The best restaurants in Meadows / Morningside Edinburgh, City of Edinburgh and Lothian

Four of us met for lunch . The food took well over an hour to come - when we enquired about the delay we were told that some of our dishes took a long time to cook! -Burger, fish & chips, chicken Souvlaki and chicken Kiev! In the meantime it was clear to us that people who had been seated after us were getting their food. The Bar was by no means busy. When our food came it we all agreed that it should have been warmer than it was. But we were hungry and the other side of a bottle of wine and decided to just press on. I had the burger, it was dry and lacking one of the ordered additions. The fish was good. We told the waitress that we weren't impressed and we were given a discount and free coffee. Most of us have eaten here before and found it to be pretty good, so we were very disappointed by our experience today.

Es difícil expresar mi consternación por lo que Deliveroo entregó. Tempura vegetal, Pollo Pad Thai y rollo de primavera vegetal. No pidas esto. Lo mejor pero fue que el tipo en la bicicleta llegó a tiempo, pero qué distancia recorrer y entregar comida tan espantosa. Referencia de pedido 4309

A gem of Marchmont! We have always enjoyed our visits and it's in my list of pubs to recommend. Drinks are great and there's also live music on select days!

Had a lovely breakfast, and the service was friendly and fast.

Sadly very disappointing experience this time, we order form the place quite often. It used to be our favourite Indian takeaway in Edinburgh. In our last order some items were missing and some were wrong, way smaller portions compared to the previous ones and just not the food delivery quality we were used to, especially given the price.

Pepe food is obviously nice butttttt the lack of customer service and understanding of taking an order is extremely week especially over the telephone they keep hanging up when it comes to ordering more than one item and they keep passing the phone on to others to take the call but they don't have the knowledge to understand an order so rude by hanging up and then putting the phone off the hook terrible service get new staff

Really good food and friendly service, checking in enough but not too much. Lots of gluten-free options and the staff had good awareness of preventing cross-contamination which is always nice. I had the chicken parmigiana which was thicker than they usually come but it was still really tender inside. The service was pretty quick but not so fast that we felt our meals had just been reheated, everything felt freshly made to order. Everything was a good price so I would definitely recommend!

The lady who took our order for pizza was not pleasant at all. She was grumpy and unwelcoming. Pizza itself was not even average. The dough didn't seem to be fresh. Definitely don't recommend.

Friendly and helpful staff. Hotel quite outdated and in need of refurbishment in places. Staff worked very hard.

Oh wow! We thought it’ll be nice to have dinner in a restaurant instead of going to a pub! High hopes however the battered cod & chips was tasteless and pretty oily¿ How can a simple dish fail In a hotel restaurant! Never again

I have been ordering from GY for a few months and it has been very good. Unfortunately, my order tonight was not great. The first piece of salt and pepper chicken I bit into was pretty undercooked. I thought I'd ignore it, but a lot of the pieces I cut into were on the pink side😬 These things can happen, but it did ruin the meal for us.

I have been coming to this cafe for years and I’m now at the point where I won’t be back. I am so tired of the rudeness that I encounter every time I go. It would be bad no matter what the prices but if I’m spending 4.50 for a sandwich I expect at least a smile and a hello, or heaven forbid a thank you. I rarely get eye contact, there is never a smile, the servers are consistently on their phone or talking to each other ignoring customers. One day I just gave up and walked out because I couldn’t get served. There is an express soderburg around the corner and the gentleman in there displays EXCELLENT customer service. He is always polite and welcoming and as a result I tend to spend more money with him. The service on in the meadows is utterly appalling as a result I won’t be back to any. There is a coffee shop that has just opened up next door so I’ll save my money for them.

Amazing store and the staff are always friendly and helpful! 10/10 will shop here again!

Délicieux repas, en prime, des serveuses agréables, souriantes, avec le l'humour et à votre écoute en cas de "panne" de vocabulaire. Le cadre aussi est sympa.
