The food was good, although nothing special. We ate here on Christmas eve and were thankful to have found someplace nice that was open. We had a reservation which was a must. We sat upstairs where the decor is modern and pleasant. There is also a large seating area in the basement which doesn't have the best atmosphere - kind of dark and boring. The service was good. It was pricey for what we got, but it was Christmas eve so maybe things were marked up for the holiday. Since there are so many really great places to eat in London, while it was fine, we'll try something else next time.

Wow... what an amazing dining experience from start to finish. We ordered the spirit set menu and we were not disappointed.. amazing food! Cannot recommend highly enough. Our waiter, Mario, and waitress, Fareeda, were the nicest most helpful people! Ohhh and definitely gotta try the awesome expresso martinis 😜👌

Visited with my husband, first time at Soho branch. Cocktails were great, and vegan tasting menu was delicious and plentiful! Particularly liked the crispy wild mushroom and bean curd.. must try! Service was very attentive and great atmosphere.

Really great visit for lunch. Initially we were not happy with our seat (table next to us very noisy) and they moved us to a perfect one. The waiter was brilliant. Have proactive advice on the choice of tea and even better spotted that we had been given the wrong one as he poured. The food was amazing. Prawn cheung fun with bean curd was the best we have ever tasked and all the other dishes were great as well. We I gulches with a trio of their petit gateaux and these were delicious works of art. Remembered to take the photo after we ate one but these were the two best ones! No hesitation recommending and will be back next time we re in London

Nos pilló la hora de cenar paseando por el Soho y fuimos a dar a la puerta de este restaurante. Preguntamos para cenar sin reserva y fueron tan amables de hacernos un hueco, pero a partir de ahí la situación para nosotros fue empeorando bastante. En primer lugar nos sentaron en una mesa a un metro de una barra donde estaban sirviendo copas, con muy poca luz y gente bastante bulliciosa. Fue bastante lamentable tener que ver la carta con la linterna del móvil, no fue agradable tener la sensación de estar cenando en una discoteca o un bar de copas. En segundo lugar tardaron mucho en servirnos, no pedimos más que unos arroces, una sopa, un cerdo agridulce y un pato. El pato llegó lo primero, pero casi una hora después de sentarnos, y el resto un buen rato después. Y finalmente el precio me pareció excesivo para lo que comimos (una botella de agua 6£ me parece una barbaridad). Lo que comimos no estaba mal, pero tampoco mucho mejor de cualquier restaurante oriental medio decente. En justicia hay que decir que el personal fue amable y atento. Quizás mi valoración hubiera sido mejor en otras circunstancias, pero mi apreciación en esta ocasión es de restaurante chino con aires de discoteca.

My husband and I booked Sunday lunch for 13:30 but were in the area at 13:00 so stopped in and asked if we could have our table early. Efficient staff at reception said of course and we were immediately seated street level as requested when we booked. Attentive service from the start from Mamun who was personable yet professional throughout our meal. We asked if he could ensure our food was brought out slowly so we could relax and not feel rushed; he ensured we never had more than two items on the table at any given time. Food was great as is always the case. Cheung fun has to be the best dim sum on the menu, followed closely by the Venison puffs and Prawn toast. Ended our meal with a couple of special Dragon macarons on the dessert menu. For us, Yauatcha has always been consistent with its quality of both food and service; today was no exception. Thanks again to Mamun for ensuring our afternoon was an enjoyable one.

It was my first time here, and I love that the dim sums are freshly made. It's definitely a quality over quantity kinda experience. Highly recommend this place. Desserts were amazing, too. I only didn't like the ambience, which is a bit too dark to my liking. Otherwise, it was a good experience.

Great ambiance and amazing food for a really special dining experience. We chose vegan options which were incredible, from the hot and sour soup to an assortment of dim sum. My favourites were the mushroom cheung fun (absolutely incredible flavours and textures) and the edamame puff - a crispy then melt-in-your-mouth dim sum. Definitely recommended!

I've really enjoyed previous meals at Yauatcha, but it seemed to have gone downhill both in terms of food quality and ambience. We sat downstairs but it wasn't low lighting or atmospheric as it had been when we visited previously. The service was lack-lustre and it was hard to get anyone's attention to order wine. We had a vegetarian set menu. The dimsum starters were all tasty and the edamame puffs were the highlight of the whole meal. The main course of stir-fried green beans was underwhelming and more like a side dish except for the quantity - really just plain green beans with some seasoning -we ended up leaving a lot of it. The dessert was forgettable. I can see that they've changed the menu since we went, which I hope is an improvement.

Miserable dining experience facilitated by a restaurant team that wilfully commit an offence by knowingly continue to serve people who are already drunk. We were seated at 4:30pm and shortly after this, a couple who were clearly already drunk were sat in the same area as us. The next 2 hours they proceeded to shout and scream non-stop, and if they weren't sliding off their chairs, they were jumping up and stamping around other guests tables. This included, among many other interesting statements, shouting to the restaurant that they didn't respect people in the military because they only spend 12 months in Afghanistan, whereas they've spent several years in Thailand, so they have more world experience. Other tables made complaints with the staff, who proceeded to do nothing and continue to bring rounds of tequila shots to the drunk couple. The entire section of the restaurant looked completely miserable and we obviously weren't the only people who had our meal ruined. The restaurant team is either unable to ensure a good dining experience, or they do not care about providing one. Beyond this though, they also appear happy to operate illegally by breaking the Licensing Act which is supposed to prevent people like this from continuing to be served. This meal experience cost £170 for 2 people.

Wow wow. One of the most memorable restaurants I’ve ever been to, and definitely the top restaurant for me in London. Me and my mom ordered a tasting of a variety of dim sums, as well as a duck salad. We also tasted two mooncakes for dessert as it was a special for the Chinese new year. We loved everything. The different textures and flavours of every dumpling, the quality of each one. It was spectacular in my opinion and for now the closest ill ever be to authentic Chinese cuisine. I dream of going back to London just to go to Yauatcha again :)

What a fabulous meal we all had for my brother in law’s 50th birthday! We took six guests with us who had never been to this culinary delight in Soho. Lisa was our hostess and she and Kumar made our special evening flawless. Their attention and clear enthusiasm for what they do shone through. All of the classic dishes nailed it. Lobster Caviar dim sum, tasty prawn toast and the epic duck salad were incredible.

Imagine going into a restaurant serving “har gau 蝦餃” for dim sum and charging 12 pounds and what shows up is 3 small ones. This restaurant MUST be having a laugh. We would never come back here.

Yautcha has left me absolutely speechless. This amazing luxury Chinese restaurant features stunning visuals and atmosphere, Jaw dropping service, but that all pales in comparison to the food. The food is ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!! The crispy Peking duck is amazing, every single thing in that dish is absolutely perfectThe Singapore noodles are stunning, transporting me right back to Singapore. I live in a different continent to this yet I am still dreaming about this place, and planning my trip back. If you haven’t been here before, DROP EVERYTHING AND GO NOW! This might be the best restaurant I have ever visited! If I could give it more than five stars, I would.

Visitamos o restaurante Yauatcha Soho em 28 de dezembro de 2023. Restaurante bem aconchegante e romântico para um jantar a dois. Luzes baixas e iluminação de vela nas mesas. Pedimos algumas entradas, pratos, vinho e sobremesa no final. Os pratos realmente são muito bons e bem elaborados. Porém, prepare o bolso. O que tem de bom tem de caro. Mas recomendo e voltarei em uma próxima oportunidade.

The food was really good and with generous portions! However, the place looked a bit neglected and "cold", also the chairs where broken and the service was slow. Our cocktails were served after the food and definitely some people of the staff seemed unprepared/not knowing the menu. As I said, the food was nice and the desserts too, but unfortunately my friends told me they wrote it was a birthday on the reservation email and they had to remember it to the waitress the same day, however we never recived a birthday dessert or a candle. They just forgot probably. A bit disappointing for the place and for the pricing.

The serving staff kept leaning over me and the whole table disrupting conversations when there was ample room to walk around the table this is not good service it ruined the whole experience. But the the food was great !

We arrived as a group of 11, which caught the staff off guard. After we got seated and settled, everything was fine! The food was tremendous, although smaller dim sum portions for the dollar amount. This is a higher-end dim sum restaurant, so expect that. All-in-all, a great experience.

Absolutely LOVED it. Never even heard of it before booking and we were both delighted. We did the harmony taster menu and every dish was delicious. Favourites were the lobster, the beef and the little chocolate desert. Highly recommend.

It’s a nice underground place in Soho offering nice gourmet Asian food; the service is great with a very friendly and professional staff. However the portion sizes is rather small relatively to the pricing. The venue itself is very well decorated with excellent cutlery but quite noisy.

I’m a little concerned, I wonder if they’ve changed management or did we just go at a weird time? I had lunch there for my sisters birthday. We had the “fragrant” rice which is usually an edamame rice which has a slight green color to it, as in really pale green because of the beans but this time the rice was a bright green like they had put food colouring in it. It was so bad, it didn’t taste like it used to, the pancakes that usually come with the duck are always so good but this time they had an odd texture, then the sweet and sour pork, it wasn’t the same either. The waiting staff were also not what we are used to, they were rushing us and made it seem like we were bothering them when we asked for more time. I’ve been going to Yauatcha for 8 years and this was my first bad experience and I’m hoping it was just a one off because I love the restaurant.

Bit disappointed tbh. The food was fine but really wasn't good enough to justify the very high prices. And when it's full and the DJ is banging out his chilled beats, you can't really have a conversation across the table. Maybe I'm just too old for this sort of thing. Service was very good though.

We thoroughly enjoyed every dish at your restaurant, especially appreciating the abundance of vegan choices. The standout was undoubtedly the delightful 'Pecan & Persimmon' dessert. Some of the most well presented, flavoursome, appealing chines starters and mains ever. The Dim Sum were spectacular. Shredded duck and pancakes magnificent. The lobster tail main was out of this world.

Solid. The char siu bao bun was mouthwatering - the prawn and bean curd cheung fun was delicious too. The scallop shui mai was disappointing, but the service was great throughout. You get a complimentary cocktail per head if you book through Amex too

Overall just a very meh experience. The food was alright, the service was okay. But at a price point of £140 per person (if you order the Harmony set menu) you really expect a lot better for your money. You and you wallet would be better off going somewhere in China town or trying your hand at home.

Food and service along with drinks was very good. Had to move from 1st place we sat because a speaker above us was too loud and we could not hear ourselves talk. Upstairs was much better although where we were sat was cold when the front door was open. This place is quite expensive so be prepared for that.

First time coming with high expectations but disappointed! Their water cup and bowl placed on the table were dirty and I had to ask the waitress to have them changed. The food was good but overpriced.

Great dining experience. The food is amazing. Nicole the waiter was very patient and looked after us very well. We will be back. P.S. Had to update my review after our second visit on the 30th of January 2023 between 17:00 and 19:00. Service was below average. very superficial service (e.g. pouring water for 1 person and not another, not knowing the menu, clearing table pub-style) the food was served with big time gaps between dishes, generally cooked and spiced well, but deep fried meals were oozing with oil.

We booked here as an inbetween week treat, the setting is lovely! Great feel and atmosphere. The food was delicious and the portion sizes were very generous. Our waiter Kanitta was exceptional and really made our day special. I have taken a star off as I eat meat and my wife is a vegetarian. As a result, we couldn't each do a taster menu. We could only do the vegetarian taster menu. They do a single vegetarian taster menu, but not a meat one (2 person minimum). I was offered a starter and a main, but I wanted to do a taster menu. This is the first restaurant I have been to where we haven't been able to do separate taster menus. It was disappointing, as other than this it was a superb experience.

Es un sitio muy bonito, parece nuevo. Sin duda volvería a pedir el crujiente de pato con unas tortitas, es el plato que más me gustó. Toda la comida estaba bastante buena, los bao de cerdo con miel simplemente son espectaculares. Está muy bien ubicado en el Soho. Es uno de los restaurantes al que quieres volver otra vez, la atención del servicio con los detalles fue fantástica. No puedo decir nada malo porque la verdad es que todo fue increíble. Está vez no pudimos pedir postre porque estábamos muy llenos, las raciones son bastante generosas. Tengo la excusa perfecta para volver a cenar y pedir postre.

Saw the good review on google and decided to give a try. Har gao and siew mai is okay, stir fried veg there’s flavor. They Kuey Yeow and cheung fun was really good. Down side was the waitress was very impatient with us, we just ask 1 question. Have to ask 2 times for chili sauce. however very friendly and attentive with other customer. Will appreciate if the same service level is given to all customers.

Brought a large group of friends here for the third time. Nice food, impersonal and unattended service, noisy venue. Also quite uncomfortable chairs/sofas. Desert was impossible to share in an elegant way between the 6 of us. A place that used to be amazing but has unfortunately lost its charm and attention to the experience completely. Feels a bit like a tourist trap.

EDITING be aware if you do online reservation, in case you need to cancel it: I did a reservation online for lunch, then I did try to cancel, by calling directly the Soho restaurant, stayed long time on hold, waiting for my time to talk with someone....... mission impossible, they diverted me at the answer machine, where I left 2 voice message said that i would cancel my reservation, my name etc etc then I wrote an email with my reservation, name etc etc, to be sure........ Everything in less than an hour........ despite that I NEVER receive the confirmation email for the original reservation nor for the cancellation, THEY JUST TOOK 200£ from my card, UPDATE thanks for the manager answer, and full refund as arrived! feeling better about you guys

Locale elegante ( in cui eravamo stati diverse volte in passato) e personale mediamente gentile. In due abbiamo preso degli antipasti e fin qui tutto bene. Come portata principale abbiamo ordinato un’anatra intera al costo di 148 sterline che ci hanno fatto vedere cucinata ma che non abbiamo mangiato . Ci hanno servito solo la pelle su una sorta di tartine. l’ anatra ci è stata mostrata intera e successivamente riportata in cucina, dicendoci che sarebbe stata preparata come second course. Al suo posto hanno servito una insalata di ananas e carote a cubetti con particelle infinitesime di anatra. In definitiva L’ anatra è rimasta in cucina …. Abbiamo protestato e il maitre ci ha spiegato che quello è il loro modo di servirla, e consegnandoci un biglietto da visita con tanto di numero di cellulare ci dice di contattarlo per le prossime volte per avere un migliore trattamento in quanto si occuperebbe lui di noi. In poche parole una truffa bella e buona, in quanto paghi una anatra solo per guardarla!!!! Sconsigliatissimo perché non solo è molto caro, ma esci fuori sapendo di essere stato imbrogliato. Mai più!

Cibo buono, ma complessivamente il voto non può essere maggiore di tre, per un ristorante stellato perché mancano le piccole attenzioni e la cura del cliente che ti aspetteresti

As a former Londoner, coming back was such a delight. Having lived in Asia and spent a lot of time there, still my favourite dim sum place on earth and favourite restaurant in London. So “clean” as far as dim sum goes, almost sushi like. Creative, delicious, great combinations (and unusual). Can’t recommend enough.

Ate here for my wife’s 30th birthday, and although it is definitely quite expensive for us, it was well worth it. The food was incredible, some of the best I’ve ever had, especially the baked dim sum. We had the harmony set menu, every course was delicious, including the delicious cocktails, and we took home what we couldn’t eat. Staff were brilliant and very attentive and friendly. Honestly couldn’t fault it.

Allez-y ! L’expérience est dingue. Équipe au top et ultra professionnelle, tout le monde est attentionné. Très belle carte. Nous avons opté pour un menu à 68£ pp, afin de nous laisser porter par l’expérience et afin de découvrir des spécialités. Super ! Des goûts très raffinés et belles présentations. Et puis il y a un comptoir « petits gâteaux », délicieux ! C’est un concept qui tourne bien et où tout est super bien organisé. Petit bémol, c’est assez bruyant et les prix sont assez élevés, mais l’expérience en vaut la peine. Trop d’autres spécialités à goûter, nous devons donc y retourner !

Been at a different branch before with my company but the service for individual reservation was second to none. Obviously with a company outing personalised waitressing is more difficult, but they did a great job in both scenarios, with Mamun being a stand-out waiter. Reacting to minor micro-expressions and even my accidental tapping of the martini glass against the plate he provided excellent service, the kind of which I've only had at Michelin star restaurants. In terms of Dim Sum (we had little else, it was so great) my definite favorites are the Wagyu beef puff, Venison Puff, Scallop shui mai and Edamame Truffle dumpling with no clear winner. Drinks were also excellent, between extremely attentive water refills (again A+ to the waiters), an extremely fitting Szechuan Martini for the heavier meat Dim Sum and either the Pandan Sour or Oolong Punch for the lighter, vegetarian dishes (though the pandan sour also works great for meat dishes as a pallette cleanser) the house special cocktails were an absolute hit as well. The desert was a perfect balance of sour and sweet, I got the Spiky Lemon, and found it extremely balanced for my taste Overall - you get what you pay for, excellent food, service and drinks for decent prices. We spent just under 100£ per person

This place is nothing short of amazing and this is by far the best tea in London. We sat at the bar drinking tea, which felt strange and cool at the same time. The service was incredible, the staff helped us with our choice of tea. This is the second time I've visited here and received fantastic service on both occasions. The deserts look outstanding and very tempting. There is a 13.5 percent service charge here but the service is honestly worth it.

The food was rather nice and rather hot. The tea selection is ranged and worth trying. Staff were attentive and they have a wonderful selection of desserts. The venison puffs are tasty.

Food quality was 8/10, great at the spot but both me and the other person didn’t feel great afterward. Service was not excellent, quite uninterested/not matching the vibe (they were rushing us to leave and brought us the check although we didn’t ask for it with the machine to pay, and we still had half an hour in our reservation time). They were accommodating as we asked to be moved from downstairs to upstairs as it was loud, but upstairs the table are so close one to the other that it doesn’t feel intimate at all. I would go back for the food because I think it’s a great Chinese but not for the service/ environment. Also the guy at the door is really not welcoming.

Good food but staff is very rushed. Did not have time to finish menu. We were eating desert and the bill was already on the table. We could not enjoy the food and relax.
