Zaman's Restaurant in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

This is a great Indian restaurant, food was delicious. I had chicken tikka masala lots of chicken in it, daughters had butter chicken which was packed full of chicken too. This place gives you good value for your money. The Nan breads was lovely too, keema nan especially. The staff couldn’t do enough for you on what was a very busy Saturday night. The bonus was you can take your own alcohol to consume there, which in other restaurant puts a lot of money on your bill, really can’t wait to go back again when next in Newquay, book that table you won’t be disappointed.

Here for the first time on a Monday evening in March. Went from one to seven tables in just an hour. Very good food and terrific service. Portions are large, rice can feed two as can the naans. As it got busier, people were having to wait for quite a while for their mains to come out. If you're in a hurry, then this may not be the place for you. At least four takeaway orders fulfilled in the 90 minutes we were there. Highly recommended. Parking on site available.

Early enough to be seated without booking. Got very busy early doors. Excellent food. Good, friendly service and a nice family atmosphere. It's a bring your own bottle place. Very pleasantly surprised and would definitely recommend.

We came here this evening for Mother's Day and my partners birthday. We've never been before but been recommended by so many friends. I highly recommend. Staff were so lovely and accommodating. Especially jay! Looked after us from start to finish. Food was unbelievable. Best Indian food we've had. Thank you so much. Can't wait to come back :)

It was my wife's birthday meal the food was excellent the service was outstanding the atmosphere was excellent I cannot praise this establishment enough so warm and friendly will definitely be back what kind warm-hearted people the owners are god bless you a lovely birthday card for my wife and a take home box again we'll definitely be back thank you guys

My wife's birthday is why we went. We had a super meal and the staff were outstanding. The whole experience was just wonderful. Thank you Zaman's you made our night, would highly recommend an evening here. You can take your own wine or beer. Super value.

Excellent food and BYO alcohol. Had a butter chicken and special chicken sharnik, both tasty and a good contrast. Fairly expensive but for the quality of food and it's a BYO restaurant I think it's fair pricing. Friendly and fast service despite being busy. Book in advance for Saturday night!

Had large takeaway order. Restaurant was busy, but they handled the walk in well, told me how long it would be and were packing it when we returned. Food was great quality with onion bhaji being up there as the best I have ever had. Nice guys that run it as well.

We wasnt rushed and you can take your own alcoholic beverages. Highly recommend and we will be back! 10/10 thank you zaman!

Absolutely fantastic, food, service the whole eating & dining experience. Delicious choices & really helpful advice on combinations from the team. Take your own beers / wine or buy there … Everything we had was hot, fresh, tasty & beautifully presented. Extra plates etc were provided & nothing was too much trouble. Even though it was v busy all the staff had time to chat. There were many more dishes we would like to try, we definitely hope to dine again. Thank you for a brilliant evening & delicious food.

Always great food but it is the welcome and the service that sets this place apart. You are greeted like old friends and nothing is ever too much trouble.

Good points: decor, cleanliness and parking out front ( we were early on Sunday evening so unsure how parking would be later in the evening on other days). Great points!! The food and the attentive service. Every bite was incredibly tasty and cooked to perfection including poppadoms and dips, peshwari nan, lamb dhansak, pilao rice and potatoes in spinach. It’s not budget food but in our opinion it’s worth every penny and you save money on drinks as you can take your own. Highly recommend! We will be back next time we stay in Newquay. If you looking for authentic and delicious Indian dishes in Newquay, I would definitely recommend Zamans Restaurant. Really well prepared and presented food, they take pride in serving the food, which is brought to the table on a trolley. This was really amazing. Food is nicely spiced too.

Been there about 5 times... The food is amazing and delicious, plenty of choice, the staff are so friendly and attentive, bring your own alcohol and they bring you classes,.bottle opener etc... highly recommended, we don't go anywhere else in Cornwall for a curry!

The service was absolutely superb right from the time we entered till the time we left. The Naan was one of the best I have had in a long time along with the flavourful starters and mains we ordered. Followed by a kulfi tfor dessert, what a pleasant experience. Thank you, Zaman's!

Went in with 28 adults and 5 children to celebrate my child's 18th Birthday. Was amazing from start to finish The team were brilliant and couldn't do enough for us. This is one of the best restaurants in Cornwall. They had won a national award a little while before I visited last and were also featured in an article in Curry Times so we tried some of the dishes mentioned in the article on them....

1st time in here this week. Always walked past as it's always booked up & busy. Managed to book a table this time on a Sunday evenin, too. A proper sized chutney tray 😀. Starters king prawn puri's was a tasty starter. Fish curry off the bone . Top choice, my wife had the lamb dish, said it was lovely & soft. This is really tasty food & friendly staff. Would highly recommend. Not licensed, so be aware. However, you can take your own.

Ordered many meals from Zamans since they opened, all top quality and to a very high standard which has been fantastic however, recently, all three orders have been dire. Seriously different from previous meals which left my mrs and I totally disappointed. You cannot fault...

A lot of the food we tried in Newquay we found bland and boring. We were recommended to try Zamans. I went with my family and we all enjoyed the food a lot! My grandma is vegetarian and was happy that there was a variety of veg dishes. The food tasted home made and authentic and very flavourful. The service was brilliant, the waiters were very polite and made us feel at ease with great menu recommendations. This is my new favourite restaurant in Newquay. I highly recommend to everyone & we will be returning on our next trip down. Thank you Zamans for the amazing food!

Really run down, with rude family running the place. Went with my family but really had a horrible experience. Food was pre cooked and microwaved to serve. Avoid!!!

Stayed at the Holywell bay Parkdean holiday park and enquired about a delivery. Signal is non existent on the park so wasn’t too optimistic. Messaged them through Facebook and they responded quickly and advised me they could contact me through what’s app when they arrive....

Great service, food wasn't upto the mark of an authentic Indian cuisine though. There was a mishmash of spices put into the curry that didn't go together. Well, it's probably not the best day for the chef, will update it if I happen to visit Newquay again.

Called for a takeaway whilst holidaying at West Pentire and I have to say the food was amazing! The meat in the curries was so tender and the flavours spot on. Naan breads light and fluffy it was the best meal we had all week!...

The food was great, the service was even better. The staff did everything they could to accommodate two fussy children and two hungry adults. They made helpful suggestions and even suggested ordering less where we over ordered. The food was good, hot and wholesome all we needed after a long travelling across Cornwall. It was super busy later in the evening but still the staff did all they could to accommodate and help us.

Worst Indian restaurant we have ever tried. Taste was not even close to the below average Indian restaurants. Service was not satisfactory at all. Had to wait too long for such low grade foods with some readymade sauce. Price was way too high for their quality. With our drinks we requested for tap water, but the way they refused to serve tap water was very rude. Totally wasted our money. Not recommended at all.

They are very slow to prepare food and we had waited for almost 1 hour to eat.They don’t provide tap water although we asked for that and food quantity is really less compare to the price.I think they are more conscious about the money and business but not about the taste and service.

DO NOT RECOMMEND! We had to wait 10 minutes outside and there wasn’t even a queue. We ordered : Biryani Chicken handi Chips Roti 330 ml cola bottles Portion size is really small for all dishes. The food had hair on it. In all dishes the only thing i can taste is haldi. At the end it all cost - £150 DO NOT RECOMMEND!

Turned up without a booking and the staff were amazing to accommodate us, even though they were fully booked they managed to squeeze us in. But would book for next time. The food was amazing and very reasonably priced. They do not serve alcohol but you can bring your own, which was great. Highly recommend it.

This was a great restaurant with a great service as we were looking for 100% halal guaranteed food with no alcohol in the restaurant. Food was alright and came very quickly and as there aren’t a lot of restaurants on level with this one it makes sense for their prices. It’s cleanliness was great clean plates glasses and tables. Very busy evening with 2 staff down so quite a wait which the staff were very apologetic about. Lovely onion barji, fairly ordinary chicken dhansak with no pineapple, the others enjoyed there tandoori mix starters and baltis.

It is definitely the best place to eat in Newquay. We've come down for a holiday and we always struggle to find somewhere our fussy children will eat but they absolutely loved this place. The food was outstanding! Every dish tasted unique and all equally delicious. The service was fast, friendly, helpful and very welcoming. The restaurant is also beautiful which makes the experience extra special. We will hopefully be visiting against soon as our children have not stopped talking about it. Thank you very much!

What a amazing fined,the food is brilliant ! Coming from the Midlands we have a choice of good indian restaurants. I can honestly say it's the best one of two curry's we've had for a while . The staff are great and very welcoming, well done guys.

Our party of 7 (two families) was served a great dinner despite coming late! Everyone - including kids - found something delicious in the menu. Staff was very friendly - assisting us in food choices and enterntaining children with card tricks. Zaman’s is very nice family restaurant worth visiting. Please note that this place does not serve alcohol. You need to bring your own bottle.

Visited this place with family, ordered a few items including lamb curry and butter chicken. Honestly speaking, I have never tasted worse food in my life. There was no taste at all. I don't recommend this place at all. Please avoid.

We were a group of 4 indians, craving for an indian meal as a comfort food after having a dip in the sea nearby, unfortunately the food was not up to the mark, we were dissapointed and felt that we should have had fish and chips instead at a local restaurant also we felt the staff were not welcoming and gave preferential treatment to locals/whites.
