William Morris in Richmond upon Thames

Steak and kidney pudding was awful. Never had a crunchy one before, the lower two thirds were hard baked and the top vaguely as it should be and the gelatinous gravy vile. Hardly any "steak" and not sure there was any kidney at all. Chips OK but a children's portion, hardly a "meal". Beer OK - The Old Thumper and staff pleasant

'Spoons breakfast. Coffee machine malfunctioning, paper cups, bacon barely warm, toast soft and cold, eggs barely warm, hash browns barely warm. Grubby serviette. Eggs in my wife's Eggs Benedict cold (replacement was warm but not hot). Not recommended. 😐

Excellent pub with the usual high standards expected from a Weatherspoons. Great and quick service. Good atmosphere as well. A must go to whenever we’re at the Lyric Theatre !

We visited this pub for a late lunch with our son and granddaughter. It was fairly busy as a Sunday. We ordered food which arrived quickly but was cold so we sent it back, the waiter seemed quite surprised about this!!!! The ladies' toilets weren't clean so my husband went to the bar to bring it to their attention, an hour later they were still in the same condition!!!! Another customer sat beside us a bit later and had some chips which also arrived cold, so he sent them back as well. Drinks selection was very good. Would return for a drink but not a meal.

Spent £32 on three meals with 3 pints. Upon finishing my pint long after the meal, I found a short black hair in the bottom of my Guinness glass. I’m grey haired btw. I felt sick. The staff didn’t even apologise and just refunded the discounted pint.

Happy place pub in Hammersmith. Whether going there for breakfast, lunch or dinner or late drinks, this pub is always happening! Friendly staff, many seatings and clean. No music to add to a pub’s ambiant noise. All pub food classics are available with simplicity and great value!

We stopped here twice, once for breakfast and once for dinner. Both meals were excellent value and well prepared. The first meal was breakfast, my husband had a full breakfast and I had toast, juice and tea. Service was quick (you order at the bar) and hubby was impressed with the full English. Our second visit was for supper. The pub was very busy, but the meal came quickly. We both ordered fish and chips which were crisp and tasty (husband likes mushy peas….me, not so much!). We are from Canada’s east coast and know our fish and chips, and this meal was very good. We like the Hammersmith location, so we will likely be back here again.

A good wetherspoons, the usual good value food, drink, food served in good time. Busy place, you have to persevere sometimes to get a table. It's worth it. My only minor issue is, it can take ages to order on the app. The wifi is very poor. Hope they can sort this problem out.

Yesterday afternoon a group of us went into the William Morris for afternoon drinks and lunch. we had the best time. All the staff we come into contact was excellent, very polite, friendly and helpful. Leanne in particular was attentive, entertaining and knowledgeable. She is a huge asset to Wetherspoons and deserves much kudos. We will definitely be back soon! Food was excellent and full of flavour. Drinks made with professional manner. Five stars was not enough. The pub was very busy but the service we received was as if we was the only people in there.

We stayed in Hammersmith over the weekend and went to this spoons every morning and when we came back from seeing places in london , Friendly staff , service was really quick on bringing our food to the table , 10/10 Highly recommended place to go ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

It’s a Spoons and it’s a very busy one, lots of people trying to grab a seat, service is slow at the bar and not much better on the app A bit dull

Couldn't get in at 19:30 on a Friday night due to my 17 year old sons age even though he was accompanied by parents and had ID. Hop Poles down the road and others had no problem with us. My 19 year old did go in to use the toilet on the way home and said it was full of drunk 16/17 year old girls!

Return to london. We used this Wetherspoons for breakfast and evening meal. 50meters from Hammersmith tube station. Friendly place for cheap family meal. We will use again

On my tube journey from Heathrow down to Victoria I checked on the map and saw that this Wetherspoons pub was close to the Hammersmith tube station. I was in dire need of a hearty breakfast and coffee. Wetherspoons rarely let me down on that score. In fact this particular pub was perfectly OK. I was amused to see some other reviews about the pub needing a deep clean. Because on the morning I visited there were a plethora of cleaners everywhere doing their best to make the place look spic and span. Anyway, I had the standard full English breakfast and received my mug for the unlimited supply of hot coffee/tea/chocolate. All ordered at the bar & all good. Oh, and I also found the downstairs restrooms to be completely in order. Perhaps coming at the start of the day, a Friday, the cleaning crews were preparing for a busy, international rugby crowd.

Having visited this Pub a couple of times when in the area and having visited a significant number of other Weatherspoons it needs a good clean and re decoration inside, especially with Weatherspoons emphasis on CQSMA. The staff were efficient behind the Bar but some staff walked past tables with dirty glasses & without wiping them or ensuring menus & chairs were in place. Selection of real ale was ok prices slightly higher than many I have been to £2.59 pint and this is before the 7.5% increase in February. Food Hopefully the Area Manager & Head Office visit regularly, attention & implementation to ignoring small things lead to larger problems

Came here for breakfast - just what you'd expect from a Weatherspoons including the early morning beer drinkers. Staff were helpful and the breakfast was as expected: a lot of it, very good value for money, not that exciting. The place is quite shoddy when seen in daylight - could use a good deep clean.

Always a sign of a good bar when it’s always busy. This is a good Wetherspoons pub with the usual good value beers and promotions. The only problem is finding a table if you want to eat because it is so busy at peak times....

Don't pass this gem, drink wise the cheapest for normal brands, anywhere else your paying double, staff courteous and place immaculate. Real jewel in the crown

With it being so close Hammersmith tube station it’s a great meeting place. All the usual good Wetherspoons offers and a good range of beers make it all good value for money. Another good visit.

We were allowed in with a tiny dog, no questions asked. Suddenly security swamped us after about ten minutes. The manager who refused to give his name called us “F*****g pilloks” and several other rude words. Just very upsetting. We didn’t understand what was happening...

This is a great Wetherspoons in a great location. Staff were prompt, kind and brilliant. Food delicious as it is in all spoons, i recommend it compared to other local pubs.

Before going to see the Mum of a friend of mine, I popped in with her son to this Wetherspoon’s establishment to have breakfast.Value for money, it was excellent, and plentiful too. Staff were friendly and it ticked all the boxes I would want.Would happily return here in the future.

We were disappointed that we chose the sharing menu one of the dishes was breadcrumbed prawns....that only 5 arrived. We thought if its a sharing menu there should have been at least 6! So at least it would have been even for sharing with someone else. I wouldn't choose this dish again. Not sure if I would eat here again?

Poor service as I had to ask 4 times for a breakfast which when arrived was cold. It would not have been so bad if it was busy but there was no one else eating in the pub.

We've been to the William Morris a few times before going to shows at the apollo and we've always had a good meal, been treated by friendly staff and it's been well organised especially when crowds gather before popular apollo events. We've booked tickets for shows at the apollo in a few months (if they go ahead) and will definitely visit here for a drink or meal beforehand if they're open.

So, understanding the new guidelines with regards to ordering a meal to have alcohol i totally understand. After finishing my meal I then ordered a dessert and 1 more beer and was told I couldn't have my beer as I needed to order another meal?But surely my dessert is part of me going for a meal? So I need to order 3 main courses just to have a drink with my starter and dessert????

We went here for a meal on the way to celebrate our daughters birthday. The food was good. The place was very clean and tidy and the staff were very polite. Disappointed that the chocolate fudge cake is not ont he menu anymore. BRING BACK THE CHOCOLATE FUDGE CAKE.

When I last went to this pub it was being renovated so hopefully it will be a lot nicer, when I went the inside of the building was tired and needed renovating. Nice food, friendly staff.

For a Wetherspoons this is a great pub. Just been remodeled and looks great! Staff were attentive and friendly, quick service and good prices. Would recommend a visit if going to the Apollo.

The place was rammed on a Friday night in December.Service at the bar was extremely quick fro friendly staff.Food came out very fast, hot and plentiful and was up to typical Wethers standards. Cheap.Lady (possibly Manageress) was fantastic, kept coming round to ensure everyone was happy.

Good place to for for a late night post gig drink if you have been in town for a show at the Apollo. The crowd on a late Saturday night was very interesting and great place for a cheap drink. The staff were good and security do a great job too.

We had a lovely breakfast at this nearly refurbished bar.There was plenty of tables available , ( sat morning 11ish)I was served fast at the bar , and the food also arrived fast and hot ...The waitress was very efficient , and we enjoyed our meals .Good value pub food and drink .

Don’t get me wrong. It’s a Chain, and like most chains some are rusty, some are corroded, some are slack and some are strong. Newly refurbished, The William Morris attracts a well kept, upper middle class customers and with steps away from Hammersmith Tube, its a great “Local” to have a tipple on the way home from work.

Went to see the Cult at the Hammersmith Apollo Sunday Night, thought it would be too late after for a drink but was pleased to find the William Morris open until 12.00 on a Sunday night. Good range of drinks and excellent prices.

Such a good pub, great location for meeting friends and recently refurbished making for very pleasant, relaxed atmosphere. The usual deals which Wetherspoons offer making it good value and good quality, particularly the curry night Thursday deal, but beware of the Vindaloo, it’s hot.

We popped in to the William Morris just before a show at the Hammersmith Apollo as we had been before and were after a full English breakfast for a decent price.Obviously being a Wetherspoons you know what you are getting and usually it is pretty good but on this occasion we were not happy. The food took quite a while to come to our table and it wasn't that busy in there to be honest so not sure what was going on there. When the food came it was luke warm and it soon went very cold so it didn't get finished off. When this sort of thing happens you start to notice other things and you can see that this particular place is starting to look very tired and could do with a revamp.Won't be going back to this one in a hurry I'm afraid.

Acabo de presenciar a alguien acercarse al bar alegando que ordenaron un vodka y coca cola, pero no obtuvieron vodka. Al pedir uno nuevo, fueron muy groseros y afirmaron no creerle. Olí la bebida e incluso tomé un sorbo y de hecho no había alcohol. Como cliente frecuente, espero más y esta no es la primera vez, ¡ya que esto realmente me ha sucedido! Aunque es un Wetherspoons, todavía espero más y estoy realmente decepcionado.

On our first night in Hammersmith, we ate here and really enjoyed it. I've been to a few spoons pubs and this was definitely one of the better ones. Fish and chips arrived hot and fresh, and was very tasty. Chicken tikka was also flavourful and the portion size very generous. Good selection of drinks and very affordable. Staff were efficient and prompt. Would recommend this pub for a meal or for a round of drinks.

Met here for post work pint. Which turned into a session and a dash for the last train. Great ambience, but what stood this apart from most spoons was service. Bar staff in good supply and attentive. Tables cleared quickly. Excellent superbly managed pub

Popped in for breakfast on the way home ,good selection of food and drinks,had the small breakfast which was freshly cooked and very tasty.Service was very good and the place was spotless.

사람 진짜 많고 넓고 약간 지저분한 그야말로 동네펍입니다. 맥주가 많이 싸요.2파운드 초반대부터 있고 와인도 이글호크등 10파운드도 안합니다. 음식은 시키지 않는걸 추천합니다. 그냥 여행을 마무리하는 맥주 한잔으로는 좋습니다.

Típico Pub Londrino com boa variedade de cervejas e muito boa comida. Experimente o Lamb Shank (carneiro) ou o Tikka Masalla (frango com curry, levemente apimentado). Vale a pena conhecer, tem preços mito bons.

Standard Wetherspoons fare, cheap food and cheap booze. Great location, right next to the Apollo and Hammersmith tube station so likely to get lots of business for that reason alone.On arrival the place was packed, staff nowhere to be seen. The only table we could find was filthy so we claimed it and ordered drinks off the app. Drinks arrived about 15 minutes later, so we asked for the table to be cleaned. That was done about 10 minutes later, then we ordered food which came out in about 15 mins, which surprised us.Ordered ham egg and chips and a cheese and bacon burger. The burger patty was awful quality, full of fat and gristle (clearly going as cheap as possible, these pro Brexit trade deals haven't improved things) and the ham was very fatty - once the fat had been stripped, the pile of fat was actually bigger than the pile of ham!Staff looked miserable, I can't say I blame them because there was hardly anyone on duty for what was always going to be a busy night (Britain's Got Talent Final). But they were relatively efficient & were working hard.Despite that, the quality and overall experience was pretty poor. But it's a JDW... they're fine with that because being so cheap, they can get away with it.The app is really good though. Easy to navigate & accepts Paypal. One of the best out there. But strangely, you can't order tap water - which bars are legally obliged to serve you. Everything on there has a £££ cost... seems a bit dodgy.

Ordered a coffee, punk ipa tikka masala and bangers and mash on the app. Took ages to come. Girl who brought the drinks over was friendly. The waiter who brought the food over was miserable. Food wasn’t great. Mum said her bangers and mash was okay. My curry wasn’t great, they’ve also stopped serving mango chutney with the curries

Four of us came along on Friday for fish and chips. The place was jam packed so getting a table required speed and cunning! The drinks are cheap and cold, the fish and chips was really fresh and good and cheap before we got a drink included in the price-then it became a bargain!

Absolutely exceptional service by a young lady calle Emma H. My friend and I enjoyed a beautiful steak each over a bottle of Prosecco. The young lady dealt with our order and requests amazingly well very impressed!! Thank you so much we will definitely be back!

I am really disappointed that our staff meeting that we are holding in this branch every month went really souer when your bartenders decided to treat as with arrogance,no smile or any sign of even trying to be polite behaving like we are her problem rather than a group of 15 loyal customers. We brought that to the attention of the manager as we prefer to leave it in his hands instead of publicly damaging the brand that we love... however we have been recieved in the same manner by him as he didn't see the lack of smile or making us uncomfortable as any problem. He said literally "what is your problem?". All team laughed at this... poor experience.

We cant lie we love a wetherspoons and we have sampled their food and drink all over the UK.The budget VFM food and drink empire is a winner for everyone , all wetherspoons are locally individual and they embrace the culture of the area in that wetherspoons.My disappointment with William Morris wethers is the below standard of the toilets ladies and gents , for me there was rubbish on the floors , the overpowering pungent smell of urine is overpowering.The stall i used the door lock was broken and there was graffiti on the walls and doors.Its a multi million pound business the food and drink menus are changing all the time to keep them ahead of their competitors but to have a below standard toilet hygiene issue is not good enough

A Saturday night, 20:30 so I expect it to be busy (it was) but we found a shelf for the 4 of us to stand by so queued for drinks - no apparent "correct" place to stand as the 4 or 5 staff were just serving wherever they happened to look up. Total chaos, no attempt to serve in turn (London is no longer the place to expect any kind of courtesy so don't rely on it). Eventually got served and even found a table (to share - no dramas). Next visit to the bar was mostly empty but by the time they served those in front it was packed, again and back to the random service; we managed to make sufficient protest to be served so offered it to a lady who would still be there now as she was so timid but she was rightfully there before us so only fair to serve her first. We managed another drink but considering the 3 hours we were there I could've necked far more had they served in turn - and stopped fannying about with the stupid eye-bath 'shots' that take so long to pour! This place was the worst Spoons and only justifies my continual avoidance of the chain. Tim Martin may well visit a dozen per week but he needs to try at opening to see the squalor they regularly are and late to see how poorly managed they are. And needs to spend long enough in one to need 'the facilities' to experience the regular ridiculous distance, SAS assault course and filthy conditions of them (mostly needs to take a peg, too!) We didn't eat - the food is usually what you'd expect for the price in any Spoons (and tepid)

I’m in no way a snob, I have visited many Wetherspoon establishments through the years but wow the customers here are something else! The toilets are full of empty beer cans, loo seats that it is impossible to sit on without almost falling off and the smoking area thick in the smell of some sort of ‘funky tobacco.’ Was starving before I got here but just could not bring myself to eat here, finished drinks and left. If visiting Hammersmith for a show, maybe try another bar....

Went here for a pre- Theatre lunch.It’s right opposite The Lyric Hammersmith and has a friendly atmosphere, plenty of tables and is fantastic value for money.We each had a meal and drink and it cost just over a tenner!The staff were friendly and it was amazing to be able to order with the app whilst sitting at our table.I have seen comments concerning the toilets- they were fine when we were there, a busy Saturday lunchtime.Would recommend.

Went for the usual spoons brekki, 3 of us, waited about 25mins then it was brought out, well most of it was stone cold, the only thing warm was the toast, went to the bar to complain, the server came over felt the the bacon agreed it was stone cold & took all 3 plates away, less then 5 minutes passed and he brings back the same 3 plates, remember he had is hands all over the bacon, needless to say we called the manager over who apologised and offered fresh breakfasts, no chance not here we had a refund.

Just had food at this Wetherspoons. I’m a big fan of this chain and tend to eat there as work all over UK.This one is a particularly bad one though. Quite a long wait to be served when it wasn’t very busy at all. Service by (I’m not going to make him as he could have been having a bad day but I doubt it tbh) the barman was awful.And I asked for a VAT receipt. I was given a till one. I asked again and was told that’s a VAT receipt. When I showed him the receipt he gave me with the words THIS IS NOT A VAT RECEIPT he muttered something under his breath which is not acceptable.Food was pretty decent though and it’s very good value. I just won’t be going here again.

Both the disabled and ladies loos are of a standard of cleanliness that is sadly lacking. This is a concern

Had an evening meal and a few drinks in the William Morris, usual large selection of drinks at reasonable prices. Atmosphere was good, pub was packed, ordered food and it came in reasonable time. Meal was ok, not overly hot, chicken was a bit tasteless however plenty on the plate with fries and garnish all good. Have been before and will return to the William Morris in Hammersmith.

It was nice as it was not too crowded at all. A nice place to play boardgames. It was pretty, cosy and spacious. It has a nice rooftop terrace too, which is a bonus. Yes, would go again.

Traditional pub in Hammersmith. Very good food, good prices, some deals includes a drink. And desserts... amazing.

Sono andata col mio ragazzo a cena in questo pub per due sere consecutive. Si ordina al banco e i piatti vengono portati a tavola dal personale. Il menù prevede panini fish and chips e contorni vari, oltre a piatti per vegetariani. Il servizio è molto veloce. Ottimo per chi vuole spendere poco.

I love wetherspoons but tonight this pub has made me hate this certain pub and last time I visited, last time I only got 10 chips on my plate and the staff did nothing, this time I went and the door staff was very rude to me saying that I need ID to get in even tho I was with my dad and grandad, I have spent hundreds of pounds in wetherspoons this year and I am disappointed and angry with the management of this pub if I could give it 0 I would

Todo el mundo sabe que Londres no se caracteriza por la buena comida ni los buenos precios, pero, The William Morris consigue que no te sientas un turista más sino parte del vecindario. Buen ambiente, un poco caótico y bullicioso pero es divertido compartir espacio con la gente que sale del trabajo, vecinos del barrio y viajeros en un mismo pub. Precios verdaderamente económicos para ser Londres y comida correcta. Nosotros repetimos dos veces porque estaba a dos pasos de nuestro apartamento.

We were in Hammersmith overnight (Saturday 27th January) looking for a meal early evening and called at the William Morris. The pub was busy (it was a Saturday afternoon) but we found a rather secluded table. I am very fond of fish and chips and have always enjoyed them at other Wetherspoons. I had cod and chips – delicious, my wife had scampi and chips with glasses of cider and London Pride. Staff were pleasant and service was prompt.

Regular local spot for a cheap but reliable pint. The staff are helpful and pub is always busy. Sometimes too crowded to find space immediately, but there's a lot of tables so if you loiter a bit then a place will come free. Also, shout out to the random punter who handed in my lost wallet, and the staff member that returned it at the end of the night. Good folks!

We came for breakfast and at this pub the food was of very high quality, I had scrambled eggs on toast and I could not finish the portion as our plates were filled! Highly recommend, staff are very kind too

We had the misfortune of stopping in for a drink and a waitress bumped into my boyfriend and spilled a glass of red wine on him, soaking his jacket, jeans and shoes. She left without saying a word and after some time, returned to clean the floor. After we repeatedly asked to speak to a manager, she told me I didn't have to be rude. The manager was finally notified, but she chose not to speak with us, instead asking a duty manager, Matthew, to speak with us. Matthew's only recourse to us to address the damages was to call the company complaint line. He was very short with us and offered no assistance whatsoever. Not one of the pub's staff ever apologized or expressed concern or remorse. We will certainly never return.
