A couple of days ago, I went here with my girlfriend. The food was delicious, but a few hours after dinner, I started vomiting and had severe stomach pain. Shortly after, my girlfriend experienced the same. When I spoke to a friend about this, they mentioned having a similar experience. I hope the restaurant can look into this issue.

Back Inn Time has been our go-to spot for years, and it never disappoints! The service, food, and atmosphere are truly unbeatable. We’ve never had a bad meal, and each visit feels like a treat. The staff here is outstanding, with the waiters and waitresses always making us feel welcome. A special shoutout to Kerry and Jane, who go above and beyond, making sure every detail is perfect—they’re attentive, friendly, and make you feel at home. We happily travel quite a distance to dine here regularly, and it’s well worth it every time. For anyone considering a visit, don't hesitate—you’ll leave satisfied and looking forward to your next meal!

Last Saturday, we visited for a table for two. From the outset, the restaurant's decor was unusual – perhaps I’m not trendy enough to fully appreciate a mural of Bob Marley smoking a spliff. However, the staff were welcoming and attentive, seating us promptly and taking our drinks order soon after. I ordered sparkling water, but they initially served still; it was quickly corrected. The water came in a house-branded bottle with a grolsh top, I would have preferred a recognisable brand. For starters, we had pork and burrata. The burrata was served with chargrilled peaches, a dish I’ve had at The White Horse in Brancaster, where it was superb. However, this version was underwhelming – the peaches were thinly sliced, more like a garnish than a key part of the dish. There was a crumb under the burrata, but it didn’t offer much-needed contrast to the texture. It wasn’t bad, but “mediocre” is the best way to describe it. The mains were no different. My fish was cooked well, but the dish lacked real flavor. We also ordered triple-cooked chips, which tasted like they had been pre-cooked the day before and then fried – definitely not the crispy, golden delight we had hoped for. When the server asked how our food was, we answered "okay," because that’s exactly how it was – just okay. Unfortunately, there wasn’t much room for improvement at this point. Dessert was similarly disappointing. I opted for the crème brûlée, which is usually a favorite of mine. But instead of the comforting contrast between silky custard and a crisp sugar crust, I was served a rectangular slab that was far too gelatinous, with the thinnest layer of caramelized sugar. It wasn’t an improvement on the classic version. Worse, both dessert plates were stone cold, suggesting the desserts were pre-made and chilled. I was reticent about whether to take this as a learning experience and move on or write a review. Having looked at other reviews, I noticed the owner seems very unhappy whenever anyone dares to criticise his establishment. Hopefully, he can take this feedback onboard and use it in a positive way to improve the dining experience. Ultimately, everything felt prepared ahead of time and reheated as needed, leaving the food lacking freshness. The price didn’t reflect the quality of what was served, and I left thoroughly disappointed. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning anytime soon.

A group of four of us called in for lunch. Plenty of parking. We were welcomed in a offered a choice of rooms to be seated. All the staff were very pleasant and accommodating. Good choice of drinks and the food was fantastic. We sat in the front seating area which was bright and good for watching the goings on in the town. There are back rooms that offered a quieter experience and plenty of covered garden areas. We fully intend to return in the near future.

A total of 5 of us booked for Sunday lunch and were accommodated in a private dining room, which itself was very pleasant. However, of the 3 scotch eggs ordered, only 2 were available. The roast chicken was not available at all. That apart, the most frustrating element concerned the pannacotta desserts. Two were ordered and both were deemed to be of strange taste and texture, and were left largely uneaten. The waitress was told this and she went to confer. When she came back she said that she had tasted them and thought they were fine, and indeed the chef had reportedly told her that that was how they were. 'As an gesture of goodwill' she deducted the cost of 1 from the bill. The bill came to over £250, additionally 2 of our party were staying at the hotel and furthermore an absent family member had bought a bottle of champagne separately for us to enjoy with the meal. All that, and they could only reduce the bill by £9.50! To my mind a more appropriate thing to do would be to have offered an alternative dessert or deducted the cost of both, rather than the waitress just telling us her opinion.

Came for dinner with a two year old and were made very welcome with the offer of a smaller version of whatever pizza we wanted for him. The service was friendly and attentive and even the bill was presented quickly when requested (and this often does not happen in restaurants much to my annoyance). The quality of the dough in particular for our calzone and pizzas was exceptional as were the toppings. The sharing antipasta classico was more than enough for 4 adults. The stand out dessert was the lemon sorbet with prosecco and limoncello, a knockout!! We particularly liked the atmostphere, the decoration and the wide spacing between the tables downstairs (I can't speak for the upstairs seating). All in all a good value, high quality Italian that is family friendly. We will be back.

We had an early dinner here before going to the theatre. I was so glad that I booked, as the restaurant was very busy. The service was excellent, very speedy. The food was amazing! I can highly recommend this Italian. We will definitely be coming back!

It was ok. My partner and I saw they had a vegan burger. It was ok. A little over priced. The guy who took our order said they had a meal deal with a drink, anything in the fridge. We asked including the beer. He said yes but beer was separate as I figured. It was a bit confusing. The place is a bit loud. It's one of those buildings that has not much sound dampening so everything sounds loud. We probably won't try it again.

Myself & 3 Friends were recommended to booked Shadohna for our regular Curry. Restaurant is stylish & spacious. Clean & Airy, comfortable seating. Our Waiter put us in a window table for 4, 4th seat scrunched against window. Plenty of room in the Restaurant, we asked to be moved to a more sensible table. We felt we were sat in window to make restaurant appear busy ? Service polite/not pushy. Starters all good, main course held until we were ready. Dishes tasty, savoury , generous portions.side dishes cooked well. One main course only lukewarm. Roti bread disappointing. I chose a special main course, cooked with Sambuka, different & tasty, I would order again. Mixed opinions regarding the meals tbh. All in all an ok pleasant evening. Worth a visit.
