Y Cerrig Glas in Pembrokeshire

My wife and I went for lunch I had booked the table on line there was no place to add my wife's name. We arrived to be met by a young lady who got very shortly because we didn't have phones with us to add my wife to track and trace. After that she took us through a half empty restaurant to put us next to people with four very young children who were crying and throwing food around the area. We asked for another table to be told I will have to check if there is any space as I mentioned the place was half empty and remained so up to us leaving.I will say the rest of the staff were charming and the food good.

It is great to be back out again and see staff who really enjoy their job. We had trouble using the app but waitress Finley was really helpful and nothing was too much trouble for her. We have also filled in your other survey on the menu due to the great experience we had. All staff friendly and happy, food was delicious, all COVID rules were good and we felt safe after a long time inside. Thanks, we will be back

Visited in October, have always had good meals here, but the last one was awful, overcooked chicken and veg looked as though it had been there all day! The place was very grubby, needs a good scrub, with the lockdown we have had you would of thought it would be clean, won’t be visiting again!!

We are no strangers to Y Cerrig Glas, in fact we visit several times per month typically. Lock down put a stop to our visits However, the way the team handle the new rules are above and beyond other local places I have visited and we always feel really safe! Our last visit was last Sunday - we are devistated it will be our last for a while with lockdown again. Thanks to everyone there who always make us feel welcome.

Rung up to book said no need sat 10oct have supported them through lockdown. Turned up at 8.15 on door last orders 9.30 to be told kitchen closed? Sat night? Won't be bothering again unbelievable.

We've eaten here since it opened and while we know not to expect fine dining as it's not that sort of place we do always expect to have a decent level of service. We've had it in the past and many decent meals but in the last few years have noticed a general decline in the quality of service that we can only put down to a lack of proper restaurant training and experience. The staff are generally all very friendly and try to be helpful, but the service is haphazard and lacks organisation with random waiting staff and managers popping in and out You don't have someone dedicated to your table which probably explains why that on more than one occasion we have literally been forgotten about. Also we've had our food order lost before and when it does turn up it has on several occasions not been as described on the menu!. It would not take too much to turn this place around and improve things.

Always have a decent meal here,staff Always nice & friendly. Even when dealing with a**eholes about wearing masks he was so rude to her & she kept her cool & stayed pleasant bravo 👏

Me and my family were regulars at Cerrig Glas before covid, we think it's excellent value for money. We have seen the staff follow all the guidelines and keep everyone safe at all times, and we are really impressed that safety is coming before everything else. Exactly how it should be at this time too! Sadly, not everyone wants to follow the rules though! We will continue coming back for the amazing food and amazing service whilst feeling safe and secure!

Visited on Thursday 17th of September with my family for a meal to say bye to granddaughter who was going to University. There was 9 in our party-including 3 children. We opted to sit outside as the weather was lovely,my daughter ordered the food and was informed that we would not be able to talk with our extended family as that is how the virus travels! This includes my grandchildren I live with or look after every day,the lady then followed up with ‘I will be watching you to make sure you do not talk with each other’. Definitely spoilt our evening and we will never return to this place. Mark Drakeford states that up to 30 people can meet outdoors with social distancing-maybe Marstons need to understand that. We deserved apologies for having to feel so uncomfortable,if my son hadn’t already paid for the meal I would have left. Very unprofessional from her-I have never complained before but what a let down from establishment. I must add we weren’t even sitting on the same table but were made to feel like lepers with our own family

My daughter and I visited Y Cerrig Glas on Wednesday 16th September. We go out for lunch once a week together and choose a different venue each time. We are not major fans anyway as the service and staff just aren’t good enough. My daughter ordered and paid for our meal and brought our drinks back to the table. She took one mouthful of her lemonade and headed back to the bar where, after a lengthy wait, she pointed out that she had asked for lemonade. The member of staff behind the bar told her it was diet lemonade “ because of the sugar tax”?? My daughter asked why she hadn’t been informed when she ordered it. Well, they only serve diet everything. But why wasn’t I told at the time of ordering, persisted my daughter. A shrug and a repeat “ because of the sugar tax”. My daughter chose another drink, but was unhappy at the way it was dealt with.My nachos arrived without dips. When questioned we were told that the dips were complimentary and they hadn’t yet had a delivery. Once again my daughter asked why we weren’t told at the time of ordering, but once again was told that the dips were complimentary. A fact not made clear on the menu, where the dips formed part of the meal. After about five minutes, a waitress comes out and tells us that the chef had managed to “find” some guacamole and soured cream after all. The soured cream was single cream that had been soured recently, probably with the addition of lemon juice. The waitress did offer to change my meal, but as my daughters’ chicken was slightly dried out, there didn’t seem to be much point in changing anything else. To be honest, the service there, from the start has been pretty ropy and the food hit or miss. My husband refuses to step foot in there after an unfortunate mixup over a gammon slice (another long story). I sincerely wish Wetherspoons had managed to open somewhere in Pembroke or the Dock, good food, good service and the facility to order and pay from your table works. It doesn’t in Y Cerrig Glas.

Not well managed food was very poor.Might be 2 4 1 but would have rather paid full price for a decent meal.

Not much to say but due to extreme covid rules, walked out having qued twice just for table then to order, V poor, cant mention food as left.👎👎

Nice welcome and easy booking. However were informed no roast available (on a sunday?!).Scruffy tables, tables left uncleared while we were there. Food is very typical of this chain but mainly seemed microwaved . People turned away as they were closing at 9pm!!Wine was ok but we will not return I'm afraid.

First time out for a meal since the lockdown, were made so welcome and felt safe. Food was served in good time, staff so happy and efficient. Reading some of the latest reviews I do wonder what expectations some people have. Thank you staff for a nice time!

We visited last night, it was our first time out as a family to a restaurant since covid. The measures that have been taken at Y Cerrig Glas is amazing and we all felt really safe! The staff were informative and helped with any queries. We are so glad to be back

Food was plain awful. A large number of dishes on the menu were unavailable, with virtually no vegetarian options. We were dutifully informed this was because the ‘lorry didn’t turn up today’. No mayo available. No lemon available for drinks as ‘no fruit’. Amazing considering there is a large supermarket just up the road, manager obviously couldn’t be bothered. Poor girl taking our order had the absolute barest minimum of training and didn’t know how to do anything. Had to ask for help how to add items to our order on the till. Dishes were expensive (£15 for a main) and low quality. Chips were AWFUL, horrible brown half baked things. Fish was inedible. Smothered chicken was only smothered on one of the chicken breasts. Sauces had obviously been portioned up along time ago and one had a skin on top of it. Sour cream was runny single cream with a bit of lemon juice in.I could go on listing all the problems. None of our party of six had a decent meal.For the money they charge we expected a whole lot more. Should have known better and checked tripadvisor before eating here. Even Tesco cafe is higher ranked than this place. No doubt better food and a third of the price.

Portions of food are quite small considering the price. When we went the vegetarian options were limited as the delivery hadn't turned up. The staff, particularly Melita (I hope I have her name right) were lovely and friendly. The covid19 measures in place were excellent. Badly let down by suppliers which no doubt will bring more negative reviews even though it's not the staffs fault.

We went here for a treat this evening and we were very impressed. It was very busy so we were glad we booked ahead. After reading trip advisor we were a bit weary however we have found them to be keyboard warriors as we had great value for money and great food. The 2 girls who were not in a uniform im guessing to be manageress were great they seemed really happy to help and showed us how the new covid system worked. The rest of the staff were also very smiley and chatted to us.Thank you Marstons

Scampi and chips, chips are brown on the meals and I asked for them to be replaced to be told she can ask but don't be surprised if they come out looking like this again as it's the style chips

I went for a meal tonight with family and the food was great - what a bonus that it is 2 for 1 as well! The staff have implemented the Covid measures really well and I felt safe at all times here, it was good to see staff regularly cleaning as well. It is great that they are offering discount for those with a Blue Light card , not many places offer this so it was a nice surprise to get a cheaper bill. Thank you all for your wonderful service, I hope to be back soon.

After having a few drinks with my friends before we leave I went to use the restroom. Waited by door due to social distancing the lady i think she is the manager was by the door most of time letting people in. And she asked me have I booked and I said I just want to use the toilet and she said to me with attitude "This is a pub not a public toliet" she said this to me after I had just spent £30 when also one of the lemonade I had the syrup had run out which a bartender tasted her self and said it was okay when it wasn't but I didn't want to complain on a round of drinks with my friends. Not even from this area and it has really made us all quite annoyed. Never been spoken to so badly in a restaurant in my life. And then she asks me for my name to check in again and I try to tell her we've already checked in earlier and then she tells me that if I don't check in there going to shut down pubs even though I've already checked in and been served by the bar. I don't know who her name is but she needs retraining on her customers service skills or you won't be having many returning customers.

Went for a meal tonight with family and it was brilliant, we had a few teething problems with missing food but it was quickly resolved thanks to the manager who was friendly. When leaving a member of my party asked the young girl on bar what her name was as her service was excellent and she deserves some credit for her hard work. So thank you finley you made our night enjoyable once again. Thanks to all, you make a great team

I went here for lunch today and the food was excellent. We took advantage of the 2 meals for the price of 1 and the 50% discount ontop. Couldnt go wrong. The staff made us feel safe with the covid measures in place. We haven't been out much bit this will change now thank you very much

I go there quite regularly, normally very good. I had salmon today as wasn’t very nice, was asked and told them but felt a bit oh well. Normally the service is very high standard there. They’ve dealt with covid restrictions well but wasn’t good today.

We turned up unexpectedly without pre booking a table ( the weekend facilities opened during Covid). Admittedly it was early evening, but we were given a socially distanced table out doors with no problem. We stayed for a couple of drinks. Staff were very friendly and helpful, so much so that we returned the following evening for food - which was very reasonably priced, served promptly and tasted great. This was our first 'adventure into the unknown' post lock down , so we were nervous to say the least. Staff were helpful , polite and friendly throughout and were very aware of distancing and hygiene issues, - made us feel relaxed and welcome. Much appreciated - as was the pint to finally celebrate our 60th birthdays ! Many thanks !

As usual, Y Cerrig Glas did not disappoint. Lovely food at good prices. The staff were really nice, and they are handling COVID-19 arrangements really well.A 'Karen' at the table next to us moaned about being sat outside, but what did she expect?! The staff handled it brilliantly and moved her to under a marquee, thankfully for us!

This is a nice pub/restaurant, the food is cheap and cheerful. The bar lady was really nice and friendly. And the servers were efficient. Worth a visit but don't expect too much as its a chain. Thank you to the front of house team.

So second time here and not brill the chefs afre abit slow you need to check everything on ur plate kinds like the staff at mcdonals i had a mixed grill how do you forget chicken on the mixed grill anyway no problem asked for the lamb,chicken and onion rings that were not only my plate, they come back with a little bit of cold dried chicken, its was laughable anyway took home for dogs, i think maybe the chefs need to put more heart into there work cause ive been here twice and the first time was a woman next to me complaining about foil in her puddy, maybe get some new chefs the waiters are brill there i think the chefs need to take a leaf from there book

Been here so often now! Feels like second home!Big car park good disabled access and always very friendly and helpful staff!Two for one on most meals makes it a bargain!Food is very average pub grub can be good, can be bad!Most times it’s okay! Still serving every thing frozen, including chips (in Pembrokeshire)Shame on you!But yes I would recommend it for it’s reasonable prices, great staff and mostly edible food!Would I go back! Yes I do often!

The food is not bad i enjoyed it food come quick and the prices are really good on the 2 for 1, i would use again only down side i would say are the portion sizes

1.20 lunchtime one poor girl taking orders and waiting on tables in fairness she was doing excellent job of it, but just not fair on her. Have been coming here ever since it opened, but waiting time has been putting us off recently. Pity cost saving measures by Marstons is costing you trade. This is not a criticism of the poor girl that had been put in that position she did brilliantly under very difficult conditions Now 1 50 still no food!

Four of us visited at lunchtime today. Three of the four ordered fish and chips. My husband ordered a side of curry sauce. When the food arrived my sister and brother in law felt the fish was overcooked. My poor husband was given a tiny portion of fish, see the photos below, my husband’s is the first photo and my sister’s acceptable portion is on the right. Bear in mind my husband paid £1 extra for the jug (actually half a jug perhaps it was the end of the batch?) of congealed curry sauce. If this hadn’t been on the plate there would only have been half a plateful of food. I wanted a decaf latte, but they were unable to make this so I paid £2.40 for a cup of what seemed to be a cheap brand of instant coffee. The meal represented very poor value for money and the restaurant was cold as the heating hadn’t worked for days. The small portable heater provided in the area we sat was inadequate for the space. Overall a bad experience. We had had a family bereavement and had a meeting to go to relating to this so didn’t have the time or inclination to complain at the time. I have however made a complaint online, so I wait to hear from Marston’s.

We have had a few meals here ,but the first Xmas day lunch.The food was all served hot and not over cooked ,the service was friendly and tended to any requests promptly. I've reviewed this restaurant before, but the high quality of service my family received yesterday deserves another mention. Four of us went for a Sunday lunch and we had the choice of a very wide variety of dishes, all of which were on a 'two for one' offer. Three of us opted for a turkey roast dinner and I had the vegetarian version of the meal. The food arrived quickly and was very well presented. It was hot and delicious and every part of the meal was properly cooked. The food combination on the plates was very good and the flavours complemented each other well. We had three different vegetables, two kinds of potatoes, stuffing, a massive and fluffy Yorkshire pudding, plus turkey which the meat-eaters said was tender and tasty. My vegetarian version of the roast dinner was a kind of sweet potato rosti and it was really lovely - I would order that again. The pudding menu gave us a wide choice and portions were generous. One of the best things for me was that staff were kind and helpful. My elderly father couldn't eat a great deal and they immediately offered to wrap the rest of his meal for him to take so that he could eat it later if he wished. The bill was much less than I expected because I didn't realise that the roast meals were also on a two for one deal, so that was a pleasant surprise. A very good meal indeed.

We are regulars at Y Cerrig Glas - and we have always enjoyed ourselves there. When we have our child-free nights we will come down and enjoy a relaxing meal. There isn't much to do in Pembroke Dock though so date nights started becoming a bit boring. We went to a Disney quiz a few weeks back that was held by Y Cerrig Glas and it was brilliant! They now seem to be doing them on a regular basis which means our date nights have got a lot more interesting! Fab way to get everyone involved! The night we came we we're served by Toni on the bar, who couldn't do enough for us!

My husband and I came out for a meal and the quiz night. The food was excellent, my chicken was really most and tender.

Went with my partner and his family, they called to book a couple of days before but were told not to bother. It was heaving.

We went on a Saturday night so I thought this is not going to be good. Just because it might be busy. The place was not over busy so we picked our table. Nice and clean placed our food order no problems. The food came out to is hot and NO complaints it was first class and a lot of it. But I was told it's hot and miss. I was happy and the bar staff were very efficient and friendly.

Okay so it is part of a chain but in all fairness the best steak I have ever eaten has been at this restaurant. Yes I have eaten at the supposedly best of the best but when it comes to a well cooked rib eye give me a marstons every time. I concede the chips etc., are mediocre but who cares It's the steak that matters. Very clean and great food for the price.

Visited this establishment on a Friday night after being unable to access another venue due to no disabled access. So what had started as a 50th birthday family gathering turned into a date night.

Me and my family came in on a busy Saturday night, expecting not to get a seat, but we was seated straight away, and didn't have to wait too long for food! The steak was cooked to perfection, and the burger my partner had looked delicious! Kids ate all their food, as they usually do at Y Cerrig Glas! Received fabulous service from Toni at the bar too!

So I’m a local here & remember Y Cerrig opening. Back then it was brand new & they were keen to impress so the service and food were pretty good.

I had the sausage and chips (with peas and gravy of course) because it looked like the safest thing. Their sausages were probably cooked to order but I think the rest of the meal came out of a tin. Nothing was very hot when they brought it out. Do not eat here unless you are desperate.

Absolutely terrible service, had or plates on the table until we had to ask again where our desserts were, need more attentive and friendly staff

As I required a gluten free menu I went for the ‘Chef Recommends’ cod with a cheese sauce which was described as a Rarebit. It came with cold and black looking tinned carrots and reheated potatoes which tasted as though they were cooked last week.

My husband and I were staying in the nearby travelodge and used this establishment 3 times whilst here. Cannot fault...staff were very friendly and attentive, service was super quick food was of a good standard and reasonably priced...what more could you want? Fabulous!!

Staff are friendly. Food leaves a lot to be desired. I had fish and chips the fish was rubbery. My husband had a puff pastry pie that was microwaved. All in all not good!

Had Sunday Lunch today the beef had an awful taste and very rubbery. You need to look into getting a new supplier, you might offer 2 for 1 still expensive when you cant eat it

At my arrival of this restaurant, I was very hesitant as all 5 of my children are vegan which often results in multiple issues when trying to find the perfect meal for each child. But after finding our table, a lovely waitress named “Finley” was extremely helpful as she spoke individually to all of my children to help them decide what meals were vegan friendly. Finley shown us a great variety of vegan friendly meals on a set menu which made us all very spoilt for choice! Our experience was brilliant and I will definitely be returning with all of my children!

I was sceptical to try this place however, myself and my family are so glad we did. I would highly recommend and will be returning. The food was lovely and came out quickly. The 2-for-1 deal is amazing because it was great value you for money and all tasted and was presented great! We had a ferry to catch and made the waitress aware of this and she assured us we would make it in plenty of time, which we did. Thank you, Finley, your service was brilliant, you were polite and helpful. Great place for the kids as there was something for them both to eat (which is hard when you have fussy kids) and they enjoyed playing outside in the sun before the long journey home.

We visited here yesterday and what a beautiful place it is. Food was lovely and there was a wide range of food to select from. The staff are lovely and welcoming especially a young lady who i believe is called Katie. She made sure that everything was okay, kept checking in on us and even had time for a little chat. We had heard some bad reviews about Y Cerrig Glas but all we can give is praise. We will definitely come back.

We called in for Sunday lunch - 2 lunches for £12. Oh dear what a mistake! After waiting an hour we were presented with plates of luke warm turkey and 1/2 roast chicken. The 2 tiny roast potatoes were obviously deep fried. Meals were returned and 10 minutes later new meals served. This time the meat was hot but the deep fried roast potatoes were almost burnt and they’d run out of red cabbage. Avoid

We visited Y Cerrig Glas today after a day out, when we arrived we were approached by our server (Melita) she showed us to our seat, we had a 1 year old with us so she sat us by the play area, she interacted with the baby and was very friendly!!. When the food arrived it looked amazing!!! Melta then came to check that the food was ok. Such a nice environment, all the staff are friendly and smiley, would definitely recommend:)

Myself and my partner visited Y Cerrig Glas today and what can I say. The staff can’t do enough for you. It was quite busy so we were a little worried we wouldn’t get a table, but we managed to get one. Our food came out and it was fantastic, it was delicious. We came across a young lady called Katie while she was cleaning a table next to us, she stopped and chatted to us. We haven’t long moved down here so Katie was saying about all the good places to go around Pembrokeshire. It was lovely of her to stop what she was doing and have a chat.

Visited here with my family during a weekend stay at Pembroke Dock, the service was excellent nothing was to much trouble especially for a young lady called finlay very attentive and made sure we left feeling happy. Will definitely be returning.

We visited last Monday - the pub was extremely busy. We was greeted at the door and made aware there was a little bit of a wait on food (which was fine!) we was taken to a clean table quickly. The food took about 35 minutes (we was originally advised 45!) everything was delicious, me and my husband really enjoyed our steaks. Fabulous experience. Lady being the bar 'Geena' was super attentive and ensured we had everything we needed.

I came to Y Cerrig Glas for food for the first time with two friends. We were impressed from start to finish. We were served by a friendly, polite member of staff (Finley), who couldn’t do enough for us. The food came out fairly quick despite it being school holidays. The two-for-one offer is brilliant.

What a barman Simon very courteous and well mannered who is also very attractive and also excellent customer service always served us with a smile couldn't go wrong and even tho I had absolute rubbish day I left premises with a smile and every query I had with the food, Simon kept checking to ensure that every bit of food we had was up to high quality standard that the produce, will definitely return to the premises

There are plenty of staff on hand and they’re mostly doing their best but what’s happened to table service? You have to get a table number and then go to the bar to order your drinks and pay straight away, same with the food and same again with the sweet. You’re up and down several times during the meal- this hardly aids digestion! Surely there’s a way for the staff to come to the tables and take the orders?

Visited with my family and had a great evening! The service was great and all staff were really friendly and helpful! The food was delicious and there were so many specials to choose from it was great! The manager Rhian was running around and making sure everything was running smoothly and personally checked everything was ok with our food which was a nice touch!

Came here today and couldn’t fault anything. We were meeting and greeted upon arrival by our server ( Melita ) she was very welcoming and showed us to our table. The bar staff were also very friendly, my dinner was gorgeous i had the chicken tikka masala and for pudding i had the chocolate crownie, it was amazing. Will 100% be revisiting couldn’t fault the place.

This is my first time using trip advisor and I must say, this review could not go a miss! What a lovely venue for a restaurant, located just overlooking the sea and on a sunny day the beer garden is perfect for all - even children with the park they have provided. I had visited a couple of days prior to writing this review and the food was delicious and as for the staff, they couldn't do enough for you. I must comment on the lady who served me at the bar, who I presume was the manager, she was so friendly and helpful which is rare to find on a sunny day as I know how much these staff would love to enjoy the outdoors like all of their customers. Also the young waitress, Finlay, was so accommodating, friendly and a real pleasure to speak to about local attractions to visit on our trip. Great value for money and great food!!! It's a shame we are not local or we would definitely be a regular. Thank you y cerrig glas.

Easy to find, along side a main road so great for people going or returning from Ireland. Is popular on special nights such as Steak Night, or similarI u offers. Never had a bad meal there and often find it the most convenient.

We visited last night, JD seated us and made sure we was comfortable. She gave us lots of information on their allergy menu which was fab for my young girl. She was so helpful and attentive. Geena served us on the tills, made sure we was aware of the kids eat for £1 offer! Which was amazing! She gave us a receipt without having to ask for it too (most places I've had to ask for it whilst visiting!). We got speaking to another young woman who we later found out was Rhian, she made sure everything was okay with our meals and even advised us on the best local attractions. Over all fab visit with accommodating staff and a friendly atmosphere. We will be back before we head home!

Was recommended by locals to come here, was not disappointed. The whole family was accommodated for, plenty of choice on all menus. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. Jaydie was fab with my fussy kids to! Highly recommend and will be back on our next travels!

It’s great to see a decent local family restaurant in the area and have visited here a few times - the 2for1 meals are good value but often quite small portions. But a good place to stop off at when visiting family down here

My family & I were staying locally & looking for somewhere serving good reasonable priced food. We decided on Y Cerrig Glas as they offered 241 on all main meals. When we arrived, it was busy but we managed to find a table. Staff were very friendly. We ordered 4 main meals & 4 drinks (2 alcoholic) for £32. We would highly recommend this restaurant (so much so, that we went back the following evening)

I was visiting my parents so they took me here as I walked in I was created with a smile and a hello the menu is ok my parents had the pie as it's been good the last time and i chicken and ribs chicken was nice and not dry chips good ribs are baby ribs but because of the 2-1 too witch the staff said it's cheaper I had scampi for the table well it's the best scampi I've had so overall it was a nice meal and go again yes

Been here a few times and we keep coming back. Including tonight!! 3 generations all happy. And believe me that as you know can be a tall order. Foods great value for money and the staff and manager are very attentive. We go to lots of different places for days out and its great to go here to fill up afterwards. Great views too.

Having reviewed TripAdvisor & this pub being no: 32 of 34 we didn’t really want to dine here but we were running short of time/alternatives. Even though it was a Sunday evening the pub was very busy. It is a modern spacious pub presumably recently built. We managed to get the last available table. There is a wide variety of ‘pub’ food fish, chicken, burgers, ribs, sausages, curry, etc & it was 2 for 1. Waited a reasonable time for the food to arrive considering how busy it was. I would say that the food is good value for the price you pay and although it’s not spectacular it was to a reasonable standard. We found all the staff to be very friendly & welcoming. Being disabled there was a disabled toilet present which could accommodate a wheelchair. Definitely surprised at the Trip Advisor rating & I believe it deserves to be higher than 32 of 34. The night before we were in a restaurant rated no 4 of 34.

We stopped for lunch here after getting off the ferry from Ireland. A large reasonably smart pub by the water with harbour views and plenty of parking. Seating outside if a nice day.

Nice setting but unfortunately food average at best, and not a lot of it. Menu very set and any request or variation was seemingly difficult to accomodate. Shame as could be great place. Service was ok and staff were polite and friendly

Just dined here on the meal for 2 deal, between 4 to 4.30pm on a Friday afternoon, not a busy venue right now. Ordered chicken with garlic mushrooms, potatoes and veg, plus Hawaian Chicken with chips and garnish and drinks, which came in quite cheaply for under £20.

A large group of us came down, all of our food arrived hot and delicious! Service was fantastic and the restaurant looked spotless!

Tried to book in case was busy was told only take bookibgs if more than 10. We ordered 3 mega roast an a child an a salad waited 45 mins for it to be delivered they kept bringing someone elses burgers yet we haddent ordered any. Then the food was warm not hot the stuffing was rock hard an dry and maah potato was dry mash not fresh potatoes we then waited 30 mins to have tabled cleared and order pudding

Came here for my sisters birthday and I had the BBQ chicken burger it was delicious. The staff were friendly and great value for money. One great place to have a nice meal.

Modernes freundliches Pub mit zuvorkommendem Personal. Auch zum draußen sitzen und tollem Blick auf den Hafen. Große Auswahl auf der Speisekarte. Auch einiges an Vegi. Unsere Bourgignone Pie waren innen leider beide teilweise kalt. Ich hoffe doch, das war ein Versehen und gebe trotzdem vier Sterne.

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Goid Food. I think irs part of Marstons chain, and you know what to expect. Nice staff who were helpful, and a nice meal.

Not sure why I keep going back here? Probably because with a gaggle of kids it’s cheap!

Visited this place this afternoon. Ordered fish and chips and chicken with bacon and cheese. Both meals were cold. Unbelievably bad food. The Hobgoblin real ale was awful and served in glasses that should've been cleaner. Dreadful. Suffice to say we will not be returning.

I’m writing this review whilst I am actually in this restaurant. Ordered the vegan burger after returning after a few weeks ago from being disappointed. Still no change, no effort in presentation and yet again still no sweet chilli coleslaw as offered on menu. Had to ask where it was from a confused waitress who said don’t think we have any! It’s just sweet chilli sauce quirted on cabbage and onion, why offer on a new menu if you don’t have it? Not eaten my food but no one has came over to ask if everything is ok. What a waste of money and time. Cooked, unappetising lettuce, see photo. I could go on but about to leave.

After my review of the 12 were we were disappointed our return was a complete turnaround the difference seemed to be a different cooking team and the front of house staff being a lot more attentive

Shocking, food is poor at best all the food came out looking like it was dipped into a cold fryer then served. I ordered an XL meal and the pic below is how it came to me, I asked if the portions were correct for an XL meal they are and they are the same size for a normal meal.Service is slow, I had to clean up my own table.never going to eat in there again. My drink was spilt and I was not offered a replacement.

Came here with my family as I've heard nothing but good things about the place, a bit sceptical cause of the reviews but then people are always quick enough to write the bad but not the good! The service we received was fantastic nothing was to much trouble for the team even with my fussy little eater, desserts were yummy aswel, will defo be returning. Keep up the hard work guys your doing amazing

We had yet again another beautiful visit, staff all looked very happy and upbeat, food was cooked to perfection, and the restaurant was spotless! Thanks again Y Cerrig Glas!

We keep going here as its value for money especially as I have a big family Huge selection for all. Great food and love the staff there. Will keep returning

Let me start by saying that all the staff I dealt with were polite and helpful despite the issues I had. I have never been served such a poor excuse for a steak in my life. I ordered a 12oz ribeye, it was 8oz at best, and had a higher % of gristle than roadkill. It wasn’t seasoned so just taste of char, not even a hint of beef flavour.

We were there around 1900hr the place was not overly busy.

I visited this establishment today. What a completely disgusting choice. Before continuing my comment I would like to say that I am in the culinary field and if today’s experience is anything to go by, this restaurant should be avoided! My guest and I ordered the steak and wine special, 20 pound total. This consisted of 2-8ounce sirloins, chips, onion rings, peas and carrots plus a bottle of red. The steaks were covered in charcoal sediment which was extremely coarse and terribly bitter, not to mention having that burnt taste. The steaks had no flavor at all, none! The peas were so dry that I could not crush them with my fork and no carrots as advertised. The chips and onion rings were undercooked, which is hard to do with run of the mill frozen fare. I spoke the manageress and she was not helpful at all. In fact, she was very rude. I asked that my money be refunded as the food was inedible. We had poured 2 glasses of wine and had literally taken a sip from our glasses. The offer made by the manageress was to refund 3.50 for each meal. I found that the “special” wine was hardly worth the 13 pound that was charged for the bottle, never mind the tiny amount actually consumed and I could buy the same for a couple of pounds in any discount type store. This restaurant in an embarrassment!

We've eaten here a few times, it's handy when the family and grandchildren visit. We had a meal here at the weekend, and my husband asked for a jug of iced water when he ordered the drinks, but the jug of water didn't arrive. My husband went back to the bar and asked again. 5 minutes later the "manageress" slammed 2 pint glasses of water on the table, and was extremely rude, saying she had already told my husband that there were no jugs. My husband is slightly deaf and hadn't heard her. He tried to explain, but she walked away mid sentence, leaving us with a very wet table. We just moved tables, which she was most annoyed about, but the children had colouring books which were getting wet.. If it wasn't for the little ones being hungry we would have walked out.

Food was lovely good portions! However had to chase up my son's pudding twice and the garlic bread once. We sat at a table and there were fish fingers on the floor under the highchair where another baby had clearly sat. I know babies make mess lord knows mine did but clean up! Also had to get my daughter to come give me toilet paper as there was none in any toilets! So fab food not good service oh and not an apology was given by the way

Had lunch here Sat 18 May. Quick service, food fine, although limited choice for vegetarians. No complaints on this occasion. Had lunch here again the following Saturday, took rather a long time to get our meal, and when it came , the gallon I on my salad was cold and very overcooked. I was hungry, and, more to the point, had a train tocat h, so Indid eat it, but it really was good enough. Shame, because the staff were so nice, but I won’t go there again.

Stopped for a meal before getting the ferry. After placing our order, we waited over 25 minutes for food to arrive- we were quite anxious about our departure time approaching and were on the verge of leaving and actually considered getting our food in foil to take away! I imagine quite a few of their customers are in the same position on a daily basis!

Ordered Mega fish and chips for my wife and I. The cod was awful to the point that you could tell it was old frozen fillets. It was uneatable. In addition, drinks very expensive. Lack of decent completion in the area!

If my review has to be accurate it would be garlic bread sharing plate was excellent but the rest of the meal I would say "my pint of beer was great" Long wait for a very well done fish and a overcooked steak
