Visited this pub yesterday and it was great, very quiet but service was top notch and it has to be one of cleanest pubs I've ever been in. The best pint of Stella I've ever had. Didn't have food but I will definitely be back.

Best pizzas about. And we tried the lot. All the Chinese stuff we have tried has been really good aswell. Only downside is there chips unfortunately, no idea what it is but they are always horrible, I have stopped getting chips from here and collect from elsewhere on way home. Shame as everything else is bang on. Staff are always lovely and will get your attention if you went back to sit in the car. Pizza chef is a good laugh even if he hates my pizzas with a passion 😂 (pepperoni and pineapple),but he still cooks them to perfection every single time. It's our go to place for a good takeaway (excluding the chips 🙈😂)

Stayed next door for 1 night and spent most of the evening in the bar. Met a whole lot of great people both staff and customers. Good takeaway food that you can eat in the bar- amazing pizza. Will definitely be back guys. Jimmy, Lois and mad dog Jess

Booked a table for six for an evening meal. The restaurant was not by any means busy, bur we had to wait about 45 minutes for the main courses to be served. Four of the group had fish and chips. The battered fish appeared overcooked and the batter was rubbery. The chips were nearly cold. One guest sent their meal back and the other three decided to plough on as it had been a long day and there had already been a long delay before getting the meal. I had ordered a Caesar salad which consisted mainly of Iceberg lettuce and a piece of fairly tough grilled chicken. The sixth guest had ordered a half portion of lasagna which in our opinion should have been described as a quarter portion. All in all a disgraceful meal on which we were offered a 15% discount which was grudgingly accepted.

Visited here for lunch as a family of 5 whilst visiting Galashiels, all the staff were friendly and welcoming. Good choice of food on the lunchtime menu and a couple of specials available too. Kids meals were a good size as were the adults and we really enjoyed all of our meals. The caramel coffee was amazing too. Would recommend if you’re in the area.

I keep going back because i love the location ! (make sure you book as too far out to risk ) but unfortunately every time im dissapointed with the food, overpriced for quantity, quality and tasteless (iv had breakfasts, soups and platters) . Will just visit for coffee and cake in future

Stayed for two nights with my wife and thoroughly enjoyed it. Stayed in the oak room which was lovely room. The bed was a little soft for my liking, (but as I’m not a complete wet wipe and it’s practically impossible to keep every different type of mattress, I managed) The room had a balcony which was a lovely place to stand in the morning and have a coffee. The breakfast (cheese and croissants, yoghurt, and cereal) was more than adequate and a nice light start to the day. We didn’t eat here the first night as we went to the Indian a few doors up, but enjoyed a few drinks in the bar, a lovely pint of Estrella, and my wife enjoyed sampling a few of the cocktails. The second night we ate in the bar, and must admit after reading some of the whinging reviews on here, I wasn’t expecting too much. I ordered the house burger and it was fantastic, not too big, the meat was delicious and came with a larger than average portion of fries. The bar had a good atmosphere., and the locals were very friendly. I read some of the reviews and honestly don’t know what some people are thinking sometimes. Most of the complaints seem like a “you problem” it’s a fantastic little hotel and would highly recommend staying here again.
