Brunch was fantastic.. Grt value and grt quality. We had bagel with bacon and cheese, and sourdough with avacado, bacon, egg. Brilliant value!!

I have gone to this cafe for many years. The food is cooked and baked on site and is consistently excellent. The scones and lemon meringue are generous and the absolute best you could get. The staff are helpful and friendly.

The menu is like a big warm hug! Lots of yummy homemade delights to choose from - including great veggie options. From the traditional to the very creative, this menu will make anyone hum with delight. Tucked away in the woods just behind the beach with good parking, dog facilities and toilets - open every day from 9:30 with breakfast options until 4:00 with super massive cake portions. What's not to like!

Gorgeous food. Fresh spongy scones with the most beautiful jam I have ever tasted. Lovely service and atmosphere. Everything is beautiful here, from the tiny milk churns for milk to the lovely coffee cups. Lots of work has been done to the outdoor area also.

Always uncomfortably cold. Automatic doors too frequently wide open to the elements. Food gets cold before you sit down. Management needs to bite the bullet and turn on the heat. We’re all in the same boat as far as energy costs are concerned.

Whao! What a meal! The most amazing vegan falafel pitta bread with garlic potatoes and such a tasty beef burger with chips (obsessed with the chips in Woodlands Cafe!!). Portions are amazing too! So nice to have somewhere with great food, super friendly staff and dog friendly too (outside with retractable roof). Love this spot after a walk in Crawfordsburn. Highly recommend!!

I huge improvement altogether...it was so good to see vegan options at last....although I must add..please chef do not pre prepare avacado...it must be served straight out of the shell otherwise it tastes of nothing once air gets at it and loses its colour also...Apart from that we had a really good experience here on a lovely sunny day.

Even though we only stopped for hot chocolate if we didn't have dinner reservations we would have definitely eaten here. Food was not your normal cafe type thing (although you could grab a sandwich too) looked fresh and we saw plenty of people eating it which smelt great. Good selection of cakes seating both indoors and outdoors and a small little visitors centre with some animals too see. Definitely a good place to break up the walk

Unbelievably rude staff and no complaints procedure as the manager/owner employs relatives. Food is often cold and whilst the coffee is good, the cups are never full. Definitely one to avoid.

Fantastic bowl of stew full of flavor and the perfect seasoning. A lovely, crusty bread roll accompanied it, and it really couldn’t be better. The perfect temperature, the perfect seasoning, the perfect amount, everything was wonderful. It was served an a cross cut of tree. I am definitely heading back there for one more visit before I head back to Canada.

The worst breakfast fry ever. Sodas and potato bread deep fried, bacon burnt , sausage’s terrible. Not be back for breakfast.

Pleasantly surprised by the quality of food here . We stopped off for a quick bite with the kids . I went for the goats cheese fritters which were delicious with lovely salad and walnuts. The traybakes and desserts look amazing can’t wait to go back to try them out .

Amazing traybakes, the biggest slice of lemon meringue pie I’ve seen and a great location. Usually cafes in visitors centres are so-so, but this place is great. Had a lovely coffee in the terrace outside with some delicious, reasonably priced cakes. Will definitely be back.

We he have had lunch in this cafe over the last few years. Never disappointed. Always large proportions of wholesome fresh cooked food. Always leave wanting to come back very soon.

We had lovely homemade soup with wheaten bread and a panini and coffees. Food and coffee was excellent and it was great to have the option of eating outside as we had the dog with us and also felt safer with covid still around. Will def be back, the scones looked amazing!

This place IS open on Mondays - despite posted info. Staff very good, food very good too but the place is uncomfortably cold. ‘Hot’ food gets cold very quickly, spoiling its enjoyment.

This cafe was surprisingly wonderful! I didn't have high expectations because it's not much to look at (a little tired looking) but the staff were kind, helpful and the food was excellent. I had the vegan falafel pitta with sweet potato fries which was delicious (my partner had the stew) and the portion sizes were very generous! The tray bakes were so incredibly yummy, my only criticism was that they were all individually wrapped in clingfilm so lots of unnecessary plastic there. Overall, a great place to have a decent lunch after a long walk or time on the beach.

This has the potential to be an amazing place but it falls short on so many levels. Staff are not welcoming or professional. Not engaging at all with us on this or our previous visits which was pre pandemic. As it was in the half...

We stopped into the Woodlands Cafe after mountainbiking around Crawfordsburn Country Park. The coffee is fabulous and the scones and tray bakes... amazing. Lovely friendly staff... We'll be back soon.

We had a delicious lunch today, 3 adults and two children. Every meal was a treat and all quite different. Tasty beautifully presented fresh. And then amazing buns to take home after the children swam in the sea.

My husband and I discovered the exceptional food here after a long coastal walk one recent day. We inquired about having our extended family pre-Christmas lunch,and the chef/manager offered to set up the adjacent crafts room as our own private dining room, and even decorated the table for the holiday. The family were delighted at the idea of a different experience-- an invigorating coastal walk followed by a private lunch. The chef offered a set-price, 3-course lunch, with four offerings each of starter/mains/dessert. Each person thought each course they had was excellent. Main courses options were turkey & ham, chicken stack, beef, or fish, served with several vegetable dishes family style. I selected a mixed melon starter with minted ginger sauce. Perfect. My poached salmon main course was served with yummy veloute sauce. The fresh fruit pavlovas and lemon cheesecake were popular desserts. The staff were cheerful and efficent, snd attentive. This cafe has outstanding value for money, the food could not be better, and the chef/manager and the staff work to make your visit here a memorable experience. Try it!

Had lunch here,went for the burger and my wife had the roast beef, both were delicious and our empty plates at the end were proof of that. Staff were very friendly and attentive and the cafe was very clean. Will be back

Visitamos este café mientras en el parque, mientras que el que tenía rollitos de salchicha estaban bastante bien, me atónita por el precio de una lata de cola. Visitamos hoy para el almuerzo y optamos por la sopa del día, tuvimos 2 puerro y patata y 1 de vegetales. Grandes tazones de sopa celestial con 2 rebanadas gruesas de pan casero besutiful wheaten y mantequilla. Pregunté asistente de donde sacaron su pan, y ella para wheaten d que el dueño lo hizo. Me preguntaron si era para la venta y me dijo que era en su otro lugar, Rambling Rose, pero ella preguntaría si había allí y cuánto cuesta,. El propietario envió el pan completo envuelto y me dijeron que tome a casa, sin cargo. Me quedé asombrado, como un gesto de amabilidad y un poco de dinero que su tarro de propina. No puedo recomendar este hotel lo suficiente. Yo también visité bajo la última propiedad y me gustó el desayuno durante todo el día, etc. pero sin duda la oferta de comida es muy diferente, pero aún así una buena relación y todo casero. Los pasteles y tartas eran para morirse. Dar una oportunidad al nuevo propietario y no se pueden comparar con los anteriores dueños. Es traer una nueva experiencia a un café país y nos quedamos impresionados.

Since new owner prices have gone up dramatically and quality reduced. New staff exhibit poor customer service. Used to be an enjoyable place. Now very poor value for money. Significant room for improvement.

Visited on a cold sunny Sunday lunchtime. 3 of us had different meals all of which were delicious. Especially steak pie. Very busy but service friendly. Only downside is the cold draft every time the doors open.

Went here twice over the Halloween break as usual perfect in every way...so sad to see the sign saying the present owners are soon leaving...so sad to hear this as they have most definitely put this place on the map but have no doubt they will be successful in their next ventures....good luck guys.

On a sunny Sunday morning my wife and I love to walk from Helen's Bay to Crawfordsburn and the bonus is of course when you get there you can have a sit down and and cup of tea or coffee before you set off on the return journey.This cafe is what it is but you always feel pushed to finish and get out as I don't think they have enough tables for the demand.The staff always looked overworked and are slow to clear tables which is strange as the cafe is always busy.We have only had tea or coffee and a traybake but the food does look good and there is always a good atmosphere but we feel that this place could be so much more than just a stopping off point.

Had meal two Sundays ago with friends. No one enjoyed or finished their meal and manager explained chef had not turned in for work. Fair enough; every one has an off day.

I visited Crawfordsburn with my mum and children yesterday. We decided to go into Woodlands Cafe for a cuppa. We were met by very friendly staff and our coffee was made quickly. The scone was lovely (and huge - always a bonus!) and the latte was delicious and hot. We were offered free refills which was a welcome surprise. They had a selection of toys for the children to play with while we enjoyed our coffee, which was great. In such a lovely setting - would definitely recommend.

On a Sunday morning whatever the season, my family and I love nothing more than to meet over at Crawfordsburn for a nice walk. We then visit the woodland cafe where we always enjoy a latte (my favourite) and a massive tasty scone!! It's a Sunday treat. We've got to know the staff who are all very friendly. Even the chef comes out for a chat! There are free refills for all the filter coffee drinkers which is a nice bonus. Would highly recommend..

Whenever we come to Bangor we always make a point of visiting the Woodlands cafe! Have never been disappointed lovely food and friendly staff looking forward to our next visit.

Whether it is a breakfast, lunch or a children's party Woodlands cafe is the place to go. On our trips back to Ireland we never miss at least one visit. Breakfast is excellent with the best poached eggs and a great range of other cooked items. Lunch whether a sandwich or a full meal is also excellent. The food is well cooked and presented with staff for whom nothing is too much trouble.I know from my grandchildren who have been to many birthday parties what a wonderful setting this is for them. Always a High Five !!!!

Regular visiter to woodlands cafe, and love the place. The country park has always been a lovely place for a stroll but in the last few years the cafe team have really added a nice, friendly environment to relax with a coffee and a bite after a bit of exercise. Space can be at a premium but generally that's because the place is so popular! 3 generations of our family love it!!

Visit Woodlands regularly with my 2 children as it is a great spot to eat at and rest after a walk or bike ride. Our most recent visit was on Bank Holiday Monday on what was a beautiful day. The place looked great with lots of lovely scones and tempting sweet treats. The scones were excellent and I still think Woodlands does the best breakfast in the area. There was lots of games and things for the kids to play with outside on the decking. It is these small touches that Woodlands do that make it a great place for families. I always find the staff to be so helpful and chatty and nothing is too much trouble. The place is full of regular customers and dog walkers to the park and it is clear to see the lovely rapport between staff and customers. The food and coffee is excellent. At peak times it is busy but what good cafe in summer isn't. The staff are efficient and ensure orders are taken quickly so no complaints. Definitely worth a visit for breakfast or lunch. It won't disappoint.

We came to the cafe after a blustery day on the beach with another family. We had a fantastic afternoon tea, we were served quickly and the food was delicious. My husband is still talking about the scones!! We would def go back and my little one wants to have his birthday party here.

Frequently visit Woodlands cafe, their scones are fabulous. On a recent visit i had forgotten to pack babies food, I was stressing but the staff were really helpful in accommodating a suitable meal not on the menu. They also have a selection of toys for use which is great for keeping the little one entertained so I can enjoy my coffee and scone!

Have eaten lunch here recently and if you are early enough, there is a good choice. Food service stops before 4pm which is too early, when the Park is packed with people wanting to eat.

The best thing going for this Cafe is the location. Called in late lunch on a sunny day midweek with my 7 year old whilst spending the day with another family at the local beach. (I stupidly forgot to pack her lunch) Waited patiently in a queue of about 5 people to order a PLAIN CHICKEN SANDWICH for my child and a pot of tea for me. Spent around 20 minutes waiting for our order to be taken by the one member of staff who was rushed off her feet whilst the others were wandering around filling water jugs and topping up cutlery trays. !!! Was advised that my PLAIN CHICKEN SANDWICH i.e 2 slices of white bread and butter with chicken breast would take some time as there were lots of orders in front of us and that even though i had asked for a childs portion it would cost @£4.75 as its the same price for kids and adults.. Even though a childs hot meal was @ £3.50..!!!! HOW LONG does it take to make a PCS.. Noted that the 3 customers in front of us who had ordered Burgers, Paninis, Chips etc were served their food about 10 minutes before our sandwich arrived. Really really poor planning/management/customer service.. Shame as it could be a great addition to a beautiful place..Would probably have been quicker & cheaper to drive home and collect the forgotton lunch.

Just to say a sincere thank you to the staff of Woodlands for looking after and feeding our group for 5 days in the middle of July 2016. I obtained quotes from a number of local caterers and found Woodland's price and menu options impossible to match. We stayed at Lorne Estate around 4 miles from their premises and they prepared and transported piping hot food to us for both lunch and dinner everyday. All the food was of a really high standard, which made cleaning up an easy job as there were so many clear plates! I really appreciated the punctuality and professionalism of their staff, as well as their friendliness with us and our group. Would definitely recommend to other youth organisations, church groups and anyone really who is running an event which requires good quality food. Many thanks to all your team and looking forward to continuing our connection in the future.

Recently visited the cafe, waited around 30minutes in a queue of only 5/6 people. Those who only wanted drinks or coffee had to wait in the same queue as those getting hot food.The coffee was good but the sandwiches were stale!

Today (6-7-16) I visited the Cafe after taking a walk around the park. I went inside and got a diet coke and some chips. I got up to the till after waiting about 10 minutes in the line to find out that you had to order hot food before you got to the till. I was very unhappy with this comment because the staff that were supposed to be taking your order were standing twiddling there thumbs or were on there phones. I said that there was no one there to take my order and then she reluctantly took my order. After waiting about 5 minutes for my chips I got them in the burger box that I had asked for them in. There were chips hanging out the side of the burger box. On the plus side they were good chips. I would give this review 2 and a half stars but I couldn't. If I do come back here I hope that there will be a great improvement and that staff will put there phones away and focus more on their customers.

We arrived just after the lunch period. No other customers were at the counter. There were no tongs available to lift the scones. There were at least 4 or 5 staff behind the counter but all managed to ignore us as we stood waiting. A man came from behind the counter and we asked if anyone was serving. He said he was from the kitchen and he would get the manager. Obviously,nothing to do with him though all he had to do was reach us the tongs ! A lady came and reached us the tongs saying that someone must have moved them. We replied that this was quite a frequent occurrence on other visits. We also mentioned that it was a pity that so much of the food, especially scones, cakes and sausage rolls, was uncovered where people reached across it or where it was sitting at "breath height". I would have liked a piece of the rhubarb tart but did not take it for those reasons. She said that they were within the guidelines. I suggested that that was just a minimum standard and there was always room for improvement. She replied that other places displayed their food in the same way. I suggested that many customers did not like it and that I at least had said so. She then went on to say that if I did not like the way they did things then I could go somewhere else ! I was shocked. Surely, this is not the way to deal with customers. Her manner was off-hand, even cheeky. Our outing was totally spoiled. Needless to say, we will not be back (not that she probably cares) ! By the way, the scones were hard and heavy. So disappointing, but, fortunately, there are lots of other places to have coffee and where the food is covered and customers are treated nicely !

We visited Woodlands this morning for Breakfast, we were welcomed by every member of staff, very friendly and all smiling! great idea, breakfast was delicious, freshly cooked served with piping hot coffee, hmmm! Perfect! We will definitely do this again. Well done Woodlands.

We visited the cafe on June 9th. We helped ourselves to 3 soft drinks in bottles. The staff all seemed concerned with other business as we stood in line and waited. I don't know if they were all having a bad day, but everyone had sour and stressed facial expressions......not one friendly smile......no eye contact with customers. When at last we went to pay at the till, we were short changed by £2. I pointed this out to the sour faced cashier and she corrected the mistake.....but there was no apology. We were not offered any glasses to pour our drinks into...but I spotted some beside the knives and forks. These glasses/tumblers were badly marked and scratched and none matched.....all shapes and sizes. I went back to the cashier and told her that the glasses looked dirty and she gave us paper cups.....no apology or eye contact. It would have been nice to have some ice for the drinks, but the thought of queuing and facing the unfriendly staff put me off asking. We noted that the food (lunch) does not seem to be cooked to order but is cooked earlier and kept warm under hot plates. When we looked in an hour later, the same food was still there being kept warm for customers. What an unfriendly bunch of people.

Me and my boyfriend came here for lunch which was delicious, lots of selection of hot or cold foods, buns, drinks, ice cream etc.. nice for a day out to the beach!

Food is so well presented and looks delicious. Great selection. Prices are average. However seating is very limited. Also few if any 2 seat tables which meant 2 people occupying a space for 4. Time in queue took forever. Minimum spend on card £5.

My partner and I visited here yesterday on first impressions noticed how bright and spotless clean the cafe was...We ordered lasagna and chips wit side salad when our meal arrived it looked amazing generous portions and was very well presented couldn't hav faulted it in any way until we started our meal the lasagna was very runny as if undercooked for me truly awful a big let down...There is lots of dishes to chose from unfortunately we made a bad choice...Having said all that we would return but be trying a different dish hopefully better luck next time...Staff and cleanliness is really good I have to add...

Great wee cafe in crawfordsburn. Food good, service pleasant and helpful. Seagulls do swoop in for food occasionally, but it is by the sea in a forest park , so wildlife expected!

We used the conferencing facilities at the Woodlands Café for a team building day. I can't praise enough the food we received on the day. Great quality food (proper carved ham sandwiches) and a fabulous choice. The staff were very attentive, particularly with regards to allergy considerations. Everyone had a great day; the conferencing facilities were just what we needed and we all commented on how lovely and plentiful the food was. Special thanks to the staff, who were a pleasure to deal with from start to finish. We will be back!

A wonderful setting within the Country Park with opportunity to enjoy outdoor seating on a beautiful day! A lovely place to stop off for a tea/coffee and a generously sized scone or even something more substantive. Lots of opportunity to explore woodlands or a coastal walk - or the small adjoining information centre.

We stop in here regularly for coffee and scones following a brisk walk along the beaches. Staff are always friendly and food is well priced.

The food at this cafe is fantastic and very reasonably priced, so good we make it part of our routine after a big walk in the park to go to the cafe and get lunch or or coffee and a treat.

Visit regularly - great place to get a lazy Sunday breakfast or lunch. Great surroundings meaning you can sit outside and listen to the birds (weather permitting) while eating. Staff are really friendly and helpful and there is a great selection of food to suit everyone which is both good quality and quantity. Usually very clean inside and I have only not been able to get a seat on one occasion due to being very busy. It is joined on to the information center so there is something to keep old and young ones occupied on the off chance you do need to wait for a seat to become available.Def worth a visit!

From the moment you walk into this cafe, the staff are pleasant, friendly with smiles on their faces. There is loads of parking, and after a long walk there is a hot delicious meal waiting for you. The hamburger with fries is worth every penny.....the scone one of my favourite was light and fluffy.

My Mum, my sister and I called in here yesterday for a snack lunch, At 12.40 it was nicely busy but not overcrowded. There are tables on the deck outside and plenty of tables inside. You take a tray and help yourself to traybakes (which are huge!), softdrinks etc and ask if you want any of the daily specials - there was lasagne on offer, for example, as well as all the regular food such as salads. We just wanted sandwiches, traybakes and tea and as there were no packaged sandwiches in the cooler, we asked if any could be made. That was no problem and we could order exactly what we wanted - a round of egg and onion, ham and coleslaw and chicken, tomato and coleslaw. We could have had brown or white bread. We collected our tea (in individual tea pots), picked up a jug of real milk (not UHT) and paid., Some 10 minutes later the girl brought the sandwiches to our table and they were lovely - very fresh bread and well filled. After lunch we had a walk round the educational displays in the centre, including some old photos of Crawfordsburn and also saw the winning images from the Ulster Wildlife Photography competition. A very pleasant hour was spent. Lots of free parking, near to the beach and woodland walks. Would recommend it!

Saturday morning breakfast was a treat for my grandson and me. 5 piece Ulster Fry was nicely cooked and quite substantial. Staff were helpful and friendly. Price reasonable.Bought a couple of lovely scones on leaving - expensive but delicious.Beautifully situated in the centre of a magnificent park with ample parking nearby.

Very modern nice little cafe, with education centre attached , for wildlife etc . Very nice for a coffee and something warming, watch the wildlife and birds outside with educational help. Great place for everyone. Serves hot food, lots of parking and outside seating, situated within the park and near to the beach allso.
