Wimpy in Spelthorne

Was very disappointed came to Ashford Surrey to visit my best friend.I thought it would be like the old wimpy bars.No fryed onions just a bog standard burger.No milk shakes.I had a cola float 😩 definitely not like I remember.Wont be going there again

First time here wow it was great . Very impressed spotlessly clean food was great very good service from the staff as well, will definitely be back . It’s really worth a visit .

Absolutely terrible!! £11.45 for a cheeseburger and chips in Wimpy Ashford high st asked for cheeseburger with onion and tomato got only onion separate plate with tomato burger was cold in the middle sent it bk they reheated the same burger!! Definitely wouldn’t recommend it!! Didn’t get the choice of white or brown roil they just gave brown!! Roll was stale as you can see in the picture!!

This is my go-to place when I visit Ashford. It is spotlessly clean. The food is fabulous, freshly made and hot (it hasn't been sitting around) and the staff are friendly and welcoming.. I can't praise it highly enough!

One of the smartest, most updated Wimpy restaurants I’ve ever seen. Very clean and tidy premises indeed. Service was rapid and Quarter Pounder with Bacon and Fish Finger Burger were both very good indeed.

It is a long time since I've been to a wimpy (they aren't many left) we used to love a wimpy, not any more! Never again This will be the last time we go to a wimpy, the burgers were vile, they had a strange taste the tiny bit of I assume were meant to be fried onion were nothing like fried onion taste less, no red onion in the burgers as described in the menu. The coffee ☕ was equally horrible, more like dish water. Definitely NOT the original wimpy burger 🍔. A total waste of money. The burgers junction beside Ashford Station do lovely burgers where you can get lots of different fillings.

As usual great food and friendly staff loving the refurb looks fresh and vibrant. Had my usual pork bender and chips and it was divine

I've always enjoyed Wimpy, but haven't been for ages, so was pleasantly surprised to visit today and find the restaurant has been refurbished with new leather style booth seating and decor . Looks impeccably clean and fresh. The staff here are always attentive and polite. Call me old fashioned, but I do seem to enjoy my food more when eaten off a plate! Will definitely be back.

Decided to try the wimpy hamburger for the first time and it was tasty! Nothing special but tasty. Had the cheeseO rings too which were delicious!

Hadn’t been in a Wimpy for many years, and was pleasantly surprised that it hasn’t changed much, although the Wimpy Beefeater man was no longer a feature! (I said it was many years). It was not busy and we were provided with menus as soon as we sat down. I ordered the Wimpy kingsize burger & fries for main, and a Eskimo Waffle for dessert. Burger arrived and was hot, and, looked almost like the picture on the menu. Good sized portion of fries to go with it as well. Managed to clear my plate and just found enough room for the delicious dessert. Washed it down with a cup of reasonable coffee all for around £15. Restaurant was spotless and staff were polite and efficient. Would go again.

Good honest food at reasonable prices that you eat in. Tables are clean. Never really seen this place ultra busy so always a pleasure to eat here.

Had lunch here with wife and mother and had a really nice meal which was a surprise, as was not sure what to expect. Service friendly and fast. Everyone enjoyed there meals This place was spotlessly clean which it all restaurants should be! Would defo use again

We have eaten here a few times here as my son is a really fussy eater and like going here This place is spotlessly clean Toilets very very clean Food is always piping hot and fresh Staff all very friendly And all very well reasonably priced

So went to addlestone a few weeks bag with my 82 year old aunty and her friend who is 81 and they both fancied a burger for lunch so we went to wimpey they couldn’t of been nicer so polite caring and helpful only giving my aunt a small portion as she has a small appetite the food was lovely rounded off with an Ice. Cream which they both adored and the customer service was excellent I think they’ll be regulars from now on

The loss of the Wimpy...not this one.....all the others, is nothing less than a national tragedy. Far superior to the other burger “ chains” , home of the “ bender” , the Wimpy grill, , the smell of frying onions .....the Wimpy is a source of nostalgia, romance, a simpler time when what was important was getting a nice thin patty and a big pile of chips. PLEASE can they open one in Kensington? I’d guarantee three visits a week.

Breakfast and coffee, fantastic value for money and fantastic service. Restaurant was very clean and we felt very welcomed. Breakfast was tasty.

Unchanging and ever reliable. Attentive staff and freshly cooked food. The best milkshakes. A proper blast from the past.

I prefer Wimpy to the other burger chains. There is a little more class at Wimpy and the food is lovely.

It's been a tear since our last visit can't think why. The service is excellent the food fresh tasty and served with a smile and nothing seems to be too much. Good old fashioned dinning.

We went here as a treat for my daughter but we all had a great lunch.

Everything we tasted tasted of chlorine, it made us very poorly and there’s no way we would recommend this place to anyone and definitely would not go back ever

Wimpey in Ashford always serves great food .the staff are really friendly nothing to much trouble for them there service is great. Dont believe me well go and give them a try

Visited with my Mum for Lunch after shopping, Car parking outside which is convienent instead of having to park a distance away. Staff were friendly, welcoming and gave a great service. Food was fresh and delicious. Will definitely be coming back again and will spread the word to others. 10/10.

Came here for breakfast on a weekday and cooked fresh for you. Not long to wait. Good quality and tasty English breakfast with black coffee. Very reasonable price. Clean restaurant. Friendly service.

I visited here for lunch and had the half pounder with chips (a very rare off diet day)!!! It immediately transported my back to my childhood and I savoured every mouthful. I then shared a brown derby for old times sake and that too was amazing. The waiter was lovely, so welcoming, friendly and well informed!! I will definitely visit again when I am off diet!!

Dropped in for breakfast on a whim one day a couple of years ago, have been going back with my partner every Saturday or Sunday since, whenever the opportunity arises. Very smart and spotlessly clean environment, friendly staff who recognise us as regulars and the breakfasts are tasty, lovely and fresh.

The title explains it all really. I visited with my family. The food was dry and took a long time coming out (the restaurant was not busy at the time). The staff didn't seem too helpful or quick when we asked for simple things like mayonnaise and more tissue b

Visité ayer para el almuerzo con mi pareja, como siempre tuvimos una experiencia maravillosa en nuestro local Wimpy. El personal es amable y atento, el director es muy amable. Él tomó nuestra orden rápidamente y nos trajeron las bebidas.

Buen lugar honesto y sirven un excelente desayuno inglés a precios fantásticos. El personal es siempre amable y tratamos de venir aquí dos veces al mes. Ambiente limpio y la comida es de buena calidad a precios asequibles. Aparcamiento gratuito en la calle alta si lo consigues.

We come here for lunch reasonably often. The restaurant is clean and spacious, and the staff are very friendly and attentive without being pushy. The food is always freshly prepared and tasty. So much nicer than McDonald's or Burger King. I'm sure we will be back soon.

Good service, pleasant staff, clean and spacious. No rush comfortable seating. Fresh cooked food that you can hear being cooked, large cappuccino was huge breakfast was well cooked and delicious.

I go here to meet friends in Ashford its always clean the food is good & good proportions, always freshly cooked, waiters are very helpful, service is usually quite prompt. The toilets are always clean, free newspapers to read, 2 hours free parking outside.

Went to Wimpy today for lunch and as usual it was very nice. It's is always clean in the restaurant and there are two large tvs in the wall, which usually show either the news or music channels.We were given menus when we got in after choosing our table, we ordered drinks and mains in one go and had our drinks promptly brought over. My partner ordered the chicken filet burger and I had the cod and chips. The food was brought out quickly after ordering and was very nice. My fish had no bones in, the chips were nice and you get a portion of peas too. It is served with tartar sauce and a lemon wedge.Our plates were collected promptly when we had finished and we were offered dessert. My partner had a Brown Derby (warm donut with ice cream, chocolate sauce and copped nuts on top) while I had a sundae, I asked the server if he could put on extra marshmallows (a 40p extra charge) and boy did he deliver with extra piled on. The staff, even though it appears their English is adequate, they are friendly and the restaurant manager is friendly and always asks how I am when I go in.Wimpy in Ashford never disappoints, it is good food reasonably priced in a clean environment, the toilets are clean and fresh too.They do take away but I haven't tried it yet.A good place for lunch or dinner.

Always spotlessly clean with very efficient and friendly staff. Went with husband and two grandchildren for breakfast. Really well cooked tasty food. We all ate every scrap! Highly recommended.

It's a lovely alternative to McDonald's. You feel a bit special when a waiter serves you in a 50's style booth.My kids love it and their Aunt takes them there regularly for a treat.Something a little different!

This is the best Wimpy I have been to. They sell a lovely quorn chicken burger for the vegetarians. Good service, very clean and friendly staff.

I stopped here for lunch the food was ok for a fast food restaurant and cooked to order the staff were ok but struggled with English the restaurant is clean and well presented

wimpy sell a lot of things that are good for kids and the food is nice also the food doesnt take long at all but i think they need to improve there cold drinks

I've visited this particular wimpy a few times and have never had any problems. Good service, polite and quick. Excellent value for money, nice food.However, after a long family day out with our little one we needed somewhere quick and convenient for our evening meal. We stopped by Wimpy half an hour before closing to be greeted with glares and shakes of heads from the staff! They had begun cleaning the main seating area and informed us at first that we could not order any food, when we queried this we were told we could order food but would have to take it away.This wasn't the service we expected so left hungry and went to McDonald's (who's service was fantastic)The staff on this occasion clearly wanted to close early and go home! Will think twice about returning.

I haven't been in a Wimpy for years so wasn't sure what to think. I was in Ashford with wife and nipper and saw the logo and somehow went back many years in my mind and felt compelled to go in. My expectations were to write some scathing review about a scruffy dirty place with unintelligible staff and food swimming in dirty grease to have my childish memories brought horribly into 2016.Wasn't the case at all. Firstly the place looked really clean and new and the other people in there were ok. Couldn't be more than 5 years old.The man serving was really pleasant and we ordered two Qtr Pounders and chips (not fries but chips ) and had a shake and onion rings . They were exactly as I would expect and really quite enjoyable. Fresh bun, fresh salad and not a bad patty. The Wimpy brand revival makes sense to me. They sit between Mc Donald's / Burger King and the more up market Gourmet Burger chains really well on price point and quality .The food feels cooked /served by humans and not corporate robots and has a place. As its the only visit I have had to a Wimpy in at least 15 years I wonder if they maintain the consistency that the Maccers does I would hope so.One thing about the Golden Arches is globally they are like for like . I remember having a awful Wimpy about 20 years ago and thought they has disappeared but they seem to have come back. Someone in that company has seen a slot for them.In some ways Gourmet burger Co. is a more quality product but I kind of enjoyed my Wimpy nostalgia for what it was. got exactly what I thought I would get and that's saying something today. I am still going to buy the occasional £15 burger from Bodeans or the like or my local pubs homemade one which is gastro and sloppy burger heaven but I might just pop in the odd Wimpy every now and again.If there was a strip of shops and it was KFC,Wimpy,BK,McD etc I would go back to Wimpyville as it was enjoyable.Enjoy

went here for coffee with a friend. didn't have any food , although they have a good variety and they show how many calories on each dish and drink. nothing grabbed us ( perhaps more healthy options?). spacious area, staff are friendly and not pushy. pleasant atomsphere

It's a chain diner, probably little they can do to "delight" customers & bet there's huge pressure to make profits, so unsure if the meats are fresh..

Visited the Wimpy with my family. Great food, so much better quality than McDonald's. Service was good and it was clean. Nice to be able to sit down with knives and forks unlike other fast food places

Whenever my boyfriend comes down on a Sunday we come to wimpy. Their service is brilliant always smiley and welcoming. They serve you straight away asking if you would like any drinks, as we are regulars they talk to us about my boyfriends bike and about our day. There food is very tasty and you get a big portion for the price. There "special sauce " literally completes the meal. And their puddings are good too I prefer their ice cream than the harvesters as it's more creamy. Never had a bad experience or bad food. One happy customer :)

I had burger and chips here and to be honest it was so expensive and it is sub standard food and it tasted horrible.The gormet burger in walton on thames opposite home base in walton is far better and cheaper bileive it or not.

Tasted just as awful as l remember as a teenager, l dread to think what is in them. I was hoping they where 100% beef but had the taste and smell of a burger van burger. Be warned!!! If you want a good burger try Gourmet Burger in Walton.

Staff here aren't as chatty and friendly as the staff in the Wimpy at Addlestone, but they're always polite and serve you quickly.

Visited with some mates and got a burger, chips and a milkshake. The food was very nice and the milkshakes were large and delicious. It was quite expensive for a small meal but what I've come to expect from fast-food restaurants such as this. Friendly staff and a nice looking place.

A quick lunch bite.. Good quick service. Waiter's english was terrible so they cooked the wrong food.. That said it was hot and fresh. A minor problem we couldn't be bothered to rectify. Clean and friendly place, nice atmosphere and variety of people.

Pros: polite staff. Clean restaurant. Huge portion of fries. Cons: price. I feel for what it really is, it is quite expensive. I had a cheeseburger meal with milkshake, which was £6.95. Would I eat here again...? Probably, however, I wouldn't make it my first choice.

5 of us went for a meal today here. Was a bit apprehensive after looking at the previous reviews, but was pleasantly surprised. We had a couple of burger orders and a toasted sandwich order. All the food came out in a reasonable time, was hot and there was plenty of it. We also ordered desserts one being the toffee sponge which was so big we had to share. I would come again.

Awful ! £22 for two awful meals of sub standard food with a hair thrown in ! Burgers tasteless, sausage horrible. Soggy salad. Cold fatty bacon. The only good bit was a generous portion of acceptable chips. Found a hair in the onion rings but when I complained it was like 'spot the worried look' Once liked Wimpy many years ago but won't be returning. I can get a top quality Indian takeaway for the same price. Disappointed :(

Had a excellent meal with family, kids also love it in here, great service, great food, always worth a visit, burgers were great always prefer them to Mcdonalds although its a bit more expensive than Mcdonalds its worth every penny! Will defo be back again!

We went as a family of three at my daughters insistence, we had two quarter pounders with chips and a children's mealThe burgers looked as though they were cheap frozen burgers, not meaty looking but anaemic thin and cheap looking. They tasted as much tooThe meal was not cheap but the quality of good is, the service and staff are very attentive but let down by the foodAround 4 hours after eating I had a terrible stomach upset and sickness - I cannot guarantee it was the wimpy but a very big coincidenceI would not eat here or at another wimpy again, go to M2 pizza pasta down the road it's fab there

I know, you probably wouldn't expect a review here for a fast food outlet, but my view is if it's nice, it's worth it. This wimpy branch in Ashford High Street, Ashford Middlesex is brilliant. Good food, served quickly in clean premises by polite staff. You can't ask for much more really. Good to see wimpy returning to the high street. Beats the cardboard served up at macs.

Just like the old wimpy friendly quick and easy . Good take away for quick dinner . Staff good . Tv in shop . Clean . Big area so u dont sit on top of people . Helpfull . What else do u need from a wimpy .

The menu is fairly limited but for this sort of basic grub I think you are better off in a traditional cafe which are normally more keenly priced.Wimpey doesn't really do too much wrong but it also doesn't do anything really well, hence a rating of 3

When I was a kid, there were always lots of Wimpy's around, not so anymore. When we were viewing houses in Ashford, we popped into this branch, as we'd both said how long it had been since we had visited one! Apparently, this is quite a new one, and that's one thing I really like about Ashford's high st...no Burger King or McDonalds (long may it remain so). Wimpy's is a British company, so it's good to support it.So, now I've been living in Ashford for a few months, we have popped into Wimpy's several times now. The people who work there are really welcoming, friendly and attentive. If you have a request, they'll try to sort it out for you!The restaurant is clean and bright, with funky 50s diner style booths and large tables to accommodate groups or a family.The first time I went, I succumbed to a cheese and onion toastie. It was so good to see something like this on the menu, and not only that it was a bargain! We've never made it to Breakfast yet, but I've since enjoyed a brunch sandwich, a Wimpy burger and most importantly....THE THICK STRAWBERRY SHAKE!!! They also do soda floats that I have not seen on a menu since the 80s, so I am looking forward to trying again!I can't fault it, food is freshly cooked to order and of course, this is no GBK nor a fancy restaurant, but if you are after fast food with service and a welcoming smile (not what you get in BK or MDs!), this Wimpy wins hands down!

I haven't been to Wimpy since I was a little boy so I thought I'd pop in and give it a go. The staff were very attentive and efficient, the place was clean and tidy.The food! Oh no! My burger was awful, really awful. Think Tesco Basics burger in a brown bag with a few wisps of lettuce and onion, a slice of processed cheese and some kinda-big-mac-sorta sauce. 6 onion rings, Tesco Basic-style again.The milkshake was pretty good I guess... but didn't really taste of chocolate and was like sweetened milk.Total cost: About £7.50Also the ambiance is terrible. The only sound in the restaurant right now is frying fat, a really noisy fan and BBC news on the two massive televisions. If I get a fast food craving in future, I'll definitely skip Wimpy.

Have eaten here 5 or 6 times. The food is always piping hot and freshly cooked,nothing is too much trouble for the staff and the place is spotless. Personally I'm not a big fan of the burgers so I always have the scampi and chips priced at £5.65, you would pay about that at a chippy for a takeaway, and its delicious. It's dearer than mcdonalds I admit but if you are looking for a reasonably priced lunch/dinner I would say give it a go. Apparently they do two for one breakfasts which are very good as well.

It's wimpy... Not Jamie Oliver's lol you get what you pay for... Or do you?Being quite expensive you would have thought the food you get in Wimpy would be mind blowing.... Trust me... It's not!Bog standard, average, mass produced food. The nice thing about this wimpy is the staff. They make you feel comfortable and are genuinely decent people. I wouldn't say it was a negative food experience hence I would say it was big standard / average.

Probably THE worst meal I've had in a long time, rather eat in McDonald's every day of the week!Have some really fond memories of wimpy and it's certainly changed.It was pretty empty when we went in and it didn't have a nice smell. Couldn't eat the burger as it was a soggy bun, the staff were nice but that was in £16 for synthetic, nasty food.

I WENT TO WIMPY WITH SOME FRIENDS ONE DAY AND THE FOOD WAS OVER PRICED AND TASTED DISGUSTING NEVER AGAIN! We all ordered an average Burger as we thought it would be the most simple choice, but it turns out that i was wrong and it took ages to finally get served to us cold and disgusting. so over-priced aswell
