The best restaurants in East Southbourne and Tuckton Bournemouth South West

Our first visit to Restaurant Roots. We were blown away with the combination of flavours, the wonderful food, the presentation of the dishes and the whole tasting menu experience. A warm welcome was followed by attentive service, wonderful wine suggestions & totally sublime food. Our lunch was excellent value and a return visit has already been booked.

Best Sunday roast lunch we have had in a long time, quality ingredients, plenty of vegetables, friendly service. Will definitely recommend and will be back.

Went there tonight as was very hungry and couldn't be bothered to cook. Was quite busy and stood in the queue for 15 minutes and when it was my turn I placed order only to be told I would have to wait for 25 minutes or more. To say I was rather disappointed would be & understatement! Walked straight to never return again. Now sat waiting in another establishment that's just opened up the road.

The worst coffee ever, not a single ounce of effort went into making our coffees. Watched the guy on the machine not even use fresh oat milk for us just used the lukewarm jug that had been sat on the side, a waste of our money. Atmosphere from all the staff is always miserable. Only good thing about this place is the atmosphere that the general public bring

I cannot believe what I have just witnessed I am absolutely disgusted and mortified how rude and insensitive the staff really are after 2 lovely ladies came into the cafe with their adults with clearly additional needs and the were asked to leave because of the noise they were making how insensitive and rude can you and your staff be I have never been so disgusted in all my life who you treat your customers no matter who we are or what needs we have it doesn't matter a customer is a customer and should always be welcome well NEVER EVER again please avoid this establishment in every way and please tell your friends or neighbours or family or even work colleagues DO NOT use this cafe the staff are absolutely rude and AVOID AVOID AVOID please please help me spread the word as I am mortified on how these members of staff and owners think its ok to treat other human beings in this way so again Please AVOID AVOID AVOID at any cost !

Really cool little place, very stylishly decorated, and has a real buzz about the place - it all feels very authentic. The Tapas Thursday is great very and you get a great choice of dishes. The pizza nights are enjoyable to. Very friendly service and has a great Italian vibe to it all.

You cannot beat the food and service given by Debbie and Kev at Schooners Cafe. The food is high quality, non greasy, beautifully presented and always cooked to perfection. The customer service is amazing. Debbie is so kind, attentive, warm and friendly. ❤️ If we could give more stars, we would. We visit here every trip to Southbourne/Christchurch. Amazing! X

Came in on Saturday with my wife for our anniversary. We were served by Autumn, who never stopped smiling and was incredibly attentive. Could not recommend enough, will definitely be back!

Crap if you have a dog as not allowed inside. Everywhere says don't feed the birds but morons feed the frigging birds. Before id got to the table starlings were drinking milk off my tray. Stupid thing is more dog people than non dog people go there so sort yourselves out and allow dogs inside. Machine coffee so a bit like weatherspoons but pricier won't go back

Visited on a trip out from Bournemouth. Appeared to be a family run concern with staff having knowledge of a number of the patrons. Although it was getting close to closing time we were treated to a lovely cream tea with a decent sized pot of tea. Weather on the day was not condusive to being outside, however there was plenty of outside eating space with views of the river. I would expect plenty of activity on the river in the warmer months.

A warm welcome and shown to our table. Sally was our server and is always smiling! Our food… linguini & pie were delicious , drinks were lovely too. Back ground music could have been a little quieter but we had a great time!

This was an outstanding venue for our meal. We were warmly welcomed by the fantastic Casey, who attended to our every whim. The food and drink was lovely, well cooked and nicely presented. All round, this was an excellent choice and we would definitely make a 2nd visit. Great job to Casey at front of house and to the managerial and chef team in the back. Well done all round.

Wow! We popped in for a light lunch and ended up having a feast and having to take a doggy bag home (no way was I leaving anything). Delicious tapas (spicy chorizo, hummus) and the best paella! Portions are huge - if you are eating other tapas, a single paella is plenty for 3-4. Excellent house wine too. We will be back - often!
