Yoku Sushi in Eastbourne

It may be quite a while ago but my auntie was unfortunate to have had a fish bone stuck in her throat. However, the staff were quick to respond and even sent us home with some lemons and limes. Very wonderful service. We came in in a large group and wasn't sure if we would be allowed in as we did not book yet they managed to get us in. The food was wonderful. Thank you

Honestly just your average sushi place.

Lovely food always heard good from them,but they didn’t complete my order I asked for a California roll and usually it includes the crab on top which they didn’t put,I am extremely devastated since it was my favourite part.

Only stopping one night in Eastbourne found this restaurant by accident lucky I did the food was wonderful they had some Korean dishes on the menu which I love and i wasn't disappointed overall the food the service and price were spot and left very happy shame there not in West Yorkshire I would definitely be going back

Absolutely amazing!! I live locally and come here all the time, it's my favourite restaurant in town. The staff are lovely, the atmosphere is wonderful, and the food is all absolutely delicious. I've yet to have a dish that was anything less than wonderful! I would especially recommend going at lunch time and getting a bento box, which is perfect for when I can't decide between all the yummy options. Would leave 6 stars if I could.

Excellent food, lovely and very accommodating front and back of the house staff. It was nothing too difficult for them to change if any food preferences/allergies. We enjoyed our dinner @ Yoku Sushi very much, freshness and quality of each dish was amazing. Very good wine list and definitely great value for money. Sashimi Deluxe, Bulgogi and Dolsot Bibimbap both with chicken mouthwatering. Thank you!

We ordered the tan tan beef ramen, but unfortunately, it was quite disappointing. The beef was tough and the broth tasted like instant noodles. The 7 spice squid and yakitori were decent, but the only positive aspect was that the food was served quickly.

Just passing through Eastbourne and stopped here for lunch, had two bento boxes to takeaway and they were amazing. Totally exceeded our expectations. Looking for an excuse to go back so we can eat in the restaurant. Highly recommend

My friends and I come here once a month after our payday. It’s like a mega treat for us. The staff are really friendly and welcoming. The restaurant is always very clean and we absolutely love the food. Yum yum. Can’t wait for this months visit.

I was looking forward to going here since I lived in New York and fell in love with Japanese food there. Unfortunately I could not tell you if this is worth visiting as they are anti disabled. We regularly come here for dinner. I have tried some sushi, ramen and bibimbap, and they are all DIVINE. Highly recommend it if you want a nice dinner.

Food delivery. I love this restaurant but the salmon teriyaki was very dry and a very small portion for £13! Next time I go in I will complain.

A fabulous establishment to indulge in sashimi, sushi and other genuine delights. Food is fresh, delicious and served quickly by the friendly and attentive staff. Spend as much or as little as your appetite demands. Really good value.

I was looking forward to going for quite a while, and ended up somewhat disappointed unfortunately. The service was fine, food was ok, atmosphere also just ok, a bit noisy and dark. My main issue is that the food didn't taste very fresh, presentation was nice but the beef was chewy/fatty and everything was salty and lacking other flavours. Nothing was super bad, but I've had much better meals too. I will say the Pumpkin Croquettes and the Sushi were the better parts of my meal, the mains were a let down.

Ordered a takeaway from Yoku tonight - the food was delicious and the portions were generous! Will definitely order again.

This is one of my favourite restaurant. You can eat really well here. Everything is perfectly seasoned and prepared. However, it should be noted that the portions to take away are much smaller than the portions on site. I recently ordered 2 pasta dishes there one with chicken the other with beef for take way and I was slightly disappointed because there was no meat in either one just few small pic. But generally I have eaten many times at this restaurant and recommend it.

Had a takeaway including spicy chicken, tempura prawns and calamari. All very enjoyable at around £30 for two via Deliveroo.

Had a great time here. The sushi was fresh and to a high standard. Our server looked after us and overall we found everything to be reasonably priced.

We were very impressed with this restaurant - unexpected given the slightly run down feel of the street! Food prepared very well, and servers were polite and attentive. The music was quite loud when we were first seated, which didn't suit the atmosphere, but it did get quieter so perhaps a small error. It would also be nice to see more creative vegetarian options - I know sushi is traditionally fish and thus haven't knocked down stars for this, but it's nice when there's something other than plain avocado or cucumber as a sushi option.

A lovely Asian restaurant that serve’s sushi and Raman noodles, more of a canteen than restaurant, but that’s what I would have expected good friendly staff. Prompt service very fresh food presented well. Looking forward to going back.

A bit hard to find because of all the construction, but they'd helpfully put a sign up on the street so we could find it. A nicely decorated restaurant with very helpful & polite waiters. We had the vegan sushi roll & tofu pockets to start & katsu curry and gluten-free noodles for mains. The pumpkin katsu curry was delicious! It was the first time we'd had a katsu curry taste this good in a long time. I would most definitely recommend this restaurant for the food. I've taken a star off for the atmosphere because of the flies that were all around our table, which was a bit annoying. But apart from that 10/10.

Standard Spoons - great value, friendly staff, fast service. Could fry or poach eggs due to 'equipment failure'. I can only guess all the pans went on strike that day.

Yoku Sushi is such an amazing place, I've been many times and thoroughly loved it each time. They used to not have a vegetarian ramen on the menu, so I emailed them asking if they'd be able to make one specially for me, and they were more than happy to. When I ordered it, the waitress came back to check multiple times I'd gotten the correct thing, to ensure no meat had been added, even as she was leaving to finish her shift. They've since added that ramen to the menu :)) The absolute sweetest staff, the best food, and so very worth your money!!

I hate saying this, but the first thought that came to mind as my meal was placed before me was "oops, I've made a mistake." Sorry, this just didn't warm the cockles of my heart... nor my palate.

Went there after seeing all the positive reviews and it did not disappoint. We wanted to try and bit of everything so had Takoyaki, Chicken wings, gyozas, beef bulgogi and vegetable tempura…literally everything was amazing. Felt really authentic, staff were really kind too. Great service and not even that expensive. Whole meal came to like £35 for both of us. Bonus points for playing Jujutsu Kaisen soundtrack 😍

This is a firm favourite of ours! The food is always exceptional, the service is equally as excellent. I cannot think of a single negative for Yoku. The price is extremely reasonable too! We will return again and again!

Great little find. Well worth a visit

The secret to a successful resturant I find is the illusion that your fine dining when in reality your not spending all that much, and Yoku Sushi does this masterfully! Fantastic atmosphere, great service and DEAD cheap food considering how well made it is. You can get up to three mains easily for under £40 here. This was the restaurant that got me into sushi, and I've converted several friends and family into trying it as well (go for the California rolls!) Would deffo recommend for a great all around experience.

We ordered a selection of foods, including starters, sushi, sashimi & mains - all of it was lovely, really fresh & extremely tasty. Unbelievably good food... You must try the beef bulgogi!!!

We visited Yoku on a Sunday evening for a meal after a long day's walking. We were not disappointed! We were met warmly upon walking in and were looked after really well by the team. We enjoyed sake cocktails, wine and beer and an array of super fresh, tasty Japanese food. We chose the pumpkin croquettes, prawn tempura, various sushi rolls and chicken katsu donburi and all were really delicious. The prices were very reasonable for a Japanese restaurant (they had a Korean page on the menu too) and the restaurant had lovely lighting and music playing. We loved Yoku and will definitely be back!

Visited this restaurant after reading the reviews and we were not disappointed. Lovely flavoured and presented food with attentive service. Lots of menu options with the addition of the lunch bento box option. The teriyaki salmon was out face but it was all delicious.

My husband is an excellent cook (lucky me!) so we rarely go out to eat. However, when we do, our first choice is always Yoku Sushi. While it may be hidden away in a strange part of the town, everything about Yoku Sushi is delightful. The staff are always welcoming and lovely and the food is constantly delicious. Sushi is excellent and my particular favourite is the oysters tempura. We lived in Southeast Asia for several years and always looking for a place where we feel "at home". Yoku Sushi ticks all the boxes.

Lovely place in town centre. I went there for a quick dinner. Lots of choice, many positions on the menu including vegetarian meals. Staff is very polite and helpful. My food arrived really fast and it was tasty. Must try here - wakame salad.

Good sushi, been there a couple of times. The last time, eel rolls were with bones, which is not very pleasant. In general, very good.

Ate here with some friends and the menu was massive with plenty of choice. You would think this would compromise on quality, however the food was excellent all around. I literally cannot fault it. We had two vegetarians in our party who thought the vegetarian dishes were really delicious. They loved the pumpkin croquettes and the vegetable tempura was delightful. Staff were super accommodating, gracious and friendly. Checking in with us every so often and clearing empty plates. They were so sweet! My only fault would be that they had some issues with their card machine, however that was totally out of their control and were super apologetic about it. Technology has a mind of its own sometimes. Service amazing, food amazing. Would come again in a heartbeat! Thank you!

We regularly visit the restaurant and order delivery. The sushi is always fresh and so tasty. We plan to continue to visit every couple of months. My favourite treat and a perfect way to finish a busy Christmas Eve.

Wow what an amazing hidden secret!! I have lived in Asia for 10 years and have struggled to find an authentic Japanese and Korean restaurant outside of London and seriously did not expect to find it tucked away in Eastbourne. The food was incredible, service...

If you like Japanese food this place should be the best choice in Eastbourne. Try also Japanese whisky and sakei for good spirits. So many different kinds of Japanese dishes need to be try. Come and enjoy them!
