Had another super night here. Team are super friendly and kind. Lots of drinks to choose from and a very extensive thai menu full of delicious treats. Hot spicy soups, phad thai, very spicy chicken dishes and lots of tasty rice all washed down with Singha beers! A great treat to come here the food is delicious and I strongly recommend a visit.

The nicest Thai I have ever been to. The service was 5* and the food was 5*. Everything was perfect. It was 2 days ago since i went and i still cant stop thinking about the food. Looking forward to returning! Thank you

This place is super consistent in my opinion, never had a bad plate here. Very authentic approach and very enjoyable every time. Chef knows how to hit the food up spice wise perfectly. Staff and service always kind and courteous and well worth a visit if you love Thai food.

This is our favourite Thai restaurant and worth the travel from Wensleydale Always fresh and vibrant. The papaya salad is outstanding and with lots of chilli it has wonderful flavours and is a real tongue tingler Great fish cakes and chicken satay The Sunday lunch buffet is excellent in terms of quality and choice The massaman curry is a firm favourite However there is an extensive menu with something for everyone from curries to stir fry - mild to seriously spicy Spacious seating areas and comfy chairs Excellent service. Good choice of wines and beets etc Parking in the adjacent square The restaurant is family owned and the welcome is warm and genuine. Highly recommend this lovely Thai restaurant

First visit last night and it won’t be our last. Food was excellent, lovely place with very attentive and pleasant staff. We don’t have much experience of Thai cuisine to be honest but I think that that is about to change!

This Stokesley restaurant is a firm favourite for many years. The staff are always friendly and helpful and the restaurant is comfortable and welcoming. The Thai food is obviously Thai, nicely served and always tasty.

Just driven 200 miles so thought we would get a take away and found this one 4 miles away. It was Sunday evening and parking was right outside. It was very busy and I am more used to ordering Chinese food, I explained this and picked a chicken with sweet and sour sauce and a crispy chicken with oyster sauce, egg fried rice and crispy duck pancakes with sauce. It took about 10 mins which was good. We drove the 4 miles to our accomadation and dished it up but it was cold so had to microwave. They had given me plain rice instead of egg fried rice, There were only 3 tiny, and i do mean tiny, duck pancakes but they just seemed like the veg ones you buy in supermarkets, The crispy chicken was not crispy in any shape or form, it was the same as the other chicken dish. The vegetables were very nice in both dishes but the sauces were very watery, maybe Thai food is like that. There was no discount for take away so it was quite an expensive meal, Other people were having the buffet which I'm sure is better value but we had our dog with us so that wasn't an option for us. I wouldn't go there again

Nice restaurant .. lots of choice on menu .. for Thai cuisine. Service a little slow but it was busy so will allow .. ambient temperature a little to warm for eating and quite noisy at times Will definitely re visit

Visited on a Friday night & had booked in advance but on arrival they didn’t seem to have our booking but luckily managed to still seat us. Drinks order was taken quickly but unfortunately the service was downhill from there. It took 25 mins for our food order to be taken & a long wait between starter and main with our empty plates sat on the table for ages. The food was nice & fresh but the experience was just let down by the service unfortunately!

Happy and plentiful night here and as my favourite food is Asian this hit the spot. Decent portions, amazing flavours and great staff! Well done

Went for a birthday meal and this was amazing, best choice, We had visited afew times but this time went with partne and a friend, The lady serving us im so sorry i dont know her name recognised us and was happy to se us , she was helpful with the dishes. The presentation and quality were amazing, everything fresh and cooked to order. All the staff are pleasant and helpful , you go in as a customer and leave as a friend. Highly recommended

Very tasty traditional thai food. Cosy atmosphere and very polite staff. It was quite busy and towards the end of service, but that didn't stop them from seating and calmly serving me. I had the steamed Dim Sum and Chicken Panang very flavoursome and the other choices were endless. Good drink list aswell. Well worth a visit.

First visit since COVID began. A warm welcome as always, shown to table and left with menus. Drinks order taken and more time to peruse the menu - something for everyone from the flavoursome to the super spicy. Our food was served piping hot and both the starter and main course were excellent , my wife had requested that a 2 Chilli dish be toned down and it was just to her liking. It was a Saturday night and the atmosphere was great, the restaurant was busy and fully booked, however service was first class, plenty of staff on duty and everything was perfectly paced.

We haven't been to the sunday buffet for a couple of years now due to covid and general busyness. In 2019 the buffet was £13 so it has increased in price a bit to £16.95 per person. Whilst this is not a huge amount the buffet menu has also been cut quite a bit and no longer includes ice-cream for dessert with a tea/coffee each, so probably actually closer to a 50% increase in 3 years! That being said the hot buffet meals are soooo tasty! With a choice of 7 curries to try, plus rice, noodles and chips. I have allergies to nuts and seafood and can still always find something to love here. On this visit I had to avoid 1 prawn dish and 1 dish with oyster sauce, the beef was a bit too spicy for me! but I absolutely loved the pork red thai curry and the chicken green thai curry - yum! There is a very large menu for choice of starters (part of sunday buffet) and also a huge a la carte menu. I would think absolutely everyone could find something they loved here; from mild to spicy! The staff are all very friendly and helpful. We had wonderful service on the day and then afterwards staff went above and beyond when father in law forgot his cap in the restaurant and they were happy to post out to him, which made him very happy. So in summary super tasty food and very helpful, friendly service. A bit more of a treat meal now as price has gone up quite a bit, but we still very highly recommend.

We were really looking forward to a family buffet meal. We have been there may times over the last 20 years. The starter and buffet were good as usual, but the evening was spoiled for these reasons: There was a rowdy group who were disruptive which we were not expecting early in the evening. Booked a table for 8 of us for my husbands birthday. We were all having the Sunday buffet. We were all given a warm welcome on entering. There was a great choice of starters which everyone enjoyed very much. Their presentation is lovely! The choice on the buffet is excellent with something for everyone! Dishes catered for everyone's taste! Each dish is replenished regularly so you get chance to try everything! Food quality is excellent! The staff here are very polite and helpful. Lovely meal with my partner on New Years Eve, we had not booked and called in on the chance of a meal on our way back from Durham. We all know that pubs all over the UK are doing the Thai / pub combined thing.None fail as badly or charge as much as this place.You have the atmosphere of a really bad pub.The service of a 1970s I dont give a **** about my customers English restaurant.OK Thai food.More expensive than London prices and poor portions.I didnt exactly complain (no table check for any course) but I did say that I was disappointed for the reasons above.THEY DID NOT CARE AT ALL. If you do not care do not make the pretence of asking.They get 2 stars because the food was OK.Minus a million stars because the overall experience was expensive and horrid.I will never return.

We visited YThai on Thursday 24th October (the day the half term holiday started for this teacher & our wedding anniversary). We ordered the seafood set meal for two and it was delicious! Wonderful starters including crab spring rolls, fish cakes and chicken satay. This was followed by a fantastic hot and sour soup - absolutely the best I’ve ever tasted with an extensive array of seafood! Then came the man courses; a whole sea bass cooked with pineapple and ginger which is fantastic, wonderful prawns with cashew nuts, a popular and very delicious chicken masaman, noodles and rice! There was a lot of food but my husband and I are big eaters and we managed it all, feeling very satisfied at the end (too full for dessert unfortunately). We had two very nice bottles of white wine. This was really top quality Thai food, authentic, full of flavour, spicy and delicious. It was excellent value for money. It’s also important to mention the lovely staff who are friendly, helpful, attentive and incredibly smiley, it’s just wonderful to be served by such genuinely lovely people. YThai is local to us and I’ve meaning to write a review for sometime (I tend to do it when we travel somewhere for food). This restaurant is an absolute gem & we feel very lucky that we can visit regularly (though not as often as we’d like), thoroughly recommended!

Always a favourite! Although we don't eat out very often, we love to come here when we do - especially on a sunday as the buffet is such excellent value! With a choice of 6 curries to try, plus includes starter and dessert too! all for £13.

This restaurant has been part of the Stokesley scene for over 20 years, testament to its success. We have eaten twice here in the past 6 weeks. Both food and service were very good indeed and we are happy to recommend- Enjoy.

Had been recommended for us by a friend. Was honestly amazing! The service was brilliant. Both my boyfriend and I enjoyed it a lot and the atmosphere was vibrant and lively. Run by some very lovely people! First time trying this type of food and it did not disappoint!

This place caters to people that can take different level of spiciness. I would say the som tam is very authentic, I am surprise it is from a small town in england. As a singaporean, I had travelled to thailand for so many times and I can say the som tam is pretty closed to what you can get in thailand.

The restaurant was busy despite it being a weekday evening, but the service was friendly and prompt. The food was delicious and plentiful - I couldn't eat it all and was kindly provided with a takeaway box to take the rest home with me.

We have visited the Y Thai on a number of occasions and the food has always been amazing. Sunday buffet is great you have a wide selection of dishes and this also comes with a choice of starter from the menu. Beat the clock (lunch menu) is great, portions are good and tasty as always great value for money. The staff are always extremely friendly and accommodating.

Just had a superb tasting takeaway meal from this Jewel in Stokesley's crown.

Enjoyed a 3 course set menu, early evening. We went despite a negative opinion of a friend who had ate here recently. My partner and I both really enjoyed our meals, which was more than we could consume even with the help of our little boy. All the food provided was tasty and authentic. At under £22 each we thought this was great value. A bonus is that it’s open all day on a Friday which allowed us to eat early evening and not disrupt our little boys routine. We will probably go back.

Visited here today, Friday, at lunchtime. We were greeted by a very friendly woman who showed us to a table. The menu is very extensive and at lunchtime all main courses are only £7.95. I got the roast duck with chilli, basil & vegetables. It came pretty quickly and was really, really tasty! Can’t fault the place.

My friend & I visited this place tonight for a change as it's been years since I've been. I'm not planning return after tonight & neither is my friend.

We arrived without a booking but were greeted in a very friendly way and seated quickly. Drinks were ordered within five minutes of seating while we browsed the extensive menu. Lunch is charged at £7.95 for items off the a la carte menu . Dishes are normally charged at £12.95 or £13.95, but the lunch servings do not reflect the price difference. The chicken in ginger and pineapple, and the sweet and sour chicken were both delicious and satisfying. We were offered desserts and tea or coffee but declined. It was a lovely sized and tasty lunch. Definitely going back on another Friday or Saturday lunchtime.

6 of us had a very good Thai Sunday Lunch a few days ago....The restaurant is nicely presented and the welcome and service outstanding....The food is top class....starters and deserts served from the menu and the mains from a high quality buffet featuring a wide range of Thai favourites....so if you are craving an alternative to Roast Beef and Yorkies…..look no further !!!

We have been here a LOT! We have taken advantage of the takeaway service, the Sunday buffet, and Evening meals, so we have tried a mixed bag! Never ever been disappointed, food is always absolutely delicious and very consistent over different visits. The spring rolls are my favourite, I have never found any anywhere else which beat Y'thai!

We regularly visit YThai both for special occasions such as birthdays but also on a monthly basis during the week. I can't say enough about the friendly staff and lovely food. The buffet on a sunday is good value and allows you to sample a range of dishes.It is well worth a visit if you like Thai food.

My wife and me visited Y'Thai on Saturday evening and it rounded off a really good day out. The food was excellent, I can recommend the Panang beef. Great place, great atmosphere and can't wait to go back

Great authentic Thai food in Stokesley

Visited for the Sunday buffet. Very good value - £14.95 pp covers a starter (from a choice of about a dozen), main course buffet, and ice-cream and coffee. The main course buffet consisted of 6 different Thai curries, including chicken beef, prawn and pork, some spicy and some milder, plus boiled rice, yellow noodles and chips. All were delicious and topped up regularly so hot and fresh. Service of starters, desserts, coffee and drinks was excellent - fast, efficient and friendly. Excellent evening meal, will definitely return.

What a beautiful evening me and my partner had here! The food was delicious and full of flavour. Excellent service too!

We had a takeaway for two in June and it was very tasty, it was ready when we requested it, got it home and it was piping hot, good selection and choice, good mix of different Thai food and plenty for two, will get another one no problems and a change from a Chinese or pizza on Saturday night, lovely polite staff....sit in meals are superb and will do that again soon.

Went for an evening meal, the staff are very welcoming, there is a great selection and service was prompt. The portions are generous and the food very tasty with great use of spices. We were there early evening so took advantage of the early discount.

Tried to go to the usual Thai place nearby but it was closed, so looked for others in the area. We noticed Y’Thai so came here instead, really glad we did as it blew it out of the water. The server was really friendly and attentive, and we were seated quickly. We ordered Thai crackers to start and Chicken Mussaman & Duck Pannang for main. Both portions were huge, and the food was delicious. We would love to come back here again soon.

We happened upon Y'Thai on a Saturday night. It was busy, but they kindly took us in as "walk in's". We waited in a warm, comfy bar area and when our order was taken we were told we could stay there to eat. The food came out quickly, was hot and really nice flavours. The staff were lovely and friendly. Can't really fault it.

We decided to try ythai as when we walk past is does look nice the waitress s where nice but we found the food average padded out with potatoes and carrots. Not a lot of meat and they got the order wrong. Unfortunately we won’t be going back.

We decided to pop in on a Sunday afternoon after seeing they do a buffet lunch. For £15 a head we got to choose a starter from a list of about 12, ice cream and coffee was included as well as a buffet consisting of noodles rice or chips and about 8 different main dishes. Drinks were read-only priced at about £3.60 a pint of lager. Servers were very friendly and helpful. We were seated without booking immediately . The food was amazing and presented really well. Good variety as long as you are a meat eater, I'm not sure if they have a veggie option as we are both meat eaters. The veggies in the dishes were still crisp and fresh tasting. Can't wait to go back again

There for the last 20 years near enough, in a competitive place for restaurants. Testament to how good it is. My folks are there every week near enough and there's no debate when I get to bring my family home where we are going to eat. Quick call to Robert and we're set.

I visited Y'Thai with my husband last week and enjoyed it so much that we returned today with the kids.On both occasions we took advantage of the early bird special which is £4 for a starter and £8.95 for a main meal. Between the four of us we had chicken satay, two portions of king prawns and spare ribs. The portions were big for a full price starter so as a special I thought the servings were very generous. For main course I had the duck in oyster sauce and my husband had the Thai green curry- both again were good sized portions (if anything a bit too big for me) and both were very tasty. The kids decided to order from the kids meal and had sweet & sour chicken and chicken in oyster sauce, both served with plain rice - both kids really enjoyed their meal .... and neither could finish it (that's a rarity with my kids!)All in all a fab meal at a great price - we will definitely be back.

My brother and sister-in-law were up to stay with us over the weekend and we went to Y'Thai. The service was good and the food was superb. The mussels are really to die for. I have used Y'Thai over the last five years and it is currently as good as it has always been. I highly recommend it.
