I think it was my first time at Wimpy, and the Waitress - Meg - was soooooo nice and helpful! Burger was delicious, great hot chocolate, and I ordered dessert for later! I'll definitely come back here again soon!

I ordered the food which tasted good. But the price was far to expensive. For four portions of chessy chips and four milk shakes and some chicken bites. Costed 45 pounds. Went after this and it was a lot better would highly recommend.

Had not had a wimpy for 20 years, very excited to try, the food did not let down, was lovely and just as remembered, the staff had a nightmare and got our order wrong three times, but dealt with it well and professionally and in the end had a nice time, would definitely go back (hopefully not have such bad luck with order)

We use wimpy in Worthing regularly and experience has always been very good with friendly staff and good service. However today we visited and asked for a cup of tea and was told you have to have a pot of tea. I explained that my husband has had a stroke and unable to lift a tea pot so could we have a tea bag in a cup and was told sorry no. It's true I could have poured tea from pot for him but he does not like anyone doing things for him not even me. We even said that we would pay for pot if tea but just want a tea bag in a cup.

I am pleased to say that wimpy has not changed over the years, clean restaurant, friendly staff and great food cooked to order at a reasonable price. Thank you wimpy please don't ever change

I have lived in Worthing for 10 years and walked past Wimpy hundreds of times, but today is the first time I went inside. The thing is this restaurant is enormous once you are inside and possibly the longest restaurant in Worthing.I had a vegetarian breakfast and although not haute cuisine I enjoyed it greatly. They have a lot of great offers like 2 desserts for less than £5. I really enjoyed having table service and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The toilets are modern but need a bigger fan being so enclosed. They have vegetarian options so I am looking forward to coming back and having a vegetarian burger. Worth a visit if you have never been before.

Spent £9 on a burger and fries. Came out fast enough but what arrived was very plain and boring. Undercooked soggy fries, and a burger full of wilting shredded lettuce and zero flavour. Whilst I finished everything I left hungrier than when I went in. The food did not feel substantial in any way. Seems odd that such a high street staple can't keep up with all the better burger places that have popped up. Five Guys doesn't do anything complicated and they're leagues ahead.

Great place quality staff, Amelia, Tom the Trainee, El and the boss all know what top class customer service is. Our group of three only had tea and a plate of chips but the service was top notch Well done Wimpy Worthing.

Food tasted ok but it arrived almost stone cold. Not impressed. Delivery time was good and the vegan option was nice overall, but ruined by the temperature.

I was served by a very polite small ginger. The service was the best I’ve had in my life so thanks to the little ginger.

Please keep places like this going during the pandemic. They have really organised things here, and you can eat really well. The staff make you feel welcome.

I'm so Impressed with how serious the staff at the Wimpy are taking the Covid situation. The preparation, hygiene and organizing is 100%.The staff are excellent, so polite, friendly and accommodating. The manager is also very nice and approachable. Kudos to a sometimes forgotten eating place....oh and my spicey bean burger was gorgeous

We've been here plenty of times and wanted to return on the last day of the eat out to help out, Normally the service has been good and food has been okay but unfortunately todays experience has been not so good.We turned up as a family to meet our friends, shown to the table, given a reduced menu, we all chose something of it, I had the all day breakfast, ordered drinks and these came swifly, then followed by the food, after our main we decided we'd have desserts, when our plates we're taken away I asked for a menu, waited and waited, no menu arrived, went up to a member of staff to get one, we finally got this, we decided on what we wanted, waited for a member of staff to come up to the table, this didn't seem to happen, yes it was busy but plenty of staff, we waited for some time, our friends decided to leave as there kids were playing up so we stayed, still waited then ours were getting bored, we then got fed up with waiting so I went to the front counter to pay, if it wasn't for the discount anyway from the eat out to help out I'd be complaining but seen as we got this it was a good enough deal.I don't know what was going on tonight but the service was non existent and some what shocking, customer service was applauding, I only gave it a poor because we were actually fed, if it was any different I'd be scoring it a terrible.We've been here plenty of times before lockdown and we've always had a good experience so I can't understand what went on, tonight experience was very poor and I wish I never bothered going.

Absolutely cannot believe the price I was charged for a Wimpy hamburger meal and a cheeseburger meal, both with milkshakes, which seemed to have an extra 60p charge on them. We had six mozzarella sticks as well and the total came to £26.08. The delivery charge was £4.49 plus an extra .49p for service charge - whatever that's for! What a rip off, nearly £5.00 for delivery, which we thought we saw online was £2.95. Won't be ordering again from any of these courier services.

Now Wimpy isn't renowned for being a cool or trendy place so I parked round the back and luckily spotted someone opening the fire exit so we snuck in the back door to avoid any lingering paparazzi.The manager seemed to take a dim view on this and instructed a waitress to check that the door was locked after she greeted us and gave us dealers choice of tables. We grabbed a booth near the kitchen because I like to see what's going on and it did provide some much needed atmosphere to the place because there is no music playing. The long but narrow restaurant is styled like a down played American diner with lots of bright red branding everywhere and if your one there regulars you probably would enjoy the big flat screen TVs showing the news with subtitles on, an idea stolen straight from Weatherspoons. There was quite a large selection of burgers on the menu however alot of them were the same thing just doubled or even tripled up You could even customise your own, Bender Sausage anyone? I ordered a Quarter pounder club, Sam a regular quarter pounder, Greg a half pounder and Tom the full on king-size burger.All the staff were very attentive and polite checking up on us regularly, even making casual conversation which amused me.The food came out quickly all at the same time and was served on actual plates with cutlery provided. Real Mayo was available on request but appeared rationed in the plastic cups they were served in and all the other condiments were swapped out by a waiter just to be certain that we had everything we needed. We all agreed that the food tasted good and was cooked to a great standard, however some gripes were over too much ketchup already inside the burger bun (king-size burger comes with inside). The patties were a bit thin on the ground and not much in the way of seasoning. I enjoyed the quarter pounder club very well because of the cheeky chicken breast thrown in with some of their special sauce which is available to purchase. Sweet potato fries were available but I do enjoy the crunch of regular skinny fries that are becoming a bit of a rare breed these days.We were offered the dessert menu or more drinks whilst the plates were cleared. Although some of us took offence to waiters clearing the table whilst some of us were still eating, I wasn't phased. A strange commodity and I'm not sure if I agree with it is that you pay at the till before you leave rather than having the transaction done at your table. In some ways this is good because there is no waiting around to get anyone's attention and on the other hand it sort of ruins the end of a very pleasant eat in table service experience. Perk was that you could pay individually for just what you ordered which is an easy way to avoid having to going Dutch if you're that way inclined.

Very clean friendly staff and chatty made you feel welcome. All were busy doing things either serving, taking orders to tables. Tables were cleared quickly and wiped down. Even one fella was cleaning all the high chairs which you don’t see in restaurants. All look like they have been trained to a high standard

We have visited this Wimpy branch on a number of occasions since moving to the area and the service has been consistently good. The food is beautifully presented, of top quality ingredients and best of all really tasty! I have had everything from the classic dishes to a jacket potato and the quality has been the same across the menu.

Even though the place was absolutely packed the service was excellent and the food came out quickly.

Stopped in here on way back to car park it reminds me of when I was a kid I had a small breakfast which for the price was very good indeed I will definitely be back to reminisce with a burger and fries soon

I've always enjoyed eating at this Wimpy but I'm afraid that on the last occasion I was disappointed with the food. My Wimpy burger was not as tasty as usual, the bun was tasteless and there were hardly any onions in, despite asking for extra when I ordered. I don't think I'll be going here again in a hurry, even though the chips are freshly cooked, hot and not greasy.

Worthing Wimpy is a brilliant cafe ! Every time I have been impressed with the staff ! Very knowledgeable of their products, very enthusiastic ! Always happy in their job and polite, the food is lovely and tasty ! Lovely and clean from the kitchen to the tables

I came here for breakfast with my mum as we were passing through Worthing. We were immediately greeted by friendly staff and our drinks and food were prompt and lovely. Would recommend for an affordable bite.

We went to wimpy worthing for lunch on 1st Jan, burger was awful, so full of gristle I had to send it back. No refund policy!!!! Food very substandard, my husbands meal was very over cooked, staff not bothered, will NEVER patronise a wimpy again. Don't ever waste your money, there are better and cheaper establishments in worthing more worthy!!!!

Recently went here for a pre theatre meal and the food was excellent. The fish and chips were cooked well and fresh and tasty. Coffee was yummy and portions large. Good value for money!

Looking for a quick bite before the theatre the Wimpy looked ideal, busy which is always a good sign, so a trip down memory lane and what a surprise good food and reasonable prices, burgers with fries and a really good side salad and a lot of it, good service will be back to the WIMPY asap.

We were visiting Worthing today and decided to try the local Wimpy. Fond memories of having lunch at these places when I was younger. We were in for a surprise and not in a nice way. Burgers were of very poor quality meat and not cooked properly. When we complained, No offer to exchange or refund to the waitress. Again when we went to pay, we were asked if everything was alright to which we explained it wasn't. There response to have the breakfast or something different next time, there would not be a next time as far as we are concerned. Avoid at all costs if you want a proper meaty burger.

As I reviewed this only three months ago there's not much more I can really add that's any different

Staff were friendly and attentive. The food was fresh and very tasty. The seating areas and kitchen both looked clean. This is my second visit to this particular Wimpy and would definitely eat there again !!

Haven't been to a Wimpy for a while, but as well as all the old favourites, they had plenty of new 'healthy' ones. The restaurant was bright, cheerful and spotless, the waitresses very helpful and pleasant, and the whole visit was very enjoyable ☺️

Wished there was still a wimpy in bognor regis as i have to travel to worthing for one. But it's worth it. Had a lovely time with friends and service was 5 star. Food arrived very quick and at a reasonable price.

Came here again on Wednesday evening with our family, both our children love The Wimpy, always a winner, great service again, food is always good and on a budget, why change something that clearly works, we always have a lovely time and a good meal here.

There are many British classics that are no longer around like the Happy Eater, so I am glad Wimpy is still here!

Visited the Worthing branch today as I do regularly with my Mum and a couple of other people, because it is usually has good service and easy for my Mum to feel comfortable with as she suffers from Parkinson's.

I hadn't eaten in a Wimpy's since I was really small so I had overly high nostalgic expectations when we visited, but even so, the experience was 10x better than any McDonalds I've ever been to. The customer service from the staff was absolutely flawless, the serving time was speedy and the food was fresh and crispy. The kitchen looked clean and the restaurant was tidy. I wish there was a Wimpy in my town.

The whole family agrees we love Wimpey. The staff are super nice. Always cheerful and welcoming. Double egg and chips, delicious apple torte and custard, pot of tea all for under £10. Recommend country breakfast, chips hot and plentiful. Veggie options good. It’s a winner especially before a film or after!

I like this restaurant, as I have said, this place is great. The staff are treated with respect, as well as the Customers. I really like their All Day Breakfast as well as their 1/4 pounder with cheese meals. I just like how friendly it is.

Wimpy is so popular that you have to wait for a free table sometimes but it doesn't take more then 5 minutes. Portions are huge and staff is very friendly and helpfull.

My wife and I was out on a Christmas shopping trip in Worthing and decided to have a lunch stack at Wimpy. We were meet by very friendly staff that shows us to a table .Then things started to go down hill .At the back of the restaurant the was an exit door that was opened I kindly asked the waitress if they could close the door only to be told that the air conditioning was broken and they needed to keep the door open.I can't understand why as it was a cold wet and windy day . We ordered our food and according to the menu the burger meals looked so succulent and wholesome. Well the realities of the food was like chalk and cheese my burger looked like it had been run over by a steam roller and the chips had as much taste as eating cat droppings .My wife's meal looked like it had been cooked about hundred times before hand. And the cups of tea was like drinking stewed cats wee .It was so cold in the restaurant it was a nice change to leave the restaurant to warm up .I made a terrible mistake and burp and dropped my guts and found that was hungry within five minutes of leaving the wimpy .Take note guys go a cross to the three fishes instead

This restaurant is bright and clean and the service is excellent. On this occasion, however, although my family members were pleased with their choices, I was very disappointed - my burger was practically cold, the bun fell apart so I had no choice but to eat it with a knife and fork (I prefer to hold it as I always have done before in this establishment), the bun was surprisingly tasteless and there was no noticeable onion in it, even though I had requested extra onion. I sincerely hope this was a 'one-off' as I usually enjoy eating here.

I often pop into the wimpy when out shopping in town and go there with my family. The service and the foodis always good and consistent. Always greeted warmly. reasonable priced and a good place for young families.

Called in the other day for breakfast with my wife and were just commenting on how well run and clean the place was when the unthinkable happened. The manager sat at the table behind us to make a phone call. Whilst on the phone he (absentmindedly...presumably) picked his nose rolled,presumably a bogey, between his thumb and forefinger for a few seconds and then flicked it across the floor!! After finishing the call he then went behind the counter to prepare some food without washing his hands!! Had eaten our meal but made us feel nauseous all the same. Disgusting!!

Visited last night. Needed a tasty, quick meal before drinks then the Theatre. You can always guarantee a warm welcome and good service. A lovely wine spritzer, while we chatted as food was freshly cooked. I had the gourmet chicken platter and love the coleslaw, not that cheap chipped carrot and white cabbage in a watery mess, this is a full on creamy, oniony coleslaw delight. We all had a great meal, simple, clean quick but great care taken and service.

Recently visited Wimpy for lunch as the normal fish & chip place we go to was very busy! Had great fish and chips lunch with plenty of chips, yummy cod and peas all with a free coffee (or pot of tea). Had no room for pudding but my friend had the most exceptional Knicker Bocker Glory! Will definitely be visiting again as the food and service were excellent!

Have been going to this Wimpy since I was a kid, and always remember the same manager being there, always greeting us with a smile. We moved away from the UK about 8 years ago and recently came back. Me and my mum meet here at least twice a month for the same meal. As a hospitality professional myself, this restaurant exceeds expectations on all fronts. You will never find a spec of dust anywhere; and the service from the well trained staff is impeccable- some of the girls know my mum and I by now and never tell us the specials and always say "I suppose you already know what you want". This makes my mum smile every time I love bringing her here. It's rare nowadays to see such high standards and it should really be recognised - will always go back especially now that I live back in Worthing!!

Always take my boys here for a burger and chips might only be a burger but it's a good one lol recommend for family's wanting a quick lunch

Popped in for a late for an early lunch / late brunch whilst in Worthing waiting for our Perodua to be serviced. I didn't realise Wimpy was still a thing. I have memories of there being one in Crawley as I grew up (which, come to think of it, is probably still there) but I had never been in one and was unfamiliar with them.More of a diner with a table service than a fast foot outlet. Service very quick and attentive, good choice on the menu with a lot of offers. Pretty much everything was available all day. We opted for a burger and chips each but as part of a deal which was very substantial, freshly cooked and delicious. We then had lovely deserts, reasonable in price, delivered quickly, and very tasty. No criticisms of the food or staff.The decor was diner-style and there plenty of tables available.All in all very well done. We'll return next time our Perodua needs a service.

I visited with my wife, in a nostalgic whim.I remembered Wimpy from my childhood and remember it being quite special. But that was 25 years ago.The points are awarded purely for the staff and the milkshake. I found the restaurant to be clean, and the service very friendly. The manager seemed to be well in control.Sadly the inescapable fact is, the food quality just isn't very good at all. The burgers were weird, all a bit dry and flavourless. The chips again like cardboard. Felt like poor ingredients rather than poor cooking.Not for me, so will just stick with my memories in future. The price was high considering the burgers are better at mcdonalds. (And that's not a compliment)

Went today for lunch and what disgusting service although busy we were shoved to a end table right at the back of the restaurant and I'm a disabled lady with severe mobility problems and I find walking a prob . But they had tables reserved for ppl . Close to the front and halfway back . I didn't eat as I was in to much pain . Spoke to some one who said they couldn't reserve tables for disabled ppl . Won't visit here again .. The device was bad it was if we were forgotten .

It's a long time since I ate at a Wimpy. Went into this one for lunch on Monday 5 Dec, and was pleasantly surprised. The premises were very clean and the staff polite and friendly. My wife and I opted for the "all day breakfast" with cups of tea. The meal arrived promptly, and was delicious. Two rashers, two sausages, two eggs, beans and grilled tomato, (not those horrible tinned things). Regrettably, the tea was a disappointment, it was rather tasteless. Good value.

Burgers that look how they look on the menu and very nice they are too..,.great choices of Milkshake flavours...and good deals on meals.....glad we have a branch in our town. Spent most of my youth dipping in and out of my then local Wimpy in Streatham, South London....oh the memories!

Called in for lunch while on a day trip to Worthing. Good service and great value. Food quality was fine got the price. Very busy on a Saturday afternoon just before Halloween. Only negative thing was that the staff had gone a bit overboard with the Halloween theme and some of their costumes and makeup weren't suitable for a family restaurant. More suitable for a student night out!

Popped in as hungry and on the nostalgia tip was curious to see if fond memories matched modern day expectations of this once was classic burger chain . Sadly should be banished to the 70's without delay , was awful.Service was good , chips had no potato in them , couldn't eat them. Burger was bouncier than the average beach ball, meat to something apart from meat ratio 10/90. Was painful to eat wondering what on earth it was made of. Place was empty which should have been a warning of what was to come , had the obligatory man in big coat and glasses looking like an a kgb spy from a 70's James Bond film . Wanted it to be great but alas should be left in the past as things have moved on , thankfully .

Prior to seeing a show at the Assembly Halls my wife and I grabbed a quick meal at this Wimpy tonight. The food was typical Wimpy, good, quick and tasty and the staff were friendly and efficient. The restaurant was fairly busy but the staff handled it well. Recommend for a quick, inexpensive meal.

I had not eaten in a Wimpy for many years. During a short holiday in Sussex last week, this was one of the few establishments open at 9.30 a.m. on a Sunday morning and I couldn't resist popping in for old time's sake. The manager and his staff were excellent and the food very reasonably priced and very tasty. The "brown derby" was fantastic!

Upon visiting this establishment today with my fiance i found the place to be clean and well presented with quick and effient service. I got offered a choice of menus which was taken in a quick and relaxed manner. The waitress who served me Amni was really professional and a creditation to this outlet. I found the prices in comparison to how much food you recieved to be great value for money. I was torn between a variety of outlets but the last time i visited this place was about two years ago so needed to return. The portions of food was enough to feed the five thousand i would say as i couldnt finish it but loved the whole experience. I noticed that no matter whether your a local or a traveller visiting worthing for the first time everyone was treated with great respect and treated equal. I would recommend this for anyone wanting great value for money, great atmosphere and if the tables are full go get some more shopping and return at a later time or something as lets face it.. Its definately not like the wimpy of the 1980's we all used to know.. I can honestly say with this review that I do intend to return again in the future and believe that places with this much respect for customer service and the quality of food deserve a good deal of support. Now many reading may ask what if any are any downsides as lets face it every coin has two sides so, the only downside which is a big bug biter of mine... They advertise chips.. Chips that are served are NOT chips they are fries but nice crispy fluffy fries.. So i didnt complain.The choice on the menu is well laid out and clearly understood with two different price brackets... Mainly with or without chips prices.. I tried a milkshake and its thick as anything but not like a cheap dingy mcdonalds milkshake... Almost to the same tradition to do a home made milkshake, i cant gurantee this and maybe someone at this establishment could help but i think it was made with ice cream rather than just pure milk...Overall score 9.5/10
