Service and food were excellent. Big thanks to Hannah for making Jayne’s Birthday special. We will definitely revisit!

Sunday lunch. Nice atmosphere, attentive staff. Starters were lovely and nice choices on the menu Beef was delicious, but roast potatoes could have done with another 20 mins in the oven - they seemed very pale and soft. We were also very disappointed with the vegetable selection, which was mainly more potatoes, a few mange tout and carrots, and parsnips. Hardly any greens. Missed broccoli, cabbage, and cauliflower cheese, which I would have expected. We were not full by the end of the meal. Overall, it was tasty, but the roast potatoes and lack of veg let it down.

I attended this restaurant for an impromptu meal with a friend at the weekend. I enjoyed the experience of being seated in the bar area, having our drinks order taken, rather than being ushered straight to our table. As we arrived at the allocated booking time, I fully expected that we would need to go straight to our table. Not the case at all! We were welcomed warmly and not rushed in any way. The staff were nicely attired too. It was a relaxed start to the evening and set the tone for the overall experience. The bar and waiting staff were welcoming and friendly from the outset. We were too busy talking to look at the menu initially, so weren’t ready to order when asked. The waitress kindly said this was no issue and returned after giving us more time; with a smile, no hint of it being an inconvenience! The whole ambience of the restaurant was relaxed and enjoyable. Nice lighting, background music at a perfect volume and the whole place is beautifully finished. I can recommend the prawn starter, and the rump steak. I enjoy my steak blue and not many places can get this right. Extremely tasty and the perfect temperature. My companion had a burger which looked fabulous too! We rounded the meal off with a chocolate brownie which was just the right size, beautifully presented and extremely tasty. The staff were attentive throughout and checked our starter and mains were satisfactory, as well as topping up our drinks without having to ask. Couldn’t fault the experience, will definitely visit again!

Amazing food and service! You can come to this without being in the golf club. Hannah, Clare and Dolly served us, and were all super professional, friendly and down-to-earth. Not to mention how delicious/high standard the food was!

Delicious food. Great service, polite staff, staff went above and beyond, overheard that it was my birthday, and surprised me with a complimentary dessert with ‘Happy Birthday’. Would highly recommend. Will be coming back.

Went for Christmas meal with friends but the festive menu was disappointing, no Christmas pudding and poor choice of desserts. Another party there had crackers etc but we weren’t even offered any. Was told that they had a pre-ordered menu. My husband is a member of the golf club and on the email they sent him there was only one menu (which we had) with no option to prebook our choices, plus there was no mention of this on the website and we certainly had all the trimmings last year without pre-ordering. That said, the quality of food was good. Must improve before we return next year.

Lovely place, lovely staff, food 6/10! I feel the good could do with a little updating. Make it a little more exciting than run of the mill. Husband did y enjoy the steak was too tough. I did enjoy my meal as did the family. I really enjoyed my visit and shall be back. I just wish the menu had a little more exciting options?

Had an amazing time at the woodlands restaurant the food was exceptional and serves in a timely manner. The staff are excellent and the young gentleman than served us could not of been more accommodating and polite. Would 100% recommend to anyone.

Restaurant was very clean and considering we were there in the heat of September the room was really cool. The choice of meals was excellent and all cooked very well and hot. The staff went out of there way to make you feel at ease and where very friendly. The evening was finished with a drink sat out on the patio, peace and quiet with just the evening bird song.
