We booked here, thinking that we could have our tea during our planned visit to Torridon. I emailed the restaurant and got a response the following morning confirming our table for that evening. It was a bit of challenging drive, steep single track road over spectacular mountain scenery, and a good hour from where we were staying, and well worth making the trip. What a superb meal we had in this quirky and perfectly formed little restaurant! The creel caught langoustines were wonderful, and my husband said his venison was outstanding. Our son had a double bacon burger, and it defeated him (remarkable in itself). Aart was a super host and the place was full, so we felt lucky they could fit us in. Booking is a must, and you won’t be disappointed!

What a find, simply superb cafe, shop and staff. The cakes and scones are enormous so great value and we’ve already booked for breakfast on our way back.

This is a fantastic spot for great food — easily the best burgers in Inverness. Everything is delicious, fresh, and made with care. The macaroni and chilli dishes are outstanding, and the loaded fries are absolutely worth trying. The staff are warm, welcoming, and excellent at what they do.

Lovely museum with excellent displays describing the history and life of the people of Lewis. . As part of our tour, a local guga hunter gave a presentation on how guga birds were hunted . Absolutely fascinating. Sadly, we did not have time to eat at the cafe.

The tasting menu we were served at The Dipping Lugger was quite something… including incredibly good halibut and the biggest and tastiest scallop I’ve ever eaten. Every course was a hit. Can’t comment on the wine pairing as we didn’t choose it, instead opting for a Ullapool G&T each which was very nice. The service here is really warm and friendly, I didn’t catch the waitresses name but she went the extra mile taking time to talk to us about the food and our trip. The only other feedback I can give is that it felt very brightly lit in the dining room, some softer lighting would help make it feel cosier. Thank you again for such a brilliant evening, we already want to return!

Lucky to find that dinner was available on one of the nights. The meal was excellent. Extremely well cooked, presented and served. Don't miss the opportunity to eat there if you can. Elaine is a great cook/chef.

What a fantastic place!!! So comfy, welcoming and lovely. Breakfast was amazing and dinner in the restaurant was perfect. Highly recommend!

Donald very kindly offered us a Xmas dinner at his gorgeous bistro on the 20th December. The restaurant would normally be shut over the winter season as it is so remote. His Cullen Skink was outstanding as was our delicious xmas dinner finished off with homemade treacle pudding! Delicious food and such friendly welcoming hosts. We will be back! Lovely friendly cafe offering a good variety of sandwiches, paninis, coffee, drinks and cake. Nice views of valley and golf course. Seating inside and out. I had a nut butter beetroot carrot panini, my partner had local ham and cheese sandwich. Both came with fresh salad. Parking area. Glad we spotted this by chance!

Just popped in for a Feta Salad. They accidentally put avocado in it, but asked if that was OK before serving it. It was more than OK - it was delicious - took the slight edge off the feta. Very tasty.

This came recommended by friends (we seem to have missed it repeatedly!) and it opens on a Sunday (yeeha) - modern, warm and inviting place just opposite the Council Offices (and next to the Smokehouse) - we were there early for brunch - it was busy but not crowded - great food and coffee menu and helpful staff. Food was rapid and excellent quality. Loved it

Fabulous food and great service. Thoroughly recommend both the venison stew and the sea trout! Advisable to book as it’s not huge and it has a great reputation with the locals…
