Yates in East Lindsey

Came in for some fish and chips was served by Kez whose customer service was the best we had been given since visiting Skegness. Served frequently by a younger gentleman called Callum again excellent service.

Ordered a drink from the large set blonde gentlemen at the door, served quickly and efficiently. Well mannered and smart.

clean food. huge portions, clean tables. CHIPS lovely.burger you can not fault.staff lovely. change in our hands when we paid for our meal. what you see is what you get. try it, eat there, have a drink., relax

The breakfast was just what you would expect from a Yates bar. Reasonable in price and value for money will be sure to have breakfast hear again as cant fault the food or service.

Visited pub today as a group of six people. Found a table pretty quick.Table was a little sticky from previous people sitting there.Went to bar to order food and drink. No issues with ordering and hot meal with 10 mins of waiting.Nice view over swimming poolGood value and no issues with food or drink. Food was served hot and no food was wasted. Would use again

Food seemed to be microwaved and tasteless , good atmosphere though and friendly staff. Just poor food quality. Would only come back for drinks and the foods not worth the price

We love to go in this pub since it's been done up. We are a loyalty card holder so get drinks cheaper. The food is delicious we had a sharing plank I was astonished at how big in length the plank was and it's heavy too. The decor is nice. All the staff are friendly.

Decor was bright and fresh. Drinks and food were reasonably priced. The food was average but edible. The staff were friendly. The toilets are a bit of a trek (long corridors and a couple of flights of stairs).

We had heard bad reviews when it was Yates so avoided it. Following the refurbishment we spoke about visiting despite being very sceptical. So the day came and we visited with friends it was lovely. The interior is very inviting and cosy. The staff are friendly. The food was delicious especially the rhubarb and custard slice with lemon sorbet. I'd never tried sorbet but enjoyed it. Drink prices are not too bad especially if you can get a loyalty card. We will definitely come again.

Now open after a refurb and the inside is nice and clean with new furniture. It looks inviting. Although We only went in for drinks - having already eaten, drink prices are reasonable and a good selection. Very friendly staff and served quickly. Next time will try the food menu.

As the title says, this pub is exactly what you expect it to be. The location is nice and overlooks a swimming pool next door and is right in the centre of Skegness, yards away from the clock tower. Beers are reasonably priced and they have many offers on. We have always found the food to be typical pub grub and its well priced too. Decent sized menu and food always served swiftly and hot. Lots if TV's in here as well to watch live sport if that's your thing

Skegness isn't exactly known to be a real ale town, so I wasn't surprised that one two(!) pubs listed as Casque Marque is a Yates - the other one's a Spoon. The location is actually nice, with limited outside seating. Décor wise,... Well, it's a Yates. Staff were reasonably friendly. The food I ordered, alas, turned out to be poor indeed. A mixed grill: The steak I had ordered rare was well-done, and burnt on the outside. The chicken was dry as dust, the gammon okay, as were the onion rings. The fries had barely seen the inside of the fryer and were soft and flabby. The presentation wasn't exactly inviting either (see photo). I had had a mixed grill for a similar price at a place called The Bank in Nottingham two days earlier - no comparison. I'd say this food is below Spoon standard, which should tell you a lot. So, go there for the location and the decently priced beers, not for the food.

Decided to eat there because it was near by. Drinks ok at reasonable prices. Food mediocre. main problem the place was dirty looking & tables very sticky & dirty.

Stopped off for lunch and had cocktails (2 4 1) - food was nice and service good - mind you there were not many people in at the time we were there.

We spent a couple of nights at Skegness. Eating a little bit limited due to it being end of season. First night we called at Yates for our tea. Very tasty.

Visited whilst on a break to Skegness with family. Loved the atmosphere straight away, the staff was really friendly, very chatty. Drinks were very reasonable. Visited a few nights, Thursday had a fab offer on with Vodka, Smirnoff Ice and a few other drinks all for £1.50 which was great. DJ on Thurs too playing a lot of old music, loved it!!

A quick morning visit. Well impressed with the service and the food. My granddaughter & daughter scoffed the lot. The manor of the staff, fantastic. Well done keep up the good work!

Ideal for a cool beer and a meal, good location next to the embassy theatre and sport on tv if required.

We spent almost 40 minutes waiting to place our Food order as they only use one till for ordering food, (a new "streamlined system" which clearly does not work and when the food arrived it was poor value. for money and clearly microwaved. I will not be using this venue again to eat, especially as there are a variety of other options nearby.I felt a little sorry for the staff who clearly were uncomfortable with this new system and tried their utmost.

Just spent the weekend in Skegness and wanted value meals so had breakfast Sunday and Monday, good value at £3.45 each only slight criticism the baked beans on both occasions were cold, surprising on the last day as we were the only ones in there so you would have expected everything being cooked fresh and served hot.

We are here on holiday and called into Yates for something for tea. It was around 7.15pm and it was busy. I ordered at the bar which was all fine although this took some time as only one till was taking food orders. Apprantly this was to make it more efficient. I think it just made the whole process a lot longer than it did. We then sat for a good 45 minutes if not longer waiting for our food with no warning at the till that there was going to be a long wait for food. I went back to the bar to chase up our food and stood for another 10 minutes why I was blatantly ignored by staff. At least three walked past at the time. When I asked how long our food order would be the guy behind the bar asked when we ordered. I told him close to 50 minutes and his reply was "surely not". He look at the ordering screen and said it would he out shortly. Another 10 minutes went by before our food came out. So over an hour's wait for something that was "ok" for the price we paid. Unfortunately Yates has gone down in my estimation. This branch certainly needs more staff to serve at the bar and to clear tables. The photo is of the table next to us that sat like this for a good half an hour. Another couple had to move plates and glasses to sit at the table they wanted. Such a shame as I always thought Yates was a bit higher class to the Wetherspoons chain.

Cheap and good service here but can be difficult to get a table, worth the wait .... staff were friendly and service we quite quick would visit again

Visited a few weeks ago with my partner whilst on holiday in Skegness. Staff all friendly ,

Customer service was diabolical, mangers no help at all, spent £34 on meal which included a cornish paste you couldn't get a knife through it, left half of the ultimate combo garlic bread was barely cooked nachos was cold. Only returned £7.50 of this order, asked for a manger who wasnt management. Talked to us like dirt on their shoes. Staff said its company policy they couldn't give us more than £7.50 because we touched our food well you wouldn't know if your food was cooked or tasted okay without touching the food stupid comment the couple behind us said we didn't even have half of this so called meal. This is beyond disgusting service and food. Don't not visit this pub. Rant over!

Decent quality food, at a reasonable price, good service, friendly staff, all you would normally expect from a Yates.

Went for a fag at half time, left our drinks on the table whilst we went for a fag to save the table, came back to 2 3/4 pints cleared away (we'd been gone for 5 mins) came back and told the bar staff and were essentially told tough. Half a***d apology after we'd paid for another round. Try a bit of customer service!!!

We went to Yates in Skegness because of the variety of food so we settled our selves at a table which had just been vacated and still filled with plates which was OK we expected it to be cleared but it wasn't we had to go to the bar and ask them to clear the table but it didn't help until we started clearing it ourselves we showed them the mess on the floor we got a grunt. They forgot one of our meals and a rare steak was cold so it was sent back, it was returned to us by a different person who actually apologised. The staff didn't seem to care.

Big turn off - sticky tables and floors. Food was fine, didn’t have long to wait, as the place was quite busy.

Had weekend with my partner in Skegness . Lovely beach and seafront during the day . We went to Yates for a drink . Everything was fine up till 10 o’clock then trouble began. Fighting , drug deals , were just two activities we witnessed in Yates wine bar. So we left promptly. This happened in the beer / outside bar area. The young guy behind the bar was a star and a good barman , but the customers were something else . We went for a lively night out , but this was a road too far. Stay away if you’re over 25 for you’re own safety

Popped in here, with the family for a quick lunch. Had been here a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it then. Unfortunately this time was different.Sat at a table and that was when we should have left. The table was sticky, so we gave it a wipe and thee baby wipes we used ended up covered in some brown gunk. Trying, to not let that put us off we order our food and drinks. The cola was flat and our starter was delivered at the same time as the main meal. The chips were awful and the fish I had was only crispy due to the number of times it looked to have been cooked. It was that bad I couldn't even finish it, which is saying something.

To be fair..a girl did come around cleaning tables that were already clean. I just had to clean ours ourself and we were there before she got there. Food was typical yates, drinks were good and it was nice and cool :)

Food, Drink, staff all excellent. The kids meals are outstanding value. Everyone was friendly. Tables cleared constantly. The tables where sticky but they were clean. If you use your common sense it’s the varnish that’s tacky as it’s only the tables in direct sunlight in the conservatory bit. The staff do really well here considering some of the mess families leave behind is disgusting. I saw the manager have to pick a dirty nappy up from under a table. I take my hat off to her not asking the staff to do it.

I mainly like to give praise where it's due from places I have visited but this place is absolutely disgusting me and my family and friends went here on the 1st for a Sunday afternoon drink and something to eat as we had been here before.

We had a few drinks in here but only 1 meal. They were busy but after waiting 40 mins, the time we were told the food would take,I was told my meal wasn't available. After re ordering we waited another 20 mins and it was nothing special.There doesn't appear to be any staff to clear tables. I saw new customers clearing plates and glasses so they could use the tables.

Lovely Coors lite. Good prices. Also ate 2 for £10.25. The Tikka was lovely but the steak pie was a bit dry. Lovely tce to sit in the sun.

Yates is what it is. It's a sort of McDonald's of pubs - you sort of know what to expect. The usual selection of burger and chips type menu etc and normally you are perfectly safe with this kind of set up. However - I am sat in Yates right now. It looks like it could do with a good clean!. I came in and ordered a pink gin with diet lemonade and a black coffee. I was presented with the pink gin and a white coffee. Normally I would have settled for that but the obvious pink lipstick all over the side of the filthy coffee cup really wasn't my colour so I took it back and actually got a black coffee in a clean cup. Then we thought we would have a bite to eat. Current diet demands meant it was a some jacket potato and beans for both of us. The Mrs went and ordered them and came back telling me that they don't actually do diet lemonade.... so thanks to the barman for the pink gin and diet lemonade I asked for in the first place. He actually managed to get 2 out of 2 drinks wrong!

Have eaten in a Yates wine bar before, but this visit was not the best. Waited an hour for lunch despite asking several times if it was in its way. They weren't exactly full to capacity but it seemed the kitchen was in an awful mess and very confused over who ordered first. Food was 'ok'...

a wide and varied menu , not the very cheapest in town but worth every penny. steak pie to die for as was the burgers

Clean and inviting atmosphere. Plenty of seating indoors and an outdoor veranda with sea view. Toilets were of excellent standard and very nicely decorated.

Went with husband and kids for lunch. Dirty tables, slow service. Carpets filthy and covered in food and garbage. Food took ages to arrive

Come on Yates you can do better than this. The bar is in a great location but definitely needs a refurb an abit of TLC!

We had breakfast at Yates on Friday morning. It was fairly quiet, but decent atmosphere.

Good place to eat for families with 2 for 1 deals. Service was quick and the food was very good. In the centre of town the location is great for having a Meal before or after entertainment

Called in for a coffee, ordered 2 lattes a bacon sandwich for hubby and I had the Bramley Apple Toffee Crumble. The food was just excellent, Tony enjoyed his and I just loved mine. The service was great and food served with a smile.

The man behind the bar had no idea how to serve our drink. Warm flat lager served in a beer glass and after we complained the second drink was not much better.

Me and the wife came to skegness for a few days away during the week. We spotted a yates and immediately walked in. Sat down on a lovely clean table, menus were clean etc. Went to the bar to order some food and drinks, I had a chicken tikka and my wife had the bbq chicken melt, both amazing taste wise, we cleared our plates. Portion size was great. My wife had cocktails, which was made by Cain I think his name was. She really enjoyed them. Will be returning.

Lunch with family here. Absolutely the worst food we all have ever eaten. Had Sunday roast. Beef could repair shoes with. Frozen soggy vegetables - frozen roast potato’s and smash for mash. Disgusting food!!!!!! Never again.

Had the best night in here, free to get in decent drinks offers, friendly door staff, fast bar staff and a proper DJ who interacts with guests and plays requests, defo worth a visit

Went here for breakfast on a Wednesday morning. When our food was brought over to us it was cold and the fried egg was hard! Not a great experience I’m afraid. Won’t be returning for food.

This isn't bad just typical Yates but nice location and handy for embassy theatre.the toilets are a fair distance away though nice and clean.breakfast nice.had a horrible burger once though the bap was terrible I bit into it and bap just broke into about 10 pieces.drinks are good with an excellent variety.bit annoying though when your having a peaceful meal then all if a sudden very loud football comes on

Popped in for lunch and we had a sandwich deal which included a drink for £7.95 large subs with various fillings and wine was smashing! Highly recommended.

Though the food was ok and we suppose value for money with the drinks in with the price of the meal. I wouldn't recommend the Steak philley baggett! the steak meat was very grisseley and tough, couldn't even bite through it! The cheese on the baggett was non existent.

Really rubbish quality food. Awful service including not bringing all dinners out. Missing food. Burnt chips, appalling amounts. Ordered 2 of the same meals (curry) and one meal came with more food and quantities than the other one?? Crazy! Never again

Me and my family went on a holiday to skegness and I ment up with a friend who was with her family on holiday for a night out. We started off in a restaurant next to Yates then went to Yates. The cocktails were fantastic and sold in big jugs and cheap. Had a dance floor and sells pub grub. Love it!

It's nothing to shout about when you go home, but it won't leave you dissatisfied. You will probably talk for a whole two minutes after you meal

Having just arrived for the day in Skegness thought we would pop in for coffee. Only 3 people in, already served. Waited at the counter for service 5 minutes as two staff were too busy talking and on their phones to even bother to acknowledge we were there. So departed to Macdonalds. Nice cup of coffee and cheaper.

We are regular visitors to the Yates and Wetherspoons and generally budget places. We only expect clean premises, polite and friendly staff and reasonable quality food. We have been to this bar many times before (litten tree) and found it more than acceptable. On this occasion, out of season and the pub almost empty we found the place dirty with sticky tables and menus. Not a lot of excuses here as there were staff with nothing to do; so get a bucket of soapy water, clean the tables and surfaces, change the water regularly and pay attention to under the table edges. Sat at a table and stuck to the surface and on looking round most of the tables were the same. Pretty scummy, dirty and plenty of food on the menus (not choices I mean). Even if it's only the manager working, get a cloth, rope in the cook as they are not doing much either and clean the place up. Will try the place again at our next visit to Skegness and will review again. The 2 stars were for the bit that was good, friendly staff, didn't risk the food given the state of the place.

Had lager here we only had one pint as it didn't taste right ,felt like the dregs off the bottom of a barrel ,I've used Yates all over and this is first time lager didn't taste right ,very large bar very comfortable was very quiet tho when we visited,

venue was good, presentation was well done and attended, the people who had special dietary needs were well fed and food kept separate and handed to them which was an excellent service, food for the rest of the people at the presentation was laid out on the bar, and was short in supply, catered for 150 including special dietary meaning food for 140 and think this is giving them extra as am sure wasn't that many SD, and including these SD only 125 attended so should have been a surplus of food for the at least extra 15 + catered for, now the people first in the line didn't seem to take an excessive amount of food or even a plateful of any one sort of food, but the people at the back of the line were left with bits of salad odd sausage rolls and not a lot else, we were left with scraps ! well fast forward a little time and they bring out some puddings, cream cakes portioned well and then a tray of white plastic cups that looked like they had tinned fruit salad in, nothing wrong with that till you ate the fruit and cold rice pudding stuff was under it - disgusting - something I have never seen at a presentation before and never wish too again, service from the bar staff for drinks was good they were polite and helpful but the food was such a let down to a very good night

When in has seeing show next door attracted by meal deal. Sat at a table that wasn't mucky just had not being wiped recently, examined menu cards that were in same condition. Went to order meal at till young man Ross who seemed to be trying to operate three areas of bar on his own took my order ( To be fair to Ross he was good at observing when customers came to the different tills and did try to serve us in turn) but why did he have no help, I observed one chap who appeared to be a manager wandering about doing nowt. Got my meal steak and ale pie, sorry just over seasoned chunks of meat far to peppery, frozen peas, I know they were frozen they were still cold but the good news the chips were actually chips and not french fries. The wifes burger she said it was allright which means it wasn't that good either. Sorry guys not impressed and probably will avoid in future. On a positive promote Ross he is good at his job or at least get someone to help him.

Good service, nice staff, awful food!

Went here with a Work colleague. I wasn’t expecting much from a run of the mill chain pub.

Decided to pop in and have food before we went to theatre. The girl behind bar who served us was very friendly and nice, but she went off shift and things went downhill from there. Our food arrived in good time but the chips in a mug were stone cold, asked the girl walking round if we could have some more and she said she would sort it in a minute, and proceeded to go and talk to another table. The chips returned about 5 mins later and by that time we had finished our burgers or they would have gone cold, tbh it looked like our original chips were put back in fryer as although they were piping hot they were then very hard and dark. We received no apology and when the girl came and collected our plates she never even bothered asking if all had been okay since the chips. Don't think will be rushing back, it was not busy so no excuses. The hand dryers in mens were not working one was hanging off wall and didn't look like it was a recent thing and there was no other way of drying hands.

Absolutely gorgeous food and lovely atmosphere and fantastic customer service! The food and drink came quick and the service we received was lovely

This was the second time we visited this restaurant. The cleanliness had not improved. I hoped that being out of season, and not so busy, that it would be clean. EVERYTHING I touched was sticky. I had to ask for the table to be wiped. It was covered in beer. We did not wait long for our food and the drinks were collected at the bar when we ordered. The food was excellent. It needs to close and be given a deep clean. The bar staff were lovely.

After coming here last year alone and loving it I came back a few more times (with friends and alone) well I came back in july with a friend and had a great time then I came back a couple weeks ago on my own just for a bubblegum cocktail. Since I was buying a lot of bubblegum vodka drinks the kind bar man I think his name was Matt or James I cant remember told me how to make it. Thank you kind bar man for telling me you really have made my life. Since I had half blue and pink hair im sure they will know who I am :D

we went for our silver wedding anniversary meal,great pub,great beer,even better food,we had the combo to start,smothered steak with peppercorn sauce for main and profiteroles for pudding,very nice,would def go again,loved it,the plates were full and i was stuffed,you can't ask for anything more.

Visited today, lunch and service was pretty poor. Sweet potato fries a funny looking grey colour - didn't taste particularly great. Couldn't bring it up as no check back made at all. Sandwich was OK. Beer flat and served in cloudy glasses that looked unclean. All in all, pretty disappointing.

We popped in for a quick drink and some lunch. The beer was nice and the food was ok for what it waa. However in a couple of instances the portions were miserly (curry was 3 pieces of chicken and jacket potato was tiny).The actual premises were poor. The tables were dirty and the floor was sticky. The toilets were even worse, broken doors, broken toilet paper dispensers, no soap, toilet paper strewn around. I'd expect that at 2am on a Friday night, but not 1pm on a Sunday afternoon.I don't blame the bar staff, they looked severely overworked and understaffed for the number of customers in the place.

Went for a lunchtime meal. Pleasant hubbub of diners and drinkers. Served very quickly with a separate gluten free menu. The waiting staff gave me every reassurance that the gluten free meal would not be contaminated. All of the food was well presented and cleared when finished. This was my first time of eating here and I would definitely go back.

Nice atmosphere, great service the cocktail are highy recommended. They did put the lights down too low its nice to be able see other people.

Had to clear/clean own table, only reason persevered had 4 tired grandkids in a rush to eat. Kids menu acceptable, even the meal deals not worth the price. Undermanning at the bar only added to the negative experience . Skegness is so full of eateries that they really should try harder to make the effort.

Popped in for some lunch on the recent bank holiday. It wasn't too busy & we easily found a table in a quiet corner. Thats the good bit over!There was left over food all over the floor,the chair I sat on nearly broke so I had to swap it from another table. The menus were grubby,tatty & covered in sauce. The staff at the bar were more interested in dealing with some lemonade issue than taking our order.Our food arrived fairly quickly,steak pie with chips & peas & chilli with nachos & rice. My pie had a little food label stuck to it that I didn't notice until I had started eating it but I was really hungry so I carried on,it was all very average to be honest & that's being kind. My partners chilli,nachos & rice definitely had the emphasis on the nachos & not the chilli as there was probably a couple of table spoons full of it at most. While we were there we used the toilet facilities that again were in need of some attention as they were tired & grubby. The whole place had a feel of somewhere that wasn't being maintained & looked after. I notice that some other reviews rate this quite highly but I suppose it depends on your standards & expectations.If I ever return to Skegness( which is highly unlikely ) I would look for somewhere else other than this place to eat as I'm sure there must be something better.

we called in for a quick drink over the bank holiday. the prices for a pint of johns smith and chardannay was very good . but my wine didnt look quite right it had like a film floating on top. it tasted fine but a bit off putting not sure if the glass had'nt been cleaned properly ot the wine that was from already opened bottl was starting to go off.

A pub in the Wetherstones style serving good food at reasonable prices. Family friendly and plenty of tv's showing sport for those who need to watch and eat. We ate there three times and the staff were always friendly and the food arrived quickly. Sadly on each visit, trying to find a table that wasn't littered with previous occupants left overs was nigh on impossible. Strangely, although a pub of some size, it ran out of some products. Not obscure items but scotch whisky and bottles of Merlot.

Popped in twice. First visit sat inside. I ordered a Cocktail and a Coffee and a Pepsi. Coffee was brought over to your table. It was nice. Quite busy. Second visit on the last day we sat outside in the lovely sunshine that was lovely. Would go again but just for drinks.

I came here for a meal last week, and it was very enjoyable. Being a Yates, you know what's on the menu (same as every other branch), but excellent value and pretty good quality. The bar was busy , but service was very rapid.

Every day trip to skeg starts here with a full fry up. The kids get a bacon or sausage sandwich and the price is fair. It cost us approximately £18 for a family of 5 all had a pot of tea each 2 full breakfasts and 3 breakfast sandwiches.

Been here a few times in the past - always good. Tonight I walked in to find most empty tables full of previous customer's leftovers and dirty glasses. I found one table with nothing on it so I ordered and was soon eating a good tasty burger. One point I make to managers of this type of restaurant is that if you serve a portion of chips in a coffee mug then it might be an interesting touch, but it will be a small portion of chips - why be mean with a cheap element of a dish? Bigger portions of chips please! The extra onion rings (also served in a coffee mug) were excellent! Overall a good place to eat in Skegness.

Food was cheap and cheerful. Two curries for a tenner if i remember right and to be honest it was lovely. Drink prices are standard to be honest and the service was always good when we visited.

Visited for a meal prior to a show. Tables dirty as were the seats. Only one person serving behind counter, not exceptionally busy but he didn't acknowledge customer, after a long wait, left and went to chippy across the road for better service. This in the past has been a good venue but not on this occasion.
