Lovely ambience and an informal atmosphere. We had excellent service and the steaks were exceptional. It was a great evening and my mate thoroughly enjoyed his birthday dinner. Coming back

What a lovely meal we had. In Windsor for a long weekend and staying near the Windsor Grill. We looked on TripAdvisor and saw the great reviews so thought we’d give the place a go. We were there early so opted for the Early Evening menu offer. And what a great choice that was. All the staff were so very friendly, chatty and attentive throughout our visit. On hand but never pushy. Couldn’t fault them at all. And the food was great. The halloumi and chicken wing starters were excellent. The rump steak was huge and cooked perfectly as was the beetroot risotto. And the vanilla cheesecake was amazing. A proper cheesecake with a hazelnut praline that had you wishing you never finish it. So more-ish. And all of the above for £25 each. Amazing and thoroughly recommended.

Chose the restaurant for a special family birthday and was looking for a nice meal and ambiance. The restaurant was lovely, nice choice of food, cocktails. Service team lovely, friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed our visit very much.

Another perfect meal at the Windsor Grill. Unusually food , on this occasion was chosen from the Valentines specials menu. This proved to be a good choice. As on previous occasions the accompanying wine and service were both of a high standard. To be fair this is not a cheap restaurant but it does provide a consistently good product and remains , in my opinion , one of the best restaurants in the area.

Windsor Grill was splendid. From being seated and served to paying our bill. The food and wine was delicious. Next time I visit Windsor I will most definitely book in again.

We went there on a Thursday at 5.45 I had my choice off the a-la-carte menu and my partner had the early evening menu. Other than the price it was difficult to see the difference. Having said that it was my choice and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Great place and easy parking.

We have a fantastic dinner at Windsor Grill !! Ivana, our server , was absolutely amazing from her hospitality, to her care through constantly checking up on us through our meal. All staff were quite attentive and food was so fresh and hot, which was delightful.

Very strong restaurant but on the expensive side. The meat was as tender as I have ever had. The vegetables were sublime and were the highlight for me. Service was warm and impeccable. Having not been before we thought may be a bit stuffy, dress code etc, but certainly wasn’t the case. Wouldn’t go for trainers, but shirt/ polo and jean would be fine. Seemed to welcome kids and its a relaxed atmosphere. Wine was excellent. With hindsight would go for an individual steak cut next time.

Wow what an amazing place. I had just had the honour or receiving my MBE at the castle and this was the perfect end to an amazing day. We were greeted with Kia Royales ( on the house ). Then from the incredible nibbles of Pork scratchings with apple sauce. ( believe me you’ve never had better ). Starters were amazing, soup, mushrooms in garlic sauce on bruschetta, scotch eggs cooked to perfection ( flavour of the day was curry) the look on my grand daughter face said it all. Mmmmmmmmmm. Main meals of calves liver, fillet steak in peppercorn sauce and chicken breast in a lovely sauce. We all said it was faultless, amazing superb….. then onto desserts. A starting dessert for two ( should have been for 4 ). Every item exquisite including the Christmas pudding ice cream, crème brûlée, Elton mess, almond tart and more. The Italian Waitrose, sorry didn’t catch her name, was a real bonus as my daughter and granddaughter had come over from Italy. Chatting in Italian, explaining Italian grammar ( for my granddaughter) and soooooo attentive. This place is a must if you are in or around Windsor.

My first visit to Windsor Grill and it was fabulous! Warmly greeted by all staff and there for my daughter’s 21st birthday celebration meal. All staff members were attentive, food was exquisite and looking forward to visiting again! The atmosphere is cosy and great advice on pairing wine with food. Special shout out to Marta who took such good care of us.

After touring Windsor Castle, what a fantastic way to end the day by going to Windsor Grille. Just a short walk from the castle, the cozy restaurant is beautiful, very clean, well-appointed, has an excellent staff and very innovative and capable chef. The front-of-house manager Dilon made us feel comfortable and made sure everything was perfect.

Best steak in Windsor I've been coming here regularly for years and came again last week. The steak is consistently excellent, with really friendly service and great sides. Can definitely recommend. It's worth every penny.

Very similar in style and presentation to Côte Brasserie. I had steak tartare to start but it had barely any seasoning, let alone all the other condiments that were missing with no egg yolk in sight, and served with stale crisps and a random long hair. My sirloin steak was okay but the tomato, onion, and basil salad was very disappointing. The house malbec was good and service friendly. The atmosphere was cosy.

Booking the restaurant up until the day of the event was smoothless. Nothing was too much trouble. Great restaurant, choice of food vast, cooked perfectly, attention to detail was on point and the staff were amazing. We were a group of 35 and all the orders were correct. Just happened to pop into this restaurant unplanned, looking for a family friendly restaurant. We were met by a lovely and friendly waiter. With my dietary restrictions I am limited to seafood and vegetarian so I opted for their grilled Argentinian prawns amd chips. Everything was cooked perfectly, the prawns were not rubbery like other places, quite succulent, and the amount I got for £25 was a lovely surprise. On to dessert, being a visitor to the UK and wanting to try british cuisine I had the Eton Mess which was quite delicious. Would definitely visit here again. Essentially, great and friendly staff, delicious food, first class service.

On the whole it was a good meal. The blackened prawns were of a very good quality. I thought the steak was of a decent enough quality without being top quality. Service throughout was pleasant enough. There are some niggles they need to get right. For example when I am spending £40 on a steak and ask for mustard I don't expect a plastic Colman's bottle to be plonked on the table. That being said food was 7/10 and had a nice evening.

This restaurant was recommended by the hotel staff where we were staying. Good recommendation. We ordered off their early menu which offered good choices at very good prices. The food and service were very good. The only reasons for not giving five stars: 1. we were seated at a table in the corner of the back of the restaurant although the front of the restaurant had plenty of space; 2. A pet peeve- great service during the meal but took quite a while to get the bill.

The best steak in Windsor, definitely better than Meat at the Parish which is more upmarket but the steak can be a bit hit and miss. Would strongly recommend the rib chop. Staff are super friendly and the service is top notch.

Birthday dinner for a friend and her husband. Really appreciated the birthday cocktail she was given! Service excellent as always. We had the early bird evening menu which is very good value. Three of us had the tempura battered fish - delicious. My husband had the rump steak which in the past has been very good, but this evening, it was very tough. We know rump can be tough, but my husband likes it because of the flavour. On our previous visits, the steak has been so good, but not that evening. Desserts were delicious, and my husband loved his starter of chicken livers.

I had visited the restaurant a few years ago and been disappointed, but everything was excellent this time. The service was very friendly and efficient. The food was served at the right moment and was very good quality. Bear in mind this is an excellent quality steak house and so there is little apart from steak on the menu (there was a chicken dish). The choice of wines was reasonably full and the wine we chose very good. The tables were placed far enough apart that one didn't feel cramped, despite the setting being like comfortable old pub style large lounge. Despite the warning on the booking site that you were only allocated one and a half hours per sitting, there was no pressure to hurry the meal - I suggested this warning be removed from the booking site as it could put people off. Anyway, thoroughly recommended.

Well I was glad I did my research and walked a little way from the main streets . Windsor Grill is a gem . The staff are lovely and it’s a smart venue too. Moving onto the food . Two menus an early offer for two or three courses and the main menu . My husband had the halibut and I had the chicken . Both dishes were delicious and great portion size . The Eton Mess ( well one has too) was yummy ! A very delightful meal so if you are visiting Windsor like us . Just walk that extra little bit and you will not be disappointed . Thank-you . The menu had a fantastic choice and the food was delicious! Food presentation was beautiful with an amazing wine list to choose from. Staff were exceptional, service was amazing and staff made you feel special. Steaks were incredible and cooked exactly to your preference d free definitely recommend the fillet - pure heaven, was like cutting through butter - credit to the chef!! Small and intimate restaurant, so nice to have an independent and quality place to eat and enjoy!

We visited pre theatre so chose from the shortened menu which has two courses for £20. Great food, very good value for money and service.

The place to go for fine dining, service and intimacy in Windsor. Highly recommend the Gavi di Gavi on the wine list. The owner knows their wines, and not just the reds.

We were slightly early next due to the venue not having a waiting area, we went to a local pub. This was following by an obvious eye roll, by we assume the manager, when she realised we were early. However the service staff were friendly and attentive. However, the back room where we ate was cramped, and conversations at other tables were intrusive. The starters and the steaks were well cooked. However the presentation of the sides in a standard bowl did not match the prize tag. £200 for three people, 2 starters, a bottle of wine, a soft drink, and 3 steaks and salad sides was a bit steep for the experience. I don’t mind paying a premium for a good evening but unfortunately our experience was quite poor,

Lovely independent steak restaurant. Food was full of flavour and well presented. Prawns, and duck fritta starters were delicious. Chateaubriand not as melt in the mouth as I hoped but good nonetheless, home made chips a great accompliment. The chocolate mousse with my brownie dessert was so good, and the mango cheesecake got a 9.75 out of ten review from my companion! Staff were all friendly and lovely and the restaurant is decorated well. Great cocktail too! Would recommend and definitely go back if in the area again. A great find :-)

So a birthday dinner. We booked for 7pm, arrived 10 minutes early. We were sat at table quickly and asked about a drink order. That was dealt with menu's given, then we sat for around 15-20 minutes until our order was taken. I ordered the salted squid ,it was ok ish. Little over cooked and chewy ,little bland. My wife and daughter had fairly good starters. The plates taken quickly after we finished. Then mains came out , I had 16oz rump with mashed potatoes and some mushrooms and greens on the side. The steak was very nice cooked well, the mash was ok ish, veg was all good. My wife and daughter had the fillet steak, this was cooked ok, the Medium Rare was more Blue, but my wife liked it. She had the triple cooked chips ( very nice ) my daughter the fries (not bad). We finished our meal and were offered desserts. My wife and daughter had Eton mess with a Windsor twist... this wasn't great, apparently tasted artificially sweet . I had a single scoop of vanilla icecream. They charged the three scoop price only £3.. but it's the principle of it. So we had 3 starters, 3 mains, two sides. And one and a half desserts. All for just over £180... Will we go back. Probably not, far to many others to try and it wasn't amazing.

Best meal we have had out in ages. Went for the early dinner set menu which was great value at £20 for two courses. The steak was amazing (rump can be tough but this was like butter). Dessert, poached peach, was outstanding. We were particularly impressed with the service which was warm, friendly and very attentive. Couldn't have asked for more.

The food was good but we weren’t happy that a waitress insisted in asking why we refused to pay service charge, which was optional! She was doing her own job in providing a standard service. Why did we have to pay extra for her own job? We’ve answered we don’t usually pay it and she still insisted. Won’t go again.
