Yiamas in Glasgow City

Had a large group dinner of 17 in Yiamas for a special occasion . We had a great time! Food was delicious and staff were lovely with a good atmosphere. Would recommend !

Food was amazing and good range of gf vg etc staff were lovely, were neglected slightly at the end but it had started to get busy with not much staff so was understandable. Food was fresh and amazing, will def be back (photo is the vegan pita it was incredible)

Went today chad lunch time deal chicken gyros and soft drink was delicious. Tastes the real deal

We had a lovely Mother’s Day dinner in Yiamas! The food was delicious and great sized portions. Especially loved the vibe leaves and the lamb souvlaki! Very reasonably priced too! We will definitely be back

A Greek God is amongst us and their name is Yiamas. Always my favourite place to eat in Glasgow!

I've had gyros many times in Greece and can confidently say the one I had at Yiamas is one of the best I've ever had. The food is amazing, they have Mythos, the service is great and the prices are fair. This is now one of our favourite restaurants in Glasgow so can highly recommend it.

Friendly family run eatery, fabulous gyros, and baklava to die for. Recommended. Oh and try the orange sponge dessert....oh my days it's heavenly.

Food good quality, service a bit off Ordered loukaniko and gyros with a gluten free pitta, and an extra regular pitta Waitress then asked if we'd like to swap the tzatziki for hummus, as the taztziki had yoghurt in it. "Your yoghurt contains gluten?" She just looks confused. OK, so she's mixed up dairy and gluten, everyone gets one, sure she'll get corrected in the kitchen. More confusion ordering the pittas, and we ended up with the regular pitta that came with the main, plus 1 extra gf and 1 extra regular pitta Then we got souvlaki instead of gyros We were in a rush so didn't complain, souvlaki was good anyway, would come back

A wee taste of home (or where we perceive our future home to be). The food is superb, staff attentive and price competitive with the surrounding establishments. Give this wee gem a go, you will not be disappointed!

Excellent food as ever. Had the Mixed Gyros, which is highly recommended but make sure you are hungry. Great service as ever.

The night, dark and the clouds, low. I made my way up Buchanan Street as if I was climbing to Olympus itself. I felt like the pilgrims of old making a dangerous journey to the mystical Eleusis. My Trials and tribulations to be rewarded with ancient secrets and ever lasting life. As I broke the clouds of bath street, before me stood the looming arches of Yiamas. The warm comforting glow lured me in, making promises only gods could keep. My physical journey was over, making way for my spiritual journey to begin. As I sat and watched the high priest and priestesses begin to brew my veg moussaka, I pondered just what made this place so special. Was it the welcoming atmosphere? Was it the world class authentic greek cuisine? Or was it the love and passion of the family run business taking pride in everything they do? I came to the conclusion it was all of the above. The mortal and 3 dimensional words that fill my vocabulary are not enough to describe yiamas, akin to understanding the enormity of the universe, describing the beauty of Gaia. Feeling the overwhelming power of a black hole where nothing not even light can escape its grasp. Yiamas is not for mere mortals but a place of gods, a place of worship. Only the worthy may enter.

Ordered two pitas. Meat is a bit on the drier side but it is close to how they make it in Greece.

We had a very tasty lunch! Friendly service from lovely staff and the food was great quality, brought out fresh as it was cooked. Would highly recommend! Thanks, everyone!

We ordered 4 portions of pork giros. The portions were very small. The meat has very thick sliced and just two pieces of pita bread??? Totally disappointed and I paid £51.8 for these.

Very busy little restaurant, it's been a whole since we had last been, we didn't book, and fortunately we got the last available table, people who came in shortly after us were unfortunately told there was a waiting time. So good to book! Meals were delicious, especially the lamb souvlaki, so tender and tasty, the house wine was OK, as far as house wines go! Desert was a treat, Galateboureko yum, and portocalopita, orange soaked sponge cake. Apologies if the spelling is wrong, but deserts were delicious.

In for a quick bite before cinema. Had a pork and halloumi gyros which hit the mark and a bottle of beer. Service was great.

Under cooked chicken and a waitress not familiar with the menu......shame! Been here before and loved it.

Quite disappointed unfortunately. I am Greek and was enthusiastic about going to that place. My friend ordered the gyros portion. The meat was very dry. This was also noticed by my other friend who ordered a pita gyros. He was also very disappointed with the meat. The tomato that was in my pita was yellow (not ripe). Unfortunately, quite a poor experience and felt bad to say anything to the very kind waitress who asked how the food was. On the positive side, atmosphere and service were good.

Very poor gluten free options. In fact they were non existent. This venues has a basic approach to GF dining. To exclude the gluten containing food is not a gluten free option in my view and very outdated. Can the chef just use gluten free flour to make the Moussaka gluten free? Then everyone could enjoy it. No option for a gluten free pudding other than ice-cream. Abysmal - would certainly not return and this venue needs to accomodate those with food intoleranes much better.

We had a reservation of 10 on Sunday at lunch, which was really well accommodated for and the service was perfect :) Our server was really friendly, helpful and precise with our order! I'm not sure what her name was, but we were served by a girl in a blue t-shirt, at around 1pm? The food was delicious, and I really like that we can watch how some food is made through a glass screen! The chips and tzatziki were definitely my favourite combo of the whole meal, but my halloumi pita wrap was also very delicious. Everyone else at the table also really enjoyed everything! I didn't hear a single complaint about anything nor have one myself :) I also ordered a freddo espresso which was perfect and super refreshing! The regular coffee tasted really nice, but I was surprised at the difference in taste between the regular and decaf versions. The regular one was very buttery and smooth, and the decaf one had earthy and bitter notes? We also brought our own cake which was really well accommodated for. Overall, great service and food! Thank you very much :)

Η ατμόσφαιρα είναι σαν ελληνική ταβέρνα, η εξυπηρέτηση ήταν άψογη (πιστεύω επειδή οι σερβιτόροι ζητάνε tips στο τέλος γι’ αυτό είναι τόσο τέλειοι σε ολα τα μαγαζιά) το φαγητό ήταν καλό, καθαρό μαγαζί, καλές τιμές, γενικά μου άρεσε θα ξανά πηγαινα!

Visited this place as part of a birthday celebration. We came late on the day and they ran out of a few options. We liked everything that we ordered. Overall nice atmosphere, would've been better with the Greek music.

Popped in for a lunchtime treat. I had a Mixed gyro for £7.95 and a diet coke. The service was kinda slow and it wasn't that busy. However I really enjoyed my lunch. Was a substantial gyro and I felt good value for the price. Will be back!

My favourite place to eat in Glasgow as the food is delicious, the staff are so friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed. It's a great place for a pre venue gyros before a visit to the concert hall. I cannot recommend this place highly enough and cannot wait to go back.

Amazing food, great staff, superb value for money

Amazing, fresh food, great portion sizes, very friendly and speedy service. Well priced too. Went there at about 18.00 on a Thursday after shopping in Glasgow, ordered the souvlaki (plates) and a Greek salad. We asked them to skip the chillies in the salad (some people noted that the food is spicy, so know that you can make these requests). Seriously, couldn't have asked for anything better. Hard recommend!

Wasn’t asked if I wanted tzatziki or hummus on my food unlike usually, this too slipped my mind resulting in my meal being smothered in a condiment I detest & wasted food, scran is usually great though

I absolutely love Greek food and culture and this is definitely the best in Glasgow. Looks small from the outside and didn’t think we would get seated but found out there is also an upstairs that was huge. Gyros amazing but would love to try something different next time I’m there. Girl working upstairs at around 5pm Sunday was lovely and very welcoming.

Great food! The server was lovely and the food was excellent. The chicken gyro was very tender and the pork souvlaki was top tier. The souvlaki is a big portion so come along hungry (or share if you can resist the temptation yourself). The aubergine and garlic dip is excellent if you want a side. It’s very close to queen street and Buchanan stations (about 5 mins).

Been here many times to try new flavoured dishes. The simple dishes,like the rustic chips had a salt/herb seasoning that I loved,as did the bread,oil,tomato, feta dish. Could not fault service,and we will be back again to try more dishes.

Dreadful place. Went there for a leisurely lunch with a friend, Spent several hours there and plenty of money there when they had no other customers. Nevertheless they continually badgered us to pay throughout. Despite only two other tables in use and the whole of the upper floor empty they pushed us to leave when we were having coffee after the meal. Would not recommend anyone goes there - there are some great other restaurants in the same street. Service dreadful and very very unwelcoming

The chicken gyros was bad just cold pitta bread chicken which even was not fresh one slice of tomato and one slice of onion and some potato chips and some kind of sauce do not know what that was. The worst gyros I have ever had in my life do not recommend to anyone

My new favourite Greek restaurant in Glasgow. Not as flashy but the gyros were excellent and most like the ones we had in Crete. The tzatziki was excellent and since we were hungry we added a chicken souvlaki which was big and tasty.
