never had a bad meal from them. The service is excellent and the wee woman is always friendly when you go in. Their menu is clearly labelled with allergens, which makes a huge difference for those that need it. Having tried a few other Chinese's in Aber I can safely say this is the best one in my experience. We look forward to eating from here when we come back during term and I will definitely miss it when we leave as i've not been able to find one comparable back home.
18/03/2018: I visited Kam Sing Friday 16/03/18. 22:30

Hot Dumplings Takeaway

Aberystwyth Gogledd/North, Ceredigion
06/10/2018: Person answering phone didn't know what 'vegan' meant. Then spoke to their boss who said yes, my meal would be vegan. Turned out to have egg noodles in it.
14/09/2018: The food is really tasty, best Chinese I’ve had in Aberystwyth. Staff are lovely and service is always quick. Great value for the money, very reasonably priced

Dan I' Sang

Llandysul Town, Ceredigion
12/09/2018: We called ahead to book a table. When we arrived I could tell something was wrong. The dining room was like storage and no tables were made up. I said to the man that we booked a table for 3 and I asked where is the table. He said it's ok you can order food from him and then eat in the bar.... well he drags me round the back of the till and through the corridors past the kitchen to an open doorway which linked to the bar next door! It was a small bar, clearly a local for a few men and it had a few tables. He said we could order and eat there. I reminded him we had called and booked a table and asked why didn't he say there are not tables and it's just a takeaway. He said it's ok up to 3 people can just eat in the bar. So I repeated the question and said we booked a table and he just kept ignoring my question and said it's ok to eat in bar they bring the food round on plates with everything we need. I mean if you Google this place it shows a fully made up dining area with tables chairs the lot. And for it to be all packed up is ridiculous when you called ahead and reserved a table
26/08/2018: Lovely food and lovely staff! Been having takeaways for the last two years and always enjoyed them. Highly recommend 😀

Canton Wok Newtown

Newtown East, Powys
10/12/2018: I have been visiting this takeaway for more than 10 years and have tried everything on their menu during this time, I have never been disappointed and would recommend to everyone who wants an excellent meal at a very reasonable price. You can ring your order through and collect usually within half an hour. Please try this establishment as I can high recommend it.
01/11/2018: We walked in to order our takeaway as delivered isn’t available unfortunately, however service was friendly and the food was ready in good time (around 10-15 mins) pretty cars are really good as are the portion sizes. Have to say the food was all great! Plenty of flavour and piping hot. Definitely recommend going if you can.

Golden Bamboo Chinese Takeaway

Welshpool Llanerchyddol, Powys
17/11/2018: On placing an order for the whole family in which two of our family have serious nut allergies. We were told to Take our order elsewhere as they were not sure if the order contained Nuts! ARE YOU FOR REAL and could not tell us any ingredients! We were then told that our order was cancelled as we were being difficult. We were not we simply asked if the dish contained nuts. It’s the law! Don’t bother ordering from here if you have allergies they don’t know what they are serving.
21/05/2018: Used to love this takeaway, would have one every time I came home to visit family. Haven’t had one in the past 8+ months or so, so was really looking forward to last nights (22/5/18). Ordered by phone, said every order twice, and collected. Got home to find our two beef and mushrooms had turned to beef and green pepper, I don’t like pepper so just ate the beef as it was too long a drive back. The beef used to be thick and pull apart in your mouth really good, this beef was thin and stringy, and tasted like it had been cooking for far too long in the sauce. King prawn fried rice also used to be really nice, big prawns and lots of them, last night the prawns were cold and chewy. Rest of rice was as expected. Sweet and sour chicken was good, seems like smaller balls now but still good. Asked for sweet and sour chicken balls on the phone and the man was quite abrupt asking which one - wasn’t aware of any other name for them! He asked again, the balls and we said yes, thinking that was clear. Family also had chow mien and another dish which looked okay.

China Kitchen

Builth, Powys
03/11/2018: If there was more of a choice locally I probably wouldn't have gone here, the take away shop itself looks run down and in desperate need a a good tidy up. The food was okay, some dishes like the me on chicken was good and others not so good (the satay chicken was watery and tasted of nothing). The prawn crackers are also pretty rubbish. Basically unless you're desperate for a Chinese I wouldn't rush to this one - sorry!
12/08/2018: They gone down hill over the years order was completely wrong took 2 hours and 17 calls to get through offered replacement meal went to get with pictures and told to bring food er in bin in this heat called liar despite having pics and 8 other folk being there from same day with complaints over incorrect order get act together or folk will go elsewhere
