ZiZi in West Dorset

Had the most lovely time here tonight. Food 10/10 and service couldn’t have been better by Chelsey. Nothing was too much trouble

Table booked last Saturday evening for 9 friends for a birthday celebration. We ordered wine for the table which came but no glasses. We were told there were no wine glasses left would we accept tumblers. We all said no. The waitress said a lot of people had ordered wine so there were no clean glasses left. She also said the bar man was too lazy to wash any up??? Zizzis you are a restaurant and yes people do order wine. Two of the meals were sent back. Risotto which resembled slop!! Sea bass was a small dish for the money. We all said we would not return. It was a shame as it was a birthday celebration and should have been an enjoyable experience which is wasn’t.

I don't normally write reviews that are negative but I felt I wanted to write this review as I had a disappointing VERY expensive meal at Zizzi Dorchester. It was my daughter's birthday, we had a voucher from buy a gift to redeem against our meal. The atmosphere was lovely and most of the staff were lovely and helpful. We had just a main which I have to say came out very quickly which was great. Food very nice. 4 meals & 4 drinks £85. The price of food here has shot up. The average price for a main meal was £15/16. Drinks were around £6-£9 each! 🤦 We had no complimentary dishes on the table and could see everyone else did. We didn't ask as we were not that bothered. What bothered me was the male server who came up to us and asked if we would like a dessert, to which we said no thank you. He then replied, no problem, I will get your bill as I need your table back in less than 10 minutes. 😮😮😮😮🤦 We had been at the table for 55 minutes. I feel that we have been shoved off our table at the quickest possible moment. I've worked and run restaurants in my life and totally understand the need for turnover but this guy was rude. Will I eat there again.......no.

Came here for an enjoyable evening meal and had food off of the valentines set menu and it was scrumptious. Our waiter Sam was quick and efficient, easy to talk to and made me and my partner feel relaxed. Top marks to him for making our experience enjoyable and couldn’t fault his brilliant service.

Came here the other night with some friends. Not the first time I've been here but I thought I'd leave something X it's a really lovely restaurant with a nice vibe and not too expensive for a dinner out. Out server was lovely, I believe her name was Ella, but I'm not 100%. The sharing platter was lovely that we shared and I had the garlic meatball pasta which sadly wasn't my favourite ( thought it would have had a bit more sauce, and the meatballs fell apart quite a bit) but every other time I've been there the food was lovely! Overall great night, I recommend.

We had dinner at this Zizzi. It has a good atmosphere and we were greeted by a cheerful pleasant receptionist who showed us to our table. Our waitress was fabulous - friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. we chose chicken dishes which were delicious and beautifully presented. The price was very reasonable. We will return.

Food was great but wouldn't accept cash. won't be returning again. If i had known beforehand i wouldn't have booked.

This Dorchester restaurant is so busy you have to book at busy times. We often come here and it just gets better. The food last night was amazing! We had garlic bread, pizza, pasta and a seafood pasta. We all had pudding too. The new raspberry and gin cheesecake is the best pudding I've had in ages. The dessert menu now has many more options. Service was great, we had a really enjoyable evening!

My partner and I enjoyed a delicious meal here on a Saturday night. The atmosphere was lovely, the staff were very polite and the table service was very fast. There was an option to order food and pay using a QR code, however as I had booked online and informed the staff that we had food allergies / intolerances, we were waited at our table and allergy information was also available. We ordered Pasta crisps, my partner had the Chicken Milanese and I had the Vegan Lasagne, which had a very rich tomato sauce. I really enjoyed this! We already look forward to our next visit.

I don’t mind Zizzi restaurants as I am lover of Italian food but haven’t found a restaurant in over 8 years that has been amazing until we came here for dinner! Came on a Saturday evening around 8pm and the restaurant wasn’t that busy. We decided to order a selection of different food to share for our anniversary and it was absolutely spot on! Fonduta Formaggi King Prawn Spiedini with Seafood Sauce Rustica Piccante King Prawn Linguine Brownie & Honeycomb Pizzette It was hot, fresh and delicious. Haven’t enjoyed a meal like that in so long. Our waitress was very good and the food took no more than 10minutes to come out.

Popped in to have dinner on a Saturday. The manager was quite abrupt with us when I said we didn't have a booking, he made it clear we only had just over an hour to eat before they needed the table. He took our empty plates 30 minutes later and practically snatched my friend's from her as she ate her last mouthful. No offer of a dessert or more drinks was made even though we still had 40 minutes before 'our time was up'

Booked for dinner with my partner and two friends and we had such a lovely evening. We were served by our waitress Ebony and waiter Dean. They were absolutely fantastic and worked so well together ensuring we did not have to wait for anything. They were very observant and asked if we needed another drink when ours were almost empty. There was not a large wait time on food and we felt that we had enough time between our starters and main to enjoy each other’s company. We had calamari , garlic bread and a fondues for starters. The garlic bread was incredible and the calamari and fonduta certainly did not disappoint. For mains my partner had the sticky pig pizza and we were surprised by the generous sizing of the pizza! The rest of us had pasta and my carbonara was the best I have had. We only got two desserts and shared them because the portions are huge! We had the honeycomb cheese cake and the chocolate brownie Sundae and both were to die for. The service and food were 10/10 . We honestly could not find anything to fault. A huge thankyou to everyone at Zizzi for a lovely evening. We cannot wait to return.

Poor disinterested service, cramped table in a dingy nook, awful food, drinks on the list not available, no one interested to enquire either or wish us goodnight. UK franchised food at its worst.

Visited here a couple of times but I was never that impressed with the food, despite their money-off offers if you dine there mid-week. The best pizza ever can be found at nearby Basil.co in Dorchester.

Came here with work colleagues on a busy Friday night, we were kept waiting an hour for our starter, I chose not to have a starter and therefore had to wait another hour for my main course, by which time I was starving! Food was average, clearly designed for mass production. Food is expensive for what you get and drinks are overpriced.

This was my second visit to a Zizzi restaurant, and the first time to the Dorchester branch. I had been very underwhelmed with the Taunton Restaurant and had reason to complain and received a voucher as an apology. I was rather reluctant to return again. However, I was absolutely delighted with this branch of the chain. The service and food was spot on.It was a Wednesday night and the restaurant was very busy. The service was sleek, professional, and allowed diners to enjoy their meal at their own pace. I was so impressed with the food, and thoroughly enjoyed it. So much, that I had three courses, something I don't make a habit of! My husband also enjoyed his meal and this led to a very enjoyable dining experience. I had the vegetable soup, followed by a king prawn linguine. For dessert I had pomegranate sorbet which was served with dried raspberries, popping candy, and you pour Prosecco over the top! It was fun, and also a really lovely light dessert to have. It was a real inspired choice, and I highly recommend it.

I went here for a date, the atmosphere was good and quiet enough to chat without shouting.The staff were fast to serve us, in fact way too fast. We came to relax, chat and get some dinner but it felt more like a fast food joint than an italian restaurant.After being asked for our food order 4-5 times we eventually said they we were chatting and we would let them know when we were ready to order, to stop them hassling us every couple minutes.The food and drinks were all fine, nothing great but nothing bad.......average

Met with a friend who I haven't seen for years, both love Italian food and fond memory of breakfasts here. Food was classic zizi staff however seemed very disorganised, kept interrupting chat, I like that staff care but I felt like everyone who worked here came to check it was ok and that was before are main course.

Three of us arrived with no booking and received attentive service and a good meal. We wanted prompt service and food as we were going on elsewhere for a timed event and they gave us that. Buzzy and bright and perfect for our needs on that occasion.

We enjoyed our meals from the Festive Menu over the Christmas period. Once on Christmas Eve and then on New Years Eve. We both had the top menu choice which included a glass of Prosecco to start and a glass of Limoncello after the food. Food was all very nice and tasty. The one fault on both dates was that the restaurant had run out of the vouchers, they promised to provide, for discounts on food between 4th and 31st January.......so we missed out on this offer!

I ordered a gluten free pizza - crispy round the edge, uncooked in the middle - swopped it for gluten free pasta with pulled beef and venison sauce - very unpleasant. Friend ordered meatball pasta bake - pasta wasn't cooked - sent it back, was returned with extra chilli added which made it too hot to eat... Waiting staff tried hard, manager was disinterested, goodness only knows what was going on in the kitchen. Didn't pay all of the bill. Certainly won't be going back.

I like zizzis and this one does not let the chain down, in a good location. Acoustics can be a little difficult at times though.

Went with my wife and two children on a cold and wet Saturday evening. Waited at the door to be seated for about 10 minutes only to then wait at our table for another 20 minutes......Nothing. 3 members of floor staff and about 16 customers to serve!!! Got up and went to pizza express next door, much busier (we can see why) in, fed and watered in just over an hour. Look and learn zizi.

We visit Zizzi at least once a month, very nice! Busyness varies depends on what days! Week days service is very quick, weekends you have to wait longer, but that's what to expect! Food is still excellent any day! I love the Spaghetti Carbonara, pizzas and calzones! With a nice bottle of Pinot! very nice location too! friendly approachable staff too!

I expected it to be something special the first time I ate there but it was disappointing. We were a party of four; two of us had fish which was overcooked and unappetising. The staff were very polite and changed it immediately but it was hardly any better. The second time we went we tried a pasta which was equally disappointing. We have not returned. Such a pity as its in such a good position.

Had a nice time in here, fairly cheap food for what you get although I wouldn't recommend the spaghetti carbonara which is what I had.There was no creamy sauce it was pretty much spaghetti in oily type sauce/coating. Which made me feel a bit sick later on in the evening because of the oil. However the garlic bread is really good. I would go here again but have something different.

Fed up indoors on a rainy afternoon, we decided to go for a drive, and ended up in Dorchester. We parked at the Market Car Park and made our way to Brewery Square. After watching the skaters on the ice rink we thought it would be nice to have a cake and a hot drink, so we made our way to Zizzi which was opposite the ice rink. We were shown to a table by the window, and had a good view of the open oven where the food was cooked. We ordered latte and tiramisu which arrived quite quickly and was delicious. The waiter was very friendly and although it was quite busy he did not get at all flustered and certainly knew his job. A lovely place to drop into for a quick stop or a more substantial meal. Can't wait to visit again.
