Wimpy in Bexley

Ordered a burger from here on just eat clearly stating I wanted it totally plain , just the burger nothing else. When it arrived it wasn't plain at all. Mistakes happen but when I phoned the restaurant to explain and get a replacement the person I spoke to was completely obnoxious and rude and said it was my fault I hadn't stated what I wanted when I had done very clearly. After a bit of an argument he then said he was reporting me to the police !I didn't think Wimpys existed any more and if they employ people like this they soon won't !

Me and my wife went here in Bexleyheath for a quick lunch, track and trace in place, 2 types of hand sanitizer available, there is a sliding door, to keep you from the staff to begin with, you are then shown to a table with wipe down menus. The staff are friendly and polite, the food and drink is decent. Sitting down you realise that the sliding door to the outside is always closed unless someone obviously comes through, I’ve been to a few places during this pandemic, but this is the most COVID secure I’ve seen, well done to the management and staff, I will certainly be coming back here again .

My dad used to bring me to this Wimpy when I was a kid so getting on for 40+ years ago. It's still run by the same family and customer care is obviously at the heart of what they do, this must be why it's still going. I popped in around same time last year as well and the manager was introducing two elderly couples to each other who'd both been going for 40+ years as well.The food is still excellent, freshly cooked and very quick to arrive, the menu has expanded but you can still get all the faves. The half pounder is recommended.Makes a change to get freshly cooked food with great service and not just the reheated crap available in the usual fast food joints.If you're ever in Bexleyheath drop in and help keep this long running family business going, they probably been in the Broadway longer than any other business other than Christ Church opposite

Was great to see a wimpy still going. All the ones down the far coast have now long gone. Brought back some memories. Staff here were very polite, greeted with a smile. What I could see was very clean and tidy. Food was good and arrived quickly.My main concern was apart from the guys doing the cooking the serving girls had no hats on, all having long hair, all beit pulled back in ponytail. Other than that a pleasant experience.

This was the place my parents took me for a treat as a kid and the food is still fantastic and this restaurant is still owned and run by the same family. Had to pop in and grab a burger when I was back in the old neighbourhood and it was great to see the restaurant still there and busy as ever. Great food all freshly cooked to order and the prices are reasonable. The staff are friendly and helpful.

This Wimpy restaurant is the best, me & my family love it here. Food is great value, great tasting & cooked fresh. This is a proper restaurant, not fast food. The menu has been updated & the choices are good. The staff & management are always friendly & attentive. We walk in as customers but always leave as friends. Can't say anything negative - maybe if Wimpy sold beer & wine it would get the recognition it deserves?

Been coming here for years and have never had a complaint. The food is always lovely and plenty of options. The staff are always so friendly and attentive. Wish I could give 10 stars!

Thought Wimpys were no more, but what a surprise,tastes as good as ever, the strawberry milkshakes could even be back on my favourite menu

I love wimpy burgers and pop in whenever i can. I love the quarter pounder writh cheese and bacon, but also the frankfurter burger!Its a little expensive but i dont mind as i really enjoy it.Average cost of a meal would be around £13 pp.The family that run it are also lovely.

Been going here for nearly 40 years and its still run by the same family! All the classic Wimpy dishes and grills. You cannot beat the classic Half-pounder on the brown bun though! Wish they would bring back the lime milkshake!

Good staff who are warm and friendly with fabulous service. Food was really disappointing.... burgers were full of gristle... ketchup was not Heinz and sausages were deep fried when cooked and difficult to cut Real shame after reading such fab reviews about this wimpy.

The food is always good here. I've been coming here since 1978 and the food is consistently good and freshly cooked. The service is always excellent and the staff very friendly. So much better than McDonalds or the other fast food outlets.

We are still sitting in Wimpy as I write this review, but I am so impressed that I had to post immediately. Myself and my sister brought our children here after swimming having not been to a wimpy for years. The welcome we received was wonderful, and the children were made to feel so welcome. They catered to the children and made space for our push chair straight away and this service continued. All of the staff were friendly, warm and excellent with the children. I cannot stress this enough. I have been to 5* establishments and not received this level of service. The food was just what it says on the tin, simple and tasty. Extremely happy. Thank you!

This Wimpy restaurant is well run, spotless & great value for money. Been here a few times over the years & always enjoy the food. The menu is varied over the years but the quarter pounder with cheese & chips is always a favourite. They now have also added sweet potato fries & chicken wings to the menu. I also had my usual Brown derby (warm doughnut, ice-cream, chocolate sauce & nuts) for dessert. Five stars!!

Was looking for somewhere walking back to the office. Have not been in a Wimpy for years and decided to check it out.

Very clean and staff were really lovely and friendly. Toilet was very clean. Food was good and you could see them cooking it from fresh. Good veggie options as well. Had a ice smoothie which was really good as well.

Fantastic food very customer service driven lovely place to eat with a very good atmosphere highly recommended.

Loved visiting the Wimpy when i was younger so i thought i would bring the children here but on arrival thought it was very cliquey. We sat down and i noticed that the prices have increased quite a bit but as a treat we ordered but when the food arrived there was a hair in one of the meals. Not wanting to complain I left this on the table napkin in view. The plates were being taken from the rest of the table whilst they were still eating. The shakes did not look or taste what we ordered therefore I would certainly would not return or recommend, many other places to eat in the High Street.

Me and the wife used to love going to Wimpys in the 70's - used to go every week and enjoyed the Wimpy Special Grill every time! Thought we would try this Wimpey for lunch and see if they were still as good.

Wife was in the hairdressers almost opposite so I took the opportunity to fill my belly, food quick, well cooked and tasty

I love a good Wimpy. I order cod and fries and as always it’s good. Not much else to say, drink was also fine.

We have been here several times over several years & at different times this time it was a Wednesday night quite late 8.45 or so and as always the restaurant was impeccably clean, the manager as always was in attendance and greets every customer with a very friendly welcome and the staff are always polite and if there is anything they can do for you they will from helping with Buggy/wheelchair seating or recommending something on the menu they give a very personal and professional service so much so that the manager & staff would not look out of place in a West End restaurant. The food is hot and tasty better than other burger restaurants and a much nicer menu I cannot praise this restaurant and staff enough.

Popped in with the girlfriend for a quick munch on fireworks night, great quick friendly service, lovely fresh hot food, nice cheap bill.. Happy days.

Great Wimpy, run by same family for many years, still providing good food and excellent service years later.

I've used this place on and off for over twenty years the guy I presume owns is nearly always in attendance and ensure you enjoyed your meal. Ok it's not michellin but it's not the prices either. Nice restaurant always clean. Top burger bar.

You know when you go in that what you get will be just what you are expecting, Okay they change the menu every now and again, but It is still as good today as it was 20 years ago.

Comido en el restaurante un montón de veces y wimpy siempre limpias y ordenadas. No se puede hacer una más para ayudar a las familias con niños, incluso tienen asientos especiales para niños pequeños que corrigen a los principales cuadros. El servicio es siempre rápido y se sirve en platos de China y café en tazas de porcelana. Todo el personal es muy amable y servicial. También hay mesas para los minusválidos con sillas de ruedas.

No he estado en un Wimpy desde los años 70. Como vegetariano, pensé que nunca volvería a ir uno nuevo. Estaba visitando a mi madre que va en este Wimpy todos los lunes. Me quedé muy impresionado con absolutamente todo. Junto con las hamburguesas obvio, había mucho que elegir para comer, tanto carne y opciones para vegetarianos. Mi madre y yo fuimos por un queso y champiñones tortilla con ensalada. Fue absolutamente delicioso.

The service here is second to none. The food is Wimpy, there's nothing they can do about that, cooked fresh and right every time but they will bend over backwards to help fussy eater children and even adults. Not as cheap as Wimpy used to be but being a franchise the family have been here for years, know their regulars but extend their warm welcome to anyone who walks through the door.

Love this place!! Been going here since the early 80's, and the family is still going strong there. Yes its a little more expensive than McD's or Burger King, but quality costs more. The food here is freshly cooked in front of you & tastes great.

This is my favourite Wimpy. Always good service and good quality burgers! Wimpy may be dearer but you know you are getting better food. Keep up the good work.

My family and I have been visiting this particular wimpy for many years. We went there to celebrate my birthday. The level of service we always get is exceptional. It is a family run restaurant,and the customer service is second to none. The owners always come to your table and make sure everything is ok. Everything is spotless. The service is fast,and even the staff have been trained to a high level of customer care. Thank you to everyone at Wimpy for making my birthday a memorable one. We shall be seeing you again soon.

Whilst it is nice,I do feel the food here is so expensive since it is meant to be burger and chips!You can actually get a really nice meal in a proper restaurant for what it costs to feed 3 people here.Nice people and clean but too expensive for the type of place it is

I Think some other reviewers have mixed up Bexleyheath Wimpy with Welling Wimpy.The owner Ibbi is a fantastic guy always so polite and the restaurant is always clean.Been run by Ibbi and his dad for many many years.

Dirty, poor, horrid. Bloke who runs it looks like he hasnt washed in weeks and he smells of b o. My God, service was poor, food was stale and cold

If you want a no nonsense meal come here. The food is straight forward and is just like it was all those years ago. The menu hasn't changed much.The staff are lovely and the manager has been here from as far back as I can remember. There are not many Wimpy's around anymore and as a teenager my friends and I would come here for a wimpy and chips, a coke cola float and a brown derby.

We went here on the off chance because we had been let down at another restaurant, we had no choice but to go there as everywhere else was booked. We were a big group 6 adults and 5 kids. Really great staff nice food great service and the kids even got a small present

Well this in definitely not a gourmet place so my expectations were not high, but the food ir really below par. Lots of local chavs seem to enjoy it though...

the experience was ruined by a cost of over £35 for 4 is far too much for a plate of burger and chips and a drink I don't think warrants that much in a plastic seat café

Went here for a 'meal'; very loosely termed. Food was cold and inedible. Complained to Manager 'Ahmed' or something similar. Said he didnt care; that the food was great and had no complaints!!! Have complained to Wimpy head office too and they have said they have recieved numerous complaints about this site and this Manager in particular

A lovely Wimpy. Clean and welcoming restaurant with extremely friendly and accommodating staff.The restaurant can get busy and sometimes you need to wait for a table! Mainly Sunday lunchtimes. Take aways are available though I fully recommend the lemon quorn burger!

Myself and my partner have been using this restaurant for years. The food is always cooked from fresh, always served hot and the waiting staff always friendly would recommend this place.

this one meal you cant beat always safe clean good staff nice meal we will go there anytime t beats all other burger bars by miles give it a try ok its a tad more the pay but you get a nice clean plate china a decent cup of tea from a cup great food 10/10

I visited wimpy bexleyheath with my mum for lunch. I have to say the place hasn't changed at all since I was a kid when we used to visit even the manager is still there. Always very friendly the food is really nice and they still do a brown Derby.

I have been to many wimpys during my life all over the uk and I can honestly say that the food here is always good . Where others may have good and bad days or dirty cutlery, this Wimpy has the most consistently fresh and well cooked food and a clean environment. There are also a lot of unusual shops to look at on the high street and many are open on sundays. Parking is available at many locations in Bexleyheath and there are at least 2 cashpoints nearby. Staff have always been polite and helpful to me.

Wimpy is Wimpy. It was here before the McDonald's invasion and serves burgers on a plate with a knife and fork which are as good as any fast food burger. What makes the difference here is there is a sense that the staff at this branch care. The store is shining and immaculate. Inviting.Deserving of custom.

I have been a customer here for more than 36 years off and on. The food is always freshly cooked so some of the reviews here are quite surprising. When I visited on Sunday the half pounder was delicious and piping hot. The joy of eating a burger and chips with a knife and fork is not to be underestimated. Service was great and I was very pleased to see the owner working. The only thing is that it is pricey compared to McDonald's.

We walked in two young ladies laughing at us smirking got to a table young ladie took our order brought food over asked for sauce she forgot kept asking owner was lovely came over asked if everything was ok when we were eatig food there is mirror the girl was standing behind staring at us which was off putting as we were only ones in back of restaurant so we decided to leave as felt it was annoying as soon as we got up she walked away never even asked how food was or service she stood long enough to ask us !

I have been to many wimpys and was really disappointed with the food I had. The staff were friendly enough just the food didn't seem on par with other wimpy's I have been too.

Title says it all, great food and great service, really nice welcome - highly recommended. If you're a fan of a Wimpy you won't go far wrong here.

I chose yes for one of the best meals but I in context I mean chain burger fast food restaurants it is one of the best. The food is always really good, especially the quarter-pounder with cheese. Their burger sauce really adds to the flavour. The chips always cooked really well where they are crispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle. The portion sizes are the right size for a grown male and is enough for anyone. Then the Milkshakes are to die for and if your feeling slightly adventurous you may wanna dip a chip in one. You wont be disappointed because the chip will taste salty and sweet. The staff are really friendly and make it seem more like a traditional family restaurant. So it is perfect for families and groups of friends, anyone really.

Been here few times, food is always fine with good portions. Staff pleasant. Been with children too and good selection of meals for them. Toilets could do with a spruce up.
