Down South to Saltburn for work on our Caddy. Ignored reviews and booked direct with the hotel. Deposit until arrival. Owners now run this establishment. ALL staff Friendly and attentive. Our Room was beautifully decorated, tea and coffee facilities, shower room with toiletries, spotless towels, comfortable clean bed with nice crisp cotton sheets. Food in restaurant was exceptional. The restaurant newly opened with lovely decor. Owner took time to speak with all customers. Bar area ample. Breakfast consisted of continental and a fry up which was ordered the previous night served in the cafe area. Hotel was spotless throughout. Only downside was we could only get phones and WiFi in the restaurant and bar area possibly due to being located in a valley.

Ordered on there app and got a collection time of 21.04 got there at 20.55 and sat waiting, finally at atound 21.10 a member of staff acknowledged me i said Ordered on the app. Lady asks what app and i explained there app / web site lady starts looking through orders and says havent got mine. Explained and showed them the order online to be made out to be a lier, she said that i placed order and said its still in the basket as they dont have it. Showed them again it says order history and showes time of order & time to collect and even says at bottom to press to re order. Again made out to be a lier, said they would take order there and make it asap, got our order home to find no kids drink with the kids meal, the chicken satay was full of chillies when i showed them exactly what I wanted in the chicken satay and chillis was not on there, i can normaly take hot food but my god this blew my head off. Its never been that spicy before ( maby they done this deliberately due to the issue with the app order ) my mouth has been burning, my toungs on fire my eyes watering its made my tummy burn and feel sick, been struggling so much the food has been wasted and gone in the bin as its just not edible..so disappointed and £16 down the drain. Cant even speak to call the restaurant my mouth is in so much pain. Reply to there response: why would I delete the review when your system obviously had a fault as it showed order, order number and even a collection time so order had gone through. Also no apology about the missing kids drinks or even we that we could get them next time we ordered, no apology about the amount of chillies is the satay, all yous are bothered aboubis removing a negative review and not mention the missing items

We arrived today at about 1pm with our two dogs. We were greeted and pointed to the dog area. The dog friendly area is very small which wasn’t a problem as there was a table free. We were ordered at the bar and then the knocking and banging from building work started and was on and off during our time there. It would have been nice if someone had informed us that this was going on before we ordered and got settled for what was to be a leisurely lunch. The meals came after a reasonable wait, husbands steak pie huge and tasty, however I ordered the fishcake. It was on a bed of wilted rocket that was supposed to be the seasonal salad, the fishcake had all broken up it had been fried so much and the poached egg was virtually hard. I asked the waitress if that was it and she said she had checked with the chef and it was, but she didn’t want to serve it. I obviously sent it back and made a different order which was pleasant but we both ended up eating lunch at different times. No one came over to check on the second meal or to apologise. The pub was very quiet and there were numerous staff dotting about. Very poor customer service. Surely it would have been better to gain a happy customer on site rather than a poor review on Facebook. We left very disappointed. The only really exceptional thing was the dogs 4oz rump steak.
