Zara's in Thanet

This morning I visited Zaras for a delicious coffee and breakfast. Bacon egg mushrooms fried slice beans. Beautifully presented (wish i took a photo!) Liz and Patsy made me very welcome. I will be back again. Very good value with great service. Thank you ladies xx

Most fabulous "full English" breakfast - egg bacon sausages mushrooms tomatoes beans black pudding, bubble & squeak - huge portions, plus mug of tea... £10. We will be back!

The owner is so incredibly friendly and made the meal extra special for us. She’s great with kids and made us feel right at home. The food was absolutely delicious. Everything in the breakfast was top quality and very tasty. A must visit!

Good value food And friendly owners make for a good place to stop.

The homemade tomato soup with croutons was lovely. Me and my daughter will definitely be returning to see what other lovely food there is to tempt us.

I’ve had lots of Sunday lunches at Zara’s the meals are of a very high standard, in fact the best. The staff are wonderful.and can’t do enough for the customers.

After eating here today, and ordering 2 of the 8 items breakfasts at £9 each, initially thinking it was quite expensive, we were very surprised to find the food was absolute top quality, cooked to perfection and by far the best breakfast in Thanet. This is quite a statement as we eat out daily and have tried most restaurants and Cafes in Thanet. Highly recommended and for the price, we feel was good value for money.

Go here for breakfast!! Absolutely the Best in Birchington and probably in Thanet….Patsy is THE grill queen!!!

Very welcoming & friendly, nothing was too much. It was my birthday & I was presented with a balloon, candle in an egg box & chorus of happy birthday. Food was great & they popped out to grab my fiancé some salad dressing. Thank you!!!

Gave it a try having lived in Birchington for 12 years and liked it. The only things we didn't like was the brown sauce and the seats are uncomfortable 😕 Food is great though

If your visiting birchington, This little gem of a café is a must visit! From the moment you step in until you leave, you are warmly welcomed and treated like family. The cafe is run by 3 lovely ladies who put there heart and soul into everything! We take our resident's from our care home regularly and they always accommodate our resident's dietary requirements - nothing is any trouble. Every time we visit the food is absolutely stunning! I'd advise to book in advance as this place fills up fast!

Great little cafe on the highstreet. Not many tables and that makes it feel cosy and comfortable. Our server was excellent, the build your own breakfast was amazing, and the chatter was just right. Felt a little like like having breakfast with friends.

First time we visited was 4 years ago . This delightful café in the very heart of the town . The two ladies that run it cheerfully and smoothly . The taste of their quality ingredients is undeniably first class . Along with the cooking and service with a smile and chat. It seemed like the whole of Birchington passing by , had to wave at the ladies. The tasty sausages are so incredible I asked as to where they are sourced from ? Wales came the reply . Gosh that's along way I replied puzzled . No no its the butchers opposite ,Pork & Herb .So after our build your own breakfast into the Wale & Son butchers for more sausages . (they do salt beef ,the best I have tasted in years too ) Realy looking forward to returning ,thank you ladies .

I’ve been going here now for the Last few months. I always get a warm and happy greeting as soon as I walk though the door. The ladies couldn’t be more lovely and always happy to accommodate with my son who has allergies to milk and soya. They go above and beyond the normal café expectation and makes for a wonderful dining experience. The food is always delicious and hot which seems to be a rarity these days, combine that with the hospitality. I had no choice but give this a five star rating. Absolutely fantastic would highly recommend to anyone.

One of the best English breakfasts I've had in a long while and the staff are really friendly and helpful. One of our party is celiac as well as having other food allergies and they happily catered for her every need.

Absolutely love this cafe and wish I lived in Birchington so as to visit it more often! Lovely food and lovely people - it's really special, feels like a community hub as well as a great place to eat. Back for another Sunday roast asap!

First visit today, having seen Zaras in the top ten breakfasts on the Kent Live page. Was not disappointed! Amazing welcome, super warm and friendly. Great food, fantastic bubble and saute. Lots of regulars which is obviously always a good sign! Cant wait to go again.

After overhearing a couple speaking about a hair they had found in there drink I was already a little sceptical however being human is one thing but serving black toast and then making you feel uncomfortable with the chef poking there head out the kitchen giving eyes frowning “saying what’s wrong” it was clear the toast was black and then slamming around the loaf of bread as if we asked to re cook the hole breakfast was not acceptable all this could be seen from where we ware sitting infront of the till.. I would NOT return and advise anyone with to legs to walk in the opposite direction.

Have just found this gem of a cafe in the middle of Birchington main high Street. After a few visits the quality, quantity and value is perfect. The ambiance is brilliant, all made to be very welcome, a perfect start to the day or for any time you pop in for a bite to eat. Thoroughly recommended. A must if in this area

Absolutely lovely place! First time visiting! Welcoming was met by very friendly people. Food was great and stayed hot! Best breakfast by far! Highly recommended! Definitely will return. Only donwnside was you could trip on step coming in or out through main door as it is not marked clearly, thinking more for people like my sister with disabilities.

Really lovely food ,i had homemade chilli which was great and my wife had salad with ham which she said was the best tasting ham she ever had . Also fantastic friendly ladies that own it and nothing is too much trouble.

Having just arrived in England, this typical British cafe got our full attention: a great breakfast, everything fresh and very, very nice and open communication!!!

My partner and I came here with her autistic ward after trying several places that were too busy and we are so glad that we found this hidden gem! The staff were extremely accommodating and friendly, and engaged happily with our ward in a respectful and interested manner. The food, now, the food was cooked to perfection, you can build your own breakfast plate by picking and choosing ingredients off of the menu. They had a wonderful selection of vegan/vegetarian and gluten free options. We were given some advice on places we can take a walk, and which beaches were best and allowed dogs. Overall: friendly staff, great food, great service and would love to come back. Highly recommend!! Thank you everyone at Zara's!!

Best cooked breakfast 😋 ever. Six of us had Sunday breakfast, on fathers day, it was everything we hoped for and more. Liz and her staff were very friendly. Our first time here and we came as a group of 8, but within a few minutes Liz knew all our names by heart and that just set the tone for the service from then on... Friendly, chatty, welcoming. She even took the trouble to call me a day or two ahead to check how many veggies amongst us, so she could make sure she had a good choice of stuff in. All our options were piping hot and delicious! Great atmosphere, a real community cafe, and we are planning to come back to try the Sunday lunch and some of those amazing hot pudding choices!! Thanks Liz and Patsey, just keep doing what you're doing.

Visited the cafe with my husband and two children. The food was delicious and the staff so friendly. We enjoyed it so much we went back several times during our vacation.

So always wanted to go Zara’s in Birchington but just not got round to it. I’ve Known Liz for a long time but not her partner Patsey I wish them all the best with there business. When I walked in I got such a lovely welcome it was busy full of interesting people. Really brightened my morning everyone chatting snd laughing very open and super friendly. Lush coffee and banging breakie. Would love to try the roast one day. I’ll definitely be back to this lovely run place it really does tick all the boxes.

Thankyou to Zara's cafe, we went there today for a sunday roast. I had the chicken as did my daughter & it was lovely,very hot & plenty of it. My wife had the beef which was equally as good. The meat was cooked lovely as were the roast potatoes/vegetables. My daughter was then very happy again & as she had the chocolate sponge with ice cream for desert & her silence for 5 mins said it all as she finished every last drop of it.. Liz & Patsy who run the place were very welcoming & provided great service. We highly recommend you try this place..

What a delightful experience we had at Zara's on Thursday 24th September 2020. Liz and Patsy are extremely professional, pleasant and polite. Liz cared for us with diligence in the present circumstances. Patsy is an amazing chef. The quality and flavour of the food is excellent and well prepared and presented. We would definitely recommend a visit if you are in Birchington.

First visit here. Very impressed by the service. Friendly, quick, efficient and a tasty wholesome breakfast served at a very reasonable price. Upon request, the order was amended to my preference without any fuss. I will certainly be returning.

To be honest, I read the reviews first before deciding to have my mid-morning breakfast during my one-night stay in Birchington. This little place is a gem! The lady who served me was ever so welcoming - I felt completely at ease! She seems to know all her customers by name and I was delighted to be part of such a warm atmosphere. My breakfast was perfect - I should have had second helpings! I highly recommend Zara's!

Quality cafe with famous good service. We had a large breakfast,toast and jam,pepsi,and coffee. It all came to £9,incredible value for the area. All was top quality,and the service is so efficient and friendly,and fast.

Not the cheapest however, as they say you get what you pay for. Very well cooked meal with decent quality ingredients. The service is also very pleasant and clearly frequented by a loyal band of locals. Would definitely recommend this place!

Despite living here for years I have never been in Zara's before. What a gem. I opted for the full English can honestly say it was wonderful. I have never had such hot food served before, freshly cooked and quality ingredients. The owners were very friendly and couldn't do enough for us. This is a small cafe but a buzzing community hub for our village.

This is the first time i have been here and as soon as i walked i was met with a lovely smile and hello.I only wanted something small so the lady suggested the rock cake which i had..fantastic yummy! The coffee was excellent as well.

Wouldn't bother going anywhere else. Perfect breakfast. Not greasy piping hot can pick and mix what you want. Decent sausages. Very reasonably priced. Great service and comfortable dining area. What more can I say! Also do lunches and set home cooked meal of the day.

I 'm a Vegetarian and had a Nut Cutlet which I enjoyed with Roast Potatoes and Vegetables.

We called into this wonderful friendly café for lunch. We were welcomed by the effervescent and lovely Liz as friends even though it was our first time at the café. Great atmosphere as the place was packed-I really enjoy a lively place.

hottest scummy roast dinners and braised steak with a great friendly atmosphere good for singletons as always someone to talk too, mind those plates!!

Excellent value and service as always

Honestly the title isnt even an exaggeration. The two ladies who were out front were so friendly. The price for the amount of food you get is amazing. A bacon baguette an omelet with chips, with a side of toast and a black pudding, a milkshake and tea only came up to about £13. Will defo be visiting again in the future.

Top notch full English. Good value for money. Definitely worth a visit and I'll definitely be going back. The only thing I will say is that they could probably do with a better extractor fan or something because I did come out smelling of grease. But if a good old fashioned fry up is what you're after then look no further
