Fantastic atmosphere ,good food,and very family friendly would highly recommend to anyone will definitely visit again

Visited the Willow Tree today for Breakfast with Santa.(6 adults and 4 children) An amazing experience which all the children thoroughly enjoyed. Focus was primarily on the kids, with all children having their breakfasts before any of the adults. This meant that once fed, they could have a little mini disco, christmas sing songs and games before they had a treat from Santa himself.This did mean that all the adults got to eat their breakfast in peace (breakfast advertised as large and it was LARGE).The attention to details such as letter from Santa, colouring packs, selection box, photos with Santa and Naught Elf, even down to a snow machine covering the front on arrival, made it a really brilliant experience for all who attended.

We were very impressed with the service from Ashton and the quality of the food during a very busy period. Shame they have stopped selling Fosters which is my favourite. Well done to all workers here - the team works well.

I visited this pub for the first time yesterday with my husband and we were so happy with our food (a burger for me and steak for my husband) but more so with the staff. Every member of staff was so friendly and helpful, particularly our server Matt! Thank you for lovely meals and service!

Had lunch at the Willow Tree today (3rd Dec. 2021 ) and it was stunning . My wife had scampi and I had hunters chicken, both meals were cooked to perfection and served by efficient and pleasant staff. In the words of ArniI’ll be back. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Popped in for father in law's birthday lunch. It was his first time out for a few weeks following a bout of illness. He is now 92 years old and still has a great appetite!He polished off a full plate of fish and chips followed by a big bowl of ice cream. Service and food very good.

Just called in for lunch after visiting family in Ebbw vale and the waiter with the ginger hair was so switched on and happy it was a breath of fresh air in these uncertain times. We all had different meals and all I can say is this pub has got the food right so compliments to the kitchen staff as it was excellent, so good food and service we will be back.

We have been coming to the Willows in Brynmawr for the steal nights every week for the last 3 months. The food every week has been beautiful. The steaks are always cooked to perfection. Ashton has fabulous customer service skills and is a great advocate for the restaurant.

Came in this evening with my 2 children and partner.The staff were out of this world! So friendly and polite. We were welcomed with a friendly reception and amazing service. Drinks straight to our tables and phenomenal table service. I had a steak cooked medium rare which was cooked to perfection even changed my tomato for an extra mushroom with out the imformas eye roll other restaurants have given me in the past. My patners meal he said was outstanding and the children enjoyed theres also.. Then came the deserts OMG to die for!! Thank you to those that were serving us tonight sorry i didnt catch your names however your manager should know who was on shift. We shall be returning soon!

I was so disappointed by our visit here. Staff were so unfriendly and unprofessional. My friend's cocktail was basically just syrup, and when she asked for the orange slice in the description was just told 'we don't have oranges.' Our drinks took 25 minutes to arrive, and I had to go inside and chase them up because they'd forgotten and they were completely unapologetic that they'd forgotten. Plus there was loads of food left out on the table next to us which was covered in flies, and wasn't cleared away for the hour we were there. So unimpressed

Visit the willow today and was impressed. Food was excellent and they warmed the plates which I was impressed with because not all resturants do. It was presented nicely. Service was very good. Staff made sure we were satisfied. Definitely will return.

We visit this pub regularly and usually have a good meal. But today wasn't so good. The staff there are usually good particularly Lauren . But the young girl that brought our meal today nearly threw it at us. The gammon my partner had was like rubber and the chicken on my salad was dry and cold. Not a good visit there today

We booked for a family meal today as it's the first time out in 5 months post lockdown.We have been to the Willow Tree many, many times and have always enjoyed. Food today was amazing, well done chef!. Our waitress Jo was so attentive and recognised us when she saw us. Fair play, beautiful food, excellent service and a lovely evening. So glad that we were able to return and give you our custom.

We have eaten here before, and every time it’s been great. The staff are friendly, professional and welcoming. The food is always excellent pub grub, and a few surprise choices in addition to the usual fayre. Covid safety procedures in place, with plenty of social distance between tables and everything spotlessly clean. A special mention for Ashton who served us, as she was fab. Will come again.

Called here for an early evening meal, having booked online we were warmly welcomed on our arrival, staff were friendly and efficient, our food was served to us quite quickly, all our steaks were cooked just right and tender, we all had an enjoyable meal.

First things first, staff are amazing! A lovely girl named Caitlyn that’s works there is so polite and helpful, she has amazing manners and couldn’t be more welcoming. The food is lovely! Always served hot, the wait time is very short too. The prices are very good.

myself and my family came to the willow tree this Sunday where we really enjoyed a beef and lamb cooked dinner . I have had Sunday lunch there before which as been OK but today it was superb. We served by Laura who made us feel comfortable. Top marks deserved because of its improvement will definitely be back soon.

Went to our local the willow tree probably the best marstons for quality of food and service served by Sarah whose constantly busy but still makes sure she has time to keep the drinks topped up also always smiley and helpful. Also considering it’s busy with the last eat out to help out food come out quickly was expecting longer waits

Served by Sarah this evening she was very helpful and friendly. Food was beautiful, and hot and didn’t wait long at all. It was bank holiday Monday and the staff were dressed in Hawaiian and pub was decorated too. Lovely evening!

Visited The Willow Tree on 2 separate occasions in the last week. Service was excellent as was the food (I think we were served by Evanne and Joe). In the current climate it has a clearly laid out format of how you were expected to navigate your way through the pub as well as the greeter telling you how you yo do this. Will definitely be back!

Visited the willow tree today with my partner and LB , roast beef was tasty, not as tasty as the Yorkshire puds though the staff was very friendly especially Helen who served us she made a effort with our little one and kept him entertained, lots of safety measures in place , all in all a great visit will definitely be returning

We understand covid has effected the ways things are done, but don’t expect to have attitude as soon as you walk in to get shouted at. Not really explained well, the woman behind the bar shook her head, and made it very uncomfortable, the tattooed lady then also kept staring and rolling her eyes. Very rude customer service.Foods not that special either, Ok if you just cant be bothered to cook but dont expect much.All i can say is that if that the staff need customer service training.Only wanted to go for food, not to have someone watching me, rolling her eyes and making us feel uncomfortable. Very disappointing, been here a few times over the years and can say never had a meal where there wasn’t just one problem. Only benefits to coming here is that it’s cheap. Well it’s not as cheap as it used to be... But would rather buy a ready meal from asda, take it home and microwave it. Might get a warm meal then

Awful Sunday lunch. We must of been in the restaurant all of 30 minutes before leaving. We asked for the bill, discussed with the staff how poor our meal was and no mention for sorting our poor quality food just and excuse of “the food comes in pre ordered, we don’t taste the food” our teo plates was full when paying/leaving for the bill and no offer of discount. Very poor will not be returning ..

Visited this week for lunch with daughter, restaurant was absolutely freezing - all the windows and doors were open, had to leave coat on for whole visit. Meal was not the best - small portions, prices have gone through the roof - £16.50 for 1 small chicken breast with garlic mushroom sauce, about 5 small new potatoes and tiny portion of vegetables, don’t think government discount was applied (website says this is automatic) possibly just the normal buy one get one free and full cost of drinks and side? Have since queried the bill as no receipt was given only to be told discount isn’t automatically applied if you order through the app (I didn’t) and sometimes doesn’t show on the receipt but without my receipt to prove what happened there’s nothing they can do. So beware!!

Had the fish and chips on this visit, fair play was immense couldn’t ask for a better place for a decent bit of grub fair dos. Our server, I think it was Milly Mae our waitress was absolutely brilliant Been putting off writing a review for months but I think it’s time this place got the recognition it needed as well as its service Big thanks to willow tree for a great meal and milly for providing great service to the family meal. No occasion just fancied popping out for some food.

Our visit to the Willow tree on Saturday 15/02/2020. was very disappointing we ordered a starter that arrived but there was no cutlery to eat it with and when the cutlery was brought to the table there were food particles still on the forks we complained and were given clean ones Then the main meal had food missing from it yet again we had to complain and we also noticed that while some of the kitchen staff who have long hair have it tied back they don't wear hair nets one of the staff who had long hair didn't have it tied back and was also not wearing a hair net was serving food to customers not a good experience.

I decided to visit here again after a mediocre meal last time and left even less impressed. There was no warm welcome. The waitress seemed like we were putting her out by being there and didn't have a name badge so I don't know her name. We ordered two Sunday roasts, which arrived quickly but were swimming in water alongside the gravy. The food itself was lukewarm and it tasted like the vegetables weren't fresh. The carrots were cold and the peas were like bullets without any flavour. I left half of my meal. We ordered dessert as I was still hungry but after a long wait and no dessert in sight, we decided to leave as I'd simply had enough. £3.20 for a refillable soft drink, total £20 for both of us and we went to Abergavenny to find somewhere nicer for dessert. We won't return in a hurry.

Had a meal with friends at the willow tree and I have to say the food and service was fantastic. My wife and I had the mix grill which was huge and everything was tasty. The service we had from Evanne was superb she was very friendly and helpful.

Would like to say a big thank you to our waitress Sue and the kitchen staff for our beautiful meal yesterday at the Willow Tree. Considering there was 17 of us everyone’s meals were perfect and out at the same time even separating the bills for us. 5 stars ⭐️

Absolutely fantastic food accommodated 17 of us sitting together. Thankyou to the kitchen staff as our meals were all brought out together and the waitress sue was amazing.

Had a lovely evening here with my partner for Valentines evening. The tables were presented very nicely with a rose and treats and our server Ashley was very attentive and friendly. Food was excellent and the live singer made the evening perfect. Thank you to all the staff

Called in at the Willow Tree tonight for a quick meal on our way back home. We were so impressed by everything there. Greeted by our friendly waiter Ashley who couldn't have been more helpful.Drinks appeared really quickly. Meal not long afterwards. My wife had a steak which one could see was fantastic, no gristle and cooked to perfection. My chicken and ribs were delicious. A great meal at a really good price.Came away feeling really appreciative for a wonderful meal unlike our recent visit to the Manor Hotel Crickhowell when we left feeling cheated and disappointed.Forget the pretentious but poor Manor head for the wonderful Willow Tree.

There were 8 of us who who arrived on a busy Saturday afternoon, the staff could not be more accommodating and made us feel welcomed. Great service and food was lovely. Lots more vegetarian dishes which is good to see. Excellent value.

Well phoned to make a booking for Saturday evening, spoke to a supervisor she said we dont take bookings on a Friday or Saturday until after 17:00 so I booked a table for 18:00 for 6 adults and 5 children by the play area .walked in yesterday the supervisor was taking us to the other end of the pub away from the play area,told her that we booked by the play area, she said you can reserve tables I said you have reserved that one why not over by the area she was very rude and just keeped saying you cant book a table and walked away from me only 7 of us turned up so the lovely waitress got us a table over by the play area ,while we were sat there I got up to go to the bar and to my surprise there was a table opposite the play area reserved ,very rude supervisor/ manager not 1 apology , food and waitress was lovely supervisor/manager very rude and not professional

We have visited The Willow Tree for several years now and have always have great food and service (I've written a previous positive review). However last nights food was awful. I chose prawn cocktail to start. A handful of mixed lettuce on a plate with large chunks of cucumber. Prawns and sauces plonked top. No finesse, no care and very disappointing. My main was cod in stilton sauce. I couldn't finish this meal. The cod was so over cooked it was hard. The carrots were literally dried out and the new potatoes well over cooked and squishy. My partner's smothered chicken looked pretty rough to start and looked and tasted liked it had been boiled for hours, it was inedible. When I spoke to our waitress on paying and said all of the above she stated that they had had a few changes and did not have a chef! As we were leaving a young couple next to us had just received their meals. They were both seriously unimpressed and the young woman said she couldn't eat it, pointing to her chicken. This is a fairly damming review, I am aware. However for such a change in food standards something has to be done and soon or they will be loose customers and we will loose what has been a very good place to eat. That would be a great shame as the front of house staff are lovely and the decor and ambience are excellent.

Just average in all respects. Oh , overpriced .long wait for meals although not busy and disappointed with value and taste when it came. Wouldn't recommend

I have been coming to the willow tree since it opened and w shave never been disappointed. The staff are extremely friendly, food is great with good price. Excellent atmosphere and very family friendly.

Food has improved over the last few months and as always Sarah makes your visit extra special by going out of her way to help you. She is one of the best servers I have come across. Shes always so polite and extremely helpful and friendly. She always put a smile on my face

My partner and myself visited the establishment this evening and i have too say the food was appalling,my Steak and Ale Pie was described as puff pastry lovingly cooked but was sttaight out of the microwave as it was soggy and tasteless as were the chips as they tasted like they were cooked 2 hours previous too eating them.

Popped in on a whim for a catch up with friends, second time here and didn't dissapoint! Sarah (Gin Queen) couldn't do enough for us, starters, mains and desserts were all cooked and presented well, and the gins our friends had were lovely. Will definitely be back

We came out to celebrate me and my partner getting our new family home. We came with our best friends and we had one of the most amazing 3 course meal I’ve had in a very long time!! Our fabulous server was Sarah, the gin queen. When asked for recommendations, she was amazing not only for food but for gin!

We have recently moved back to the area after 8 years. Having previously visited the willow tree 3 years ago, and been very disappointed, we decided to pop in on a Saturday evening with not to high expectations...... we couldn’t have been more wrong, Daniel and his staff were fantastic!!

Pretty standard really, fairly busy for time of evening. Good menu choices and 2 for 1 deals all very good. Service was good, food was average for type of establishment. Would return again.

We had an impromptu stop at the Willow Tree after a visit to the nearby supermarket. It's part of the Marston's chain, but unlike many well-used chain pubs, wasn't looking careworn and sorry for itself - the design and upkeep are both good. There is a very wide menu, so I can't imagine anyone not finding something they like. The children's menu is also very good, with plenty of options for children to 'mix and match' their preferences into their meal. We had two curries which were very substantial and really tasty, and were pleasantly surprised to find it was 'two for one' curry Wednesday, so one of them was free. All of the staff at the Willow Tree were welcoming and friendly, and obviously really good at their jobs because even though it was a busy lunchtime, the food came quickly and no finished plates were left lingering on tables after the meals had been eaten. I must give a special mention to Ellie Mae who served us as she was really polite and kind mannered, and gave equal attention to all the tables she was serving. Sometimes service suffers in places which are busy, but Ellie-Mae remained professional and unflustered at all times. We will definitely return.

Listen, the willow tree is the willow tree. You don’t go there for a la cart and the price is bang on for what you get! It’s enjoyable and a lovely atmosphere. Food was good, as always.

Well our visit here wasn’t the worst we’ve had. The salad was edible but for the price I could have made a decent one ... if you like easy fried food you should visit here. We knew what we were in for so the fact it was dog friendly we went here. Unfortunately if I had to be honest we would not eat here again. Nice atmosphere for a drink though. We would visit for a drink again.

Absolutely terrible food, ought too be ashamed to charge never mind serve it . We had lamb shank and 3 steaks it was either cold or cooked to death, mashed potatoes with skin on it , revolting.

Went for a meal with my partner this evening. My partner had the rack of ribs but since the refurbish of the restaurant they do not give you much sauce with the meal as before. Sarah our waitress was happy and friendly. Overall a pleasant evening.

The trouble with this place is that they put all their efforts into the food side,when if like me you pop in for a beer you are waiting ages at the bar to get served until someone sees you, after they have delivered the food to the tables. I presume they are understaffed or maybe run it that way in the afternoons as they dont get busy, so when it gets busy like it was when I went in twice this month they are rushed there feet... you steprepared to wait4 or 5 mins for a drink then fine.. but even when people were eating there they still were waiting for drinks at the bar, as no staff were available to serve them at the tables. What grieves me more is that servers were walking around not serving anybody when you did see them.. like I say frustrating.

Been here on numerous occasions and have never been disappointed.. food quality and quantity is excellent. I require a vegan and gluten free menu which when I asked Sue the serving waitress she was more than happy to help. I have been places where specific requirements are frowned upon but not here .

Not been here for a long time as tried a few times years ago and qasnt impressed. Today however we gave it a go as nowhere else to eat outdoors in sun in the area. Expectations were low but we were impressed. Chicken and rib combo was lush, coleslaw tasty, meals hot. Nothing to complain about.

Disgusting service, rude waitress. Staff member behind the bar had a very bad attitude. Tables left covered in dirty plates and food for over an hour.

Went for Sunday lunch food was cold carrots were hard stuffing balls burnt and so was the Yorkshire pudding not to mention the roast potatoes being like mush. Chicken and mash was nice yet still cold. We also witnessed another lady sending her lunch back as it was cold then they delivered it back to her that got she couldn’t even touch it so she sent it back as it was just completely inedible

This is seemingly the only place open and serving food on a Sunday after 1600 hours in the local vicinity. That said, their 2 for 1 deal makes it very reasonably priced and the food was well cooked. The bar staff were friendly and engaging too

Revisited after the refurb and what can i say what a lovely job they have done,great decor, great food, great staff and the lovely helen done a great job with us all, will defiantly be returning.
