After eating the Beef Wow sandwich earlier today, I am considering moving my family the four hours to Oystermouth, just so I can be closer to it. The best sandwich I've ever eaten! Well done Stuart you legend.
Delicious baked goods. Chelsea buns are my favourite but the kids love the cakes and iced buns. We get our rolls and bread from Newells every time we visit Porthmadog, wish we had a bakery like it at home!
The fish is first class and the chips are better than most.
Probably the best chip shop I’ve found around the Newport area and the staff are friendly
Had a breakfast and a panini as our brunch today. Lovely food, great service and some quirky art to look at. Go on, give it a try if you haven’t already.
Amazing shop and cafe!
Lots of very interesting items inside. The staff are lovely and happy to help you find your own unique treasure!
The food is great as well! 😋
Very poor customer experience, we ordered poached eggs on toast which weren’t hot and the bread was not toasted enough, scrambled eggs arrived with chives on, so I apologised & told the server (in chefs whites) that I cannot eat onions/chives, only to be rudely told that I should have told them when I ordered, to which I responded that had I ordered anything that may have contained them I would have, but she walked away repeating that I should have said. The eggs were remade, but it was dry, tasteless and cooked the microwave and the toast cold with tasteless spread.
Very disappointed as had heard good things about Nellie’s, I mentioned it to the manager who apologised, then said but now you know we put chives on. 🙄
Had a coffee with breakfast thought lovely then a young girl with curly hair shocking so loud swearing loudly and customer services none training maybe should bee work on with a few staff there what a eye opener breakfast nice but a bit saltely myself and my other work colleague drink loads of water.
20.03.25 the warmest day of the year in Bala, 17 degrees! A trip to the Llyn for a spot of paddleboarding and a leisurely dog walk. The wonderful Woody's cafe on the lake was open so we called in for a snack. Always freshly prepared food here, lovely staff, efficient and smiling! Milly was made a fuss of and treats given by the waiter, always a hit with my dog. Very clean cafe, dog friendly inside too. Delicious toastie and jacket potato, hot coffee and reasonably priced. Highly recommended.
Stumbled across this place on Sunday. The landlord could not have been more welcoming. The locals were friendly and the beer was great. A proper community pub. Will certainly be back!
