Zamani's in North West Leicestershire

Fabulous food & fabulous service as always. Went today for lunch and had a mixture of starters & Cypriot meze. Everything was delicious but the moussaka is to DIE for. A firm favourite of ours. Zamanis never fails to impress and deserves all the credit as Ashby’s best restaurant!

This is by far my favourite restaurant in Ashby de la zouch. The food is always delicious, the service is fabulous, ambiance is spot on! The location is great with a carpark out back & street parking out front. You've gotta try the PilPil starter .... its legendary!! 😋

I went with my husband last week and the Greek plates of food we chose were so delicious that we returned yesterday with our daughter and 3 year old grandson. Once again, the food was amazing but the staff are outstanding. They made our dining experience wonderful and I can't wait to return in the near future.

I am a regular with my family. I drive up from Liverpool to see my family in Ashby. It is one of my favourite restaurants. The food is excellent and the service is warm and friendly. Brilliant

Very nice food and a lovely quite place. Perfect for our date night. By far the best pizza in town. Been again tonight and if you havent tried the venison curry you need too... absolutely beautiful. Thos place is by far the best in town!

We had a wonderful meal on valentine’s night. The food was excellent and so was the service. It’s so nice to enjoy a meal and not feel rushed. We had time between courses to enjoy our wine and relax! The staff are so friendly and welcoming. The menu has great choices for all tastes, my fiancé particularly enjoyed the Cypriot menu with the small plate dishes, I think he would have had them all if he could have ate them! Great meal last night in Zamani’s in Ashby with friends. Tandoori pigeon is something else! Top marks to the chef. Steak was perfectly cooked and very tender. The Barolo - amazing and great value. What a gem of a place. Highly recommend.

Went for late Sunday lunch. Table not quite ready so had a pre-meal glass of wine in wine bar adjoining. 1 beef (served pink) and 1 lamb (would have prefered pink). Very nice though, with veg sides all cooked well. For deserts my wife had tiramisu, I unusually went for a sticky toffee pudding, to which all other sticky toffee puddings should aspire - superb. Good value, good quality, friendly service.

Absolutely brilliant, good quality of service and good food , and very reasonable prices. Kate zamani was fabulous and couldn't do enough for us.

Lovely food but table booked for 3pm finally got main course at 4.15pm. Wanted a dessert but at 5pm when order still not taken paid the bill and left

Such a cute little place, food is always fantastic, fast friendly staff, hard to get a reservation so book about a week or more early! Finally a place using seasonal ingredients and a menu that changes up - unlike some others around here! Really fantastic place!

Incredible food! We came here for a birthday and the food was incredible, we had the halloumi dippers to start which were delicious. Followed by the beef moussaka and ham hock special. Both were flavoursome and the mustard mash and parsley sauce with the ham hock was outstanding! We were too full for dessert but we saw a few coming out on the table next to us so next time we will have to try this!

First visit to this local restaurant and it was lovely. Staff all very welcoming, professional and helpful. Food was of an excellent standard and quality, we couldn't fault any of it. My husband and neice said that you didn't really need a knife for the beef as it was so tender. As she can be picky then that was indeed high praise from her. Presentation was lovely and the portion sizes were more than ample. Will definitely be returning. Well done to all at Zamani's.

We read the reviews and booked here for Friday night as we were staying in Ashby for the weekend. Nice place, friendly staff and amazing food. We shared the belly pork and calamari starters and ordered the surf and turf and ocean pizzas, which we really enjoyed but sadly, no room for desert. Would we come here again, definitely- shame we live so far away.

Very nice staff, well cooked and tasty food. Reasonably priced. Slightly dull dining area but, in the grand scheme of things, that's fairly inconsequential.

Nice atmosphere, good service. Food was pretty mediocre unfortunately - tasted like bought in pizza bases and plastic cheese. Would have hoped for better quality then your average takeaway pizza. Probably won’t come back as a result.

Four adults food was good especially steak. My meal chicken Diane was not very warm apart from that nice food.

15 of us eat here last Saturday and it was awesome ! We all had different starters and mains and all came out hot and delicious! Personally I had the creamy mushrooms then the steak and it was the simple delicious. And my mate had a pizza 🍕 and said you can not get any better !! The staff catered for all our needs and more! I have lived now in ashby for 15 years and been here many times and still is top draw

Been to the restaurant and used the takeaway and found the food fantastic at both. Reasonably priced too for how nice it is. Definitely recommend.

Never a bad meal - best in Ashby for as restaurants go

I've praised Zamanis previously but last night the food was exceptional. Friends from Newcastle were absolutely blown away by the standard of food served. Great night, many thanks to all at Zamanis!

Mixed feelings about our lunch here. Food took a long time to come, but was delicious. We sat in the courtyard and someone was chain smoking on another table the whole time we were there and the smoke was constantly blowing over us. This was despite a sign asking people not to smoke. I wouldn't want to sit outside again for that reason. Food was delicious, staff were friendly, but the constant smell of smoke ruined it.

This venue is a family favourite but when our Uni student son returns from 4 years away in 2 different Uni’s and first meal out had to be Zamani’s then they must be doing something right ! Also joined by a friend and first time visitor who wants a return invite. Well done Team Z, food and ambience amazing and you just get it right every time. Thank you.

Met here for an early evening meal with colleagues. A good selection of dishes to choose from, really good service and a nice atmosphere... actually surprised how busy it was mid week. All enjoyed the meal. This was my first visit but no doubt I will be back.

The food is very very good, the service is absolutely excellent and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. With all this being as good as it is, you would expect to pay 5 star prices, but at Zamani's this is not the case. It's not cheap but it most certainly is value for money. What's not to like!

First time ordering from them,tried most of the other pizza places around Ashby-del-la-Zouch,but this place has got some really nice pizzas very tasty and definitely worth it,nr 1 so far on my list.

If you want GOOD food this is the place to go,great atmosphere outside aswell with live acoustic music,staff magnificent always with a smile,will definitely return.

Fabulous meal & great service a little disappointing the cocktail bar wasn’t open

Been a number of times always good food. Last night however everything we had was VERY heavy on the oil. Greek lamb stew, moussaka (and the salad garnish), Greek salad, chicken pasta with pesto all swimming in oil. Very disappointed. Won't be rushing back. Note the Greek salad was completely different to the same dish on the Cypriot menu which is light and delicious (but not available last night) .

Always have a great meal when we go, the last time we went we did have takeaway and the poor lad didn't look prepared for our order but the food was still delicious.

Exceptional restaurant. Beautifully prepared food and just as importantly, very friendly and helpful staff. My wife and I spent a lovely couple of hours here last night and were made to feel very welcome. Very nice cosy, warm atmosphere as well. Looking forward to returning soon.

The current climate on cash is tough and then we see a 2 for 1 offer on pizzas on a local restaurant for Pizzas in the Courtyard. We jumped at this to give my kids a break and a boost, well flipping heck the pizza was exactly as we had paid full price for zero cost cutting from the restaurant in support of this deal. My kids as you will see in the photos are super happy and as this offer is on over the summer we will be back

Recently dined for Sunday Lunch. Good quality was amazing. Partner had the Beef Sunday Dinner, beautifully presented with vegetables served on the side along with pot of extra gravy that was real tasty. I ate a pizza off the main menu, which was also fantastic. Would height recommend. Thank You

We walked into the restaurant to a buzzing atmosphere, smiling staff, and smiling customers. Excellent service throughout even though very busy. I had calamari starter which tasted divine, then Spaghetti Bolognaise which was delicious. My sister and friend and i had such a great evening , thank you all for hardwork.

Since the lifting of lockdown restrictions I have visited Zamani’s twice. Once with a group of friends as a birthday treat, and once with my partner & baby. We visited in October as a group of 4 for a birthday meal. I had popped in earlier in the day to ask if they would put up some balloons & table decorations I had brought - the staff were really helpful & accommodating. We all had various meals & cocktails. We sat in the outside dining area at our request. The canopy is lit with spotlights and the area is lovely and warm thanks to numerous outdoor heaters. The whole ambiance of the area is so welcoming and has a real buzz to the atmosphere. All the tables have fresh flowers & candles, a really nice touch. Having not been abroad due to the pandemic, it defiantly felt like we were at a restaurant somewhere sunny and warm. The staff appeared to know their products well, advising on cocktails to all our individual tastes, ensuring that the drinks were flowing. The food is obviously cooked fresh to order, and was delicious. We all had different meals, and everyone commented on how much they enjoyed them. Nothing was ever too much trouble for the staff, and the owner made an effort to welcome us, chat with us and ensure we felt well looked after. It was a fantastic evening and was thoroughly enjoyed by us all.My second visit was with my partner and our 15 month old baby. It’s always difficult to know where to go for a nice meal when you have a young baby, as not everywhere will cater for fussy, messy eaters. We were greeted by welcoming staff and seated at our table, with a high chair already in place - a great start when you have a wriggly & heavy baby in your arms. Our son has several food intolerances, and I was pleasantly surprised at just how extensive the gluten free menu is. The staff were extremely knowledgeable about all the ingredients in the meals, and were able to suggest foods suitable for the baby. I ordered for my self and my partner, and asked for a small portion of spaghetti bolognase for my baby. I asked if the spaghetti bolognase could be brought out as soon as possible, as trying to keep a hungry baby entertained is not easy. I have never seen my baby eat so much! He absolutely devoured his meal. He then proceeded to help with some of our meal. The staff made a real fuss of him, which is always lovely to see as a mum. They could not have been more accommodating of him - the mess he made & the noise he created. The only issue I had was that my meal was so delicious, I ate every last piece and didn’t have room for pudding. Thankfully I was able to get our desserts as a take out option so that was a bonus. I honestly can not recommend this restaurant enough. It literally caters for all group types & all tastes.

I’d been looking forward to coming here. I was really let down. I’ve read through the less than positive reviews on here and the often hostile responses from the setting really sum it up. This is a place that is not as good as it thinks it is. It’s sad because there are few family restaurants these days and Zamani’s should be a lot better. The raw ingredients are there - little competition, great location and a twin that is fairly affluent and easy to get to. We asked for some breads to nibble on. This was a problem initially and we were given some french stick and butter. The table opposite us were offered a selection of breads and oils - they asked for bread too. Different waiting staff but odd to say the least. I asked about the draught lager as it was an unfamiliar brand. The waitress shouted to her friend at the bar which again was a little odd. The ambience of the place is sterile and flat. The food is over priced and bland. I’m not a food critic by any means but I know that the lasagne I was served was rather tasteless, meagre and uninspiring. I wisely ordered chips and I’ve had better with a sandwich in a supermarket cafe. The salad was fine. I’d hoped that an Italian restaurant would have a ‘wow’ lasagne but no. My wife’s penne pasta was bland and the three small pieces of chicken nothing to shout home about. Desserts were ok but again, nothing remarkable. The staff are busy and seem efficient at dealing with complaints. The table next to us had a dirty wine glass and that was sorted quickly.It’s a bit overpriced, a lot over hyped and a shame. I might give it another go one day but there are better places in Ashby. It feels like a mid price cafe trying to be something better than it actually is.

Having recently moved into the area, we were making only our second visit into Ashby town centre.We were looking around for somewhere to lunch and after 15 mins walking around a few individual shops, we stumbled upon the back of Zamani's Restaurant.We just asked for a menu to view first, which looked good enough, so decided to ask for a table. We were invited to a nice table for two, by a very pleasant young lady.After a few minutes we were approached to be asked if we wanted to order drinks and we replied that we were and also were ready to order our food.My wife had their Seafood Vasel-lame and I ordered Tiger prawn pesto.The food was excellent and the owner took time to speak with us, and was also busily manning the door, as someone on another table was concerned about a draught from the door, which was being used to convey food to the outside seating area.He was quite charming and one could tell that the staff enjoyed working there and knew there jobs well.My wife had the tiramisu dessert and I opted for an espresso. I would not normally eat a dessert and tiramisu is certainly not what I enjoy generally. How wrong I was! I tried a spoonful of my wife's dessert and it was fantastic.We were told that it is made to the chef's own recipe. The coffee was great, too.Overall a very fine lunch and we are pleased to have found a decent restaurant at the first attempt.This is definitely a place to return to, time after time. After driving for 4 hours we parked up in Ashby and walked up & down the high street looking for somewhere nice to eat , we found this lovely place hidden down an allley. We both had a pizza each , the best crispy bases.. tasted delicious.. we then met and sat with the owner and had drinks, he even had us try some of the prawn starters .. such a lovely friendly place .. cocktails looked amazing.. just wished we lived nearer !!
