Ziyafet - Restaurant in Greenwich

My friends and I went at lunchtime today 8th Feb 2024 . This was my first visit, though one of our party is a regular visitor and was her recommendation that we booked a table . We all chose different meals, from the very reasonably priced two course lunchtime menu, which had good choices of Vegetarian options too. The service was friendly, swift and unobtrusive. When asked if they had any Biscoff to go with the lovely Coffee, they even went out and bought some especially ! We all agreed we had a tasty lunch and would be back . Two courses and coffee £21 each ! There were some lovely looking desserts on the Menu, but we was too full from the plentiful and freshly prepared lunch . Thank you, for making it so nice for us !

Fatty meat asked by waitress was food ok told her the lamb was fatty she just looked at me, then the lady behind counter came over and asked the same question told her the same and she just looked at me and walked off. no sorry, no discount. why ask the question and no care and then not correct the problem. Gone down hill since last visit

The mixed kebab is absolutely fantastic 👌 and for £17 collection is well worth it chicken shish/donner and lamb shish/donner

Didnt enter the restaurant . As we approached from the other side of the road looked up and noticed the blind above the restaurant was filthy dirty, could do with a good steam cleaning .Put us off going in

If i could give zero i would. Spent £40 on a platter with food that is not even fresh. No taste too. Very dirty place and freezing. However as my parents told them nicely they are unhappy they did not give a care in the world. Since they have come home they have been going toilet and vomitting! Shocking as they should actually want to keep customers happy rather than giving them food poisoning! I do not recommend at all

Firstly, we have been supporting this restaurant since it opened. Ordered the meals with a request that the mixed donor was to be well done, the same as each visit. The waiter replied that he likes that way, Well, the donor was very lightly cooked, not return visit by the waiter to check the food was all good. The chips were okay, and the salad bowl. Did not touch the donor. Informed the waiter. The bill was full price and needed to return to the restaurant 5 minutes later as overcharged as well. £5.00. This is the last time we will be visiting this place. It's time to find somewhere else. £65.00 and going home hungry.

Just had a mixed meat meal. I have never had soggy chicken before. But there is a first time for everything I guess. Most of the time it's OK in there. But we won't be returning.

I love the food here, not so much the actual restaurant and service, unfortunately. The restaurant was freezing, the people on the table next to us agreed. I put my scarf on! We both had a starter, and while we were still eating them, the waitress asked if we'd like our mains. I said once we've finished our starters please, but she brought the food over anyway. It felt like we were in a fast food restaurant. Staff generally seemed more interested in chatting among themselves and a few people they seemed to know, and the delivery drivers who kept popping in and out. Didn't feel very welcome at all, such a shame. Very rarely do we not leave a tip, but we didn't tonight.

We cane to eat last night as my mother in law booked my sister in laws birthday meal there. However as on arrival we felt the waiter and waitress attitude and was rush to order and eat. Also they kept coming over and and removing plates when people was still eating. The food was very pricey but wasn’t presented well at all. I would not recommend these place at all

Do not ever tip here! All tips go to the boss and the staff get nothing!!! Staff was caught keeping the tip that she got given by a customer who said “this is for you!” And got shouted at by the boss outside for keeping it! Awful man! Also knocked her confidence telling her nobody will take her on because she isn’t trained in alcohol!

i ordered rice they sent chips the kebab was disgusting and went straight in the bin the driver got lost and I had to walk barefoot to him , they also forgot to put the sauce on my kebab. Disgusting and not cheap for the abismal qulity

Really lovely food and nice service.

Well, my kids are talking about the next time we go there so it must have been pretty good..! Had a table next to the kitchen and they loved seeing the food being cooked over the coals. Staff all friendly and the meals were very nice

We were introduced to Ziyafet by friends who live in Eltham. They said this is the busiest Turkish eatery in the area and the food is really good. We had a train to meet so unfortunately we were only able to stay for the hot and cold mixed mezze starters and drinks but the staff are very friendly and accommodated our rather short order. I recommend the lamb mince pastry on the hot mezze menu and I am only sad that we couldn't stay to order more of the same.

Been to better places, I mean this place doesn't necessarily need a 1 star from me, as it wasn't absolutely terrible, I ordered a margarita.. that wasn't a margarita (I am a trained bartender and run my own business. That was tequila with juice and a salted rim, don't get me wrong it was nice, but it wasn't a margarita. We had a couple of starters as we were going somewhere, we were planning on going back, however I found it a bit off putting that the boss/owner who was in the kitchen questioning the staff why we wanted to leave? I mean it's a free country isn't it? We had somewhere to go, we also explained to the waitress when we ordered that we just wanted a drink and some snacks as we were rushing (Your board outside does state "BAR" next to the word restaurant) starters were nice though but general atmosphere won't make me miss this place.

The waitress was lovely but the manager was unprofessional in the fact he told her to go get food rather than serve us. He was as unwelcoming as you could imagine. I feel sorry for his staff. Shame the manager let the whole place down.

We had had this place recommended to us by a friend that is' possibly, the fussiest eater in the world. This is now, currently, my most favourite Cypriot restaurant full stop and will take some beating! We only stopped for lunch, yesterday, but what wonderful food and staff. We will be returning for dinner, at some point, to sample the platter. Highly recommended

We had a lovely meal, with friendly staff. We had the seafood skewers, they were really good. Towards the end of the meal, we had to get the waiters attention for deserts etc,. We would definitely go back.

Came here for dinner one Friday night. We didn’t have a booking but they managed to fit us in. We was sat a bit close to other people but we didn’t book ahead and things have got to get back to normal I guess. The service was excellent and the food was absolutely delicious, we left feeling very full and I would definitely return

My daughter lives in Eltham, so we met up and had an impromptu dinner here. She'd been her before, and assured me I'd like it- I most certainly did! Our hummus starter was delicious; probably the best I've had, really creamy. Both our mains were equally of high quality. I had the vegetarian moussaka- superb- not too much sauce, so that one could really taste the ingredients. My daughter had grilled lamb- beautifully cooked and presented. Prices here are so reasonable for such good food. Can see why it was busy, even on a week night. Obviously very popular with local families, groups of friends etc. Keep up the good work!

Ordered through Uber eat and paid £34.70, received an order of someone else of £21.80 which wasn’t my order, called Ziyafet they would take responsibility and asked me to call Uber eat although they did get a call from the other customer, called Uber driver who didn’t speak English properly and who wouldn’t take responsibility for their mistake. So in the end I lost my money and my kids and I didn’t get what we ordered plus the situation just made us so upset. So Ziyafet has lost us as a customer and Uber eat has lost us as well. We rather use different company.

Very rude and unprofessional unhelpful staff extremely arrogant do not care about customer all they want is the money . Rufuse to deal with customer order blaming Uber eat for there mistake. Scoring a 1 is too generous should be below zero. Will definitely lose customers with this kind of behaviour and poor service. Lastly the food is getting worst and worst greasy and food are not fresh.

We had a great family dinner last night. We ordered three courses and the food was excellent throughout. The highlight was the mixed kebab fantastic portions and my wife loved the rice pudding.

I went to eat after gym.I chose a quarter chicken with fries and salad for 5.50 was reasonable.They brought half a chicken breast and was like the mornings cooking and didnt taste good. This was in the noon.Waiter asked me how it was i sad not bad because i was just being polite... he found it amusing like a third class citizen. No intellect.It wasnt good at all.

Traditional and old school Turkish restaurant. Service is quick and friendly. Food is well made and the portions are generous. Reasonably priced and well located too with parking nearby

I eat here with my family regularly. Amazing selection of authentic Turkish cuisine, cooked to a high standard and with a well varied menu. My children love it here. Staff are always friendly and its always busy. Its also cheap, so what's not to like?

Vine aquí un sábado por la noche para cenar. Hicimos una reserva previa de una mesa y tuvimos suerte de haberlo hecho, ya que el restaurante estaba repleto. Teníamos una mesa arriba que era perfecta ya que abajo parecía un poco pequeña. Pedimos el plato de carne para compartir entre 3 de nosotros y fue absolutamente enorme. Había todo tipo de carne diferente que se te ocurriera y todo estaba cocinado a la perfección. Las patatas fritas y el arroz que venían con él era la cantidad perfecta. El precio total para los 3 de nosotros era menor de 50 años y todos estábamos llenos. Sin duda recomendaría probar este restaurante.

Went to the restaurant when visiting Eltham Palace due to excellent reviews and it did not disappoint. Friendly atmosphere and fantastic food , very generous servings and at very reasonable prices. We ate early and the restaurant was filling up rapidly with regulars. Highly recommended.

Really good food, well served, tasty and nice waiters. We had a good time here. And we still took some food home. The price is fair.

We didn't book but got a table for mid week - however, from 7 onwards place filled up quickly with some coming in who had booked in advance.

Wonderful food! Big portions! Very reasonable pricing. The lamb ribs are to die for! Had the halloumi dippers for starters..came with strawberry jam, and it works! Highly recommended if in the area! Very tasty indeed!

Three of us dined here recently. It was a Wednesday evening and got table with no bother. It might be best to book table on Fridays & Saturdays. It's not a massive resturant. There was a steady flow of diners and noticed there were some families with young children too. The starters were good I had Turkish sausage and others had Taramasla. For mains I had the Lamb chops and the others had Kebab. All good quality and cooked nicely. We really liked the Sauteed Potatoes. The portions were good. Service was good, waiter took our order without any fuss.

Realmente decepcionado con la comida. He estado esperando mucho para tener la oportunidad de probar este restaurante y realmente no me impresionó. El entrante frío meze era pequeño y carecía de sabor. El especial de Ziyafet era un plato de grasa sobre arroz basmati. La ensalada parecía seca y poco apetitosa. Nada auténtico turcochipriota sobre esta comida y mi familia son turcochipriotas. El baño era pequeño y sucio. No volveremos Si quieres comida turca ve a otro lado.

He estado allí varias veces cuando abrió por primera vez y ordenó el especial Ziyafet que es una variedad de brochetas y estaba delicioso. Esta vez encontramos que la comida tiene un sabor suave, exagerada y seca. También pedimos el hígado de cordero como entrante, que estaba recién asado y, de nuevo, no era un indicio de ninguna especia / marinada que dejara los hígados secos y con olor. La salsa de chile también estaba líquida y necesitaba sal agregada, prácticamente en todo. Muy decepcionante con Ziyafet ya que probamos muchos otros buenos restaurantes de kebabs y es comparable esta vez, Ziyafet nos decepcionó.

We shared the 2 person mixed kebab (chicken & lamb shish, kofte, lamb doner/chicken donner and it was spot on. The chilli sauce was really nice (a key indicator a kebab is good in my opinion) and all of the meat was cooked just right. The only thing I could say could be improved, if only by a little, was the salad portion and ratios of the vegetables. Will definitely be going again :)

This small restaurant on eltham high street is a little gem serving great Turkish food which is delicious and very reasonable

Had a wonderful evening celebrating my twins 21st birthday. The food was good & excellent value for money. We were made very welcome & nothing was too much trouble. I dropped off some table decorations & a birthday cake earlier in the day & they even turned the lights off & lit all the candles for us.

A corner shop on Eltham High Road split over two floors. The access to the upper floor is by stairs only. Attended with family and friends today. Six of us all told. No reservation. But tables were moved around and we were accommodated. The menu is pretty standard Turkish Cypriot stuff on the kebab side, plus a seafood selection including lobster. Something I will try the next time I attend. This time round it was prawn cocktail starters for three of our party then a selection of lamb kebabs for main courses. The food was cooked very nicely. I ordered the prawn cocktail as a starter, which was somewhat spicey so I took I point off the five stars I might have given if it were a normal less spicey prawn cocktail and the latter dish was perfect.. Before that arrived however we were given some hot sliced pitta breads and olives. The pitta breads' were shop bought but fresh. For my main course I ordered the mixed Kebab. Only order this if you have an appetite. I started off well but soon ran out of steam. The mixed consisted of lamb shish, chicken shish, lamb doner and chicken doner kebabs, plus salad and a choice of couscous, rice or chips. As I said, a large helping and for under £16. It was nicely cooked. I chose chops on the side which were slim cut and crispy on the outside. The shish kebabs were nicely cooked and moist on the inside. The doner kebabs were Okay but in need of some seasoning, so again, 4 stars contributing. On the whole however everyone in our party enjoyed their dinner. Service was attentive, polite and friendly. This shop has competition from Rixos, just down the road, but I must admit, I think Ziyafet is the better for food. Rixos wins on size and decor.

visited this Mediterranean restaurant as it looked quite snug from the outside,once inside the waiter attended to us straight away as the place only has 5 tables so its not big,we ordered drinks which came very quick luckily as i was gasping.

Reservamos la mitad de un sábado por la noche y llegamos unos 15 minutos antes. Esto no fue un problema que estaba abarrotando las escaleras, pero estábamos sentados arriba, donde estaba mucho más tranquilo. Pedimos entrantes y platos principales. Tuve mojeras halloumi y pollo shish. Ambos platos eran encantadores y me sentí muy lleno después. ¡Lo único es que estábamos esperando en la parada del autobús a las 8: 15! Salimos para una comida rara sin los niños, pero terminamos en nuestro local ya que fue muy rápido.

A very good menu of typical Turkish food, with great service. The kitchen is visible from the tables, beautifully clean. For lunch they do a good value special menu. Thoroughly recommend.

Arrived with 2 friends for lunch.Seated and watched as people arrived after us and were served first.Not too pleased with that.The starter was some Houloumi on a plate with cheap Turkish bread.The main was Chicken ,not very tasty, rice ok, with some salad,Overall not bad but far from the best of Turkish lunchtime menus I've tried.Bit grubby, will not return.

The first experience was ok: I have to say that I love grilled lamb, so probably I overestimated the place. Second experience: I went with 7 friends and because I had booked the place or I was paying last and they were about £7 short, they expected me to pay the rest of the money. The member of staff and the manager were very accusative towards us for not having paid the full amount and wanted me and my friends to pay it. The had presented us a non detailed bill, a hand written bill with Food Sweet Drink Service charge Because they didn't take any responsibility we recalculated our amounts and challenged them to create a proper detailed bill (obviously it wasn't for the £7, it was now a matter of principle. You don't have a good billing system and that's how you treat your customers!?! Wow 😳) but as they were doing so, they decided not to charge us anymore. Obviously we were not happy with their treatment. They could have at least apologised for the embarrassment caused and for the accusations. At least if they would have been open to look into it, we would have been able to prove that we paid the right amount of money. Me and my wife were wandering around high street and saw this place on our way. We decided to give it a try and ordered their premium platter for two. The portion size for this premium platter was massive. Despite a lot eating at the table, we’ve taken the rest of the food with us and it has become my lunch the other day. The meats are tasty but I found the doner kebap a bit fatty. Balancing it with rice or bread makes it better.
