Wimpy in Aberdeenshire

Food freshly cooked and very tasty. Very filling, which can never be said about McDonalds. I had the ‘Bender Burger’, which was just as good as I remember from 1991. Speaking of bygone eras, this restaurant doesn’t appear to have changed much since 1991. The original table and chairs are still in place and the decor looks pretty unchanged (though very clean). Only reason I’m not giving 5 stars, is that it’s expensive, but as a treat for good burgers and a trip down memory lane, it’s great.

Bringing back all the 90s memories! We ordered to take away. The staff were pleasant and service was quick. All cooked fresh to order. Tasted just like it used to. Would visit again if in the area.

The food was very tasty. Great portion of fries. The milkshake was yummy. But its just overpriced. Maybe I'm just used to mcdonalds being extremely cheap. The staff were friendly and the service was quick.

Visited for lunch 28/12/21. Food was freshly cooked and tasted amazing. Better than any of the other fast food burger chains. Service was quick and efficient. Only fault we found was that the building/decor was looking a little run down and unfortunately the toilets were what can only be described as disgusting. Puts a dampener on the visit unfortunately.

I ate here Monday around 17:30. The service was very good and the waitress was very helpful. The place looked very clean inside, and they had a Track & Trace system in place. I went for a Wimpy Hamburger and it was really fine. It was cooked fresh and tasted really good. The price was £3.30 which was good value for money. Overall I had a good experience and I would definitely visit here again .

Took my nieces there. They got my food order wrong, which didn't bother me. I got my burger back after they scraped the tomato off of it. I couldve done that at the table but can't eat tomatoes. They then added onions which I stated no onions when I ordered. So I got it back for the 3rd time with tomato still on it. Service was shocking , no apology at all. Again I understand mistakes happen but the service along with the mistakes were awful 😕

Having discovered that the Broch had a Wimpy only yesterday I decided I needed to relive 1985 and take my son to a proper old school burger restaurant. It was exactly as I thought it would be so if you go with 1980s early 90s expectations you won't be disappointed! The servers were friendly and gave good service and the food was as expected! Cheap and filling. My son loved the jelly for dessert and I loved the Lipton iced tea.

Absolutely love a Wimpy quarter pounder meal with a side of special sauce, polished off with a strawberry milkshake. Service is always quick & efficient, no problems at all any of the times i have been. Mints at the till when you pay & the staff are always very appreciative of a tip if you can spare it. Highly recommend & much MUCH better food than Mcds! Great place to watch the locals from the floor to ceiling windows from too...

I came in for a bit of a nostalgia trip and had a coffee. The latte was not really that great and staff seemed quite indifferent. It was very hot and could have done with an extractor fan. The toilets were clean but could have been more accessible. There aren't a great deal of options for fast food in Fraserburgh. This place could really do with upping its game.

Terrible. The manager is a bully, to staff and customers. He is rude, immature and horrid. That's all I can say. He shouted at a customer's son because he fell. The floor was extremely slippy and wet, not the child's fault. He just so horrible and mean. Can't stand him. The way he looks at and treats customers is truly sickening. Ruined my visit to Fraserburgh. Truly horrid and the place stinks. I had visited once in February and got served by a lovely little waitress with pink hair. I saw how rude the manager was to her, he actually reduced her to tears with how harsh he was. I couldn't believe it but I thought it was a once off. I came back to see that waitress gone. If i'm being honest, she was the only one who did her job. The others just sat on their phone and did nothing. Horrible, horrible place. Don't go.

The cook/boss is a bully. He shouts at staff all the time for no reason. I was hung upon mid way through a phone order and when I arrived I was spoken to in a very rude manner and the manager was extremely rude and held back some of my change. I will never go back and I suggest you don't either One staff member was clearly drunk and another was hungover and looked as if she hadn't wiped her makeup off from the night before. Prices are through the roof.

This Wimpy is quite small, and the decor is tired and needs an update (some of the seats were ripped). The female staff just sat around as we waited for them to welcome us with a couple of menus - baring in mind we were the only customers in the place. The food was good and hot. At the end of my meal, I went into the disabled toilet and, to my horror, I couldn't get to the toilet because it was stuffed with recycling bins, boxes of cleaning products stacked high, and also a clothes rack, full of the staffs' coats. This has got to be illegal to prevent access to the disabled toilet. BTW, be vigilant when you come and go to this Wimpy, as the druggies will threaten you for money. All in all, a very nasty experience!

Went in for two milkshakes to take away, got served by the manager. To be told to wait. Waited 15 minutes to not get served and i had to ask what was going on as the staff was too busy on there phones and walking about doing laps round the tables as the place wasn't busy. Maybe if there wasnt just kids working the service would be alot better

Brilliant Wimpy still here in the Broch. A great menu selection for adults and kids and still has the classic Shakes, Wimpy Grills and benders. The only thing missing is the tomato sauce in plastic tomato shaped squeezers!!

The chef is a bully i witnessed him nitpicking at the young female staff for nothing multiple times !

Hadn’t been for a while so decided to go at school lunch time as a treat.. Both kids cleared their plates without being asked they both had cheeseburgers and chips. Myself and my husband had the half pounder and chips which was ace.. Prices r up a good a bit but it was worth the money. A big improvement since my last visit... Staff also very attentive.

It has to have been 30 or more years since I last visited a Wimpy. The burgers and fries haven't changed which is good however, sadly neither has the terrible seating which is fixed and was not designed for anyone with long legs!The food was reasonably priced due to an offer of 2 quarter pound burgers & 2 fries for £10.50 the real problem with this place is that the ventilation is really poor meaning the condensation levels are really high.All in all it is what it always was, simply a fast food joint.

Wimpy burgers were always better than McDonald's. ..and it's still the same. Great quarter pounder. Love the relish. And a good few vegetarian options as well. If only there were more wimpy places around.

Mi primera visita en casi 20 años. Las mesas estaban herméticamente apretado para las piernas y un pequeño espacio para sentarse. Mi comida estaba bien, pero un poco caro a 8 libras. 25 por las patatas hamburguesa y zumo. No lo tome con niños debido al alto costo de la comida. El personal era amable. Yo no me apresuraría a volver a los tímidos, no está mal para un.

Fuimos para una hamburguesa y no haber estado en wimpy por más de veinte años que no sabía qué esperar. Todo lo que quería era una hamburguesa. No hay patatas fritas bebida no sin salsa. Orden tomadas por chico y en pocos segundos me dio la factura. Burger llegó unos minutos más tarde y que era normal en el mejor. El restaurante estaba lo suficientemente limpia, pero el personal parecía desinteresado. No volveré.

This place was around in my childhood and it is still there! It is so much better than other well known fast food outlets. The food is tasty, service was friendly and it was a good lunch.

Visiting Fraserburgh and came here for lunch, great burgers at a great price. Loved the milkshakes. I recon these burgers are better than McDonald's that's for sure

We went for a quick lunch but found ourselves in a school canteen filled with smoke! We were forced to choose to take out and eat our average burgers in the cold, we will not be visiting ever again

We were made very welcome ,very clean,bright and airy.We had the milkshakes which were delicious and the Wimpy Grills,freshly cooked and plenty of it ,brought back happy memories,we will be returning again soon.

The food was okay but the service that we received was not very good. A disappointing first and probably last visit to Wimpy. :(

The wimpy food is great, so much better than other similar outlets. I almost always have the same, a burger, with chips, special sauce and some onions on top. The burgers are so much better than the likes of McDonald or Burger King. A bit more expensive tho, but you get what you pay for.It's table service here, which is a good touch. Waitresses are usually quite young, but never had a problem with any of their service.

Very quiet for diners and busy take away. Walked in and sat down at a table. Never been to Wimpys before and was surprised when someone came up and handed us menus as we assumed it would be like McDonalds. Nice surprise however though were not amused to see it was 5.30/6 for a burger and 2 extra for chips and more for a drink! I ordered the mushroom burger and my wife the bbq burger, both with chips and mine a mango smoothie and my wife a strawberry shake. both drinks were nice and brought quickly. two people came over to take the order, one training? girl was awful though unsmiling and looked bored. two minutes later the girl came over and handed us the bill. This is just unprofessional and should be left til we ask for it! told the card machine wasnt working so wife had to go looking for a cash machine. mozarella sticks were nice however arrived 5 minutes before everything else. burgers were ok and chips though not worth the 22 bill for 2 people! ok but wouldnt visit again unless desperate! also no sauces offered or cutlery though other people were offered/.

The name Wimpy probably reminds you of childhood trips to far-away cities, or exciting encounters with other teenagers, or some other excitement from your past. When you find the Wimpy in Fraserburgh, you can choose to visit, or instead choose to keep these fond memories, and don't have them wrecked by a trip to Fraserburgh's finest fast food joint.The coffee was tasteless - I rate this much worse than McDonalds. Due to some technical reason, we had our tasteless coffee brought to us by a careless teenager, so there was an amount of spillage in the saucer. Luckily I didn't order any food, so I give this place 1 blob based on the worst coffee I have drunk in 2014.

It was clean and you can have a bite to eat while waiting for bus. It typical of all fast food chains so you need not worry about waiting for your food or taking it away if your bus is about to leave!

Staff are rude and unpleasant and look like they want to be anywhere BUT the wimpy - can't blame them. Staff also unkept in filthy shirts, very offputting. Thought my burger was a child's as it is tiny. Drinks are 3/4 ice. Floor is so greasy you may as well cook the chips on it. Cutlery unpolished. Your benders are nice though. 10/10 effort

hadn't visited a Wimpy for a few years so i thought i would give it a go. so disapointed, very expensive tiny little burgers. burger king and mcdonalds give you much more for your cash, my granddaughter was very disappointed as there was no toy. left feeling hungry and robbed, wont be back.

Having left Fraseburgh some 20 years ago I love to return home every few months or so and I always visit the Wimpy, mainly because it is a favourite past time and has been around since I was child.The reviews on here really annoyed me so much so that I went and made an account just to tell the good side for this restaurant and I would bet almost anything the people who have tarnished the staff and the restaurant have not actually said it to the staff/management if it was as bad as this I sure as heck would be up complaining there and then. Sure it is a little dated inside and the food is not to Gordon Ramsay level but I think the people reviewing this place are expecting far more than what a wimpy actually is/supposed to be. A fast food place not a 5 star gourmet restaurant, I believe the only reason it gets harsh reviews is because its compared to Mcdonalds that is cheaper but the meat is most definitely not real! Now the rant is over to the actual important bit, ANYTIME I visit the restaurant the staff are always friendly (I take my grandchildren and the staff are as equally friendly to them) and helpful and the tables and surrounding areas are always clean although a few tables are badly stained but having asked the waiter to clean the table he explained that the marks were permanent but he cleaned it anyway. The food is always to a reasonably high standard; fresh, hot and tastes yummy. I really hope that people start supporting the local businesses in Fraserburgh, it should be about community spirit and helping each other not personal slander or childish reviews!. I've also sent a letter of the same effect to the management because I really am shocked at what I have read, nothing short of a disgrace!

Do not bother with this dump, the food is not fit for dogs and the staff are rude and unhelpful. The place is full of junkies that mill about the area like zombies and come in to ask for change.

Chips were delicious , but the overall atmosphere and tidiness was terrible and it was literally a greasy spoon , like when you haven't washed your dishes properly and they are slimy , to verify this further the air was stuff and sticky . Chips not worth it ! However the other wimpy cafes I have attended are of good quality and if I was rating the other ones they'd be 4 stars !

Been here around 3x & it only gets worse. Terrible food, terrible service, horrendous decor & atmosphere.... Standard WIMPY.The whole place looks like it hasn't been modernised since the day it opened donkey's years ago.It really is the lowest of the low fast food joints.

depends, as their burgers are like cardboard, chips are regularly over cooked or under cooked, on the bright side there onion rings are to die for. i also like onions.

This place is a total disaster. I tried it once and service was terrible, after a couple of months decided to go there as I was waiting for the bus and have to say they didn't improve.Food is somwhere between poor and average fast food, service is miserable.
