Family of 10. Where to begin. Mixed up veg and non veg samosas and my vegetarian wife ended up eating meat. Half hearted apologies, blaming each other - they didn’t really have a clue. We waited 1 hour for starters even through the restaurant was super quiet. Food was not great. Fish Amritsar slimy and bland. Chana Puri bland. Nan breads flat. Chilli paneer and paneer shashlik were identical. Tandoori chicken and aloo tiki were ok. No drinks menu. Left after Starters. Place is a joke.

Don’t bother. Booked a room for a business colleague so he was in the town centre. The place let me down and left me looking stupid. He told me his room was cold and not particularly clean and the shower had a constant drip which made it hard to fall to sleep. He also said there was no hot breakfast available in the morning. Such a shame.

The way I have just been spoken to by not 1, but 2 of the staff is absolutely disgusting and I will not be returning. 1 individual in particular, Lilly. After standing and waiting for 15 minutes at the bar to pay for my food, all 5 members of staff (besides the manager) came tottering out of the kitchen to which I said "ive been waiting here for 15 minutes can I pay", she began to shout at me whilst in the restaurant, telling me the had an issue in the kitchen that they were sorting, even though the manager had asked them twice to come and and help. After speaking to me like a peice of dirt, I asked "excuse me who are you talking to like that?" Which she responded "you, im staff and you need to respect me, I was busy sorting stuff that has nothing to do with you". I asked her "whats your name?" As her name badge was covered, she looked me up and down and turned away. I then asked one of the other members of staff "whats her name?" And she said "sorry im not allowed to share that information with you". I asked who the manager was, she pointed to the man who was quite clearly very stressed with the staff team and their level of incompetence. I asked "whats her name?" In which he told me "lilly". What is concerning to me is how she so comfortably spoke to a customer like this with absolutely 0 repercussions. It is disgusted.

We have been three times to this restaurant first time we were told we hadn't booked and couldn't get in fair enough. Second time we went inbthe restaurant was empty but was told there would be over an hour wait for food as they were expecting a large party to come in. I asked we were there first surely they would take our order first but told they wouldn't? Last chance was yesterday went in stood at the door waited to be seated this was just after 7:00 p.m. to be told that the kitchen was closed They were no longer serving food? Don't bother wasting your time they obviously don't need your money or want your money Go to a restaurant that actually wants customers.

We visited the farm shop restaurant on a Saturday morning and waited about 30 minutes for a table, which we expected. Once seated, we ordered two Archie half breakfasts and were informed there would be a wait. Unfortunately, they were right – it took a painfully long 40 minutes for the food to arrive. We eat out frequently and just couldn’t understand why things were moving so slowly, especially since the breakfast items we ordered were standard fare. The place seemed well-staffed, with plenty of people in the kitchen and on the tills, and given that it’s not table service (you order at the counter), the delay was puzzling. There appears to be a fundamental issue that needs addressing, perhaps with the menu itself or the kitchen process. Are breakfast staples not being pre-cooked? Is the menu overly ambitious? To compare, we regularly visit the high-end Daylesford farm shop, which is larger and always bustling, yet operates like clockwork. Tables are turned over quickly, it’s full table service, and food comes out swiftly, even during peak hours. Perhaps they manage efficiency better with a more streamlined breakfast menu? Overall, a review of operations here could make a huge difference. With improved service, they’d surely serve more food and generate more revenue. I’d love to return, but hope for some changes first!

Arrived yesterday evening. Check in quick and easy, except being advised to wait for someone to take our bags, which we did ourself. What I would say is, the staff are excellent, so hard working, whoever the management are, they need a large rocket, period. This place feels nice but the attention to detail is shocking. So we arrived on April 01st, who is the joker?! Queues of 20 minutes to get a drink ffs. Complained but didn’t really change anything. A la carte restaurants shut, nice one. Low and behold, today, the ice creams, 25 minute queue to be told no strawberry, vanilla or chocolate. I’m not rude but i did stop the server from chatting to his buddy as there were 25 people in the queue behind me. Joke. Overall £500 a week for here is good value, don’t expect anything more. Right on the beech.

We had a really lovely experience at our visit on Saturday evening … really tasty Grapefruit Cocktail, a knowledgeable’ wine man’ called Andy (sorry we didn’t get his last name but he has been with you for about 7 weeks..) .. his story and journey to Hoar Cross was lovely to hear … French onion soup was gorgeous although we did all think the portion size was small. The beef and dumpling were to die for … food absolutely wonderful. This was topped by our waitress called Charlotte (Plumb) .. she was attentive, professional and welcoming but her sparkle of humour was a breath of fresh air and she made us all laugh out loud .. thank you xx
