Zeret Kitchen

Camberwell Green, Southwark
27/10/2020: In fairness we have only been to 3 Ethiopian restaurants in the UK but this place is fantastic. We lived in Addis Ababa for 6 years and sometimes the craving for Ethiopian food is overwhelming. So we booked a hotel, got on a train and made our way for London just to visit Zeret's kitchen. We weren't disappointed. We ordered the Zeret surprise which had all the things we miss and it was such good value for money and totally delicious. The owner exuded warm Ethiopian hospitality and the atmosphere is also lovely. We will be back.
19/10/2020: Something I have never tried before, very tasty and authentic. The staff was lovely and helpful with recommendations.

St James's, City of London,Westminster, 45-60£
07/12/2020: I would highly recommend the afternoon Tea, great variety of option and tastes amazing. The ambience is lovely and the staff are very friendly. The cocktails are worth the try especially happy hour and if you are brave the springbok shot is definitely worth try. Definitely going back for more biltong
12/11/2020: I relaxed atmosphere with African inspired dishes and wines. Great for small groups or couples alike.

High Timber

Bread Street,Castle Baynard,Cordwainer,Dowgate,Farringdon Within,Farringdon Without,Queenhithe,Vintry,Walbrook, City of London,Westminster, 20-30£
19/10/2020: They have a new steak dish, sirloin tagliata, that is insanely good. Quiet evening and all tables far from each other, staff in masks and still prompt. Such a lovely restaurant.Go!

Enish Nigerian Restaurant Croydon

Fairfield, Croydon
27/03/2021: In regards to my experience, overall severely disappointed! Unfortunately the service was 1 out of 10 and the food portion size was pathetic however this was good as the food was not fresh the Suya was the texture of rubber, tasteless and very dissatisfying. I could not Finnish the food and threw it away!
10/03/2021: The Suya was wet and smelt weird, never again KMT 😤

Nando's - Covent Garden

St James's, City of London,Westminster

Jollof n Jerk

Figge's Marsh, Merton
02/11/2020: One of my go-to places to eat. awesome location, clean, and awesome customer service. A must try!

Shaka Zulu

Camden Town with Primrose Hill, Camden
30/12/2020: Very disappointed with our night our in this establishment. Poor service and basic food; bedside manner of staff that waited on us left much to be desired. Barman rude.
07/12/2020: On walking in I absolutely loved the decor and set up and it was so lovely to have a decent size table. The service was initially very good indeed. The cocktails were great. That’s where it went downhill. We didn’t have starters as we ordered the chateaubriand and 4 sides snd 2 sauces. We asked for this medium rare to medium. When the steak came out, there was a fair bit of blood on the plate and it was still very fleshy. The waitress did apologise to us, saying she had specifically said between medium rare and medium. We asked for the steak to be cooked just for an extra minute or two. 10 minutes later and after asking twice; our steak emerged and was well done and now tough and difficult to cut. They did replace all the sides as these had now gone cold and did offer a discount on the steak which was welcomed, but when you have gone somewhere specifically for the steak and it’s the part of the meal that was ruined, it’s a real shame. Even with the £35 off, it was still an expensive bill for chips, veg and a couple of drinks each. Maybe we were just unlucky but based on our experience, I wouldn’t rush back. Had the steak been cooked how we requested, I think it would’ve been quite a different experience.

Zafari Bar & Grill

Chessington South, Kingston upon Thames
27/10/2020: Although the staff were friendly the food was awful. There was not much to choose from, there was chips and a selection of unhealthy foods available. A pasta or some chicken and gravy. It was definitely not worth the £20 per person that i paid. The birthday cake that they made us while it looked good it was rather sickly and the edges of the icing had melted making it weirdly wet and sticky. Deserts are only worth it for the ice cream, they were sickly sweet and i couldn't finish the tiny portions. The drinks machine was pretty awful too, i wanted a diet coke but ended up with fizzy water (it was really strange!)The breakfast in the morning was not the best either but i cant complain with it being free. Its not worth eating here at all.
25/10/2020: Given a 5 star based on the lovey meal which exceeded expectations however there is room for improvement. Having to order and pay on the app is a pain. The staff were not really sure on it when I asked how to order drinks on there and having pre paid I ended up paying twice hoping for a refund later. Drinks arrived quickly and food followed shortly after. Staff were pleasant and the manageress was helpful when I raised my paying twice concerns.Food was not cheap but exceeded expectations and we came away very happy with the food. Our only regret is using the temple restaurant for breakfast instead.

Kokeb Ethiopian Restaurant

Caledonian, Islington, <20£
03/03/2021: I love Kokeb, the food is always so so good!! And it’s run by the kindest warmest woman. It has even become a regular for us to get as takeaway during lockdown, stays good because the flavours marinate. Our favourites we get are the Doro Wot, Veg combo, and Key Minchet abish. I agree with the other reviews on here, this place is special!!

280 Degrees African Restaurant & Bar

Kilburn, Camden, 20-30£
19/03/2021: Suace and juices tasted amazing all the meat was either full of gristle or drier than the Sahara. Snails were like leather aswell
18/03/2021: 280degrees Jellof rice has been a winning treat for my family. As soon as you give an option for a takeaway night, everyone will be in total agreement for 280degrees jellof rice.No rice grain is left afterwards and is really always a finger licking experience for the whole family. We always look forward to jellof nights. Can’t wait for the lockdown to be over and we can eat in.Thank you 280 for making my family agree on one thing .Happy customer
