We tried this place for the first time a few months back and really enjoyed the food. So much so we said this can be our takeaway spot when we fancy something because we are finding it really hard to find nice takeaway places near us. We visited again and didn't enjoy the food. The cod was very greasy, and I'm not sure what oil it was cooked it but it was actually quite horrible. It gave the food a tinted orange colour. The chips weren't the best either. We let it slide, and said maybe they had to change things. We tried again recently and it was the same again. Very greasy, orangey looking coloured battered fish, chips didn't seem the freshest. The fish is always stuck to the paper too and ends up very wet and soggy, so I feel like you end up losing some of the batter. The fish hasn't seemed fresh, white, fluffy and nicely battered like the first time we tried them. I disliked it so much compared to the first time we tried it that I said I never want to eat from here again unfortunately. The service is brilliant. That I can't fault.

We always enjoy eating at Ricardo's and are made very welcome. The food is excellent, as is the service. It is our family's favourite place to eat.

One of the worst fish and chips I’ve ever had!!! Chips just tasted of old dirty oil, the battered sausage was soggy and completely inedible and the friend chicken was dry and tasteless with the batter uncooked on the inside. Meal was so awful it was inedible, complete waste of time and money. Was left feeling unwell all night and wouldn’t return again. Avoid !!!!!

We had a wonderful experience with the handmade cake—it was not only beautiful but also absolutely delicious! Thank you so much for the thought and care you put into making my daughter’s birthday cake so special. The pizza and Italian dishes were also excellent, and the owner’s friendliness truly made us feel welcome. Thanks again for everything!

A good old fashioned pub on the edge of the city, seasoned regulars and a great landlady. What more could you ask for? Service with a smile and a community drinking in their local, fantastic!

Just had my second visit to the Pear Tree Pantry. Ordered the full breakfast and large Cappuccino. Did not disappoint. Everything tasty. Well presented and served by lovely warm and friendly staff. LORRAINE and SOPHIA. A little treasure found. Will visit again soon. Excellent food. Highly recommend. Bon Appetite.

I think this might just be the best roast dinner I have ever had in a restaurant. I highly recommend. I had the roast chicken and the sticky toffee pudding, both of which were divine. Really lovely and attentive staff. Definitely coming back.

Great food , anything we order or eat in I would say they are the best kebab restaurant in walthamcross. Most recently I had Iskander which is my favourite dish, all I can 10/10
