Very busy easter Sunday with lots of entertainment for the kids. The staff worked very hard to make everyone happy and really deserve a big praise. Sadly the food was not as nice as expected. The lamb and vegetarian roasts were very average and not worth the prices but the fish and chips was nice and we would have that again.
Been here before and great service, however today the barman was very rude and blunt. No customer service at all. He actually put us off staying. Red hair, long. Never been to a pub and been made to feel so unwelcome.
I visit the white hart very often for meals with my family and have always been happy. However my last visit I have been left disappointed. We had ordered our drinks which was 2 bottles of wine between our table, and after 10 minutes of ordering a manager came over to ID myself and another. I don’t have an issue with being ID but why 10 minutes after ordering the drinks? I ordered the steak burger and chips and received my chips cold, let the waitress know to which she took my plate. She returned 2 mins later with no apology and as if the food had been put in the microwave. While we were eating out main all the lights in the pub had switched off. I would assume a power cut but by the laughter of the staff at the bar and them saying “turn the lights back on” made me assume this was no mistake. Again no apologies just laughter by the staff. Very disappointing, especially after coming so often and never having an issue
How the mighty have fallen. This used to be the finest Indian restaurant in Surrey with wonderful food and great service.
Not any more.
Having visited for the 1st time in about 2 years the change was jarring. Having been shown to our table it took over 25 minutes until we were able to order drinks and food which is unacceptable in any restaurant, but particularly somewhere as prestigious as Le Raj. It then took a further 30 minutes before the starter finally arrived (restaurant was around 50% full) and well over an hour before the main course arrived.
Food has gone downhill too. I had possibly the most unappetizing naan I've ever eaten, which appeared to have been glazed with some sort of sugar, making it hard texture, sweet to taste & deeply unpleasant. My wife (who is an award winning Asian chef herself) discovered her biryani was infused with Rose water prompting the question "so wrong - just what are they doing back there ?"
I don't think "disappointing" is quite strong enough to express how I felt when I left. I won't be coming back.
This is a gem of a restaurant near Bristol airport.
The service and food were excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal
The surroundings are comfortable and the food is value for money.
Have visited in the past as a couple and the food has always been lovely. Yesterday visited with some friends as a table of 7 and the food and service was just as good! Definitely the best Thai food around the area! Will be back :)

I am disappointed with the service at Chillies at Tattenham Corner. We were met with a lack of accommodation and, to make matters worse, the gentleman behind the bar was condescending. I have a Nut Allergy, and when we inquired about avoiding dishes containing nuts, one of the employees expressed concerns about cross-contamination due to the spices being sourced from India, which I appreciated as a valid concern for my safety and theirs. However, the man behind the bar then sarcastically suggested I could "just have chips." and laughed. We immediately left and went to another nearby Indian restaurant, where we received exceptional service and they went above and beyond to ensure my meal was nut-free. The treatment at Chillies was sadly disappointing.
