Zinc Bar & Grill in Gwynedd

Went in on the off-chance for some food. Were asked if we were eating. We said yes please- we were. We were shown to a table and the server said that she would sort our drinks then come back for our food order. As soon as the drinks arrived and we were going to order food she told us the kitchen was now closed. Her explanation was that she should have taken our food order first. We weren’t even offered the cake menu which other customers who came in after us were given. If we were told when we entered that the kitchen was about to close we’d have tried elsewhere, instead of incurring a £16 bill for drinks we only wanted with our (nonexistent) meals. AVOID!

Just been charged nearly SEVEN POUNDS for a pint of peroni to sit at a dirty table outside!!! Who do they think they are????

We went last night and had a great night, My friend ordered the special chicken which was delicious, And I got the ribeye with peppercorn, do good

New Year's Eve Special Menu scollops to start followed by Chateaubriand to share cooked pink to perfection and came with all the trimmings plus 2 sauces, absolutely amazing! We were looked after by lovely staff and watched the firework display over the harbour at midnight.

We like to support local places in the winter months. We met friends here who had booked. Over all I felt it was expensive for the quality of food. Staff on a positive note were friendly and good atmosphere. Main Course: Lamb was tough, pink as requested but not cooked to tender, and around £28 . Starter: Goats cheese in a ramekin could have been served with a relish as cheese not moist and would not pick up with the bread. Ciabatta bread hard, presented as cut into small pieces. Garnish on the side. Quite difficult to spread the cheese or dip bread into it as it was too firm. around 7 Overall disappointed meal for the cost

We’ve been coming to Zinc for years and we’ve never had a bad meal. The staff are friendly and helpful. Always worth a visit.

Although they advertise breakfast until 11.45am, a very cocky lady behind the bar (who calls everyone "Darling") decided they had finished breakfast at 11.25am leaving us in limbo after travelling there. No apology, nothing - don't trust the opening times advertised, and if you want good service go elsewhere!!!

Quick friendly service. Busy. Had to book online despite going in early pm. One of few restaurants open Tues evening in Abersoch. We really enjoyed our meal. Both had red mullet with red curry rice and fresh veg. Perfectly cooked and good portion for £20.

Called at Zinc for coffee and cake. From the outside this looked a lovely cafe and we weren’t disappointed when we were shown through to the rear with an outlook towards the marina. Drinks arrived very promptly and the young man said the cake was coming……. 20+mins later after enquiring if my cake would be long it arrived. If they had been busy that might have been an excuse but they weren’t. It looked as if the other customers were also waiting.

We got to zinc around 11:40 so knew we’d have to wait for the changeover to lunch which was fine. Sat down. Waited 15mins to come take our drink order. By the time he did we knew what we wanted and the server said ‘I can’t take your order for another minute as it’s only 11:59. Fair enough. 20mins later, we’d drank our drinks and I had to them ask a rude server if we could order. She just rolled her eyes and went ‘oh havent you ordered’ They were all too busy stood at the bar talking to their friend who’d come in to see them to give a toss about customers. Food was very average. £60 bill for 4people, certainly not a decent meal by any standards. My young child spilled her drink over, no offer to replace it. Avoid zinc and the terrible service.

Went to Zinc and had undercooked food that was overpriced, waiting staff average, the lad there who seemed to be in charge was asked what Tzatziki was, he told the customer it was a mayonaise based sauce with cucumber. I think they need a reality check on how to run a restaurant. I would not recommend

Best thing about Zinc was the service, couldn't fault it. Shame I could nor say the same about the food. Brie and cranberry panini with the smallest sliver of Brie they could cut. Ham & cheese panini ok, nothing special.

Who ever owns this place needs to get rid of the very rude staff and the chef. The staff were so rude and what you call a very overpriced menu serving undercooked food which was disgusting. One drink each, two burgers with fries £45 , absolutely appalling I would definitely not recommend this place, Mac Donald’s can do better than here. Shame on yourselves for serving awful food and employing rude staff.

We had a lovely breakfast here this morning. We were lucky to get in as they were understaffed, so not able to fill all tables. The veggie breakfast was delicious and the service was good despite them being clearly under pressure. Thank you for fitting us in. It really made our holiday 😊

Great spot for breakfast. Excellent service and food quality. We sat out the back in the conservatory on a really hot day. It was cool and breezy with a view over the harbour. Good value food.

My husband booked & paid a deposit for my birthday & our anniversary meal (just the 2 of us) - we were on holiday. Unfortunately I got recalled immediately on a potential cancer scare so had to dash for home. We rang and cancelled explaining our situation but unfortunately they did not offer our deposit back, I would have happily produced the hospital letter. I appreciate times are hard for the hospitality industry & indeed the need to take deposits but a little consideration for unique distressing situations should be something that is maybe taken into account. Based on that we won’t visit again & I wouldn’t recommend.
