Saturday 28th July 18, my husband and I after walking round the pretty village of Pembridge were in need of refreshments so we went to ‘Ye Olde Steppes’ tearoom, which was also the village shop.

This place is like a pilgrimage for us and everything is planned around it when we come to this neck of the wood. There is something about the ambiance which is the epitome of a perfect English Tea Room. The tasty Ciabattas with lashings of butter formed the bed for the Sausage, Egg and Bacon to rest with every item having its own distinct flavour.

Riverside Inn at Aymestrey

14/06/2018: Wow! Chef you did us both proud with our meals They were ever so tasty and most enjoyable We would certainly recommend the Food and the service here it was outstanding.
17/06/2018: Had Sunday Lunch here with local friends. We are traveling with our 3 dogs and let them know when we booked. They said they would make sure we had a nice table in the bar area where the dogs would be comfortable. Sure enough they had booked us a table by the window that was pretty much the only table in that corner of the bar so plenty of room for the pooches so they would'n't be in the way. On top of that they had a fluffy towel laid down on the floor and a big bowl of water already waiting for them. A little touch, but it said a lot. Our server (wish I had gotten her name, young blond with glasses and an infectious bubbly personality, you know who you are). It happened to be Fathers Day so they were very busy but you wouldn't have known it. The service was top and food arrived promptly. We all opted for Sunday roasts, 2 of us had the pork and 2 had the beef and it was all delightful Asked for extra gravy and it arrived straightaway. Spuds two ways, both roasted and new. And to top it off the menu indicated that if you wanted more of the veg or potatoes they would be happy to bring more to the table. Never had to test that though as we couldn't finish what we had! Sunday lunch is a set menu and you can choose 2 or 3 courses. Desserts very tasty as well. A pretty perfect Sunday Lunch!
