Lovely interior, can be quite cramped and noisy, food is a little expensive for the quality and service can be a bit hectic. Would go again.

Fantastic Italian food, wonderful service, and fantastic atmosphere. We've eaten here for years, the food is so, so good and there's a new addition of a lovely outside terrace, upstairs, for drinks, that has a view of the river.

Have eaten here many times over the years & have always enjoyed great service & great meals. Today was a little different though. No idea if the staff were overstretched or not but things didn't go as olanned. We were celebrating our mum's birthday. There were 3 of us. One starter was incorrect but the staff rectified this quickly without complaint. Then, as a vegetarian, I ordered a vegetarian main, only to find I had a mouthful of chicken! Luckily I'm not a fanatical vegetarian so I wasn't about to have a meltdown. Again this was rectified immediately & a pudding thrown in (for one) to compensate. Tbf, the staff couldn't be any more apologetic than they were & I ended up feeling guilty!! I won't hold this against them & would still recommend this restaurant as a good place to visit.

So came here last night 13th oct. 9 of us 2 of which 2 young kids. Had starter , calamari this was ok, sauce was nice. Main was lovely which was lasagne really quite tasty it came with chips which were nothing special if im honest, i ordered a side of garlic bread with it which was nice, The host was a nice guy very chatty, the staff seemed a little clumsy if im honest, just as we sat down a tray of drinks went down the back of my sister because the waitress wasn't looking what she was doing although accidents do happen so no biggy, although I will say nothing was offered! No extra drinks, a free starter, nothing!!! This brings me on to the cost. Not much beer choice at all, consisting of draught peroni which was ( are you sitting down) £6.50 a pint! So I ordered a bottle of bishops finger which i thought was a 500ml bottle, it didn't say on the menu the size of the drink which i think it should have, Well the bottle came and it was a 330ml bottle!! 🤔 £4.70 for a 330ml bottle!!! im sorry but thats to much, come on guys. We all had a starter and a main with dessert each, i had the newyork cheesecake, which was ok but tasted abit like something frozen, didn't seem home made to me anyway. The Total bill came to just over £400!!! (£60 of which was a service charge i was told by someone on the table, but the owner has now said that there was no service charge so if this is the case then i apologise), we were a decent size group but you know when you've gone somewhere and feel that the cost is just too much. Nice restaurant but too expensive imo.

Very beautiful restaurant, very pretty inside too. Catered well for gluten-free, many options. The staff treat you like family there , the look of the restaurant is also extremely cosy and romantic. The timings of the food were brilliant too .

Went for my 35th birthday. It was delicious. There was such a wide range of choices! They even took alergens in to consideration which I think is amazing! The food was fresh and the wait wasn't too long. The waitress was upbeat and very polite which is nice to see!

Have eaten at Zia Nina for manyyears but today's birthday lunch was so disappointing. Most of our 4 meals were left uneaten and when asked by the waitress if anything was wrong we did explain we found the food bland, undercooked and tasteless. She referred the comments to the owner/cook who replied that the food was as it should be. Very disappointing reaction and totally unacceptable customer service to a genuine complaint. We did pay the bill and left, never to return under any circumstances and we all agreed it was the worst meals we have ever been served at a restaurant!!!

We arrived on a hot lunchtime with not a lot of time to spare. We were served without problem and really enjoyed our 2 course lunch. I would recommend as there is much choice. A very pleasant atmosphere, windows wide open so not stifling heat at all. Given helpful tips about more convenient parking in the future too. Will definitely visit in the future.

Fantastic meal as always three of us had sirloin and chips with various sauces and one chicken absolutely delicious. Desert also amazing. Would highly recommend. Fantastic evening out for our anniversary. Food was delicious as always, service was fantastic as always. The stairs to the upstairs and the new gin terrace are quite steep but that's literally the only thing I can find to mention that is in any way negative. This place is a firm favourite. Would definitely recommend and will definitely return.

What a great experience. ⭐️ Myself, husband, sister and children visited the restaurant this evening including my 4 year old son that has a Milk and Soya allergy. Going out for food can be really stressful as my son normally has to miss out on something or can’t have the same as his sister/cousins. Tonight was the first time that he was able to have a main and a desert that was suitable for him and off the menu. The staff were so helpful and the food was really good. We will definitely be back. Spent a lovely two hours enjoying a pint and very good chicken and chorizo pasta. The other food on the menu looked very appetising and so it was hard to choose. Service was excellent and the host even more so. Highly recommend.

Came here 24/04/23 (forgot to leave a review at the time only just looking through my photos which has reminded me) was served by a a girl with black hair and i am only just getting into fresh fish and she assured me that the ‘ ‘fish of the day’ which was game wasn’t overpowering and i would most likely like it and she was right, really friendly and helpful, beautiful restaurant and once in the restaurant you really get the feel your in an italian restaurant. great prices and will definitely be returning! :)

Lovely service, nice atmosphere and excellent food. We chose from the great value lunch menu. Our meals were delicious, hot and tasty. The highlight was probably my partner's medium-rare 10oz sirloin which was perfectly cooked and rested, and she loved her mushroom sauce (although there wasn't enough of it).

Nice Italian restaurant in Bridgend Town centre. Reasonable prices and hot, tasty food. We were a large party of 20, who each paid £10pp deposit, which they forgot to take off our bill initially. Sorted in the end, but was a bit of a hassle at the end of the evening, which was avoidable. Apart from that, all was OK.

I really wanted to like this place but I was a little underwhelmed. The staff were amazing and couldn't do enough for us, we were made to feel valued and welcomed, however, I had a basic carbonara, which was bland and kinda tasted like it was out of a jar and I'm 95% certain they used margarine on our garlic bread as opposed to real butter (perhaps I'm being fussy, but for me it's a big no). Also a bit shocked at £7.50 for a 175ml glass of malbec. In saying all that, the rest of it was reasonably priced and perhaps a different meal choice would've been lovely. I'd try again if I fancied a pizza maybe, but that's about it.

Went in as a last minute date with the wife, We felt very accommodated. sat in a nice corner and were offered a menu with some recommendations. I went with the mussels to start which were stunning! nice tomato based reduction with fresh garlic and I believe coriander? it was juicy, flavourful and could taste the fresh grated garlic. the mussels were cooked perfectly. The better half went for a cheesy garlic bread that was creamy, crispy and powerful. For mains I went for the grilled bass, the skin was perfectly crisp, I am not sure what the sauce was but it gave an amazing sweet and slightly spicy kick to the dish which only help to compliment it! The wife went for king prawns which were juicy, flavourful and full of Italian love. We both finished on the Tiramisu, which had a delightful coffee liquer base and THICK cream on top which was a perfect way to finish the meal. I have been coming to Zia Ninas for years and will happy come back for years to come!

Wanted to like this so much, but unfortunately, despite the lovely staff and the new decor, the food was below average and the experience ended up being really disappointing. Style over substance and not authentic Italian. I prefer the other Italians in Bridgend so will go elsewhere from now on. Food: Both our pasta dishes were under seasoned and were poorly executed. I had a carbonara, which was not very good - I can make a more authentic, better tasting one myself. It was quite dry and bland. My partners dish had undercooked asparagus and, tasting it myself, I suspect it still had the fibrous ends in place which made it quite unpleasant to eat - these need to be removed before cooking. Again, I could do better at home. Drink: We tried to order 2 large glasses of malbec (the only size available on the menu is a 175ml glass or a bottle). We were told the only wine we could have in a large measure was the house red, which was not very nice at all. Why not serve us a large measure of the other wines? It makes no sense other than to possibly try and force more purchases... Decor/facilities: Clearly, a good amount of effort has been put into decorating the restaurant and it has turned out very nicely after the refurb. I think the upstairs will be a lovely venue in the summer, overlooking the river. When we were there though, it seemed there was a load of furniture stacked in the corner which made it feel like they were still finishing things off and there was dust in the toilets that looked like it was left over from the building work. My other gripe was the menu has been poorly written! I apparently had a "carbona" and the seafood "trio" I was going to have only comes with 2 seafood items and "a side chip"!
