Came here in November for a meal The food was absolutely fantastic. Had a share platter (£97) The seafood all tasted so fresh and was cooked to perfection. The piece of seafood tart/quiche that came with it would have been nicer warm, we didn't eat it all, but the rest of the food was delicious. Will certainly return

I like this hotel and always choose to stay here when I can afford it when I am in Cambridge for business. The location is ideal for walking to places in the old part of Cambridge, and there are e-scooters and e-bikes for rental just across the road which make it easy to explore further afield. The start are very polite. My room was large with a comfortable bed; however the air conditioning was noisy and ineffective and it was difficult to get the room at a comfortable temperature, and the hot water wasn’t quite hot enough for a bath. The room rate has become rather expensive (nearly £200 for 1 person B&B plus £28 per night for parking) and at these prices I would expect a flawless luxury room. They really need to consider replacing the aging a/c units. Restaurant is expensive. Breakfast is quite good.

We have been here before, and had a lovely meal, food was good quality and the service was excellent. Unfortunately, it was not this time the food was mediocre at best. We ordered 2 lamb shish and 1 mixed shish. I asked to swap the rice with chips as I do not eat rice or grains, to be told that they won't do that as they were throwing away far too much rice, and they could change it to bulger so I looked at the menu again to change my choice, but there was nothing else I wanted so I decided I wouldn't order anything. That went down well with my wife....not. It was only when my wife said she would not order and my son wouldn't either. Only then did the waitress go and speak to the manager to ask if we could change the rice to chips, so the manager came over and said for me, this time he could do that. The food came out, the lamb was overcooked and chewy, and one small piece of tortilla wrap, a warm tomato and a small salad bowl for 3 of us, and for the money I was disappointed to say the least, on the quality and service. To be honest, I would rather spend my money else where. Last time was really good, as I said, I feel they have shrunk portion sizes and the quality of their food but are still charging the same prices. It's a shame.

Just under £32 for one cup of tea and two Welsh rarebit, which was one slice of half burnt half undercooked bread, tasteless cheese and a just ok accompanying salad each, in my view constitutes pretty poor value for money, would not go again tbh.

Had lunch here today. What fantastic food. I had Sea Bass and it was so good. I would definitely order this same dish again. We were also served the battered haddock and that was just as good. Lovely crispy batter and so fresh. Great food and the best service. Staff were very friendly and helpful despite being busy. What a place, hope to be going back soon.
