Very poor lunchtime experience here recently. Can only echo the previous review re the mushroom tart, we complained and were told "thats just the way it is, lots of people say its hard to cut....its because its vegan" No sorry, no would you like something else, no interest. Also ordered fish goujons in sourdough bread..... which turned out to be crusty white bread. Certainly won't be eating here again for a while

We went for lunch at 1.15 last Friday 11th October 2024. We ordered the Mushroom & Spinach Tartlet. The pastry was so hard we could not cut it with a knife! It had been too long in the oven or microwave. We ate the mushrooms & spinach, only as we were hungry. Then as my main, I ordered Pan Fried Sea Trout. I was served a small piece of salmon, which was £15.95, but it was not worth it. If they had no trout why was I not told? I am a retired chef and having worked in restaurants and hotels I find it incredible that a chef does not know trout from salmon! Was it the KP filling in that day for a chef? The waitress was very attentive and I did not complain at the time as it was not her fault.

A warm welcome on a cold and wet day. Started with a lovely bottle of delicious Zinfandel wine. The food that followed was divine! The best Chowder I’ve ever had, (better than Boston USA). Sandwiches are lovely too, with pre seasoned fries, scrumptious. My partner’s pulled Beef bourguignon starter and pizza were lovely. Portion sizes are generous. the prices very reasonable. Great selection of food on the menu. Bonus, loving the playlist background music. Lots of free parking. Lots of outside seating too, (for warmer days). Toilets very clean. We’ll be back for sure. Highly recommend!

We booked Woodies for our wedding reception in August more than a year in advance and James and the team were absolutely fantastic! James was ever so patient with our never ending questions and requests and was even better on the day! He went out of his way to help us with anything we or anyone else needed. The staff were amazing and very friendly and we had the BEST food! It was all just perfect! We wanted a small, intimate wedding reception and we had just that! Thank you to you all for giving us and all our loved ones such a great experience on our special day!

Had a veggie Sunday lunch and it was delicious, especially the gravy and filo pie. Great service too, absolutely no complaints and I look forward to coming back!

Shame the staff don’t warn you about the parking fine, maybe they’ve got a partnership with the fine giving people. Bloody shambles it should be called.

Came in for drinks, realised none of us had eaten. Two of us are celiac, it wasn't a problem at all. The bar staff was actively encouraging and helpful. We got fantastic wine recommendations, a* food and exceptional service in a quantity, mode modern environmental. Whoever your red-headed barstaff with the beard is, I fully recommend he gets a bonus or something. He really made our night 🌙

We were a large family booking with different requests including food not mixed due to sensory needs, and all your lovely staff were really obliging. The food was delicious too. Thank you so much for a lovely afternoon. 😊

Just stopped at Woodies, by chance. What a gem! The barman was very good and they provide a good selection of zero alcohol wines and beers.

17th march went to woodies for a few pints of Guinness and a sunday roast. Excellent roast dinner we both had pork it was spot on. Would highly recommend. I would book because it does get busy

Cannot rate Woodies at the Barn highly enough. Lunched here today with 5 friends. The staff were amazing, friendly, helpful and unobtrusive. Service was impeccable with every request met with a smile. Woodies Sunday roast was fabulous, roast beef was tender, roast potatoes crunchy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. Roast carrots, parsnips and red cabbage cooked to perfection and full of flavour. Portion size very good too. Desserts equally delectable, home made ice-cream, peanut butter crème brûlée and pear and plum cobbler all given group approval. The restaurant has a lovely ambience, it is relaxed and is very clean and tidy. Wonderful staff and tasty food. Thank you for a terrific Sunday lunch. We look forward to returning.

Woodies hosted a BoozyBar cocktail masterclass and two-course meal. The set up was brilliant, and the food and cocktails were amazing. Very helpful and friendly service.

Once again a fabulous night at the monthly quiz hosted by James and team! They all work so incredibly hard and the food as ever is scrumptious as well as being great value for money! It's no wonder we've become regulars. Always a great atmosphere too!

Pre booked table for mates lunch and beers. Great service on arrival and advised wait for food as large pre booked party in for birthday. Knowing up front a wait but not an issue. Great venue very warm and friendly, service very attentive. Food was very tasty and freshly cooked, burger was hot, flavoursome and chips piping hot too. Only comment would be portion size on the smaller size. Beer again well kept ipa hit the spot. First visit and will be returning, really good vibe going on and a venue which would be great in the summer as outside seating area looks great too.

I wish I'd had more in cash to tip Jasmine, both my partner and I are coeliac and she made every effort to make sure everything was safe and gluten free, recommended a fantastic pinot noir, and was perfectly attentive the entire night. Both pizzas and the starters were also great recommendations. 10/10 will be back.

Honestly absolutely fantastic I don’t often do reviews but I’m so impressed with this little place, so cosy and warm welcoming 11 out of 10 great job at woodies 😁😁😁

We had our wedding reception here, the decorations were exactly how we asked, the food was amazing , thankyou to Connor, James, Ash and Tom. We did have many guests comment how one staff member was not very customer friendly, and I must say, I myself also felt this, however this did not dampen our enjoyment. Fantastic food, great service, apart from the one member of staff. Would definitely recommend.

Bit disappointed. We both shared 2 starters. Meatballs lovely, but only 3 small pieces of halloumi for £4.50. We both had a roast. Beef was gorgeous and the roast pots. Yorkie very dry and the beans and broccoli were rock hard. I are my veg as was starving and my partner left his. No where near a proper portion size. Even with starters we both left hungry

Arrived on Saturday night at 10:40pm to have 1 drink with a friend to be told that last orders were called at 10:30pm and they wouldn’t serve us. When I asked what time they were closing we were told 11pm. We asked the lady serving to ask the manager if they would serve us, who, it turned out, was standing a meter away, but hadn’t bothered to say anything so far, and he repeated that he would not serve us a drink. Come on guys. 20 minutes to drink 1 drink is more than enough time! You’d think in this economic climate businesses like yours would welcome customers. Not this time I guess. What a shame.

This is a super little wine bar. Had lovely Gavi served nice and chilled. We had several dishes from the tapas on offer. Polite efficient staff. Nice atmosphere.

Just had a really fun night at Woodies. Cocktail Matsterclass run by the awesome Ben! 3 cocktails, tapas & lots of laughs. Whats not to like! A group of 14 bonded over 3 hours on a Wednesday night.... Delicious food, great cocktails. Ben was enthusiastic & manged to get us all to produce 3 very drinkable concoctions, it was relaxing & fun. Would 100% go again & wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Woodies recently hosted my husbands surprise party and as usual couldn't have been more helpful. Catering to a specific menu and assisting with the decorations....above and beyond as always..... Thanks to Conner and the team

Cannot rate highly enough. Woodies catered for a party of 15 for a birthday celebration. Great food, service with a smile, lovely atmosphere and an altogether awesome experience.

Our first visit and definitely wouldn’t be out last. The service was brilliant and friendly. The food was excellent and the live music certainly added to the atmosphere. Thank you all, we’ll be back again soon.

We had our wedding reception here on the 1st of July and I cannot put in to words how amazing it was! From the food, to the service, to the organisation it was all first class. Special mention to Connor who was incredible from the initial email until the end, I cannot thank him and his staff enough for everything they did for us. Lovely Sunday lunch, well prepared and presented. Pleasant and friendly staff, just what was needed and not expensive.

Very good atmosphere - staff were very polite and friendly. The guy serving us was very pleasant and efficient.

We had an amazing lunch outside in the sunshine. Beautiful garden. We had bites which were delicious and a great selection of drinks to go with it. Thank you to all the hardworking staff for the amazing service, especially on such a busy and hot day. Can’t wait to come back.
