I came here as the restaurant that I would normally eat at was closed so I ended up here after noticing ready made meals from the window. The two older ladies were really rude as one of them muttered about me in their own language whilst I was asking about the meals. I felt there was a tinge of racism to their tone as neither of them shown any respect to me whilst I ordered two meals at a cost of £12. There was no please or thanks. When it came to eating the meals - one was lamb and chickpeas - really bland and just a bit of meat, and it was very watery. The meatball and roasted veg and potato was similarly bland and watery and meatball was dry with bitty texture. Yuk!!! Please do not go to this place as they do not cook well, nor show any sense of customer service. Horrid experience. I had to give one star before being able to submit the post. But it should be MINUS 5 stars.

I work in the school behind the high street and this place makes my day! The ladies who run this cafe are like family and they make you feel really well taken care of. The food is fresh, healthy and unbelievably delicious. They cook from the heart and it is always spectacular. Some of the best baklava in London too Bring your mum, your wife, your kids and your dog!

Went there the other day disappointed with one member of staff in particular extremely rude. Said the pastry will be ready in 2 mins we waited 15 mins. Another member of staff told her we have been waiting and she responded they can wait. So rude. Also was said in my language so they thought I could not understand. I understood everything! I ended up walking out and not buying anything

Went there to get some savoury pastries, I ordered some lahmajun, Turkish pizzas. The lady behind the counter literally sneezed on the back of her hand while holding the pizza’s not once but twice. I told her I didn’t want them and calmly told her why. She told me to stay home if I didn’t want germs.. so basically eat my boogie and shut up..I know this place since 2000 but won’t be going there ever again.

Bread get mould very fast . In 3 days get mould . I buy bread from another place it didn't get mould

Mould on food, disgusting. Staff are rude and don't give a damn. No refund, no apology. Just walked away Wouldn't go there if you paid me

Not sure what these negative critics are going on about: this is an authentic no-frills shop with a family business feel.

Everything we have bought, one different occasions, has been really third rate. Rotten onions, tasteless peaches, nutritionless peas, off jars of food, and salad that deteriorates in a day. I think this is a good indication of somewhere that doesn't know what they are doing, and doesn't care.

Really disappointed that this place doesn't think its appropriate to employ Covid policy for its staff. No masks, no barriers and no explanation. There is also always refuse being stored openly, and broken glass outside. It feels like a hazardous place and its a sign of people that don't understand their responsibility to the public

Bought 2 sausage rolls at £1.90 each. Totally tasteless. Staff should know what they sell , should be sausage meat in puff pastry. Not hard pastry surrounding a small single hot dog . More air inside than the hot . So vile had to throw the processed crap in bin . What a rip off ! Hope it closes down or vastly improves . Avoid !!

Is this what we think is good enough? Different era.... Refuse stored for days with open food? Marketing done by an enthusiastic child? Covid-19 strategy of "What?" Please don't. Not in this area.

Turkish people are known for their hospitality and delicious food. Sadly, I got neither here. For the food, the pastry was so so greasy, dropping oil essentially. The cheese in it wasn't of great quality either (maybe it wasn't fresh?). My stomach hurt for the rest of the day after we left and I had serious heartburn from the grease. I felt ill and my day was ruined. This terrible food was preceded by a terrible treatment. They don't have tags on the foods on the counter so I asked a few questions as to what they were. How dare I? The server lady got impatient almost immediately and in a very rude tone told me to look at the queue (there were only two people behind me...). I was very polite so it really dragged me down to be treated that way because I didn't deserve it (forget about friendliness, I'd have taken neutral). I hadn't thought of the racism angle to be honest, but many other reviewers here suspected this and said they are much more polite to white people. Shame. I have endured crappy service for good food in the past, but given that's not to be found here - I won't be going back!

This place is lead by people who do not know what they are doing, and are a risk to the area. (Fairbridge). It is a low-grade operation, bringing no growth or joy to the location. The place is always holding deteriorating produce, full of refuse and cardboard, and run by people with no regard for public health. There is no functioning Covid Policy; employees do not wear a mask and no one is encouraged to. This is all made worse by language "difficulty" and a culture that has no pride or knowledge of food. It is a real desperate issue that yet another place emerges in this area with no idea, no positive effect and no cultural aspirations. It is all part of the colonisation of the area by people with no capability except to exploit an opportunity, negatively. Please do not encourage this place any further and do not shop there. It should be closed due to its disregard for health, and all the other issues noted.

Personal racista, peor experiencia en Green Lanes, mi hermana entró con mis hijos y la señora de cabello gris con anteojos que trabaja cerca del baklava no sabía que somos turcos porque los niños son mestizos y le dijo a sus colegas que salieran del tienda. Así es exactamente como lo dijo en turco. No puedo usar una mascarilla debido a circunstancias de salud.Ella es racista y su equipo fue muy grosero, sin servicio al cliente ni derechos. Ningún gerente o superior disponible para ayudar. Comportamiento repugnante frente a niños menores de edad. Ella se negó a dar su nombre y el resto del personal no ayudó. Hijo de Yasar Halim, Mehmet necesita estar al tanto de la situación. I hear really negative things about this place, with racism arising a lot.In my own experience, there is a bias against non-turkish people.I don't know if its a culture or policy but there are no BAME people employed by the company, and I don't feel encouraged to be there.As all lives matter, I would be pleased to see this company cease.

I have been to this place a few times and am conscious of how negative it is. The ingredients are low grade, and always deteriorating, and the service is frequently unhelpful and graceless. I am not able to recommend any part of it as it is so far behind in it's culture.

BEWARE and check your receipts, today 23rd April 2020 at 11am the cashier nearest to the exit door she added things that was not in my shopping , I counted every item and one item called kafte was on my bill cost 2.50 she added this so she can pocket the 2.50. She’s a new employee. This cashier was in her 50s brown hair people beware check your receipts. She robbed me Crooks if she done this to five customers that’s a £10.00 she pockets..BEWARE

This place used to have good bakery options and friendly staff. However, staff are not interested anymore and the food is appalling. They really have given up. Not so busy anymore.

I went in to try the take away pastries but was ignored by the staff. I waited by the counter,then someone else walked in after me and got served - I left thoroughly disappointed. Poor way to treat customers.

Normalmente visito la sucursal de Palmers Green, que tiene muchas más opciones que todas las demás sucursales. Fui allí por una sugerencia de amigos y también porque vivo en el área. Ella me dijo que los pasteles son muy buenos y los miembros del personal son fantásticos. Bueno, fui allí por 3 o 4 veces y cada vez que el personal era muy grosero. Supongo que están tratando de ser amables con los británicos como mi amigo, mientras que no se preocupan por los demás, no importa lo amables que seas. Te miran muy mal de inmediato cuando entras por la puerta.Eso es una pena, porque está muy cerca de mi casa y los pasteles están bien, pero supongo que nunca me volverán a ver.

We use to go here a lot for our fresh food & cakes, noticed it was going down hill but thought we can visit again yesterday! Bad move!! We brought some ‘fresh cakes’ I asked the lady when they come in she said this morning, they are very fresh. So I brought £18 worth of cakes & baklava’s Come home only to find they were all rock hard, no syrup on them nothing.. olive bread was hard & had hardly any olives in them. Will never ever be returning to this awful place!!

Tried 3 times in two weeks for the traditional sweets. Only one of the four kinds we tried was good. Every single time the staff was not polite. It was like they were doing us a favour by serving us. Once they even made fun of my pronunciation for kataifi.

Estoy muy decepcionado con la mala calidad de los productos alimenticios en Yasar Halim, Green Lanes Palmers Green. En enero, nos vendieron un pastel de cumpleaños "crema fresca" que ya se había apagado antes de que lo compráramos. Era amarillo y apestoso y lo devolvimos al día siguiente, lo que significaba que teníamos un cumpleaños desastroso sin BANQUETE. Debería haberlo sabido mejor porque ayer fui a comprar carne y verduras. Compré seis piezas individuales de Baklava que eran aceitosas, duras como piedras, cargadas con un jarabe tan enfermizo que me dolían los dientes, tenía un sabor desagradable y acabo de guardar 4. 00 valor de dinero. Nunca más volveré a ninguna de sus ramas. La peor calidad jamás.

it was not clean the breakfast was disgusting . The manager wos keep saying everything is ogranik rubish is not . I did complain. I will never ever go again

Compré un pastel de cumpleaños "crema fresca" para mi madre ayer. La crema era dura, amarilla y apestaba a leche. Nos vendieron un pastel que estaba apagado y lo sabían. Cuando lo devolví al día siguiente apenas comí (avergonzándome frente a mis invitados) para quejarme, nos devolvieron el dinero y dijeron que los pasteles están hechos en una fábrica para que no puedan verificar la calidad. ! Entonces, ¿por qué vender un pastel podrido a sus clientes? Deben ser reportados a los estándares comerciales.

We have bought Turkish foods here for some years now, but finally had a coffee and Turkish delicacy indoors. We would highly recommend the take-away items, and the small café which offers pleasant dining facilities. Prompt service, and pleasant staff.

Really great patisserie. Lovely fresh food, savoury and sweet (very sweet). Very inexpensive, informal and friendly staff. I go there quite regularly now and its always good.

Great Turkish shop with excellent bakery products including multiple types of turkish bread and pastries. Also their meat products and fresh grocery are of great quality.

Los sabrosos y dulces pasteles están recién hechos, deliciosos y muy apetitosos, ¡adviértase! Sentarse allí con un plato de comida tentadora y un buen café es un verdadero placer. Esperamos que East Finchley conserve su gama de puntos de venta independientes a pesar de que se abrirá un Sainsburys en Navidad.

Two adults and a three year old had an enjoyable lunch. Friendly staff, great selection. Been in here often, over a four year period. Somechanges in that time but standard maintained.

Me invitó a comer y decidimos llevar el postre - fui de distintos tipos de baklava y galletas. Mis amigos estaban impresionados por la calidad y el sabor. Así que si te apetece tener algo dulce para que te vayas no te vas a arrepentir.

No estoy seguro de si esto dio el lugar ya que no vi ningún café, sólo un montón de pasteles hermosos y diferentes panes, etc. de varias cocinas europea y oriental Norte africanos. Me encanta estar aquí y ojalá viviese más cerca ya que sólo vienen aquí para todas mis necesidades de panadería. Sólo el negocio.

Muy buena selección de comida mediterránea y verduras. Los olores le sacó dentro de las calles. Este lugar hace pan, las estupendas pastas dulces y saladas, galletas, pasteles, bollos, pizzas - todo! Le sorprenderá por su selección de olivos. Me encantan sus pasteles, pero no necesitan un grande así que comprar porciones y haciendo que se puede probar casi todos sus sabores. Sus pasteles de crema son bastante diferente de la regular pasteles de crema. He probado sus galletas mezcla y muchos artículos desconocidos dulce. Me encantan sus Lokma, Gozleme, baklava, Borek, Yufka, Samisi y bastones de pan.

Mi madre y yo de visitar este encantador lugar una vez a la semana, como un lujo, y vale la pena la visita. Té y café están bien y los bocadillos están recién hecho. Mi madre disfruta de los triángulos de repostería totalmente con queso feta y espinacas o vegetal abundante y mis hijos me dijeron la tarta de chocolate alabamha estaba delicioso. Lo que nos hace desear volver semanalmente el personal. Son amables y nada es demasiado problema. Este lugar es tan estimulante del "gran nombre", las tiendas de café, sigan con el buen trabajo.

the food seem to be of decent quality and the prices reasonable, plus they're showing a big board saying "ILLY COFFE".But we've been there today and ordered a "macchiato coffe" and a "single espresso" the Espresso was not very tasty and instead of the macchiato we were given a very "weird" beverage with a lot of milk, hot water and a few drops of cofee in a big cup: not a macchiato nor a Latte nor anything like that. We tried to explain what we wanted and what a Macchiato is, to the girl behind the counter but she spoke very poor English and it was really hard to explain ourselves.Once we managed to do that we were not offered an exchange, a new coffee or anything...they were just laughing and talking in Turkish and we were charged the full amount.The coffee is terrible and the servers are unfriendly (not to say rude); Very unpleasant experience, we will not go back there.I strongly discourage anyone to go to this place.

Needed somewhere for breakfast as hotel breakfast inedible and expensive.Friendly helpful staff with a wide range of Middle Eastern pastries available. Freshly squeezed orange juice and good coffee at half the price of the hotel.

Supermarket, deli, bakery. You can purchase all your Turkish delights here. I've been coming here for last 20 years, it has expanded and developed over the years. Prices competitive, good quality. Staff-a little terse, especially in bakery

Quality price reasonable. Meat was beautiful cooked but never had tinned mushrooms next to grilled meat. Mushrooms and rice tasted very bad. Service was ok friendly but waiting for ketchup we had to get up and ask for it as they were forgetting about it. They also do take away for less money so probably will order in next time.

Make it a thing to pop in for turkish style rice pudding with a hint of rose when in Harringey. And the littke Mediterranean treats are delicious and more than affordable!

I have been here for coffee and pastries. The coffee is good and strong (ILLY)they have a large variety of pastries (sweet and savoury). You can get wraps or sandwiches. Fresh bread to take home as well. They even have lurid blue slush for kids.

Not 100% sure what this cafe actually is but I am glad it is!Have been in twice (second time because I just had to go back) and on both occasions have been delighted with the experience.You have to accept it is a bit cramped. Only 4/5 tables and these are really only geared to 2/3 people but it is the food, welcome, service and cleanliness that is really inspiring. Food is well displayed in modern, clean, bright display units which shows it off to its best.Run by a young team who really want to give good service, it is a pleasure to have genuine smiling faces to explain what much of the displayed food and cakes are. Forget the plain English snacks, just look at the Turkish fare (which defies both description AND pronunciation) and experiment with something different (an apology to any Turkish readers - as this will probably be commonplace food to you).Having tried some of the food on my previous visit and even bought some to take home, I was delighted with the taste, quality and experience although fare to say, my waistline must have suffered as a result.The Patisserie part is not to be outdone! Some absolutely stunning French cakes were on display and having nicked a piece of my wife's Coconut Cake was disappointed that I had chosen a selection of savoury and sweet biscuits. Not that there was anything wrong with these, of course, simply that the last time I had such a cake must have been 40 years+ ago and the memories came streaming back. Bakers were bakers rather than mass producing 'factories' which we seem to have supplying our needs today.Prices are surprisingly low too. Decent (real) coffee is only £2 for a huge cup and it bore no resemblance to any of the mass produced expensive coloured water I have come to expect from UK or Americanised outlets. This was real tasty continental coffee and served as you would expect to find in France by a young girl (OK Lady) who was clearly 'learning the ropes' from her older colleagues and augers well for the future staffing of this establishment. Only hope that the low prices don't result in it's demise as our total bill for Tea, 2 coffees, 8 biscuits and 1 brilliant Coconut cake was an amazing £8 - and they say living in London is expensive??????All in all from this review, you will have guessed that I was impressed in every aspect of this small cafe and will certainly be visiting it frequently when I am in the area which is unfortunately, not frequently enough.
