Amazing food, waitress really friendly and gave great recommendations - would recommend the twice cooked pork and green beans, so delicious!!!

Flawless! From the beginning to the end of our experience everything went very well. The service was perfect, the atmosphere calm and pleasant and the meal excellent. Don’t hesitate to take several dishes to share so you don’t miss any of the delicious flavors on offer.

My taste buds danced with joy. This place deserves all the praise!

Excellent place to discover out from the crowded upper street restaurants

This used to be one of my favorite Chinese restaurants in london. But in December 2023 it’s just horrible. Probably the worst Chinese food I had. The restaurant is literally empty, no one here besides us. The menu is full of crossed out items and layers of stickers of new prices.

What a great authentic tasting Chinese restaurant from the more Western region of China (Spicy). Great selection of dishes at a very reasonable price. A great find. I Will definately be back.

We love this place. The food is great and there's a huge variety of dishes with plenty of spicy sechuan options. The greens are fresh, the meat is seasoned well and the flavours are delicious. The staff are so nice and friendly and even let us stay late in the private room we hired because we were having such a good time. The venue is great and the atmosphere is relaxed and cosy. We keep coming back 😊

Wow. Tucked away just near Upper Street is an amazing Hunanese-Chinese restaurant. With a mixture of western favourites and more authentic food, generous portions, reasonable prices and friendly service it's not to be missed. For most people one portion of the egg fried rice will cheerfully serve two. Do yourself a favour and order at least one item from the Hunanese section of the menu. Whether you are going for authentic or not - don't miss it!

The worst Chinese food had in town. Very expensive for what I get. Premium price for very poor quality food. It’s defiantly not authentic. Unpleasant dining experience.

I went to the place for take away and ordered scallops and pork liver. The lady insisted cash only for 10% off - is this money laundry? ?When I came home and opened the boxes I was shocked by how poor the food quality was. I could hardly find any scallops ( just a few slices say 0.5cm nothing matched the photo on their menu) and the liver was very very chewy! Even worse that the chef used the same sauce for 2 different dishes! I doubt they just mixed the left overs from previous diners!! I can’t even think of that disgusting experience!!!

Yipin by name yipin by nature. Yipin means top quality in Chinese and the food was definitely that. Classic tastes of Hunan and Sichuan provinces. Lots of deep flavours with plenty of chillies and Sichuan peppers to give that mala (numbing spice) feeling. The staff are friendly and respectful and the space is clean. Tables are not placed too close to one another and we never felt rushed.

We had the roast duck and it was clearly defrosted from frozen. It was dry, grisley and chewy.

Lovely food, casual atmosphere, unique choices but definitely not to be missed.

The shape of the eating place is appropriate

Cucumber was good, but the Peking duck was very dry.

I can firmly state that the food was authentic and delicious being Chinese myself. The customer service was excellent and the employees were very kind.

Nice and vibrant flavors! 😋 The staff were friendly and the place was clean, if you are around the area and want something spicy 🌶️ definitely come here. For 3 people we ordered 4 dishes + rice and it was filling 😌.

The food is average, service was awful and staff were extremely rude! I ordered sweet and sour pork with egg fried rice and my pork came out with my rice following 15mins after. I had cold pork and hot rice and no apology. Then when it came to the bill they automatically added their service charge on to it, which to be honest I would never have paid. Nothing impressive about the service that I felt deserved that money. They also kept forgetting items we had ordered. Safe to say I would not be returning to this place. Mediocre food and staff very rude. If you want good quality food and great service…Yi Ban is the place to go.

It’s not cheap if your dining alone as the main courses are quite pricey but huge portions. Went in alone had five spice fish, mixed fungus and plain rice, was the best Chinese food I’ve had in a VERY long time, i was just driving past too ! Will defo be coming back thanks Yipin x

Tasty somewhat, definitely not worth the value as portion sizes aren't great. Service is quite cold. Wouldn't really recommend.

We got delivery, the ribs were amazing, but the duck had gone bad and was smelly.

From Cantonese to Northern Chinese cuisine, they have it covered and the food served is just as the menu shows. If you prefer your Chinese food hot and spicy or the more "traditional" sweet and cripsy. Then you will not be disappointed. If you're disabled or mobility challenged the toilets are not friendly in that regard, that I have to mention. But the rest is great and the staff are very friendly.

The best Chinese in Islington without a doubt - we’ve been going here for almost a decade. Recommendations include: - Dry Wok dishes - Gong Bao prawn/chicken - Dry Fried Green Beans with Pork - Any veg stir fried with garlic

I have eaten dinner at Yipin several times and been impressed every time. As I usually go with a big group I got the chance to try a large variety of dishes and can safely say that they were all incredibly flavorful (The Chairman Mao Pork is particularly good). Service has been consistently good and the prices are very reasonable - particularly as most of the dishes are pretty big. Definitely a good place to go if you are sharing food.

Had a casual lunch and really enjoyed the food. Don't be put off by the lack of décor! Everything was really well executed and had a note of quality about it. Lot's of regional options as well as the classics. I'd definitely go again. Service was warm and friendly.

In the past we have always been exceptionally pleased with Dine In and Delivery from Yipin. This time however, very dissatisfied! They have changed from their own delivery service to Deliveroo. Their own website was trying it's hardest to infect my phone with a virus by trying to convince me I had won something, so after 2 phone calls, I attempted to order via Deliveroo. Deliveroo stated that Yipin was in Liverpool Street (which made me think it was a different restaurant) so after yet another call to the restaurant I tried to order via Deliveroo! I only wanted Duck Pancakes, but none of the prices were working on Deliveroo. I finally managed to order with the price nearly £20 for a quarter of duck!!!!! But I was prepared to order at that price as I was so hacked off and I thought of the quality of food. When the order finally arrived, it was the worst duck I have ever had. We shall not be Dining In or using delivery again from here again sadly!

Great Chinese restaurant. A bit mixture of Cantonese styled Hunan/Sichuan restaurant. Which mean it's not too spicy, while at the same time it won't be oily as those very authentic Sichuan. I prefer this a lot

Best Chinese food in London!! Extremely friendly staff and the kitchen is very fast.

Delicious and varied menu of Hunan/Xiang cuisine. This is one of the spicier cuisines of China, but unlike Sichuanese food, Hunanese use more fragrant chillies so you get a different depth of flavour than the mouth numbing feel of sichuan pepper. I popped by for lunch and ordered pig ears (gobbled them up before I could take a photo), smashed cucumber and dan dan noodles. Generous portions, really great flavours, it hit the spot after craving spicy Chinese food for weeks I really appreciated the range of cold offal on the menu. Will definitely come back with a group so we can order a range of dishes and share.

I was recommended Yippin through word of mouth and was not left disappointed. Every dish was bursting with flavour, with no overwhelming spiciness. If you're new to mainland Chinese cuisine you're sure to discover some new and exciting tastes. Perfect for group meals so you can order for variety and share. They also have private rooms for group bookings. Staff were friendly and the pricing very reasonable.

非常不满意…………从菜品口味和食材来说都不🙅🏻‍♂️点了四个菜道道踩雷…… 首先量很少，一盘8镑的皮蛋豆腐只用一个皮蛋？ 蒜蓉粉丝白菜也很淡，粉丝一股塑料味… 孜然牛肉，用鲜辣椒炒的，风味是出来的，但是牛肉本身不新鲜，只是用重重的配料盖住了而已 水煮鱼算是这桌大菜了，上之前也很期待，结果鱼肉完全是腥的，一股土味………为了让鱼肉不松散裹了淀粉但吃起来太奇怪了……… 上菜很慢，等了快四十分钟，店里就一个服务员顾全场，服务态度还可以。 口味先不说，食材不新鲜真的❌

Excellent Chinese restaurant that specialises in Hunanese food, but also has specialties from other regions. Food tastes as good as in China, as the large numbers of Chinese people who eat there attests. Highly recommended

Loved the offal and kung pao prawns - exceptional dishes

The food is good and authentic but It just took so long for our food to be ready. We only ordered a plate of fried rice and a plate of spicy frog meat…so that made two dishes…and we ended up waiting for over 40 mins to get food.

Good value for groups with large portions well-suited to sharing. Plenty of choice on the Hunan/Szechuan menu - naturally with fistfuls of chili in either case.

It’s a cozy place with friendly service and great Chinese food! It’s our first time there. Price is reasonable and the food can be even more spicy. If they can add hot pot option it would be great. Can’t wait to go back!

On of the very best Chinese restaurant in London. You can find specialties from many places and all of them being authentic. This restaurant is named in the Michelin Guide and definitely deserves it! Demasiado pero lo hicimos lo suficientemente cerca como para terminarlo todo.Los puntos culminantes vegetarianos incluyeron raíz de loto picante fría, maíz dulce con piñones y chile, tiras finas de papa muy especiada y champiñones negros con chile y cilantro.
