A gem within the Wye Valley. What better place to visit after walking the dog over the Kenya countryside. Met with a very welcoming service offering a dog friendly environment with traditional surroundings. Good selection of foods and snacks a freshly brewed beverages. We opted for the breakfasts which were all cooked fresh using top quality produce. Continued excellent customer service. A good flow of customers both local and from afar. 10/10 in all areas.

We visited for a brunch after finding it on the list of the top 10 breakfasts in Kent and we weren’t disappointed. Although there was a great breakfast menu we all went for the classic breakfast. It was £10.99 & included egg, bacon, sausages, mushrooms, baked beans, tomato plus toast & coffee. Quality sausages & bacon, lovely seeded bread & good coffee. All lovely & hot. Very helpful staff who tried to offer replacements for my husband as he was limited due to dietary requirements. The homemade cakes & scones on sale also looked very good. Although it’s a 35 minute drive for us we will definitely be back. Well worth the trip. Well done Wye Coffee Shop & Kitchen!

We visit Wye Coffee shop once or twice a month, generally on a Saturday, the lady that serves us and the fare is always very good. On this occasion the shop was besieged with cyclists, some demanding that they their orders were dealt with first, one of the cyclists was extremely rude to the staff and made us feel very uncomfortable. We will be back but I hope the offensive cyclist finds somewhere else to apply his offensive behaviour.

Terrible treatment from the owner or boss, aggressive, hostile angry man, behaved like a bouncer at a nightclub. Ok we were lycra clad older cyclists at 1145am on a Saturday, all tables occupied despite us booking ahead. Refused to serve us, no effort to assist, mire or less told us to get out. No customer service, no manners, no politeness, disgraceful

A wonderful stop for an early lunch, tea, coffee and cake. We had a look at the nearby Perry Court Farm, but decided to head to Wye Coffee & Kitchen instead. Really pleased we did. The staff were very welcoming and soon offered us a table and menus. There is so much on offer here! Great options for GF, vegan and vegetarian, and of a fair price too. Breakfast is served until 12.30pm - we didn’t have this, but saw others with breakfasts which looked of generous portions. We opted for the tomato, mozzarella and pesto toasted ciabatta, and the butternut squash, spinach and vegan feta pasty. Both were lovely. Drinks were good - flat white and a pot of decaf tea. We also bought some of the chocolate tiffin to take away - yum! We will definitely visit again if we are in the area. Yes it may be the only coffee shop in Wye, but it’s clearly popular given how many tables were reserved!

Apparently the only tea/coffee shop in Wye, so you would expect it to be popular, especially as it boasts a very nice selection of cakes. The drawback seems to be the staff, who were notably surly when we arrived well before advertised closing time - "been very slack today", so they'd decided to close early (!). They did condescend to serve us to take away, but we were distinctly not impressed & shall certainly not be returning.

Having about to complete the newly recognised Cantii Way cycle route in Wye it was decided we would celebrate our 140 mile plus ride with coffee and cake in what it appears was the only open establishment (11.35 am). We stopped only to be confronted by such a miserable woman who appeared to go out of her way to make us feel so unwelcome. Many thanks to this miserable wretch and be assured I will be advising fellow cyclists accordingly. So disappointed.

We looked this up as we were hungry and thirsty and it wasn't out of the way. When we got there we saw a "please wait to be seated" sign and several empty tables, then the lady came forward and said sorry, we're full! confused to say the least, we stood outside trying to look up somewhere else when she came back and said we could come in after all. The whole time we were inside there were several empty tables. Food and drink was Ok and the setting was fine. Nice village too.

Food was delicious- Bacon & Brie granary bread toastie and peanut butter stack to share! Buzzing atmosphere inside and tables full outside too. Down one star as we weren’t greeted very well. First works said by mature waitress ‘Are you eating?’. No hello!? We weren’t asked where we would like to sit and handed a tea stain paper menu when sat at a table. Staff didn’t engage in conversation unless I did. No follow up after food served to make sure everything was ok and no more drinks offered. This cafe has such potential that it seems a shame to rate it so poorly. It’s in a lovely location in a small, easily accessible English village between Canterbury and Ashford. Parking is free and it is easy to find. First impressions are good, a large number of cakes on show and plenty of seating.Sadly the grumpy service with no sign of a smile showed what we were in for.The cakes were dry and the scone, in particular, rather unpleasant. Both myself and my husband were unable to even finish eating it, and I don’t think this has ever happened with food before! It was so dry we had both finished our drinks before getting even half way through. We both had to pay extra for a small pot of jam that we were to share (?!) and a teaspoon (not an exaggeration!) of butter each. The toilets were pretty grim too. On opening the door from the cafe I was greeted by a person changing a baby’s nappy! Yep, the changing table is not actually IN a cubicle, but just behind a door from the cafe, and then to squeeze past and get in a smelly cubicle was unpleasant too.

Turned up here today for a quick bite to eat today around 2pm we ordered a coke and beer the lady bought them over and picked the glass up from the top we’re I was about to drink of, which didn’t start great as in a restaurant you hand the glass over from half way down for hygiene reasons. We ordered food which came out with in 10 minutes a ciabatta and a jacket potato, the jacket potato came out just warm, was not even warm enough to melt the cheese we also ordered chips which never arrived. Then when went to the counter to just say our chips never arrived the waitress went “well should of told us sooner could of got them out” I said we’ll surely you should check the ticket and the food before it comes out of the kitchen. I then got told I need have them as a takeaway I said no thank you can I please be refunded for these. There was no apology with this or anything. We have had a couple pleasant meals here which this has not let it down. Puts me off going back again!!

My first comment is, of the photos above, only the exterior accurately reflects the current Wye Coffee Shop & Kitchen, which leads me to ask, has the cafe changed hands? The interior as it is as of today, looks nothing like the photos, much more casual and "used".This was our second visit and really only out of necessity as my husband had forgot his cap on our first visit. Speaking of the first visit, after placing our order and then waiting 40 minutes (we had been advised of a short wait for our food) as others around who had arrived after us were served, we left. This was after we asked about our order only to be advised it would be another 10-15 minutes, which led us to conclude (and the young male server acknowledging) our order had been lost/forgotten. We offered to pay for our coffee and tea, but payment was waived. Thankfully we hadn't paid in advance, which is the norm it seems, as we said we would likely have a cake following our meal. Based on an earlier, similar scenario, a refund would have been a challenge. After 3 emails inquiring about the forgotten cap, we finally got an answer that it was found and they would hold it for us until we could return. No apology for the disaster surrounding our food order (I had mentioned it in the emails), no offer for a complimentary breakfast when we returned to collect the cap, nothing. So, as we were in the area today, we decided to give it a second chance. We ordered exactly the same as previous: large breakfast, which was decent; and quiche, which was terrible. Quiche should be light and fluffy, not thin and hard and crunchy around the edges, not to mention a very small piece. Dressing on the salad was nice. I had been in the mood for soup, but was advised when I asked what the soup was, that there was only 1 portion left.... at noon before lunch has even begun? This place has huge potential, but misses the mark. We won't be returning (we didn't forget anything this time). I'm surmising the owner was working the cafe today, but there was no effort of apology.Must note, the woman who serves tea and coffee is very nice and very capable. Also, there are always dirty dishes on the tables, which themselves could use a good wipe, as there does not seem to be a system for clearing

My family and I went to Wye Coffee Shop and Kitchen last week for a spot of lunch. We only ordered some sandwiches and tea but the staff were unable to cope with such a request. First of all I was told that we couldn't have a panini because they didn't have any, I changed it to a ham sandwich only to be told there's no ham so I would have to have cheese. Err ok then. I then had to pay the £26(!) up front. While we waited for our food to arrive we watched another table of angry customers who were complaining as there were no jacket potatoes either. After 30 minutes since ordering I asked the waitress how long it would be before our sandwiches arrived she said she would go and find out. She returned a couple of minutes later and said 'not long' and then walked off.We waited another 15 minutes before getting our coats on and I returned to the counter to request a refund. The miserable old woman and the thick young girl there were not able to work the till to process a refund so they had to go and get a young man to help. I told him we had waited 45 minutes for 4 sandwiches and we were not prepared to wait any longer. He said 'I don't blame you'!I am still waiting for the refund to go through on my account and so it appears he didn't do it correctly anyway.Avoid this place!

Unsurprisingly we did want food and then after a short wait received the answer of “well you’ll have to wait at least half hour before we start taking food orders again” Difficult to comprehend how an establishment can have a given number of tables and then be unable to accommodate a request for food from them. At most times of day, this cafe has a monopoly within miles and treats customers accordingly. Yesterday, they decided to close the kitchen more than 1 hour before closing time on the door. The staff are generally slow and will seem to revel in any discomfort you experience, like unreasonably long wait times, empty tables reserved-don't sit there, no wifi (common). The food is ok, but the coffee is low grade (better by a factor of 10 a few doors down at King's head).

Its a pity this cafe is let down by consistently slow service and food that could be just a little better. For example today we waited over half an hour for two sandwiches and chips, the bread was very ordinary while across the road there is a real bakery selling amazing loafs. Service apart from the wait is good as is the general atmosphere excepting the noise from the serving area which is intrusive and needs to be quietened by the silencing of clattering and roaring equipment. Its lovely to have a proper cafe in Wye but frustrating that it could be so much better.

We came here after a lovely walk round the North Downs. We first visited one of the pubs in the village but their kitchen had become overloaded with orders so we decided to eat elsewhere and came across this cafe. The menu is quite extensive and they are very amenable to small changes to the set menu items. We had:

In my view this cafe sells the best cappuccino in Kent. I love the welcoming atmosphere, simple decor, and properly home-made food (cakes and lunches are yummy). A great place to go just for a coffee, a superb breakfast, or an amazingly good value and delicious Sunday lunch. It can get quite busy at certain times but you can reserve a table in advance.

I took my parents here this morning for coffee and cake for my Dad's birthday, and we were all very impressed. The lady serving us was lovely, even wishing my Dad a happy birthday. The lattes were fabulous, very hot, just how we like them. My parents had a toasted teacake each, and they were huge! I had a Viennese whirl which was crumbly and delicious, will definately be going back, probably taking my husband for breakfast as it looked delicious as it was being served to the neighboring tables

The coffee shop made me an excellent birthday cake with very short notice - it was delicious! The staff, especially Sarah, went out of her way to help me out, and the cake was ready for me to pick up the next day in all its glory! Wonderful service, thank you!

Stopped here for some lunch, coffee and cake. I had a cheese and onion toastie and my boyfriend had a steak baguette with chips which were both really nice and came with a salad. We then had coffee and shared a piece of cake which was lovely.

The serving area is very small, but the staff cope well despite this. Nice corner position in the village, looking out on the passersbys. The coffee shop has a licence for alcohol, so you can have a little bottle of wine with your lunch.

I popped in here again as Wye is a great village and this independent coffee shop is wonderful. Had a great coffee and a cheese, tomato and pesto pastry. Just right for a quick bit but if you needed more they have it here. Lots to choose from!

Love this charming little cafe. Friendly staff, nice ambience, good quality food, reasonably priced. Enjoyed the healthy breakfast option, salad, poached eggs on crushed avocado, first visit, then cheese omelette & salad next time round. Good selection food and drink- wise.

We were looking for a place to hold the wake aftermum's funeral and being December "there was no room at the inn"in any of the pubs in Wye so we asked at the coffee shop, although it said they close at 4.30pm and we would only be finished at crematorium by 6.00pm. The lady we spoke to was so kind and accepted to prepare food and drinks for our roughly 30-40 people expected. The food was amazing and all freshly prepared, there was a lot of different things both vegetarian and non. The staff were so friendly and kept filling the food table, and seeing to our needs. They were extremely honest also when it came round to paying the bill. I can highly recommend their services. You won't be disappointed.

What a great and unexpected find in such a small and pretty village. This is a mixture of coffee shop and cafe to a very good standard. Cheerful service, homemade food, comfortable chairs, really great atmosphere - the sort of place that doesn't feel crowded when it is busy and wouldn't seem empty if ever it was! On a corner in the village centre so lots of natural light and ideal for "people watching"! So good, we had coffee and tea cake before 10am and were back for lunch at 2pm!

I have called here with my daughter a number of times and it has become ever more busy. It was very good, but today during another very busy time, the service was no where near as good, and standards poor.

We thought we would try Mr Bean in Sayers Lane on our visit today to Tenterden. A nice array of cakes and pastries. We bought our favourite, a toasted teacake which we usually have at another coffee shop. I found a table for us but it was dirty with crumbs and sugar and rather near to the air conditioner in the ceiling which was blowing out cold air, something you would need on a hot day, not on a cold, rainy March day, as well as the doors being wide open. I moved to another table but like the previous one, felt grimy and sticky, in need of a good scrub!! The teacakes arrived. Large, with very little fruit, more like a biscuit than a teacake. Certainly not enough butter to cover the unusually large surface area and rather dry. I went to use the ladies toilet, but only found a disabled toilet. Upon entering I found it to be very unsavoury, wet floor and generally unfit for use. As it is the only toilet and obviously used by male and female customers, this makes it essential to keep vigilant over its cleanliness. All in all, with the higher prices and the state of the establishment we will not be going back.

After a long ride with some friends decided to stop in at the bull inn. Lovely place and felt welcomed by all the staff. We decided to get lunch as well as a drink. the lasagne was amazing and the food came to us quickly. Will definitely be returning on future ride outs.
