Yorkshire Tapas in Harrogate

OMG! Food to absolutely die for. Tasted so amazing and the staff were super friendly. I left feeling happy after listening to amazing music and just generally having a good time. There wasn’t a dish we ordered that wasn’t amazing. I really couldn’t tell you what my favourite was. Shout out to the chef who I believe was on their own in the kitchen on the night we went. Other tables were commenting on how amazing the food was too

We visited Yorkshire Tapas as part of a birthday weekend away for my husband. I had booked here after reading the reviews and wanting something different to treat my husband. The food did not disappoint and we polished every dish off. My favourite were the beef dripping chips with beef and gravy. My husband loved the pork belly and ribs. The lady who served us was friendly and I thought it was great value. It is definitely worth a visit!

Yesterday afternoon we were in Six by Nico in Manchester. Today we find ourselves in Yorkshire Tapas at Blue bar. To be honest this was better. Superb evening at Yorkshire Tapas@BluesBar. A great concept providing traditional Yorkshire fare in a tapas style. Some of the tastiest food I've ever had with live blues music as well. Honest quirky food, served with great humour. The Malbec is superb! I'm thinking of sending the chef to the Assheton arms to show them how to make chips. Cannot recommend highly enough.

I’ve just eaten here with a group of friends. We all really enjoyed a super meal. We were all attracted to the style of making the best of Yorkshire food into tapas style and it didn’t disappoint. Friendly and attentive service and good value for money. The bar downstairs is bouncing with great tunes and enthusiastic punters, which we enjoyed, but it might not suit all. Wow wow wow a taste sensation, freshly cooked food that tingled every taste bud. We will definitely be back. There was more than enough food only had 5 tapas dishes

Early evening visit and were very happy with our meal. Music gave it a nice atmosphere and the food was really good too. NIce staff and altogether a happy evening out!

2 hour wait for food which was a very poor standard... aircon made the place feel very cold.. music not great...very disappointing

Popped in for a drink and a light lunch. Oh. My. God. The most amazing food in a fabulous quirky atmosphere. Friendly staff. We had the Cheese fondue and a Yorkshire Pudding with beef. Absolutely spot on. Would definitely go again.

Yorkshire tapas in the 'restaurant ' above the blues bar in harrogate was possibly the worst meal we gave ever had and one of the most expensive. The young girl who served us was brilliant but she was totally over worked and probably under paid. The food was meagre, over cooked, lacked substance and was lukewarm. The drinks were a rip off, sent from the bar downstairs where they were about a pound each cheaper, this should be illegal!!. We ordered about 10 or 12 tapas for 4 people and two rounds of drinks, see our bill for yourself and decide if you would like to be ripped off too. We waited 15 minutes to be seated, a further 15 to be asked for drinks, 45 minutes for the first plates of food and left over 2 and a half hours later Hungry!!!

Called in to grab a drink and book a table for the evening. We were told we had to book on line, both had trouble getting a reception on our phones, so we just decided to grab a cple of tapas with our drinks there and then. Very tasty and the barman was very helpful. Intended to go back but time got away from us. Next time we are there we will book beforehand, as we did enjoy what we sampled.

We called in after dinner at Cattlemens as you really can't beat live music and the band playing last friday were superb ! The bar was very busy but it didn't take long to get served. So , great bar, great music , fair prices & cracking atmosphere. No hesitation in recommending.

This was our 2nd visit and just as good. For 2 people, would recommend about 5 dishes between you. We had, beef bon bons, rosemary potatoes, pork belly, fish goujons & the Bradford curry, all were delicious. Sat in the window overlooking the gardens, just a lovely experience all round and at less than £50 for 2 with drinks, I think it’s pretty reasonable too.

If you like to be in a really nice venue, served by excellent staff and eat over priced average food then this is the place for you.

Sited as it is, upstairs from the Blues Bar, this place should have all the ingedients for a great night. The atmoshere was superb, but unfortunately our experience was let down by poor service. In the on-line booking form there is an opportunity to say whether the visit represents a special occasion, and as it was my wife's birthday I ticked the appropriate box. There were five of us, and things started well. This was an early doors booking, so there was no live music at this point but the DJ played a good selection and downstairs people were already dancing. We ordered drinks and food quickly, and after about half an hour the tapas started coming out. All the dishes arrived over about a twenty minute period except for two, the prawns and tatties bravas. After about 20 minutes we asked if the missing dishes were on their way, and we were told they were. A further half hour later they still hadn't arrived, and we were told that the food lift had broken, and they would have to cook the dishes again. I did wonder how it was that others were being served if the food lift had broken, so I suspected that our dishes had been given to the wrong table. After a further 25 minutes or so the tatties arrived, but no prawns. After more time, about another 20 minutes I decided to cancel the prawns and asked for the bill. The charges for some of our drinks, and of course the prawns, were removed from the bill, and we were offered shots of tequila to say sorry....which was a nice gesture, but we declined. By this time the evening was at best a disappointment. The tapas we chose were ok, but not great. The goujons of haddock were very nice, but the Yorkshire Bhaji was disappointing. The portions were quite small, and the guidance was to order 5-6 dishes between two people. I'd suggest you need more than that if you're at all hungry. It isn't an expensive menu, so represents reasonable value. The servers were very polite, but never once did they check whether we wanted more drinks or whether we had received all our food, we had to go and seek people out whenever we wanted something (except when we placed the initial order). It was quite frustrating having raised the issue of the missing food, that we didn't get one update once we had informed them, we had to go chasing on at least three occasions. As I said at the start it should have all the ingredients for a decent night out, but maybe not the place to go if you want decent food delivered in a reasonable timescale.

Lovely food, and the two female waitresses were wonderful. However there were no warnings of Nuts on the Menu, and my Yorkshire Pudding came out sprinkled with Hazelnuts. As I had a nut allergy I couldn't eat this and to send this back. A Waiter called John (think he was the manager) came out with a replacement and was very rude to me in front of our whole table of 6 - He was very passive aggressive, and basically accused me of faking a nut allergy and said "usually nut allergies are very seriously... But you look ok..!?". Completely ruined the whole night for us and I will not be returning. It's a shame as the food was lovely.

If you are up for a different dining experience and willing to try something different give this a go. This was truly an experience. We booked at very short notice and got a slot on a Saturday night. We had not been to the venue...

Wonderful food, great music and fantastic atmosphere. What more can i say?Highly recommended. Tapas are very generous in size, wine list a bit lacking but overall a very good night out.

This is a lovely place if you like a bit of music and great food. The blues bar is downstairs and is full on fun. Then you get upstairs into a lovely room full of booths for eating in. The ‘Yorkshire Tapas’ is a lovely mix of lovely food (which you would usually get a big plate of) in a load of little plates so you can taste everything you want to. The pork belly, curry, potatoes and pickled cabbage were fantastic. We had the Yorkshire pud too but even as salt lovers, it was too salty for us. The thing that made our evening was John, who was attentive without being intrusive and really engaging. He can also make a great dry Martini and a pretty darn good Old Fashioned - the two cocktails I measure a cocktail bar by. Thank you - we had a great time.

We booked because of the excellent reviews on Trip Advisor. The Tapas Bar is above a Blues Bar. It has cosy seating ‘booths’- ideal for these Covid times. The waiter was very helpful suggesting 5 plates might be right for an older couple having their 1st tapas experience. All the food was excellent but we particularly enjoyed the pork belly and thr Yorkshire Wraps.

We were staying overnight and managed to book this restaurant a few days before we arrived and it’s lucky we did as it’s a very small cosy place above a Blues bar playing live music. We had to wait a few minutes for our table (there are only half a dozen) the food was outstanding and the service very good. We would highly recommend a visit if you can get in!

We booked a table for 2, 2 weeks in advance knowing how busy it would be. We arrived at the venue to be told their booking system had changed so our booking was cancelled, along with another couple who we're waiting alongside us. This wouldn't have been an issue if there had been some contact to let us know our booking was cancelled but there was no form of contact at all leaving us with no where to go for food for the evening.

The best tapas I’ve ever had!! Huge variety!!! Unique ideas and portions bigger than any tapas I’ve had. Try the Yorkshire pudding stuffed with beef and mash. Lovely atmosphere of u sit outside!!

Searching around for places to visit during these crazy times. Chanced upon this place and as I have frequented the Blues Bar many times, thought we would try. Great welcome, all precautions sensibly done. Drinks order taken and we were left to mull over the menu. Interesting choices of locally sourced grub. Chose ribs, belly pork and chicken with a side of chips and coleslaw. I must say, it was all paced nicely, the food was very unctuous and reet good !!!

What a great twist on tapas. All “small dishes” done with a unique Yorkshire flair. And when I say small dishes they are anything but. I’d def recommend, don’t have a big lunch that day and enjoy a Yorkshire take on tapas

We were very pleased that we chose Yorkshire Tapas for our meal that night.The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We chose five dishes and all of them were really good, we found the dishes far more interesting than the run of the mill Spanish type dishes.Sometimes you find good food without good beer to match, I was very impressed with the beer too. We left happy!

Really nice dishes, packed full of flavour. We both had the pulled beef and creamy mash-filled Yorkshire Pudding, they are so nice you have to have one all to yourself and not share it. The Henderson's sticky pigs came with some baked bread to dip in the sauce and the 'Tatties' Bravas were baked in cheese. A lovely place to eat.

Fantastic food, bit different from normal menu choices, couldn’t say the same about the service, had to ask for menus after 45minutes, drinks got missed and very slow when they did take the order. Poor service aside, would still go back again because the food was that good!

Quirky restaurant above a music bar (there's a large TV screen showing the scene from downstairs which is a laugh), its next door to Betty's tea rooms, seating generally in booths. As others have said it's Tapas with a Yorkshire twist (eg Patatas Bravas becomes Tatties Bravas). Bit hard to describe, just go! Dishes are larger than traditional Tapas so you're probably going to need one less per person than you normally have.Service was good, knowledgeable and friendly wine good price and you can always have a beer or G&T downstairs before or after. Excellent evening out.

This was the first place I had eaten out in Harrogate and it set the bar extremely high. Do not let the initial venue deter you as it is slightly confusing that it is on the upstairs of a small blues/jazz bar. The twist on tapas with a Yorkshire style was like nothing I had eaten before. The portions sizes were very generous and the price is unbeatable. We had six dishes between the two of us which was slightly ambitious however as the prices were so reasonable this was not an issue. Our favourites were the beef dripping hand cooked chips, the Yorkshire clue cheese fondue and the chorizo mac and cheese. The staff upstairs were helpful and friendly taking the time to explain the dishes to you if you are having difficulty deciding. I will definitely be a regular customer here and I highly recommend anyone else does the same.

The chef here is talented and cares about the food he produces. The food is absolutely delicious and the portions are huge. We almost walked past - it is above the Blues Cafe - and I’m so glad we didn’t. A very successful meal, even with 3 diffident teenagers. If I have one small gripe, it’s that the heavy metal music was too loud and intrusive.

Recently visited Yorkshire Tapas and was pretty much summed up in the title. First walked in and weren't too sure about the place. Didn't get the restraunt/cafe vibe (looks like a local boozer). Food on the other hand..... Wow!!! Flavours, value for money, quantity and service was well worth braving it. Definitely would revisit and has convinced me to give places a chance even if they don't look great to look at on first impression.

We were looking for something a bit different and it is. Tasty croquettes, meatballs, but a bit too much pickled red cabbage on several of the dishes, plus a lot of salt on the garlic bread. Great music from downstairs added to a nice atmosphere. So I’ve given it mid rating - solely because of the overdose of pickle

Went for dinner on a Thursday evening when we got there the place was empty and the lights were off.the food was ok we had a problem with two of the dishes but the waiter sorted it out.we were there for two hours and only two more people came in not a very good atmosphere.we wouldn’t go back.

We went here Friday night and it was a fantastic find. It is quite a unique place above a blues bar. We had a lovely booth by the window. The tapas was amazing some of the best we have had a especially enjoyed the patatas bravas and haddock Gounod. The staff were very attentive. Would definetly recommend this place.

Came in here on a Friday night! Live band playing downstairs, which you can watch from the restaurant upstairs! Quirky! Lively, Awesome food! What more do you want To kick your weekend off!

Had the pleasure of goin to this little place yesterday, and got to say the food and service was outstanding, great value for money and beautiful tasty food..Definitely going back on our next vist to Harrogate.....

This is a more difficult review to write. Firstly the concept and menu is brilliant.. service, although it appeared the gentleman was by himself, really made an effort. The food is okay to good. I can’t put my finger on it, but I didn’t think at any point “oh these are really good”. However it may be due to the venue. The restaurant is top floor above a blues bar. It was Saturday night so had live music and I’ll be honest they were awful. The place was packed downstairs but we had a couple of visitors to the restaurant in particular two lads absolutely smashed, falling over, both sat down at the table next to us. They didn’t last long and went away again but with the awful band playing out through the speakers we didn’t enjoy it as much as we wanted. I’d suggest a lunch would be good, dinner not the best. Im sorry.

Couldn’t recommend this place highly enough. It does what it says on the tin, fresh local Yorkshire food Tapas style. Portions are perfect size!

Absolutely loved this place, the food was fantastic and the waiter even better.

Called in on speck after seeing the Sunday afternoon band in the Blues Bar, was expecting (becoming newly vegan) to encounter some difficulty but far from it, a wonderful tasty meal was offered & presented & nothing was too much trouble, it was even cooked in a separate pan, which was a very thoughtful touch.

We visited here as a group of three who all love tapas. The location is lovely as it over looks a local park and the bar is downstairs with the restaurant upstairs. This is a casual and relaxed place with live music on the Saturday night we were there. The menu is small but interesting with generous portions. The food was nicely flavoured but it would have been nice to see a couple of vegetable dishes as it was heavily meat focussed. The choice of gins was mind blowing but I can highly recommend the cocktails and the service was great.

We called at Yorkshire Tapas as a pre-birthday meal for my wife. To say that Harrogate is famous for Betty's Tea Room, it really should be famous for Yorkshire Tapas.

We loved our meal here. The menu was varied and interesting and beautifully cooked. We enjoyed all the dishes we picked. Great service too. Do try it - you won’t be disappointed.

Went to Yorkshire tapas at the weekend with my partner for our anniversary after hearing so many good things about it. It definitely lived up to expectations.

Good location, great gin choice, nice tapas...BUT we booked 6 months prior and were told on the second night of our booking at this location an hour before we were due to arrive that as they had a larger booking from people who wanted to dine there that evening that we had to move our booking and that was only because our booking had got through after the staff trying to cancel us. Not good. All left on a voicemail an hour prior to our booking. Needless to say, we did not attend but the previous night when we ate here, it was very nice.

What a fantastic find, friendly staff and service, delicious ' different' food, a wonderful choice for a Hen Party ,brilliant cocktails, all in all a not to be missed experience...plus live music !!

I don’t have enough superlatives to describe this place… It’s sits on a small hill, overlooking a park, and as it was quiet when we visited, we got the prize table – the one that overlooks the park.

Above the Blues bar that was filled when we arrived with a lot of bearded gents and not of the ‘dapper’ type, this is not your run of the mill restaurant. Upstairs similarly surprising, like an old pub with high backed stalls, a really unique place and the food continued the vein. The service and food were fantastic and at an extremely reasonable price. The atmosphere was great and staff and patrons alike were a very friendly bunch, overall as the title says, not what we expected, different from anything we’ve seen before but had a great night!

I can't express enough the food that it offers here. A total different why to offer food on a tapas menu. The flavours and sauces just tantalised the taste buds, and the aromas were flowing. Whilst your waiting there's a small bar that offers a large selection of Gins and offer beverages.

A small venue, with great service! I highly recommend this lovelly little gem, what a pleasant supriuse! You would expect to find the quality of food you get here from it's surroundings, upstairs from the Blues Bar. The staff were very attentive, the food was well proportioned, well timed, very well balanced, great mix of flavours and tastes, not to be missed!

Was recommended to try this bar by a friend and if did not disappoint. Fab setting and the bar is very quirky. We had some food and it was fabulous. The bar staff (Rohan) not sure whether that's the right spelling! was really friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was great. Will definitely go back.

Great place to visit in Harrogate. Highly recommend all of the dishes especially the Yorkshire wraps. Best table is a private booth overlooking the park. Fabulous waitress who was serving. Only criticism was the suggest dishes was 3 per person and 2 each would have been more than enough, the portions were almost full size meals. Great evening thank you

Brilliant place laid out in big booths. Food was excellent, nice range of beers. Staff very friendly. Everything they sell is from Yorkshire. We are planning a return visit when we are back there in June.

Located above the Blues bar in the picturesque Montpellier Quarter of the beautiful Victorian town.

I have to post a mixed review as a result of a very varied experience.

The bar offers a relaxed place to have a good lunch; the tapas portions are large enough for a light meal and the beer's good. Add the relaxed surroundings and the great music choice and you've got a good place to spend some time.

A lovely place to go and celebrate the end of the holidays with some wonderful food that is sourced around the county.
